When M.Never writes a new Femme fatale, I sit not so patiently waiting for the release. She writes about such strong, intelligent, lethal, fierce, and independent female protagonists. This one is right up there with the rest. Don’t get me wrong; there not recycled work, far from it.
The title matches the book perfectly. A great white shark is unpredictable, with a deathly bit. Dove is just that a Great White.
Dove works alongside a Queen pin. That made her the title, La Tiburona—The Shark. She has several demons with a horrific past. Dove keeps everyone at arm's length and rather be alone than being in love or with anyone at all. Tate is new to the cartel and instantly attracted to Dove. She repeatedly rejects him and denies her feelings. Let me tell you, it’s a messy and bumpy ride. The Dea is fast on their tale, not is all that it seems and so much betrayal with several characters.
The character development of Dove is one of my favorites from this author. She is loyal to a fault. We read a complete one-eighty without her losing herself. The chemistry just pours off these two. I was waiting for them to ignite. Between the witty banter and Tate’s Spanish, it’s given me all the feels.
M.Never never disappoints. Her writing is phenomenal and doesn’t shy away from writing outside the normal, and always entertaining. The book is fast-paced, and I read it in one sitting. Definitely not for everyone. There are some triggers with dark undertones. All Of her books, including this one, is a must-read.

This wasn't bad at all. Both the premise and the plot were interesting I just couldn't get into the story. 2 ⭐

Riveting thriller set in the world of cartels & Assassins, it keeps you in a chokehold, rarely stopping for more than a minute. Like a Runaway train the disasterous cartel life ends with a bullet to your head or life behind bars at the mercy of corrupt guards and gang attacks.
But Dove aka La Tiburona- Great White Shark,too wild to be tamed and ruthless, is in too deep and ready for all the hazards that come with.
her confidante partner/beastie Stefania runs this operation of Deltoro Cartel with Eyes Wide Open.
They knew of the consequences, the dangers, the short life span and yet it doesn't help that they still find love and they pine for more.
Well...I pined FOR them.
Stefania has Marco of the rival Rayas cartel, and the little background we know of Dove, we know that she's had the toughest childhood and brutal relationship, hence she's Alone.
"My fate was sealed the day I was born. Destined to wonder. Repelled by love. Doomed to walk alone.
Alone is safer. Alone is a shield. Alone protects me. So alone I shall stay."
Her trust factor is non existent, yet Tate enters her world with a promise of love and normalcy. Despite the red flags going up, warnings screaming in her head, the heart decides to open the door a sliver and let Tate slip in..
Oh boy!! MNever has a penchant for delivery high speed, racy thrillers with complexities of the heart thrown in for added measure. This book is atypical of her slick storytelling prowess. She kept me bound and gagged in her plot. Tate brought much charm and sass to knock my socks off, I could almost see the twinkle in his eyes Darlin'😆
“I said, you are tangled in my soul. When we touch, the skies open, the heavens rumble, and the rain pours. The beauty of our love is in the storm.”
Dove and Stephania had all my admiration and sympathy for toughing it out in cruel male dominated violent business, but they held their own.
A couple of very surprising twists later,this avalanche of emotions comes to a halt.
I was stupefied, stunned and speechless but that is the true testament to the wizardry of Mnever books.

The prologue was phenomenal, it grabs you from the start. I was brimming with anticipation. But once the actual story played out it quickly fizzled for me.
There were a few things that didn't work for me in this story, but first, as usual M. Never's writing is great. I love this world of female assassins, starting with Stevie, Fallon, and now Dove. All of them are alluring, complex and have a dark past. Unfortunately I didn't love Dove's love story.
Ok, first and foremost, the "romance" part of this was baffling. It was so fast with no build. I get the lust and the attraction part but even for instalove there was absolutely no emotional depth leading up it. They've barely spent any relevant amount of time together before Tate fancies himself in love, all while Dove either ignored him or iced him out. It was just not believable.
And frankly I found Tate to be two-dimensional. I didn't care for him and his intentions or find his characterization appealing. I also thought Dove's character didn't have the same well-rounded development as the previous female assassins. She didn't have many action scenes so we didn't get much of her badass either.
Trigger:
Tate gets involved with another woman even though he has the love bug for Dove. OW is not always a trigger for me, especially if they are not together yet, but the bed partner jumping bothered me in this case because it made their already nonexistent romance development even more unromantic, unbelievable and awkward AF, given who the other woman was. He's so blasé about it, as is Dove, but it's a protective mechanism of her assassin character - she's cold and icy. I do understand that love and romance come about in different ways but I feel like Dove deserved a different kind of H - someone with more integrity given her past with men.
There were other aspects in this that just didn't sit right for me. And as the storyline played out, it ended up being clichéd. I've watched this sort of plot before in movies or on TV - a few times. While the timeline occurs over several months, parts were glossed over and the parts that weren't felt rushed, leaving me feeling disconnected.
In the previous femme fatale stories, there was redemption and amazing character arcs for Fallon and Stevie - and they both had epic all-consuming love. This didn't have that or any momentous moments other than Dove thawing enough to fall for this seemingly random guy.
I just did not think it was a great match. The circumstances of why they met and the lead up to how they got together was dysfunctional. I didn't feel their emotion or believe in the authenticity of them . I wish I had better things to say about it, but this was a miss for me.

Dove aka La Tiburona is an assassin…ruthless, composed and cold however one new recruit named Tate Donavan might test her composure. Training to be in the Deltoro Cartel, Tate has to start from the bottom and prove his worth. Flirting with Dove just might be his new obsession while climbing those ranks. Can Dove find a way to stay focused on the job and let her heart open up again? Will a rival Cartel cause issues they can’t come back from? These two have true chemistry together and I loved their bickering banter. This is an entertaining cartel/assassin romance that really keeps your interest and has a twist you won’t see coming. A little warning that this does have a semi OW situation in case that’s a limit for you but it’s not what you think. if you enjoy a fast paced, Cartel romance with a sweet side this is the one to read. Told in dual POV

Gahhhhh!!!! It seems like it’s been an eternity since we had some M. Never words. She’s back. And boy did she come back with a vengeance. This book was epic. Super twisted and definitely hot. The dark themes were fantastic and made my dark loving heart happy. Intense chemistry with the characters and some witty banter had me addicted. I could not put the book down! Dove is a bad ass and I want to be like her when I grow up!

This was certainly an entertaining story. An easy read but nothing ‘new’ or super spectacular. {Las gewoon lekker weg!} My rating: 3.8 stars.
Almost immediately I had a feeling So no surprise there…
Somehow I had a feeling there could have been 'more' to the story, hence my rating. Some things were just a little too easy and/or too convenient. And I would've liked to know what exactly happened between Stefania and Marco.
Nevertheless... nice read! Probably gonna read the other books in the series too... some day.

I was initially introduced to M. Never's books by the story apps, Chapters and Moments. Let me tell you how much better the book versions are. OMG I was seriously hooked from the very beginning. The story flowed beautifully and it was wonderfully written. Dove is one badass chick. Not one I would EVER want to cross paths with I really enjoyed this story and hope to read more from this author and world.

M. Never has been cornering the market on kick butt heroines since she wrote Ghostface Killer. This book just adds to the series.
We meet Dove, who was picked up at a very difficult time in her life. But she was shown that she didn’t have to take any guff from men - that she could be strong and stand on her own.
We also meet Tate - who is gung ho and goes after what he wants. He becomes a sort of thorn in Dove’s side…. She is attracted to him, but doesn’t want it to take away from who she is and the work that she us doing.
There is a lot of violence in this book - but it us par for the course in the drug world. It is a thrilling ride, so check it out.

I couldn’t get enough of Tate and Dove! Dove was the absolute perfect heroine in my opinion, she was strong, fierce, unafraid and unapologetic and Tate was the only one who thawed the ice around her heart no matter how hard she tried to keep her resolve she just couldn’t when it came to him

Never has created her best work, she comes out with a new masterpiece that sucks me in, blows my mind and feeds my soul. Are you ready to swim with the sharks, flirt with danger and then fly away like a Dove? Then this amazing five star read full of powerful mafia women and even hotter men entangled in a brillant net of lies is for you!

This author can always draw me in with the characters that she creates. I love that she has created this world of take charge women. Its refreshing and a great palate cleanser.
There were a few areas that I wished had been fleshed out but don't want to give a spoiler. Still, all in all, this was a great story. Off topic, this cover is gorgeous.

Oooh, let me tell ya- I love a lethal heroine! I have read the other two books in this series and really enjoyed them, so there was no way I was missing out on Great White.
La Tiburona is cold and dangerous and Tate is the perfect man for her. I like that he’s different from a lot of the heroes we see in darker romance. He’s funny and sexy and loyal. He is honest about his feelings and treats his woman like gold. He’s exactly what Dove needed. I loved their story! It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat.
I recommend this book/series if you enjoy femme fatale type of romance with strong, lethal heroines and the sexy, alpha men who want to stand beside them, not in front of them.

You are about to meet one of the most kick butt women characters their are to meet. That's Dove and you are going to love her. Once upon a time she was a highly abused woman who was running from the man she loved but kept putting his hands on her. Hiding behind the dumpster she sees something she shouldn't and knows that her time is up. But the man and woman that find her hiding teach her what revenge is and La Tiburona or the Great White Shark is born. She is a bad butt and is running the cartel with the only woman she considers to be her friend. Stefania is the one running the operation and Dove is her equal partner and together they are building back what Stephania father had built but was destroyed when her entire family was murdered by a rival cartel. However Stephania is in love with Marco from a rival cartel and his father wants theirs gone. How is that ever going to work out. But Dove has bigger things to worry about at the moment She is about to find new recruits and when she meets Tate the night they are testing the new recruits to the death their is an instant attraction on his part. He knows that he wants her and has to have her. But he is not giving up so easy and he just might be hiding a huge secret. I am to afraid to tell you any more of the story as I am afraid I might give something away. If you like your men hot hiding secrets that no one can ever find out and a woman that is tough as nails then you are going to love the story of Dove and Tate. I loved every second of it and devoured it in one sitting. I just couldn't put it down. There is a lot going on and more people hiding secrets than you know. It will keep you one your toes and on the edge of your seat. You do not want to miss this. This book is M. Never magic. If you have read her before then you know what I am talking about. If you have never read an M. Never book then this is a good spot to start and then you will be as hooked on her books as I am.

You are about to meet one of the most kick butt women characters their are to meet. That's Dove and you are going to love her. Once upon a time she was a highly abused woman who was running from the man she loved but kept putting his hands on her. Hiding behind the dumpster she sees something she shouldn't and knows that her time is up. But the man and woman that find her hiding teach her what revenge is and La Tiburona or the Great White Shark is born. She is a bad butt and is running the cartel with the only woman she considers to be her friend. Stefania is the one running the operation and Dove is her equal partner and together they are building back what Stephania father had built but was destroyed when her entire family was murdered by a rival cartel. However Stephania is in love with Marco from a rival cartel and his father wants theirs gone. How is that ever going to work out. But Dove has bigger things to worry about at the moment She is about to find new recruits and when she meets Tate the night they are testing the new recruits to the death their is an instant attraction on his part. He knows that he wants her and has to have her. But he is not giving up so easy and he just might be hiding a huge secret. I am to afraid to tell you any more of the story as I am afraid I might give something away. If you like your men hot hiding secrets that no one can ever find out and a woman that is tough as nails then you are going to love the story of Dove and Tate. I loved every second of it and devoured it in one sitting. I just couldn't put it down. There is a lot going on and more people hiding secrets than you know. It will keep you one your toes and on the edge of your seat. You do not want to miss this. This book is M. Never magic. If you have read her before then you know what I am talking about. If you have never read an M. Never book then this is a good spot to start and then you will be as hooked on her books as I am.

Great White catches your attention from the first line of text, the first scene where we meet the person Dove used to be. A chance run in with 2 of my favorite characters changes her life forever. Flash to the present day, we meet Tate who gets a glimpse of the woman Dove has become up close and personal. She lays him on his ass, both literally and figuratively. He’s a goner.
As the story unfolds, Tate and Dove become ever more entwined in each other’s lives. Tate pushes and Dove fights him tooth and nail to stay the hell out of her life. She is a loner by choice and for survival, a lone shark. Tate refuses to be kept at arms distance. There are profound moments between our characters as the pages turn. There is intense sexual attraction, flirting, humor, humility, and yes of course, scenes that will have you fanning yourself.
I will not spoil anything, but the ending is going to come out of nowhere and bite you in the ass. I am very skilled at predicting what will come next and I had not a single clue. Be warned, there are sharks in the water.

Loved loved loved this book!
I loved the writing.
I loved the plot.
And I absolutely loved Tate and Dove.
Both of them are special and dear to my heart.
Dove is one badass girl.
She’s tough and takes no bs from anyone.
She’s lethal and you won’t see her coming if she’s gunning for you.
She leads with strength and determination.
But underneath the tough exterior lays so much more than what she shows the world.
Dove’s vulnerabilities shine through throughout the story and she brought tears to my eyes.
Oh my gosh Tate, be still my heart!
Talk about a total package.
Then that would be him.
He’s sexy and strong.
He’s a charmer and a sweet talker.
He’s got swagger and doesn’t deny it.
Tate is so very confident in himself, it borders on cocky, but isn’t a turnoff.
The minute he and Dove’s eye meet I could start to feel the energy around them change and the connection start.
With each encounter things just intensify with them.
Dove is trying to deny what’s happening.
Tate won’t let her.
She wants nothing to do with him.
He will not give up on her.
Tate’s tenacity to show Dove that he will always stand by her side had me that much more endeared to him.
His loyalty to her is so freaking incredible.
Her loyalty to her convictions will test both their wills and the strength of their bond.
Both being such strong determined people one will have to give in.
Which one will it be though?

M. Never is a masterful writer when costing on the edge of dark. I fell into this world that Dove has found her true self in. She is strong enough to prevent her past from happening again and in a position where she does not rely on a man for anything. She takes care of her business swiftly and immediately. Her position of the second in command of a cartel is unusual for a woman but she has proved herself. Her best friend Stephina is the leader by default after the death of her entire family. But she's no pushover either. The two of them have each other backs through everything. Even a star crossed relationship between Stephina and Marco, the son of the rival cartel.
Tate is a grunt for Dove's cartel. He sees her and is determined to have her. His charm only gets him flack though until Dove almost breaks. I have mixed feelings about Tate. He's doing a job but his feelings overpower his duty. He goes through so much in his own head and has no outlet to figure out what his right is. He falls hard and fast for Dove and I adore how he knows she has to agree willingly to become more with him. Things have to be on her terms.
M. Never has created a beautifully broken strong female lead that I want to erase her past for her. I cried for her pain and celebrated her strength. She is wise beyond her years. The male lead is understanding and torn. He is the ying to her yang and they fit so brokenly beautifully.

W.O.W!!!! Just wow. I couldn’t put this book down! Every minute I had spare I was reading it. It consumed me from the first page. I loved it and I know this will be a book I read again and again 🔥
This was my first time reading anything from M. Never.. it most certainly won’t be the last. I loved her writing style, how she didn’t drag things out 🖤
The way she wrote Dove, well! She is the epitome of cool. Ice cold, ruthless femme fatale. And Tate... dreamy, cocky, self assured sexiness in a Stetson! She made you feel Doves longing and determination to stay away from Tate even though she wanted him. Her fear of being open and vulnerable felt very real ♥️
It made me so happy how Tate got Dove to soften, only slightly though as Great Whites are killers after all. But to see her get through so much, working at the top of a cartel to go through so much to eventually find happiness, made me so happy. Happy tears may have happened 🥲
Something BIG happened and I was in tears (again) and I was so close to messaging M! Dove didn’t deserve that after everything 🙏🏻

This is a fantastic and thrilling story about a femme fatale with sharp teeth! It starts out with an incredibly heartbreaking, intense and suspenseful beginning and doesn’t slow down at all. It’s gritty and dark, with pulse racing intensity, and hot-blooded passion. An emotional rollercoaster ride right to the very end.
Dove is one hell of a fierce woman. She’s strong, intelligent, fierce and utterly lethal. Dove has had to endure a lot of darkness in her life and she has built herself up to be something no one could penetrate or break down again. But along comes Tate, a sexy, funny, flirty and all consuming man that wants to make Dove his. Their back and forth banter was filled with hilarious comebacks and rife with sexual innuendos. They had me laughing and fanning myself all at the same time. Their chemistry oozed off the pages and was utterly undeniable even though Dove tries very hard to deny Tate at every turn.
Fantastic writing, phenomenal characters and a fast-paced, action packed, twisted, and highly entertaining storyline that leaves us readers begging for more stories just like this one.

Dove aka La Tiboruna has her moniker for a reason. She is lethal, intelligent, unapologetic and unpredictable – like a great white shark. Fierce and cold-hearted, while Tate, her counterpart is the exact opposite – and with that also immensely different from your typical brand of heroes in a dark romance: He is sweet and funny and speaks right from the heart. Which doesn’t mean he isn’t alpha or doesn’t harbor his own secrets though …
Their journey starts with a shocker and does not let up. It’s a wild ride on the more violent side of the dark romance spectrum, filled with amazing character development of especially Dove and chemistry that basically sizzles off the pages. The unusual dynamics between our characters was everything for me – not the hero but the heroine being the ruthless one and high up the food chain in a cartel, while the hero is the new one and having to work his way up from the very bottom.

Wow! this story is dark, exciting, gritty, full of action and great characters. I love Tate. He is so full of himself in a good and sexy way. Dove is my kind of heroine, strong and badass. Her life has changed dramatically since Fallon and March “rescued” her from that alley after her boyfriend had beaten her up again. “After tonight, no more hiding. No more vulnerability. No more doubt. Tonight you’re reborn. Or you’re dead.” I love this Fallon quote.
Now, Dove is the one who doles out the pain for the Deltoro cartel. She and Stefania Deltoro, her best friend, run Stefania’s family business and have been quite successful. She doesn’t let anyone get too close, especially men. There is something about this new recruit, Tate Donovan, that intrigues her. Tate is cocky, arrogant and gets under her skin but she refuses to engage even though it bothers her more than it should to see him with another woman and not just any woman.
This story has many twists and turns that it had me staying up past my bedtime to read more. The characters were fabulous and the story was incredible. I enjoy M. Never’s style of writing and her stories always pull me in and wraps around my heart. This is another one of those incredible books.

Maybe Tate’s luck is about to change. Dove is one tough cookie. She has a great friend who has her own story going on. This is a story where the women have some power in what is normally a man’s world. But the author also shows how women can still be vulnerable when they have to be strong of mind and spirit.
This story has secrets that the author will slowly reveal. There’s personal and physical pain. On the opposite end, there is steam with plenty of heat. Love doesn’t come right away which helps to build the anticipation. I loved that there’s a fine line between good and evil which helped to make this a page-turner. If you like a story that’s more suspense than romance then you might want to check this out.
You’ll find that this can be read first since it is a standalone. But after meeting Dove, I have to find out what the other two book are about. I also liked the slow build the author created between our main characters. You get a true indication of what world Dove and her friend live in when the author creates a scene that you may not see coming – it caught my attention. This was a good reminder that I need to check out more of her work.

First of all…. The small appearances by the characters for the other World of Assassins books made me SO HAPPY! I’ve missed this world so much and that was an unexpected surprise!
I’m a big fan of strong female characters and I liked Dove right away. She was very cold and closed off but had good reasons to be. She could be so stubborn but that was also part of her charm.
I loved Tate from the start. I loved the cockiness and humor and how bold he was. He was passionate and protective but understood that he was dealing with a powerful stubborn woman and he appreciated that.
The story with the cartel was interesting and unpredictable.
This was definitely a slow burn but once the steam picked up it was intense and amazing! I loved it. M Never writes great steam
My only complaint is, I’m jealous as hell and HATE OW drama and situations. I really really could have done without but that’s a personal preference and is we how it added to the storyline. But I’m a jealous brat….

OH MY HELL! M. Never flipped the script in the romance world when she penned Great White because instead of the dark assassin man, we have a bada** dark assassin female who is running a strong cartel with her close friend the Queen pin (another fantastic situation). The moment a couple of people found Dove at her lowest was the moment Dove would rise from the ashes to become La Tiburona & you certainly didn't want to get bit by her at that point. She's strong, she's fierce, she doesn't trust easily, and brutal if you mess with her so I'm in love LOL! Tate is a new soldier who wants Dove in the worst way, and his happy go lucky self is the total opposite of The Shark, but he doesn't let her intimidate him. He had me smiling because he doesn't back down from anything (even the death threats LOL). Their journey is not an easy one since they live a life in a cartel so danger, betrayal, rivals, and the DEA is all over the place providing the twists coming in hot. Seriously, you don't want to miss out on Great White as it's leveled up EPIC! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I really liked Dove's character in this story. She was extremely tough, and principled, and she made no secret of her desire to make her own way in life. When she meets Tate, he sets her whole existence into a tailspin, and it isn't until her world starts to fall apart that Dove really realizes just how much trouble she and her cartel may be in for...
I was intrigued by the plot of this book and I really like the background of the characters involved. Dove and Tate's relationship was super sexy and dangerous, and involved a lot of instalove to move it along.
