Against their better judgment, Ann and Rhonda agree to help a young girl in distress at the request of the vice-president of the United States, Amelia Swanson. After almost losing their lives because of an earlier request of hers, they plan on being more careful. Amanda Rogers was an intern for Senator Worthington’s office when she was drugged at a staff party and got pregnant. Now, alone without parental support, she and her friend, Jax Thomas, arrive at the hotel to wait out the last weeks of pregnancy in privacy. Senator Worthington and his wife want to adopt Mandy’s baby girl, but she’s made no promises. Jax would like to marry Mandy and raise the baby with her, but Mandy’s parents have made it clear that Jax deserves better than someone like her, and Mandy’s torn. After vowing not to interfere, Ann and Rhonda find it more and more difficult to stay neutral. But they have other things on their minds. Aubrey Lowell, who almost ruined The Beach House Hotel managing it, their old nemesis, Brock Goodwin, and a couple of others have opened a nearby hotel called The Sand Castle, a playground for the hip, and have every intention of destroying The Beach House Hotel, no matter what it takes. There is much to celebrate as happy news from both families and the hotel is shared by all. As Ann and Rhonda agree, life can sometimes be as sweet as one of Jean-Luc’s desserts at The Beach House Hotel.

It's like visiting old friends to return to the Beach House Hotel and catch up with Ann and Rhonda. They are dealing with a request from the Vice President, a young pregnant girl and a pair of old enemies opening a new hotel to compete with their boutique hotel. And, most important, babies - lots of babies.
The Vice President asks them to find a room for Maddy, a young girl who got pregnant when someone drugged her at a DC party. Her parents have disowned her and she has plans to give up her baby to a popular Senator and his wife. Does she really want to give up her baby or keep it and develop her relationship with Jax, a friend from her younger days?
Aubery and Brock opened a nearby hotel called The Sand Castle, a playground for the hip and their plan is to put The Beach House hotel out of business.
Along with all the stress of their day to day lives, both of them become grandmothers when their daughters have babies and along with the Mandy's baby, there is a lot of joy in both families.
This has been a fantastic series. Readers can always depend on Judith Keim to give them a book about strong woman in great locations. This series has another plus for me because the women are older and have a lot of life experience. So pack your bags and head to Florida for a stay at the Beach House Hotel...you're going to love it!
NOTE: The books can be read as standalones but to get maximum enjoyment, read all of these books in order.
Judith Keim takes us back to The Beach House Hotel where owners Ann and Rhonda do what they do best and look after the guests that stay at their establishment. The VP of America has once again asked them for a favour and how can they so no, even though it’s against their better judgement, they agree. A young girl, Amanda Rogers, who is pregnant and needs a quiet place to make a life-changing decision and Ann and Rhonda will do everything in their power to make sure she has a quiet place to make her decision without getting personally involved. In the mix is Amanda’s best friend Jax, and the couple who want to adopt her baby, a powerful senator who is not making this easy on Amanda. Of course, there is their neighbor and nemesis Brock still trying to make trouble for them, and family and friends who have happy and sad things going on in their lives which have the attention of Ann and Rhonda and the day-to-day running of the hotel. But of course, these women take everything in their stride and give their attention to all. There is never a dull moment at The Beach House Hotel.
I loved this book and it brings back all the wonderful people who have become like friends when reading this series, and new people to add to the family like Amanda and Jax. You can’t help but love Amanda, and you will need to have a few tissues handy as her background story will have you shedding tears on how she has had to live her life and then in the same breath feel anger at the people in her life who have made her think less of herself. And Jax, every mother reading this book will want him for their daughters. He is an upstanding young man, who loves Amanda and would marry her in a minute, but he is giving her the space she needs during this time to make up her mind. But he will be there every step of the way with her, doing whatever she needs done.
It is a heartwarming and beautiful women’s fiction as only Judith Keim can do with her wonderful character’s, amazing location and family and friends who’s daily lives circle around Ann and Rhonda and The Beach House Hotel.
This book is a solid 5 Stars and I will look forward to seeing if we are going to get more of The Beach House Hotel and if you have not read this series, I suggest you add it to your TBR list, you won’t be sorry.
I was given a copy of this book to give my honest review by the author.
I always enjoy returning to The Beach House Hotel, if feels like I am visiting old and dear friends. As always I love the book, and the author of this series. She has the ability to tell such wonderful stories, and I seem to connect with the characters in her books. I certainly would recommend this book to everyone.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher Wild Quail Publishing, and I am under no obligation to leave a favorable review the opinions expressed here are my own.
This is a perfect summer escape reading. A story about compassion for others and giving to others.. I enjoyed this continuing saga in the series. The coastal setting is picturesque , the charcters all add to the story and the author has included surprises for the reader in this next in series.
Book Review: It is indeed a treat for the reader best served with a cup of coffee or tea.
Dessert at The Beach House Hotel by Judith Keim
In the sixth installment of The Beach House Hotel series, Dessert at The Beach House Hotel is scrumptious. While it is a stand alone novel, it helps to know the backstory of its characters. Author Judith Keim, adds in just enough bits of information to keep the reader informed to follow along the story. Yet, it also inspires to read books 1-5. There’s a lot of spilled tea to hear about in those books and maybe a few cookies too.
The story’s surface theme seems to be the miracle of birth. Secondary is people in power bullying others to get their way in an under current of added conflict. Because of this, the reader can’t help but root for the characters associated with The Beach House Hotel. There’s a third thread of thought subtly running alongside the others. Tradition versus non-tradition. Is younger/hipper always better in our youth obsessed society? Or is a societal religious reputation more important than a young family member? The score should be tied with a balance in between, not a zero-sum game.
For instance, wondering what Amanda Rogers will decide regarding the fate of her unborn child keeps the pages turning. Will she go along with the planned adoption, or will she keep this bundle of joy for herself? And will her parents ever accept her again with either decision?
Will the senator who is used to getting his way, bully everyone to meet his agenda?
And will the competing hotel aimed at the next young, hip thing win over the guests destroying the traditional, quality service at The Beach House Hotel?
For such a large cast of characters with intertwined threads, this is a leisurely paced story best served with a cup of coffee or tea. It is indeed a treat for the reader and a delightful way to spend a day cozied up with these characters.

Once again, Judith Keim takes us back to The Beach House Hotel with her sixth book in the series called Dessert at The Beach House Hotel. Anytime you pick up a book in a Judith Keim series, it is like going home to visit with old friends. There is a comfort in catching up with the characters you have come to know and love, and this book offers just that and more.
Ann and Rhonda have been asked by Vice President Amelia Swanson to help a young pregnant girl in trouble. This is the second time they have been asked for a favor, and after being put in danger the last time, they are skeptical. They are assured that there is no risk involved this time, so they agree to help. After all, once thing Ann and Rhonda know how to do best is to take care of their customers at The Beach House Hotel.
Amanda (Mandy) Rogers worked as in intern for Senator Worthington's office, and she was drugged at a staff party which resulted in pregnancy. Everyone has turned their back on Amanda, including her family. The senator and his wife would like to adopt the baby once born, but Amanda has not decided what to do yet. In the meantime, she has been sent to The Beach House Hotel to wait out the remainder of her pregnancy in some privacy.
Jax Thomas is Amanda's friend, and he accompanies her to the hotel. Jax is in love with Amanda and would marry her in a heartbeat and help her raise the baby. However, Jax is there strictly as her friend to offer support, and he is giving her the time and space she needs to decide what she wants to do. This is not the time to put any type of pressure on her while she is already trying to deal with so much going on.
Overall, this is another outstanding addition to The Beach House Hotel series. Judith Keim writes from the heart, and that always shows in her characters and storylines. One thing I always look forward to is catching up with the old characters from previous books, but I also love being introduced to the new characters as well. Amanda and Jax are well-written characters, and it is pure joy to see how they progress as the story is told. These are characters that you truly feel for and can relate to.
Judith Keim is an author that writes heartfelt and emotional women's fiction, with realistic storylines and amazing character development. The Beach House Hotel series always has a huge focus on family, friends, and trying to help those in need. This latest installment is a testament to her ability to draw the reader in and completely immerse them in her fictional world. Dessert at The Beach House Hotel is another heartwarming triumph for the Beach House Hotel series!
I received and ARC from the author. My views are my own, and are in no way influenced by anyone else.
Dessert at The Beach House Hotel is the sixth book in the Beach House Hotel series by Judith Keim and it did not disappoint. I was sucked right in to the story with characters I've met before along with some new ones that added another layer to the story. Ann and Rhonda own the small boutique hotel and it is once again front and center along with them and their families. It was nice to see what they are up to now.
The Vice President of the United States once again asks for their help in housing someone at their hotel for privacy reasons. Mandy is a teen who has been disowned by her parents when she went against their wishes and became pregnant even though it was not by choice. I feel there was more story to tell regarding this thread and wonder if it will be part of a future story. Mandy and her friend, Jax worked well together and I liked how their relationship unfolded.
There were many stories being told and woven together that added a richness to the book. There are wonderful descriptions throughout that were vivid and made me feel like I was there. The story had a nice flow and kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next. There were both happy times and some that had a darkness to it. There is some closure but it seems to me that there will be more stories to tell. The cover has a softness about it.
Ms. Keim is an author who has fast become a go-to one for me. I've only read the last two books in this series but hope to rectify that soon and read the first four. I loved the Desert Sage Inn series along with some of her other books that I have read. Give her books a try if you haven't already!
I received a free copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I rated the book 4.5 stars but rounded to 5 stars here and on other sites.
I’ve read this whole series as a “palate cleanser” from my usual intense realistic choices in teen literature. Escapism sometimes offers other challenges. Main characters add friends and new family members are born and some die, enemies and events come and go, some seriousness but mostly fluff. What bothered me most? The author created a family for one of the characters in #6, didn’t flesh them out at all, made them into horrible judgmental stereotypes with no redeeming features. At least the other “enemies” in her stories had motives for their behaviors, but this couple was demonized for being Christian believers with no soft sides at all, just rotten people. The bitter portrayal set my teeth on edge and I’m glad I’m done with the series, and this author. All the other characters were created with care, but she made this parental unit as simply one dimensional, barely mentioned, except to be the evil in the storyline. Not lazy writing, it was a concerted direct attack. Sorry I wasted my time.
Ann and Rhonda runs the Beach Hotel. It is all about privacy, good service, good staff and good food. When Vice-President Amelia Swanson asked if they would let a young woman named Amanda Rodgers, Mandy as she’s called, stay there because she’s pregnant and is under a lot of stress. She works for Senator Worthington’s office as an intern. She went to a staff party and was drugged. Now she’s pregnant and her parents want nothing to do with her or her baby. The Senator and his wife wants to adopt it. She is deciding if she wants to give the baby up for adoption or keep it. She’s confused. Mandy made no promises. He best friend, Jax Thomas brought her there. He’s helping her for the duration of her pregnancy. He is looking for work while he stays there. He wants to open his own landscaping business. He gets a job at the hotel. He loves the work. He also loves Mandy but she doesn’t believe she’s worthy of his love, especially after her parents told her, she wasn’t. Mandy is starting to relax a little, so when Ann’s daughter is looking for someone to work with her, Mandy said she would love to. The more time she spends with Jax, the more time she realizes that she loves him. Will she finally accept his love for her and her baby? Will they become a family? Will she give up her baby? This is a wonderful read. Well worth the time to read it. Judith Kim always brings it.
Partners Rhonda and Ann have so many issues surrounding them as they continue with the day-to-day operations of their upscale Beach House Hotel. It’s such a tribute that these gals acknowledge each other’s skills but always have each other’s back not only for business but for family circumstances as well.
Sweetness also involves babies and they play prominently in this story whether it’s problems with fertility or helping other members of the two families with very young babies. It also factors in when a guest at the hotel arrives at the request of the VP. Amanda, a young pregnant teenager, is there to await the last few weeks of her pregnancy and to make her decision for her unborn child. Will Rhonda and Ann be able to remain impartial on this heady issue? Their nemesis has a new project to try to provide a threat to the success of the Beach House.
Enjoy a slice of Beach House Hotel while dreaming of the exquisite desserts and pastries prepared by the staff.
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Dessert at the Beach House Hotel by Judith Keim is another heartwarming season with Ann and Rhonda. Oh, how delightful it would be to enjoy one of Jean-Luc’s desserts! Amelia Swanson, the vice-president of the United States calls and asks if the two friends will make a room available for a former intern, Amanda Rogers. Mandy served in the office of Senator Worthington and was drugged while attending a staff party. The result of her assault is an unexpected pregnancy. The VP would like to help Mandy spend the remainder of her pregnancy at the Beach House Hotel where she will have privacy, especially since her parents refused to allow Mandy to return home in her condition. Mandy is accompanied by her best friend Jax. There is news and competition in the neighborhood! Some investors, with the help of the despicable Aubrey Lowell and Brock Goodwin, have renovated a hotel they named The Sand Castle to market to younger guests as the ultimate fun place to stay. Their plan is to cause the Beach House Hotel to falter financially due to lower occupancy. This causes a bit of concern for Ann and Rhonda, but the girls are smart and anticipate the game Lowell and Goodwin are playing. They also were protective of Mandy during her pressure from the Worthington's about her baby girl. I liked the main characters and enjoyed the interactions during the progression of the story! Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for the opportunity to read this book Publication Date: April 19, 2022
“Dessert at The Beach House Hotel” is the 6th book in Judith Keim’s The Beach House Hotel Series. When reading a book by Judith Keim I make sure my schedule is clear so I can spend the day reading. It has been fun going back to The Beach House and visiting with Annie and Rhonda. I loved catching up with the characters. This like the other books in the series is very well written has well developed and likable characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. This is the 6th book in the series but can be read as a standalone but I would highly recommend reading the whole series. The way Judith describes The Beach House is so vivid it makes me want to go there. I don’t know how she does it but every book is better than the last. What are you waiting for get started reading this wonderful series. I was provided an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for my unbiased review.
I am loving this series. I would love to stay at the Beach Hotel and I would definitely partake of some of those scrumptious deserts by Jean-Luc that they serve. I really enjoyed the different stories of the characters, who are awesome. It’s like real life as you are reading this book. I get so caught up in what is going on, it’s like I’m right there feeling their feelings and emotions. I love how the story flows and I never want it to end. I am already looking forward to my next visit with Annie, Rhonda, and their families and friends. I received an ARC of this book, but my opinion is my own.
This book was full of drama, family, weddings, romance, good times, and bad times which made it so much fun to read. I really liked returning to Rhonda and Ann's baby, The Beach Hotel to find out what had happened since the last book. I liked that this book did not disappoint me. It also made me realize that to everything there is a season, as this book clearly proved. Wonderful characters, wonderful times, and heartache made this book a lot of fun to read. It also made me want one of the hotel's cinnamon rolls. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Against their better judgement, Ann and Rhonda have agreed to take in and care for Amanda Rogers at their hotel at the request of the vice-president of the United States. She was working for Senator Worthington when at a staff party she was drugged and left pregnant. The Senator and his wife want to adopt the baby and have agreed to pay for her stay. However, Amanda isn’t sure she wants to give the baby up. Jax is there with her and is in love with her and actually is ready to marry her. There is a lot to this story and a lot of things going on at the same time. It will definitely pull at your heart and you will hope the right decisions are made for everyone in the end.
This was a great read and I really liked Ann and Rhonda's friendship and how they balance each other out and they need it as they have new friends to make with their latest guest and her friend she brings as well as things going on in their own lives and someone also trying to hurt their hotel. You get a great story to be immersed in as well as great characters to connect with and the need to turn the page to see how things will pan out for everyone. I haven't read the other books in this series but found I could still follow along things that had previous happened however did make me want to go back and read the others! :)
Rhonda and Ann are wonderful characters, while running the Beach front Hotel they continue to help those in need, while looking after their own family. With loss and new beginnings for both friends , this series is heartfelt and will inspire many readers. I do hope this series continues as the friends have many moments left to share.
The story is heartwarming, beautifully and well written, holds your attention and pulls you in. The characters are charming, endearing and easy to get to know. A great read while sitting on the beach, curled up on the couch or sitting on your front porch escaping your everyday, hectic life for a small amount of time.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another great stay at the Beach House Hotel! Annie and Rhonda are great characters and always fun. Enjoyed the Mandy storyline and the romance between her and Jax. It's great to see all of the additions to the families too. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is book 6 in the Beach House Hotel series. While it is definitely possible to read and enjoy this book on its own, I think it would be preferable to have become acquainted with the background and characters by reading earlier books first.
Ann and Rhonda have a classy, warm, and gracious beachfront hotel. They have been asked by the female VP of the United States to temporarily house a young pregnant woman. It turns out that she arrives with her best friend (male) from home. Both young people are confused, but they care deeply for each other. Ann and Rhonda start to develop emotions for both, but there are a couple of large factors looming in the background.
Additionally, the hotel owners have some new competition in a "fun, playground" hotel opening close by. The new proprietors are determined to hurt The Beach House Hotel in any way they can.
Meanwhile, but Ann's and Rhonda's families are undergoing changes and growth.
This is a fun woman's book to read. There are interpersonal issues, business issues, family issues, and a whole lot of love. Romantic love is mentioned, but there aren't intimate details.
I recommend this book for older readers or mature young adults.
I received an advance reader copy from the author. This is my honest review.
There's always something going on at The Beach House Hotel. Owners Ann and Rhonda take in a young, single pregnant girl as a favor to the Vice President, so what could possibly go wrong? This book 6 of this wonderful series, but can also be read as a stand alone. You will fall in love with the characters. Judith Keim has done it again! This is a must read. I was grateful to the author for an advanced copy to read and review.
I really love this #TheBeachHouseHotelSeries. The two main characters, Ann & Rhonda, keep me coming back for more. I enjoyed another story involving the female VP, Amelia Swanson, working with the ladies to help another woman in need. These stories #JudyKeim creates with such a wonderful cast of characters are just what’s needed for the perfect read.
Ann and Rhonda are once again asked for a favor from the Vice President. The Vice President has asked they help find a room for Maddy, a young pregnant woman that was drugged at a DC party. She and a close friend need somewhere to live while she decides whether or not to keep her baby. Her parents have disowned her, and she has nowhere to go. In addition to this, their archenemy, Brock has partnered with Aubery to open a hip hotel in hopes of putting The Beach House out of business. I thoroughly enjoyed the 6th book of The Beach House Hotel Series. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book for my unbiased review.
Lots of babbies! Brock joins forces with Aubrey from book 4 to open a hotel in competition with the Beach House Hotel. Some characters from prior books reappear as Ann and Rhonda’s families continue to grow.
The Beach House Hotel series is one of my favorites. When a friend asks them to do a favor Ann and Rhonda reluctantly agree only to have their worst nightmares come true. Some twists and turns in this one.
We are back at the beach! I love the setting of this series. This book has another interesting story line and characters. The book is very entertaining and kept me turning pages to the end. I love Judith Keim’s easy to read writing style and ready for the next book in the series.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What a great story of Ann and Rhonda who agree to house a young pregnant girl, Mandy, at their hotel. Her parents have disowned her and feel she is unworthy of anything. Mandy had worked as an intern in the Senator's office, was at a staff party, was drugged and got pregnant. The Senator and his wife wanted to adopt Mandy's baby but she was so unsure what to do and would not sign any agreements. Mandy's old friend, Jax, accompanied her to the hotel and Ann gave him a job working on the property. To add more stress for Ann, another hotel opened nearby, The Sand Castle. Their plan was to ruin business for Ann and Rhonda. Lots of babies came into the family bringing so much joy and there was a death also. Can Jax and Mandy become more than friends? What decision will Mandy make for her baby? You will have to read this wonderful story to get your answers. I received an advanced free reader copy and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Always fun to catch up with Ann and Rhonda at the Beach House Hotel. Since this is dessert I wonder if this is the last in the series which is sad because they are a fun group and the books are an easy read. Both Ann and Rhonda's families continue to expand leaving room for plenty of stories. The characters are well rounded and the reader can imagine being friends with any of them. The plots are easy to follow and there is always a twist involved although the one in this book wasn't quite as in depth as previous books. This book is a great beach read and gave me several hours of enjoyment. The reader really needs to read the series from the beginning so the characters make sense and the story line flows. Recommend this book to anyone who likes romance.
