After a long hiatus, Charity Styles is itching to get back into the fray. She’s had a succession of minor assignments, none of which provided her with the action she craves. After months of recharging and rethinking her position in the Armstrong organization, she’s on the verge of walking away, returning to what could be a more normal life. But what’s a normal life look like for a former covert assassin? Then she gets two assignments, which have nothing to do with each other. The first is to ferry a group of people out to a large mega-yacht. When it turns out that one of those people is the girl she thinks of as a niece and the mega-yacht is captained by an old friend, she sets her sails and is quickly underway. What the second assignment is, will not only test Charity’s abilities as an undercover asset to the giant Armstrong Research conglomerate, but will also assess her ability to keep a lid on her emotions when faced with the type of people she most loathes. From the Cayman Islands to the Eastern Caribbean, the coast of Brazil, and finally, the U.S. Virgin Islands, her mental state is constantly being tested. Will she find the one person who is at the head of a vast sex trafficking operation? Or will she become just another victim to the traffickers? Will she even be able to restrain her inner demons when she encounters the worst of the worst of human society?

Non-stop Adventr

Another Charity Styles adventure that would have easily earned 5 stars except for the unnecessary foul language and gratuitous sex. The story would have read just as well without it!

In had to return to edit my original review by adding the following:
I retrospect, I was disappointed in the storyline ending that sets Charity up to fail. Given her backstory, i.e., being shot down, captured, tortured and raped, Wayne Stinnett uses the Armstrong Group to put her in a situation where her response is a given. Then, when she reacts as one would expect her to, i.e., finding the key pedophile raping an underage girl and staging his death as an accident, the Armstrong Group wants to debrief her and fire her. That ending to this story is wrong on so many fronts and I will give serious thought to skipping future Charity Styles novels!

Wayne Stinnett has very skillfully combined Charity Styles' latest mission with the foundation characters of Jesse McDermitt, his wife Savannah (Charity's best friend) and their daughter Florence, Chyrel and a couple of others. Those others being Armstrong agents Jerry Snyder and TJ. We get to see Jesse's new life as Captain of the Armstrong "research" yacht "Ambrosia" and a little deeper look into the world of what the Jack Armstrong organization is. This book gives us a view of the developments that lead up to the previously published account of Jerry Snyder and TJ operating in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. (On a side note, I don't like the Jerry and TJ characters.) The story moves along very quickly with the outcome being a surprise regarding Charity and when we might see her again, if ever. Charity again shows us that she is not someone to be taken lightly. She certainly lets her handler/boss Stockwell know what she thinks of him.
The next book "All Ahead Full" with Jesse McDermitt as Captain of the "Ambrosia" is available on Dec 6. I've got it on order already. Personally I'm ready for Jesse to get back to his island in the Content Keys in Florida for awhile with his friends and family and some of the previous characters
that we grew to like. Maybe it's time for a reunion of some of them in a forthcoming book by Wayne. Jesse's daughter and son-in-law. Are they still game wardens? Is Jimmy still chartering the "Gaspar's Revenge"? Is Rusty still operating the Rusty Anchor bar and grill? What became of the Key West shrimper and his little family that maintained Jesse's island then moved to Louisiana? I as a devoted reader enjoyed these characters in the "Fallen" and "Rising" series of Jesse McDermitt and Charity Styles and the original cast. The potential for future adventures seems to be great.

Nice to have Charity back.

I have enjoyed all Wayne Stinnett's books. It had been a while since the last Charity Stiles book, though she has made appearances in some of the other book series. She is a very complex yet interesting character. In this book I feel like I have gotten to understand her better and found her more likable, though I never disliked her before. While this book has threads from two previous non Charity Stiles books woven in, they are seen from Charity's perspective, which I enjoyed. Wayne Stinnett confessed in his Afterward that he finds writing the Charity Stiles books difficult, I hope he continues this series with many more, and with less time between them.

A twisted ending

Well, another wonderful book. And a truly surprise ending. It was a sad but so emotional ending of Tank I was surprised and impressed with the details of getting Tank home for his funeral. I’m impressed with Charity she sure can think of interesting ways for payback . I really enjoy her books I hope there will be more soon. Thank you for a book well worth reading Candylady

Great storyline

Tells a really good story, but could use some lessons on how to make it tougher and better in its telling.
Stories are usually quite unique but this one tends to recent headlines, which makes it more interesting because it's not the actual story, which is so horrible that I for one won't even read the details, but it puts it up as the target and tells another story based on that one. Tells you how it can happen, and how seemingly upstanding citizens with many friends in social, business, and political arenas, can actually work their business away from society's eyes and turn out to be worth a bullet or two.
Hope the author will get some advice. He gives lots of technical details which are probably loved by the enthusiasts in those world, and that worked well in Hunt for Red October, so it can work here,
too. Just need to tighten the test of the thoughts, dialogues, and movements to get rid of the extraneous stuff.

Charity helps expose underage trafficking

Wayne Stinnett delivers another fast paced Charity Styles thriller that keeps the pages turning. She goes undercover to help expose a person for two years has been taking advantage of underage girls from 🇵🇷 Puerto Rico and areas of the Caribbean.

However, leading up to conclusion an important member of Stinnett’s cast of characters loses fight with cancer. Charity has the Honor of Official Escort from Jesses ship to Island where they are met by Marine Honor Guard.

Charity proceeds to help end the underage issues with a way she is best known. ANOTHER Wayne Stinnett book that does not disappoint as was my experience!

CHARITY AT HER BEST AND WORST

Charity is given an assignment to simply gather intelligence which goes sideways. After sending in all of the information gathered and reporting back that the subject appeared to have self-terminated in remorse, Charity contemplates her future options….will Charity disappear into the Caribbean sunset, or will there be further adventures???? That is the burning question in this reader’s mind!

plagiarizing his own books

While a great story if you hadn’t read books previously released by this author, this book has very little original narrative. It’s just retelling Steady as She Goes and Wayward Sons from Charity’s point of view.

I’ve been reading all Wayne Stinnett’s books but guess it’s time to stop wasting my time. I’ll probably just stick with the Jesse books from now on.

As of Chapter 17, this is practically copied-and-pasted from a Caribbean Adventure Series novel.

While I enjoyed that novel, how does an author justify publishing a “new” novel that is rehashed from a previous book?

To be fair, not all of the Charity Styles series novels (I’ve read all of both series) are this redundant, but - wow - this is frustrating.

My suggestion: Read the Caribbean Adventure Series and skip the Charity Styles series.

EXCELLENT

Wayne has a great way of playing with your mind and getting you to think that you are standing in the middle of the story. He is able to hold your attention so well that after you start his book you can't put it down until after 3am.

Can't wait for the next book to arrive.

Please read his entire series, it is really worth your time.

Always Enjoyable but Lacking

I thoroughly enjoyed this continuing adventure of Charity Styles and her associates, especially the (spoiler alert) sad but charming and enlightening death and honoring of Tank. But the meat of the adventure was weak and not substantial enough and described almost as an afterthought! That, disappointed me somewhat!

Wayne Stinnett delivers. However, I was disappointed that over half the book included the same events that were included in a previous book released by Wayne Stinnett. While I agree that some overlap is essential for the stories, I had expected more new content in the Lost Charity novel. However, with that said I did enjoy the read :)

In the style of Wayne, this continuation of the Charity Styles story blends the Jessie McDermott and Odd partners story line and fills in some missing dialog from the other story line. It is a bit repetitive in the intersecting story lines, but from the perspective of Charity.
She gets the job done, not as it was intended, but that is what keeps these reads interesting and fresh.

Dudley Do Right

That could almost be Charity ‘s name. She has a protective moral code that gets her in trouble every time. She should have lived in the Wild Wild West. There really was no blood bath this time and Armstrong should have congratulated her. So where does she go now? Excellent.

Not the greatest Charity story

This Charity Styles book was a little bit of a disappointment as every book I have read from this author have been outstanding, this just wasn’t up there , it felt a bit out of sorts.
But that won’t stop me from reading the rest of his books!!

Charity Is As Bad As Ever

Charity is Charity! That’s all you can say. This book shows her wilder side. It was a wonderful story, but I didn’t give it 5 stars because I thought the final sequence was a little convoluted. Good story, though.

First 2/3 of book was a repeat of 2 other book by Stinnett. I am disappointed in this book and how it was written. seems as though the author is getting lazy. I have read and purchased all of his other books this is the first one I did not enjoy.

Charity

I really liked this book. Gave us more insight to who Charity was and is. This was not the shoot em up book that I thought it might be considering who Charity is but I couldn’t put it down.
Please continue the series!

Unoriginal

This book uses the same characters and events as in another book by the author with a co-author. More than half the book describes events and situations that were reintroduced in the first of a new series.

This is a good series, and this one doesn't disappoint, not as full of action as some of the other Stinnett books, but a good solid plot. Charity has not yet overcome her demons and appears to be dropping out once again at the end of this novel.

Really enjoyed this book.

I have read all of the Jesse books and a few of the Charity books. This meshed into the Jesse stories and really intrigued me. I know I will continue reading the Charity books now. It caught on the hook! Recommend it highly.

I quit 50% in. Over 1/2 the book and nothing interesting has happened. I mean nothing. Not sure why this book got high ratings. I guess the people that read it must have dull lives. Reading Readers Digest is more exciting

So very nice to have another Charity book! Please keep them coming. I really like her strong character and the way Mr Stinnett has woven some of his other characters in all his books. I have read every single Stinnett book and really look forward to more- especially the Charity ones.
