I do not write a lot of reviews. I typically finish a book late at night, and by morning, I've gotten invested in too many other things to do it.
I do not read a lot of YA. I find I have little in common with high school or early college age heroes.
But this series. Y'all.
This series starts with a book called "Beautiful Demons". Somehow, I never imagined that demons could be beautiful, unless they were like... vampires or something. But the name is not deceptive, it's perceptive.
I started the series because the author has an amazing YouTube channel for writers called Heart Breathings. After taking her Publish and Thrive course, and watching her videos, I decided to give the series a go, thinking I'd read the first one, just to say I had read it.
But it doesn't work that way.
I am not going to include any spoilers. Why would anyone want their fun ruined?
What I will say though, is that even if you're 'older' than YA's typical target audience.
Even if you're not so much into "demons".
Even if you're unclear as to how you would feel about reading an 11 (will end at 12) series of books, plus their side-story novellas and such.
Start. This. Series.
The first three books are free right now. You don't have anything to lose, and you have twists, turns, cliff hangers to gain.
Harper, the heroine, is endearing enough at the beginning of the series to make you feel as if you've met people like her. Her friends are varied. Her struggle starts as one problem, ends with a much bigger one. There is romance. There is heartache. There is the kind of strength that only comes with being truly *real* with yourself and true *to* yourself. And more than anything else, throughout the series, we are constantly reminded that each small decision we make in our lives can have a huge impact on our future.
It's a fun ride. It's an impactful ride.
And it's one of the best self-published series I've ever read.

I received this arc in exchange for an honest review.
The wait was so worth it.
I tried to read this slower so it would last longer but the scenes were just too good that I couldn’t wait to find out what was happening next.
I love and hate the story from each characters view.
At the end of each chapter I’m cursing to know what was going to happen with that character but have to continue with a new one, then by the end of the chapter I’m doing it all over again.
Chaos errups pretty early on and it’s all go from there.
Each character is battling their own part of the war with so much action, passion & emotion.
The detail in Sarras writing prints a clear image in your mind as you navigate all the adventures.
So many “omg” moments and more twists and turns.
This book does not disappoint and light heartedly annoying, that cliff hanger!!!
Until the next instalment, patiently I am here waiting.

I just love this series
Just when I thought I couldn't get any more surprises they just keep coming. This series is in my top 5 series I love. Keep it up cuz after that ending I can't wait to see what happens in the final book

Vengeful Darkness definitely made up for a lot of the ground that seemed to be lost in the last couple of books by eliminating two of the major "villains" in the series (and the focus of our main characters' plans). And, in a new twist, we're finally introduced to the High Priestess, who she is, what she wants, and why she's doing what she's doing. For me, this reveal was both intriguing (as I want to know more about how she got to where she is and made the choices she's made) and disappointing (because it felt kind of shoehorned into place).
I think one of my biggest complaints with Cannon's writing style is how quickly she wraps up her endings, which I felt was definitely the case here. I wish Cannon had taken more time showing us the High Priestess' story and thought process. I know that the big bad evil person's soliloquy of their dastardly plans is a cliché -- but we definitely needed more of it in this case to truly understand that character and her motivation. As it stands, her motivation feels really flat. Additionally, Harper's partial defeat of the High Priestess also felt contrived and forced.
But, in true Sarra Cannon fashion, the cliffhanger ending will have me coming back as soon as she finishes the twelfth (and final?) book in the series.

The emotions I felt reading this book...a sense of love (we have been following these characters for years), the sense of loss, and the sense of pride.
Aerden's story arch is amazing. Jackson's love is captivating and Harper's determination is inspiriting.

Ughg WTH!!!
Ok I'll start with the positives, GREAT BOOK, lots of questions answered. And I do mean lots of questions. Negatives..another cliff hanger! I'm being to hate unfinished series with cliffhangers. I'm even to the point where I'll check to see if it's a complete series before I even start a book now. It's like watching a great movie and it just stops before the end.
I love this series an already reread to ( again) so I could read vengeful darkness not really thinking it was another cliffhanger.
Oh well the wait continues I guess

OMG!!!
So worth the wait!
Every bit as fantastic as I hoped it would be!
Lots of pieces fell into place.
The intricate twists & turns of this whole saga are amazing.
LOVED IT! LOVED IT! LOVED IT!
I really & truly hope I don’t have to wait as long for the next book but if I do I will console myself in the fact that it will be absolutely worth it - all good things come to them who wait! (but not too long please? lol)

Stunning
I absolutely loved this entry in the ongoing Peachville Demons series. I laughed out loud, gasped, and was on the verge of tears several times. Jackson, Harper, Lea, Aerden, etc are now my beloved friends. I really don't want to give any spoilers, but our enemies aren't necessarily who we think they are...the same can be said of anyone in this sprawling tale between the two worlds. I loved it Sarra!!

I am honestly at a loss for words right now. This is a great series and keeps you entertained all the way through every book. For anyone who is looking for a series to invest their time in, this is it. Side note: I truly hope this will someday become a movie series. It has so much potential!!! Anyways, the eleventh book of the series will have you hanging onto to the edge of your seat. I did not ever want to quit reading it because I knew there was not another book out yet to fill my eager mind. Sarra does a great job capturing the attention of her readers. Her vivid details and use of imagery will have III feeling like you are a part of the scenes in the book that are unfolding. If anyone is an obsessive reader like me and loves Syfy, then this is the series for you. Usually I am one to mind spoilers, but for once I will leave the element of surprise to those out there who have not read the book yet.

Sarra you NEVER cease to amaze me! The waiting was absolutely more than worth it in the end because I cannot imagine this book going any other way than the final draft you've magically woven into words! Impeccable, amazing, show stopping, simply incredible & awe-inspiring!! I have no idea how you're going to wrap this story up in the end but man I can't wait to see what magic awaits us in book 12! Fantastically written and left on the most exciting Sarra-hanger EVER!!!

October 23, 2023How is every dialogue tag either I/he/she SAID or ASKED? Let me start by saying it's okay to use said. Said is not dead, but dear lord, if it's the only thing you use, there is a problem. Especially when that has been happening since book one in a series that has been going on for several years. This is something I expect to see from new or inexperienced authors, not authors who have written numerous books over the years and has a long standing series.

I wish I could give more stars than just five! That was incredible! So much action, it was hard to put it down. Then the ending...POW! Totally awesome! Way to go Sarra Cannon! You deserve to be one of the top authors around. No wonder it was so hard to write for you. Well worth it though. Thank you! Can't wait for the last book in this series. You have out done yourself!

What a plot twist!
I absolutely loved this book. After a long while of waiting I am more than thrilled to say that the wait was totally worth it.
Seeing how everything changed with the blink of an eye and people being reunited and while others were lost this book kept me immersed in the shadow world as only Sarra knows to do. I can’t wait for the final book.

Ofc, it was GREAT
I will write more soon, but this book for was worth the wait. I'm looking forward to & can't wait for the 12th book. It's going to drive me crazy to still not have some questions answered, but I'm also very satisfied because alot did finally get revealed in this book. Thank you, Sarra, for the awesome story & all your hard work!

Awesome book
I chose 5 stars because it feels like your right there in the story with your characters. And I love how you describe each POV. In your series. I loved everything in the book from beginning to end. You do such an awesome job. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves reading YA and fantasy stories. As always can't wait for book #12.

This book was the best one out of the Part II of the series. It really explained a lot about the Order of Shadows and who the High Priestess was and her motives. I can't say I was surprised who the High Priestess was. The clues were there as the series went on, but it just took forever to have the person revealed. I'm curious to read how the series ends.

Sarra Cannon is the queen of plot twists and cliffhangers — or Sarra-Hangers as her fans call them. The character arcs and plot keep getting better and better in this witchy YA series. There were so many twists and turns in this book. You will never guess who the High Priestess is!! I can’t wait to read the final book in the series.

This has been an amazing book series. It started a little slow, this second installment has been incredible. I really feel like I know the characters and the world they live in. My only complaint is that this book leaves on quite a big cliffhanger with no definite date on when the next book is going to come out.

I absolutely got involved in this series, from book one to eleven I was hooked. I still have to read A Demons Wrath and After Midnight, which are stand alone books, but still part of the series. I am now waiting for book twelve to come out, to find out how it all comes to a end and what powers Zara brings to the fight. Please write fast Ms Cannon.

Amazing!
Sarra out did her self with this book It is amazing! The amount of twists and shocking points that we still get in book 11 is just as good as the beginning. I don't want it to end but am so excited for book 12!!!

As usual you never know what is going to happen next. Just as soon as you think you have an idea, Sarra puts in another twist you didn’t see coming. You will never guess who the high priestess is!!!

Masterpiece
Are you kidding me!? This book was a masterpiece, as were all the previous books in the series. It’s so fast paced, we finally got the answers to so many questions and it’s simply impossible to put down. I love this series so much! I can’t wait for the next book ❤️

I've put off reading this series for too long and now I've just devoured all of the books in the series (including side stories) in less than a month. I'm absolutely hooked on Sarra's writing style and her characters. I am dying to know how it all ends.

Loved it!
Can't wait for the last book in the series (but no rush). Go Harper, you can this. Good to know who the villain is. And all the back stories, but I have the feeling more revelations are bound to happen in book 12. Book 11 sets it up perfectly. Well done, Sarra.

Where is Book 12!?
I know its coming but I cant wait to see how it ends. This one was so good and that twist was UNBELIEVABLY twisty!!!!!! Sooooo good. I read it faster than I wanted to. I tried hard to not finish it but I could not stop reading it!

Amazing series! I started this journey from a free book on amazon, and I have to say I have not been disappointed. I have read every single book in the series and all the side books. I need a book 12 NOW! How this series isn't more popular. I will never know because it is brilliant!
