Another great adventure in the Nate Todd series from Chris Smith.
This time Nate is up against a vicious gang of outlaws, seeking revenge for an earlier encounter involving a herd of cattle and some cattle rustlers. Nate is framed for murder and he's hunted by lawmen, outlaws, and bounty hunters.
There's a mysterious villain and a big plot twist at the end which makes this so different from normal westerns, while still keeping all of the traditional western elements that I love like gunfights, fistfights, horse riding, gunfighters etc.
I'd love to see the Nate Todd adventures on the big screen. I think they'd make awesome movies, and the Steve Savage adventures would be great as a series on Netflix or Amazon Prime.
The sequel to Nate Todd's Caught in the Crossfire is an absolute must read for all western fans! I thoroughly enjoyed reading about him again. He's got a Jack Reacher quality about him with his ability to get into trouble and then use his skills to get himself out.
I've been reading the Steve Savage, Bounty Hunter series and it was a great surprise to find the team in this adventure.
Nate finds himself in trouble and on the run with gunmen fighting to kill him and claim a reward. It's up to Bridget and his friends to clear his name, and boy do they have a hard time of it!
I found this book to be better than the first. Smith's writing has improved and he seems to have found his own easy-reading style.
Nathan and his ranch crew are confronted by cattle rustlers. One of the rustlers is the brother of the Blood Canyon gang. The action does not stop after this incident. Lots of gun battles and one terrible battle in town. Good to have Steve Savage and his bounty hunting team help in this story.
Another great adventure with the tough Nate Todd. The characters are relatable, the twists and turns in the plot will keep you on the edge of your seat and you'll taste the dust and savour the tastes and smells of the Old West.
