I got this devotional book because I knew and heard of Max Lucado's work. I knew that giving our cares and anxieties to God is one of the common themes in his books and You Can Count on God did not disappoint!
I thoroughly enjoyed the devotions as they spoke words of comfort, peace and gentleness over my heart and helped me set my mind on the right track. They are easy to read and short, so I never felt intimidated or rushed when I sat down to read in the morning before starting my day.
That being said, although the devotions were a delight to read, I felt that they didn't dig deep enough into the scriptures or theology as I personally would have liked. But I would recommend this book to everyone who wants a light read in the morning to set their minds on God before they go about their daily responsibilities. This book did the job!

This devotional book won’t (and should not) take the place of a deeper daily Bible study. But I’ve loved reading these short, thoughtful, encouraging devotions as a way to focus my thoughts on God when I first begin my day until I’m ready to sit down and focus on Bible study. As I begin this new year, I’m looking forward to going through this book again.
