Kiyor and Bishop are both anti-relationships for similar reasons. Two people crossing paths with the same mindsets should be smooth sailing right? Wrong! Join Kiyor and Bishop for this chaotic and toxic ride.
This book was everything I didn’t know I needed! Chhhiiillleee I love ‘em fine, paid and crazy 🤧 i really enjoyed this story and the characters were a hot mess! I loved ever minute of it 😍 I love the closeness of the crew and they individual bonds. Definitely found a new author to binge read for sure
Whew... talk about a toxic love! Yori and Bishop got their first taste of true love and didn't know how to act lol! The people around them didn't know how to act either. This was my first read by this author and I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the storyline, the flow of the story, and character personalities! The excessive song lyrics were a bit much but it was a good read nonetheless.
This was just the read I needed. Fast pace, a FMC with the sh*ts and a MMC that knew what to do with all of that. These two Leos were perfect together.
Poor Bishop ain’t even know he was gone before he was gone lol. Homie out here making demands and getting that hand smack. Bcuz my girl Kyiro was not some bird brain and knew the game well. I loved them. They were nothing if not entertaining.
Now Ms Kyiro did have some missteps, but so did he. It was definitely messy. But it wasn’t overly done. Just a great pace.
Kiyor was working my nerves until she had to deservedly (at least pretend to) give Bishop back to the streets. She knew her worth and that's always an admirable trait.
The characters were a little immature and thrived in toxic environments, which made them a bit aggy. It had nothing to do with the bomb writing, it's just that I'm more on Wilma's level. 😉
There were some editing issues, but nothing major that took anything away from the book. Lot's of action and laughs. Glad that even though Kiyor stayed on her good bs, she also was portrayed as a smart, talented business owner throughout the story. Even though they both where too "friendly" it was nice to see Bishop so easily give his all to Kiyor without the usual drama we see in urban romance stories.
Although the Streets song lyrics were just right for the situation, there were too many songs lyrics for me. And all the designer mentions made me a little itchy, like ... 😳😬🤧✊🏾 I'm still giving a 5⭐ rating because while aggy, all it took was for me to simply skip over the lyrics and continue reading.
Kiyor was childish asf, rachett and some how a business woman? There was no scene where she acted mature and that was annoying.. I liked her still but I still have to be honest.. I really wanted her to be the one to handle her fake friends individually and have them still living and hating at the same time. I’m mad they got to jump her. I didn’t like how Bishop thought he could have his cake and eat it too at 1 point but I also wanted him to leave her childish butt alone..
Why so many songs???? I kept skipping through that cause it was very must NOT NEEDED. This story was a drag of Kiyor being hot in the tale (Super Thot) and making childish decisions and then got good at the last minute and you rushed the ending.
My first time reading this author's work and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. A summer read full of relationships, drama and falling in love. Kiyori and Bishop were definitely alike and their instant connection hit them with the love bug quick. No matter how many times they tried to avoid the inevitable everyone around them knew these two although toxic for each other, were meant to be. I loved how the story flowed and the timeline the author gave for each event that happened. These characters were a hot mess but also had their funny moments. Definitely worth reading.
This story was something else! Kiyor was a very unlikable young lady. She had a successful career as a photographer but other than that, there wasn’t much to like about her. The way she dressed and carried herself was so disgusting. All the fighting and arguing was so unnecessary. Bishop was okay. He wanted his cake and to eat it too. I liked him better than Kiyor though. The amount of song lyrics in this story was overboard. I skipped over most of them. The grammatical errors were hard to miss as well. The story was fast paced, kind of fun to read. Not a fan on the abrupt ending either.
Love the relationship between the sisters, their dad and Bishop and his family. Respect the drive in Yori as well as Bishop’s business direction. While I get that Yori was only 24,I strongly disliked how she was portrayed as a”hoe.” The ole saying about men and women being treated different when their behavior is the same, this is true, and it was evident when the bashing of Yori began. Dislike the heavy emphasis on all the name brands as well as the constant inclusion of lyrics in almost every chapter. My 1st time reading this author’s work, won’t be my last though. Yori was hilarious at times,as was Bishop’s mama and grandma. 5 stars, even with my dislikes.
This may be one of the funniest books I've ever read. I don't even think the whole intention was to be comical but Oh My Word I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. Bishop and Kiori were the definition of toxic. It was such a "get back" relationship I didn't know if they would ever get right. I can't believe ol boy had the audacity to try to tarnish the memory of Baylor. I'm super proud of ll the men and women and all of their business ventures. I really feel like I watched them all grow up and I was left with a warm and fuzzy feeling. This was definitely big screen dramady worthy. I read this like a show. Very action packed.
I really enjoyed this. Bishop did not play about Kiyor. He was literally 10 toes down for her. I loved him. He gave BDE. I liked Kiyor but she was pissing me off. She gave brat vibes. She was also immature in certain situations. At 24 you should have some type of maturity.
I wanted to know what happened with Barbi it’s like she just vanished after coming thru starting $#!t.
Listen one thing Cion gon do is throw a page full of lyrics and clothes description in lol which I can really do without.
This was so goood. The toxic love and drama would have you entertained. I literally ate this story up.
Only problem could have kept all the music out I understand a little bit all through the book though it kinda took away from a lot of things that they could have spoken on instead of the music
But I'm glad that Kiyor made Bishop work for the relationship but I feel like Bishop should have told her up front about His ex cousin before someone else 😉 because it made it worse just like his mom warned him about... But also Kiyor was playing childish games
Whew Toxic Toxic & more Toxic‼️ They both were childish and I’m glad they showed growth by the end of the book. It’s crazy Brandon and Monica was so pressed years later like let it go sheesh. Vita and Darcy was just eww but that’s why you gotta have friends in your tax bracket cause they’ll use you up until you say no now you the enemy. Bishop couldn’t take himself in female form at all lmaooo. Barbi was delusional honey but men be lying about the stupidest stuff smh.
I was surprised to see a book about Kiyor, but in true Cion fashion, it was an excellent read. I love how Cion navigates the dynamics of the characters' relationships. It makes the drama so realistic and I swear you know couples just like her characters. I loved the spice and hot headedness of Bishop and Kiyor. They both loved hard and Kiyor gave Bishop a run for his money with her "male" ways when it came to relationships. I loved Ms. Wilma. She kept it real with everybody. Hopefully the future brings a book about Ryan and Xena.
Mane. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The highs, the lows, the emotions, the feels. This book gave it! I have been seeing for years how I wanted to read a book where a girl gave to do around for his money and baby hot girl K did not disappoint lol. Loveddddd it. 5 stars all around, besides the grammatical errors. Better editing next time, but loved the book! Can't wait until you drop again, I stayed up all night reading lmao! Gave it!!!!
The best Summer read is right here, because baby Ms. Yori did not come to play!!! I loved the vibe and all the pettiness she brought with it. This author keeps it fun and very entertaining in the ratchet ways that all of us secretly entertain. This is her giving you female the upper hand to handle these ninjas accordingly ALL summer long. I could not stop laughing at Bishop trying to keep up. Very good read.
“Handle me? Who gon’ handle me!!! Thinking he’s a player he’s a member on the team” Period Kiyor. A young successful woman having her way with her career and these men. However, we know there’s always one to knock us off our feet. & BABY he’s 😅🔥🙌🏽 Everything okay. One thing about Cion she’s going to pen a story about the real young & reckless. I loved everything about it. I can’t wait to see what’s next with ⭐️
I don’t usually read books by authors that I wasn’t familiar with. But I will definitely start reading more by this author!I loved the book from the first page and I fell in love with bishop.I knew those girls wasn’t her real friends but sometimes it takes a traumatic event for you to realize some things.I do wish, that the book was longer or it was a part 2.I want ready for it to end.
Loved, loved, loved it. This was a perfect summer read and you know it brought the heat. The characters were well developed and nothing seemed rushed or stagnant. The book flowed and moved along nicely. I loved Kiyor and Bishop’s toxic love. They were crazy but they were even crazier for each other. I see a future book coming on Bishop’s niece, Xena, and Kiyor’s little brother, Ryan. I know that’s going to be goooood.
I am going through this authors catalog and this by far is my fav!! However nothing that I have read has disappointed me. The couple was toxic as hell but they really loved each other. This author is doing Not just New Orleans, but Louisiana proud. As a native Louisiana girl, I love reading all the references about the city of New Orleans, great job 👏🏽 👏🏽👍🏾👏🏽 I can’t wait for what’s next.
Kiyor pissed me off so me times, I was cheering and hoping Bishop walk away from her toxic behavior. She truly didn't know If she want to be in a comment relationship or be a hot girl. Her so call friends didn't make it any better. Was over joyed that her intuition finally kicked in, she was able to distinguish the really from the fake friends. This was good read, can't wait for the next read.
Bishop was really bae. But he met his match with Kiyor ! I love that she gave him a dose of his own medicine. There’s always a double standard between men & women. But kiyor did not GAF ! I loved how we could catch up on the rest of the GANG. I would love to see a spin off of Xena & Ryan
I enjoyed this one, Cee! But damn, Kiyor got on my nerves a lot 😆 Still, she was a really cool character and I loved Bishop for her. And it’s always nice to see that other characters from your previous books make an appearance—I appreciate that. You did it again, girl! Job well done 👌🏻
The author did an amazing job with this story the ups and downs and comedy made the ride even better the couples and family dynamics ins this read really has me invested I can’t wait for and update 💕!! Definitely a 5 star read I would recommend to all my friends 💕
Who wants that perfect love story anyway? Kiyor and Bishop stole my heart! This book was funny, crazy, dramatic sexy anything else good you can think of. They book weren’t looking but love moved in and turned their world upside down. Two ppl with similar mindsets can fall and feel love if they’re ready to receive it, great read
This whole read was crazy good first read from this author but I will look her. I'd DFL this whole read with this crazy set of characters. Kiyor give me the gurl all of us wish we were. Bishop was definitely cra-cra!!!One thing I really like was I added something new music to my repertoire
I enjoyed Kiyor and Bishop’s love story. There were moments when her behavior was just too much. I was becoming irritated with her as well as the numerous amount of song lyrics. It just wasn’t necessary. Overall, it was and entertaining read. I will go back and read the books on characters mentioned.
Great read! This book was so relatable when it came to friends and even the dating scene. Bishop and kyori were toxic, maybe because she was young and free, and he was a little older and mature. She did give off that vibes to be real. Overall, I'm glad they got it together at the end. Her friends were fake as hell. This was a great standalone read
If you like them paid, easy on the eye and a little crazy well thats it right here. I like Cion Lee's writing with how she incorporates lyrics into the storyline, she isn't to caution so there's a bit (read that as a lot) of risque behaviour and stunts which I'm all up for also black love man, vould it get any more fulfiling also HEA is where I'm at.
Another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ banger. Yori was definitely captured what it means to be a hot girl and showed us what a hot girl summer really looks like. Bishop didn’t play about her. It was hilarious to see Johan and Keiko’s reactions to their antics. Great read!
