I’ve been in Hell so long, I don’t remember who I was before this. How did I die? What did I do to earn the worst torture this place has to offer? Just kidding—I don’t give a crap. Whatever I did, no one deserves this; it’s time to get out of here. The only problem is, my escape is thwarted by three spoiled demon princes begging to go topside. And now Lucifer, the Devil himself, has stuck his unfairly attractive nose in. Lucifer promises I can work off some of my debt by guarding these three troublesome princes and keeping them out of mischief. My princes have other plans—beginning and ending with my personal hell on earth, since that’s apparently all a feral soul like me deserves. I’ll show you what I deserve. Saddle up, boys. You’re riding with me, now.
Warning: Hellcat Escaping is a reverse harem novel with multiple love interests, and as the first in a trilogy ends on a cliffhanger. Intended for mature readers, it contains dark fantasy elements regarding violence and assault, along with sexual content that some readers may find offensive. Please proceed with caution.
Jade Bones is a paranormal romance and reverse harem author who loves writing about tempting, swoon-worthy supernatural men and the (equally swoon-worthy) women who steal their hearts. More than just the romance, Jade especially loves to create worlds that mix together gritty urban aesthetics with surreal, dream-like magic.
When she isn't writing, you can find her drinking tea, cuddling her dog, or taking tarot far too seriously.
One day, I'll learn not to pick up a new book before bed. That day wasn't yesterday 🙈.
Could NOT put it down. Apparently the answer to my enjoyment of RH is that the plot be reminiscent of an urban fantasy with insane and compelling world building.
This is the first book I have read by this author, but it won’t be the last. I really loved Cat’s snarky, sassy, yet also somewhat vulnerable attitude. She has been tortured in hell for a long time and has no memories of what her life was like on Earth. When she attempts to escape, she gets caught and finds herself guarding three princes of hell. I felt for Cat because they were kind of jerks at first and Cat felt so alone. But I also understood so,e of the guys distrust of her. This story is an original take on demons and I can’t wait for book 2!
I skimmed through most of this book. Maybe I’ll try to read it again another time...?
I just don’t really like RH’s where no one trusts each-other but they still have sex. These guys betray FMC repeatedly and distrust her no matter how many times she proves herself.
Frankly, I don’t think these guys are worth all of the drama.
I couldn’t get into the writing style of this book (could be wrong time - wrong place or just not my style). Overall an interesting start but too there were too many questions about the world building (with a few info dumps along the way) to create a clear picture. The characters were more fleshed out and while I’m sure the action was about to ramp up, it never seemed to in the portion I read.
Maybe if I had finished the book I would give it a better rating.
I liked Cat and the guys and was looking forward to the story but it just didn't do it for me. I don't even know where they ended up on Earth. Not sure if I missed that but there seemed to be more detail spent explaining breakfast than where they were or why some things were happening. Skimmed the last few chapters, won't read book2.

Cat is locked away in hell, without any memory of what landed her there in the first place. Her memories of the tortures she has to endure are scrambled as well, with only images remaining. What she does know is that she wants to find a way to escape the hellhole she's living in. During one of her escape attempts she is captured again and forced to join three demon princes on their trip to earth.
I liked that the enemies-to-lovers trope of this book comes without bullying. Most of their feelings towards each other are te consequence of secrets and assumptions, but none of the characters can escape the feelings and bonds that develop between them. This is a first book in a series and it is filled with questions and mysteries. The author takes her time to do a decent world and character building, but a lot of the past of the characters remains hidden to be answered in the next books. It makes it into a very promising series, but I can imagine that some people have a hard time with all the unanswered questions. The cliffhanger-warning is definitely warranted. I especially like Cat though, and I am hoping that the next books will reveal more about her past. It feels as if there is more tot the answers that were given in this book: she is fierce but also caring and loving, and in my opinion more than those guys deserve at this point.
This book comes with plenty of spicy scenes, and they are precisely the kind I like: they don't overwhelm the story but fit with the flow of the book and add something to the storyline. I definitely recommend reading: this book keeps you on your toes, and it has a lot of promise for the next one.

Cat has been imprisoned in hell without knowing how long she has been there and several other important questions. Unsure of what caused this torture, Cat is sure whatever the crime was doesn't fit the punishment and plans to escape. The problem with her attempt is in the form of three demon princes who selfishly want to leave also. That may not have been the worst but the devil himself takes an interest. The devil promises her time reduced if she basically babysits the princes and stops them from causing trouble. The princes have decided to torment Cat because they think her wild and feral. Cat will show them exactly what she deserves and have them dancing to her beat.
An intriguing storyline that blew me away and had so many shocks and surprises I never would have seen coming. I absolutely love Cat and her attitude is fabulous, a no nonsense slightly crazy female with such large parts of her missing. I do like the way the author made it so even the apparently feral soul could feel pain and disappointment. This was a irreproachable plot that ended with promise of more to come and I liked the thaw that happened within the princes. This author is very capable of creating hell on earth and I loved it. I will be on the edge waiting for the follow on book which can only make me more hooked on Cat and her men.

Paranormal, reverse harem, and princes of hell? This book is my bread and mf butter. These are the types of books I can't help but absolutely love and I'm always looking for more to read. So I'm really happy I stumbled across this series.
Synopsis: The only home Catrina has ever known is the four walls of her cage in the worst part of hell. Hellbent on escaping, Catrina risks another attempt at freedom, only to end up in a room with all the people who want nothing more than to put her back. But when Lucifer's sick sense of humor leads to an opportunity at freedom, Catrina isn't going to shrug it off. Stuck babysitting three spoiled princes of hell, Cat has her work cut out for her. Especially when the stupidly handsome princes are determined to make Cat's job impossible. But Catrina is determined to prove herself, because she traded one cage for another, and deep inside she knows she never deserved either.
I had a lot of fun reading this book. It was easy to follow along, and exciting to read. The pacing was good, with just enough action and romance. I really enjoyed the characters as well, especially Cat. I'm really excited to see how her character will progress in the future. The smut gets a 2/5 on the spice-o-meter.
So overall, if you enjoy paranormal romances, hell creatures and settings, reverse harem, and equal parts action and romance, you will definitely enjoy this book!
First off, how cool is it to be an author of suspenseful reverse harem stories and have the name Jade Bones??? Hellcat Escaping is book on of the Hell’s Fire Burning series and it is amazing. Three demon princes sent to earth to learn more about their specific realms and a hell soul sent with them as a guarding, what could possibly go wrong? This book is fast paced and would you believe the royal court of hell hasn’t been honest and straightforward. Needless to say, there are powers that be that are up against the princes and their babysitter and from the moment they step foot topside the fun begins. I loved Catrina and her smart mouth and snarky comments. She is definitely a soul that doesn’t take any crap from anyone. Each one of the princes are special and they play off each other’s strengths. The bond that is there is almost palpable. This book leaves off on a cliffhanger that is out of this world and will leave you gasping. Yep, it is something that you just must read. Can’t wait for part two. The story is filled with secrets that are not revealed even in this book, so you are left wondering what? Why? Who? Where? All those nasty little thoughts that will just tug at your brain with more questions than answers. Jade Bones did an excellent job in writing this story and I wish I could give it more than 5-stars.
Actual rating of 3.5 stars rounded up - I feel like this trilogy will be really enjoyable as a whole, but there was a little bit lacking in the first book.. * Far more of a focus on the FMC and 3MMCs romantic entanglements and smut than on building the story up. There were sections where certain MMCs were off at a 'meeting' without an explanation of what or why, and it just felt like a way to break up the sex scenes? * What motivates the characters is a little unclear, and the history and politics of hell (where everyone is from) haven't been explored with much depth. So.. at the moment there isn't enough gravity regarding what the MCs goals and motivations are for the serious parts at the end of the book to hold much weight. * I really like the FMC, she's snarky and sassy and I can tell that she will hold her own and carry the role of MC well. I look forward to reading the next two, but I do hope there is some decent story development in the second book that will make me more invested in the plot. At the moment, the characters are memorable but the story itself is not.
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
I had so much fun reading this book!! We meet Cat in her cage located in the lower level of Hell itself. She has been tortured for years due to her past choices though she cannot remember anything. During one of her many escape attempts she finds herself in the court meeting room while they are there. This leads to her being assigned as a babysitter pretty much to three demon princes as they travel to Earth to learn about humans firsthand. They are all keeping secrets from one another as well as being played by other key characters. This makes for a tenseful living situation that just gets more interesting as they cave to their attraction to one another. Makes for a steamy fun read that ends on a cliff hanger making you want book two sooner rather than later. A highly recommended read for fans of the genre. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
So many things I enjoyed about this book! Cat, the main character... she's fun and feisty, but has depth and I don't feel like she's "snarky for the sake of snarky" which is something I get tired of with fmc at times.
The guys: I'm not *totally* sold on them yet but I'm warming up haha. Colton, Marek, Dax... hot demon dudes with attitudes and a lot on their plate!
The story: There's a LOT going on and at times I felt a little lost trying to figure it out. I have faith that the author will make everything clear during the course of the series. Her writing is engaging and the book is a page-turner for sure.
The heat: Yum! So one of my favorite things about this story is the way the relationships are building. There were some moments that honestly made my heart melt for these guys, I really like the way Jade allows the emotions and connection to unfold. AND, there were some truly steamy-hot scenes, and I look forward to more of them! I'm getting ready to start book two...
Overall, this book was decent, but frustratingly little happens in it. It seems like it was setting up more action in later books, though. Even directly after moments of conflict, the main characters are almost immediately thrown right back into waiting for more information or for things to be set up for them off-page.
I liked how the characters were written. The three MLs have distinct personalities and skill sets that make them easy to distinguish from each other. At times the way they treat the FL isn't really logical if they considered her situation at all (if they are actually trying to get her on their side), but they do seem to realize that later on. The FL is pretty cool. I would have loved to see her more in her element in Hell where she has things figured out. A lot of the story she is confused and uncertain, which is understandable story-wise, but I love a badass FL like we saw at the beginning of the story.
'Hellcat Escaping' is a paranormal enemies to lovers r.h. romance. The story is filled with intrigue, romance, and action. There is a lot of multiple character building going on within the story. The backstory to each character is well done and written in seamlessly. There are lots of twists that will keep readers on their seats and question wtf?. Secrets are revealed and loyalties tested. It's an entertaining read with snarky dialogue, plot twists, moment to moment action, and steamy romance. An excellent beginning to the series.

I enjoyed reading this book so much that I didn't want it to end! The main characters are all complex individuals with hidden depths and unknown pasts that the author is gradually bringing to light. As a team there may be a couple of trust issues to resolve but the chemistry is definitely there, these people belong together. The story is fast moving and original with a main antagonist that is truly demonic and villainous, and I state that quite emphatically, while I'm reserving my opinion of Lucifer until I find out more, hopefully the next book will be along very soon.
This is my second read through and I can’t believe I didn’t write a review. I enjoyed this world building. The multiple povs were great. It opens a series of new perspectives, and moves the story along naturally. It broke my heart reading how often she was hurt by cruel words or threats. I rated it 4* though because I found there was just so much negative happening to the fmc, that it made it hard to read at an excited pace. I think if there was more of a balance of positive things happening to her that this book would be exceptional.
"Oh Jeez! This was an intense ride!!! Talking about non-stop action, adventure and twist this story had it all. Cat and her princes wow, they’re fearless and deadly and did I mention hot? Seriously it and it all! Action and darkness plus it's RH and with steam that almost burned my kindle?! YES!!! And thst ending!!! We're kidding, we're playing to win. OMG I'm so ready for the next part!"
Hellcat Escaping by Jade Bones is a wonderful read. This is book number one in the wonderful series that I am so hooked on and can not wait to read the rest. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about reverse harem, fantasy, erotic and paranormal romance.

3 1/2 stars for series!! It has good character depth and plot. Action was there and FMC was cool. Steam was suspense was ok too. It just kind of felt like it could have been done it 2 books without extra scenes. I didn’t stay in engaged the whole way and crawled to finish it. It lost its appeal near the end of book 2 but I liked the overall story and the twist on it.
I love this story. Those 3 demon princes are yummy. I love Catrina, she has been through sooo much and can't remember anything but I think there is way more to the story for her I can't wait for the next book. Does the devil know will Ronin finally be held responsible. Is the de il aware of his betrayal is that why he sent cat with them. Soooo many questions
Cat's story is filled with intrigue, mystery, magic, questions, and secrets. This is a paranormal romance that is enemies to lovers. There are plenty of twits that with keep you guessing. I enjoyed the world building and character development.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Cat is no damsel in distress. She is tough and capable , my favorite type of protagonist for sure. I can't wait to read the next book to see what happens next with cat and her men.
This is a new to me author and I will definitely be checking out more of her work. The book was filled with mystery, intrigue, suspense, magic and secrets. Just when I thought I knew where this story was going and what the characters were doing-BAM plot twist. I love Car’s character and that she was tasked with babysitting 3 demon princes. What could go wrong?
This book a good start to the series. Cat is such a likable character that you can’t help but root for her even when we are still not sure what she did to end up there. I’ll continue reading for sure ..
This was my first book from Jade Bones and I will admit I am impressed and can't wait for the next book. A kick arse main character who is yet to find out who and what she is.. RH lovers check this out
This book vaguely reminds me of some Supernatural TV show plot lines, and that's not a bad thing. Cat has a lot of spice, and I hope to learn more about her in future books.
What a fantastic start to a mature Rh romance with characters from Hell with the enemies to lovers trope. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
