The boy I fell for was my superstar. Now, he's a rock legend.
Their love was like a song, full of body and the right notes…
Aya Aldringham ran away from Nash’s betrayal, and her continued feelings, and she’s still running all these years later. She’s shut down, erecting fences too tall to scale.
An unexpected marriage proposal leaves Aya second-guessing her life choices—including what she wants and who she desires.
Nash never recovered from that night, and he has a big chip on his shoulder thanks to Aya’s ghosting.
Drugs and alcohol fill the hole Aya left … but playing to sold-out crowds no longer holds much appeal. Fame ripped them apart, but maybe an old enemy can give them a second chance because…
While crowds might clamor for just one touch, one look…
He only wants hers.
CRAVING OBLIVION is book 2 in the angsty bestselling rockstar romance series OBLIVION. Start reading now—and fall in beat with Nash and Aya's heart-stealing romance!
With a degree in international marketing and a varied career path that includes content management for a web firm, marketing direction for a high-profile sports agency, and a two-year stint with a renowned literary agency, award-winning author Alexa Padgett has returned to her first love: writing fiction.
Alexa spent a good part of her youth traveling. From Budapest to Belize, Calgary to Coober Pedy, she soaked in the myriad smells, sounds, and feels of these gorgeous places, wishing she could live in them all—at least for a while. And she does in her books.
She lives in New Mexico with her husband, children, and Great Pyrenees pup, Ash. When not writing, schlepping, or volunteering, she can be found in her tiny kitchen, channeling her inner Barefoot Contessa.
Aya and Nash are still apart in this introspective part of our story. The running, denial, and heartbreak both are living cannot continue. They are both lying to themselves. Finally, truths are revealed about those supposed to guide and shape us rather than manipulate. Will Nash and Aya get to talk to each other honestly? I was not prepared for the emotions that the imagery created by this author's writing. I ended this installment full of hope, and I am excited to read the next book.
Thank you to the author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
I love this series so far. Nash and Aya have both had a really hard and emotional life. This picks up where the last story left off and Aya is now in London and Nash is on tour. Both miss each other desperately but the are both mad because they both think that the other betrayed them. I teared up multiple times while reading this book. The ending left me wondering what would happen in the next story. What did Aya mean? What was Nash going to say? I can't wait to read the next book. I00% recommend this whole series. It is heart wrenching and beautiful so far. I received a review copy of this story from the author and am leaving a voluntary honest review.
This book FF a little bit from the last, Aya and Nash are still apart. He’s life is miserable and falling apart without her and hers is miserable without him. They see each other a few times and Aya still doesn’t understand what actually happened that night, maybe she will finally listen and understand that Nash never meant to hurt her. There are new revelations about their families as well. Aya gets help from an unlikely source in her attempt to maybe get Nash back.
As with book 1 I cried my eyes out for Nash, he is just suffering so much for someone with such a big heart. I am hoping he gets the HEA he wants and truly deserves. 5/5 ⭐️ can’t wait to see where Aya and Nash go from here.
I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest review .
After the ending of book one, I needed book two right away! Nash and Aya "grow" up a bit apart, but they are so much better together. I love the raw emotion Alexa is able to bring to her stories. They leave you ripped open and wanting more! Craving Oblivion was a great addition to the series!
Craving Oblivion is the second book in the Oblivion series which means you MUST READ Sweet Oblivion (Book 1) FIRST! Aya feels betrayed by the love of her life, Nash, who is now a huge rockstar, so she ran from it all & completely shut down. Nash never got over that moment in time either, so he's self-destructing. I tell you, I wanted to shake both of them because of all this pain that may or may not have been alleviated had they just had a grown up conversation. It really seems like there's no way that they can actually get past all the obstacles so this story totally did my emotions in because I could feel everything. I do believe that maybe they just weren't ready for his fame because we all know when that is happening, there will be people out there ready to do whatever it takes to separate a couple like them. Their story isn't over of course, so I know that Alexa Padgett isn't done destroying all of our hearts LOL! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Nash Porter and Aya Aldringham have moved into adulthood from their huge blow up as a high school couple. The scars and pain have followed them both continuing to affect their lives and decisions. As both work to find ways to deal with that pain unhealthy choices are made. The real work is finding their way back to healthy, and maybe their way back to each other.
This book is the second in the Oblivion trilogy. Well written, steady pace this book will wring the emotions from your heart. For Nash. For Aya. For Nash and Aya. The cost of addiction, of closing off emotions are spread out with compassion, with honesty. Supporting characters are important continuing this story. They show how the addicts actions and lack of self care affect all of those around them. Beautiful and raw story that made me cry, made me happy. I received an Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review.
Craving might be an understatement and part two with Nash and Aya is just as frustrating and intriguing as book one. A little older but not that much wiser these two broke each other's heart and tried to move on, unsuccessfully of course. He spiralled with addiction to numb the loss and she tried to move on in London with her father and new admirer Alistair though he couldn't compare. I know we are far from the end with these two and this book gutted me not having them together but I'm addicted to them and am worried what other issues or obstacles could be coming for them. Either way I'm in deep, so bring it, I know it will be worth it. I received an advanced copy of this book for my honest opinion.
A great follow up to Sweet Oblivion. Craving Oblivion also leaves you with a cliffhanger. If you've read Sweet Oblivion, I'm sure you will also love this one. If you haven't, it can be read as a standalone. I've loved following the story of Nash and Aya and learning how their families and pasts have shaped them. I can't help but pull for them to be together! Can't wait to read the next book in this series! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I need the next one immediately. Nash and Aya are both so well written and so easy to root for. The connection these two have is so strong that seeps off the pages and it as hard to put my kindle down
At the risk of repeating myself, I’m going to do just that and reiterate a bit of what I shared about Sweet Oblıvıon, the start of this series. This talented storyteller is largely responsible for me liking the rock star romance genre. She also gave me my forever book boyfriend who will have a place in my heart until the day I die. No question I would jump into Nash's story with both feet.
If ever there were two people who belong together, it's Nash and Aya. With him saving her from the tumbling surf when they were five and then fate bringing them together again in high school, it's just so swoony. Sadly, this part of their journey is very little hearts and flowers and very much where the rubber meets the road.
Young love doesn’t have the maturity to sustain itself when life intrudes, vıle people interfere, and tragedy strikes. This part of the story is raw, authentic, and heartbreaking. We see both Nash and Aya's pain and devastation and the unhealthy mechanisms they choose to hide, cover up, and cope. We may not get to the HEA, but we're definitely left on a more positive note at the end of this segment of their journey.
So wait until the final book is out, or read along and bite your nails waiting with many of us, but read this story. It's ride after ride of roller coaster emotions, making the lows more ruinous and the highs more precious. Easily Padgett's best work to date, this extraordinary, evocative, unforgettable series is one you absolutely don’t want to miss!
Craving Oblivion is the second book in the Oblivion series by Alexa Padgett. The story of Aya, the daughter of aristocratic parents and Nash the son of famous celebrities met fell in love and in one night that love was destroyed by tragedy and a misunderstanding. Nash went on to becomes a famous rock star but with fame comes problems there were secrets, deception, alcohol and drugs until he is a she'll of himself. Aya ends up living with her Vicount father in an English castle and trying to figure out who she is. Both have been longing for each other for years and what they had but it takes Nash hitting rock bottom and an old nemesis of Aya's to bring them together to face their fears, misunderstanding and admit their feelings to each other. Will they come together and work their problems out? The story continues I'm the third book. This series keeps you intrigued and waiting for the next book.
What a great follow up from the first book. It is well written and make you want more. I love the storyline and the characters in it. I just cannot wait for more!
I’ve written many reviews, and starting one off is alwaysthe most difficult part. After reading Craving Oblivion, the best way to start this review is to say “Apt name!”. Our main characters (as well as the supportingcast) seem to all Crave Oblivion from their current situations: from Nash and his loss of Aya into his downspin, to Aya mourning the loss of Nash and her mother; to Nash’s mother’s spiral—and so on. The pain that filters through this book is palpable, and the author knows just how to express it where the characters live and breathe for the reader. You understand why they hurt without a lot of musings and longwinded explanations. They exist, and you are a part of this. For readers that missed the first book, Nash and Aya shared a tie that might be unraveling but isn’t broken. Their lives are moving forward separately due to a grave miscommunication yet there is still unfinished business. It’s the story of their personal growth during this turbulent time and how loss hurts but makes you grow stronger. No matter how affluent the family, these characters are reacting and coming to terms with personal pain on so many levels.I’d like to also address the secondary characters who augment, expand and intensify the passion. They take a strong role in the story development, whether it be actively inhibiting momentum or facilitating the healing. They’re strong characters in their own right. Typically, secondary characters aren’t allowed to outshine the principles, however this author has the skills to bring it all forward. And with regard to secondary characters, they have their own stories, too! Readers: if you want more of Cameron and his family, check out the “Austin After Dark” Series, too!I’m waiting for Book 3!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This series is killing me but in the best way. This is a continuing series about Nash Porter and Aya Aldringham. Since this is book two, you have to start with Sweet Oblivion before reading this one. This book begins with the main characters a few years older and still apart after the awful cliffhanger from the previous book. Nash is a huge rockstar and he hasn't been wise in his attempts to fill the hole Aya left behind. He is filling the space she left with drugs and alcohol. My heart really ached for his constant struggle. Aya is now living in London with her father and the new man in her life, Alistair. But without each other, they could be surrounded by numerous people and still be alone, without each other. If they would just talk to each other. I never want to be famous. Due to Nash's struggle, this book was really emotional for me. I desperately wanted the two of them to figure out how to be together again. I am truly loving this series and can't wait for the next book. This is my honest opinion, freely given.
This is the second book in the Oblivion series and time has moved on but Aya and Nash have not forgotten each other and both are still suffering from the pain of their break up. They have both moved on, Nash on tour with his band and Aya to England to live as a member of the British Aristocracy, a life she feels is empty and she wants to escape especially when she is fighting off would be suitors who only want her for who she is and her inheritance.
Even though they are apart Aya and Nash are still connected by their friends who are only too willing to impart news and gossip which is hurtful and confusing and continues to fuel the fire of blame and mistrust. Each time they run into each other they relive the memory of the night they broke up which has led Nash into a world of booze and drugs and eventually rehab.
This installment of Aya and Nash's story is really heartbreaking, so much hurt, so much confusion. They are both suffering so much because they are so stubborn (especially Aya) and unwilling to find the truth and forgive even for the sake of their own happiness. At one point I wondered if Aya was so lost that she would marry Alistair but thank goodness she didn't, and who would have guessed that nasty Lindsay from high school the reason for their breakup would the one to help to put them back together again (of course she had her own selfish reasons).
The very talented Alexa has written a compelling and believable love story and it is not over yet. We have two more books to go and I am sure their relationship will continue to be a roller coaster ride to the end.
*****Craving Oblivion #2 (ARC) by Alexa Padgett: intense and edgy So so mad at Aya…. Because. Her incredible hurt and pain result in flight, and avoidance. And then mind numbing substances for Nash. Their story is edgy, painful, and intense, with underlying deep connections that keep them from moving on. Full of emotion and need and years of numbness. This story concludes with hope —looking forward to book 3. Moving quote: “NOW matters a fuck-ton, because we have it. We have a chance to make it what we want it to be.” —PTATORS
Craving Oblivion continues the saga of Aya and Nash, with Nash on tour and Aya living in England. With a huge misunderstanding between them, both try to move forward after their breakup. While Nash descends into a dark abyss, Aya tries to find her footing in her new life across the pond. Years pass. Will Nash and Aya find their way back to each other? Stay tuned and read more of their story in the next book in the series, Sultry Oblivion. (This book ends on a cliffhanger as Aya and Nash reconnect.)
Craving oblivion by Alexa Padgett was one of my best books I have read in a very long time .I cannot express of much I adore both Aya and Nash , they are such wonderful characters who are going though so much . My heart breaks for them so much . Since opening the first book in the series I have genuinely been 100% addicted. This awesome story has all the feels , it’s full of emotion and angst , it had my full attention from start to end and left me wanting so much more . I cannot recommend this highly enough. It is q must read
I really enjoyed the second book in this series. Wow what an emotional book. I wanted to wring Nash's neck on several occasions. Living a life of destruction and both living lives of unhappiness and hate. I was excited to see these two find each other again. Hopefully Nash won't screw this up again. This author did a fabulous job of making you feel what the characters felt. I really am enjoying this series. Definitely recommend this series and can't wait for the next book.
A great read for the second book in a series! Hate is next to love (they say) and Nash and Aya had both due to being hurt by each other. Love can take some rough turns and to dig out is a monstrous feat. Both comes from broken bones and Nash's dad was a music star which didn't help with women throwing themselves at the band members including Nash. Aya was holed up in Boston and going from one guy to the next. Such good writing and easy reading, although very sad at times.
Finding a way back to each other. It's not a easy feat for these two. Aya and Nash have such an emotional history that it just stream rolls them both over the edge. I felt Aya's heartbreaking every time she heard Nash's name. I felt broken every time Nash took another drink to numb the darkness where there used to be night. I'm so glad I picked this novel up because it reminds you to be true to yourself.
If the first book was childhood sweetness this book is crammed full of angst and heartbreak. It’s been a while since I have had the time to just sit and read but today I made time ans read this book from cover to cover with out pausing. I am loving this story and can’t wait to dive into the next one!
Nash is just trying to forget what happened between him and Aya anyway he can. She is doing the same . Pain can take you down paths you normally wouldn't go. Can they forget or does fate step up? My heart just went out to these two. I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review
The angst from the first book continues in this book. Aya and Nash are apart. This book brings to life the misery the two are feeling. They both are living hollow lives. Nash is a big time rock star but gets lost in grief and turns to alcohol and drugs. Aya cannot feel and allows herself to be led by others. Her father and Allistair are determining her life and she is just going along. They see each other a few times over the years but they can't get past the hurt. The author does a wonderful job in pulling in the reader to the emotions these two are feeling or not feeling but hiding from. The ending gives hope that they may reconnect, but it will be a long road.
This is book two in A Bad Boy Rockstar Romance Series and it continues Aya and Nash's story and omg it is an emotional and must read. Nash's band Oblivious has reached the top with well out tours but the one person that he will never forget and needs by his side is Aya the one person that he loves and Nash feels like his life is spiralling out of control but it seems like she has moved on without him so when Nash's mom is killed in a crash in Milan Aya turns up at the funeral but things don't go as planned. Aya wishes that she hadn't left Austin as London just doesn't feel like home and then throw in her father who has his own agenda and things become even more complicated especially as she also misses Nash so much. The connection and chemistry between Aya and Nash is still as strong as ever but there is so much baggage and hurt between them that will they ever be able to reconcile their differences before it is to late. I absolutely loved this book and couldn't put it down as it was a real page turner and totally addictive. There are twists and turns along the way and the characters and storyline pulled you in right from start and keeps your attention until the last page and I can't wait to read the next book in this amazing series but just remember that you will need to read the previous book to get all the background history. Alexa Padgett is an amazing author and writer and the depth of her stories is what keeps you coming back to read more of her books.
This series is #authorgoals! I love everything about this series. It encompasses love, hate, fear, denial, longing, and desire. Aya and Nash are a story I could read over and over and never get tired of reading.
Like expected the second book in this series did not disappoint. This story continues with a lot of growing up, realizing what is important, asking and seeking help, and realizing past regrets and mistakes. So excited for this story to continue
Appearances aren't what they seem. Misunderstandings causing so much hurt. Each go their separate ways and try to block out the hurt and forget what they had, but the love is strong. Well written and edited. Hurry! Get me the next book! I received an ARC for an honest review.
The series about Nash and Aya continues, but no spoilers here. I love how Ms. Padgett weaves a story, creating so much emotion and angst. This book is exactly as described, and so worth your time ~ after you've read book 1 of course.
In this second book in the series we follow Aya and Nash's lives after the events of the first book, which changed their lives forever. After Aya's disappointment with Nash, she moved to London and, in order not to suffer, ended up building walls around her heart and not really getting involved with anyone, meanwhile, Nash has become a rock star, but who uses of drinks and pills to cloud the pain of not having Aya by his side. When events in Nash's life bring him and Aya face to face again, things don't go as expected, but when an old enemy sets out to help the two get together, should they trust her? I look forward to reading more about these two characters. I highly recommend the reading.
