At some point everyone asks the What happens when we die? Robert J. Grant, a popular writer, lecturer, and researcher in many areas of contemporary spirituality, offers a dramatic and encouraging look at the realms beyond physical death. The Place We Call Home is filled with the personal stories of those who have experienced the other side, either through death, communications from those who have died, or near-death experiences. These stories illuminate the answers to questions about messages from dead loved ones, the light-filled realms of the afterlife, and the real meaning of the "shadowlands." This is a hopeful and inspiring look at the dimension of life beyond the illusion of death and celebrates the eternal nature of the human soul.
'The Place We Call Home" was written in 2000 but the material was way ahead of it's time, particularly in educating people about death and what to expect when we cross over. If you've had any fears around dying this is one of the best books you could read. The author Robert J. Grant draws largely on the life, experiences, and readings of Edgar Cayce and many others to paint a vivid picture of what we can expect in the afterlife. Our emotional state at death plays a huge role in determining which realm or dimension we go to. We create our own heaven or hell, depending on our thoughts, life experiences and religious or spiritual beliefs. Robert Grant explains that death is largely an illusion--it's as easy as changing your overcoat or walking through a door. Paying attention to our dreams can be a huge help in crossing over since our dreams prepare us and show us the astral realms where we may reside. There is also a chapter on all the various ways our loved ones try to communicate with us after they have passed. Much of the book explains how to prepare for your own passing, the same way you would prepare for a major trip. Excellent book. Something everyone should read.
This book is amazing. I am so glad I sat down and read it. Although I haven't read about near death experiences and the afterlife in a while, I am happy that I chose this to read next. It brought up a lot of good topics and questions that I haven't really thought to ask about. I feel like I am better equipped with the knowledge within this book. This is based off of NDEs and Edgar Cayce's channeled material. I am a Cayce fan so this all resonates with me. Very good stuff. :)
A very interesting read. I do believe in life after death and reincarnation.
I gave it 5 stars as I believe in what it said. It carefully explains meditation and to do it. I believe in life after death and communication with love ones who have passed on. Great read and very intereresting.
Excellent. Feels like it will become a classic work, summarizes key teachings from Edgar and Hugh cayce
