Never before has there been a real discovery where all the physical characteristics of a proposed location matched Plato’s description of Atlantis. Not even the original Santorini hypothesis could sufficiently meet the given criteria.
After years of extensive research, in conjunction with new archeological evidence, and with the aid of satellite technology, Christos A. Djonis credibly reveals that Plato based his story of Atlantis on a real prehistoric setting, now beneath 400 feet of water. We now have a real discovery where all the physical characteristics, along with Plato’s given chronology, flawlessly match, and they are precisely in the exact order as Plato depicted. Moreover, DNA and archaeological evidence of an advanced Neolithic civilization occupying the prehistoric submerged island, at around 9600 BC, further confirm a perfect case scenario.
“Finally, a study that gives a logical and well-supported documentation for the existence of Plato’s Atlantis! I was totally enthralled with this exciting piece of history…”
Those who know Christos best describe him as a serial entrepreneur. He is a professional business owner, a real estate investor, an upscale home designer-builder, and an award-winning best-selling author of non-fiction books—all "passion projects," as he calls them. CYPRUS - The Island of Aphrodite (2011), is a travel guide to the Greek island of Cyprus. UCHRONIA (2014), touches on several controversial topics, including Plato’s Atlantis. In 2017, “New York City Big Book Awards” voted UCHRONIA as one of their Distinguished Favorites! IT'S THE ECONOMY, STUPID! (2017), outlines the economic conditions that currently exist in the US. With dozens of charts and government data covering sixty years, it demonstrates beyond a reasonable doubt that Americans are worse off today than at any other time since 1968. In 2018, won Gold Awards from both the Independent Press Awards and NYC Big Book Awards. ATLANTIS - The Find of a Lifetime (2021), effectively reveals Atlantis' submerged island (a prehistoric setting now beneath 400 feet of water) and shows how Plato's 2000-year-old story ultimately transforms into real history. UCHRONIA - Updated and Expanded Edition (2021) is not just an extension or a more in-depth analysis of the original work published in 2014, but an opportunity to illustrate how several recent scientific events and archaeological discoveries now further support many of the earlier conclusions noted in the original edition.
As someone who has read a number of books by different authors on the topic of a forgotten, ancient, (relatively) advanced culture that has influenced our history, I found this theory interesting. My problems with this book come from both lack of citations and lack of proof. If you take the time to look, this book has an extensive bibliography. However, the number of footnotes listing where quotes or ideas come from is relatively few. This prevents the reader from going back and checking the source materials to verify that they are in context and accurate. The author also uses Wikipedia as a source for many articles. Because readers can alter what is written on Wikipedia, it cannot be used as a valid source for serious writing. Finally, (spoilers ahead) the author's discovery of what he believes was the actual island of Atlantis was made using Google Earth. Again, interesting, but it lacks any published oceanographic data proving that this plateau was in fact above water in the proper time frame. I would love to read a revised edition of this book with the proper citations and scientific data included. Until then, this is nothing more than an amateur's unproven theory.
Mr. Djonis has written two books that I just love, Atlantis: The Find of a Lifetime and Uchronia- Atlantis Revealed. If you read Uchronia, some of the same material is found in Atlantis however; it is much more detailed and has more thought provoking ideas. Plato's story of Atlantis (written about 360 BC) gives us information to locate this island; even though most of the island is now underwater.
I must say that both of the books, will give a reader pause, to think about the what if's and the why nots of this part history. If our history keeps changing; just think about the history regarding the city of Troy; once a thought of as a fable but located near Turkey. Why can't Atlantis be a real place and not just a cautionary tale?
Mr. Djonis states what he has found as facts and even he asks in the book, why can't this be real? After reading his book you will re-think everything you were taught in history class or even your literature class.
An excellent read for a book club, the questions, that will open discussions, are right in the chapters you are currently reading.
Mythology is a passion of mine, and I particularly love to explore the fine line that sometimes exists between myth and history. This book is an enjoyable read as it relates to this phenomenon. The author presents a strong case for his theory, proposing a location that fits the description of Atlantis provided by Plato. This is based primarily on changes in sea level in the Mediteranean since the supposed time of Atlantis, so the geography of many islands was quite different. Additional supporting evidence is also provided. But, however compelling the theory is, the book is compromised by not being particularly well written. The author would have benefited by partnering with an academic partner to present the ideas in a more scholarly fashion. Still, an interesting thesis, one which I hope gets more consideration and examination.
Meticulous Research Reveals The Hiding Place Of Atlantis
C A Dennis exhausts every possible clue to discover where to expect to find the prehistory location of the lost civilization. What happened to Atlantis, where did the population go? Many other mysteries are solved along the way to the answers to these questions. Put all the pieces together and you be surprised at the earth shacking conclusions
I’ve been interested in the effect of post glacial melting for several years and this book fits well with what I’ve learned. On the other hand, his theory about American contact, I’m less comfortable with. Frustrated that when I posted the book link to a Minoan archeology sight I was attacked heavily by the “Atlantis is a myth” and “Santorini is Atlantis” with equal venom. Another site refused to post the link. Sigh 😞
A most believable description of fabled and probably unprovable Atlantis
An enjoyable read with believable descriptions of an unprovable land that probably existed in earths past. The historical support contained in the book and supporting documents is very helpful. I much appreciate the effort put into the material and earnestness of Mr Djonis work. I will read more of his material.
I am very impressed with this book as it proves that people from Europe came here for centuries before even the Vikings. The author explains how this was done and it seems very likely that such a trip was actually within the means available perhaps thousands of years ago.
Very interesting research and conclusions but I'm not convinced. He says that he has met all of Plato's descriptions but neglects the most important one: that Atlantis was located in the Atlantic Ocean. The book is worth it for the research he's done though.
Was an interesting read. One of many well-researched theories about Atlantis, though this author’s location does seem the most plausible. Harder to swallow are his theories about Minoan contact with the Great Lakes region Indian tribes in the US. Entertaining reading though!
An interesting read that sparks the imagination. Well researched, it reads a bit more like a thesis than your typical history, but that works well with the subject matter.
