My three intended mates left me rejected, half-marked, and broken.
Every wolf shifter dreams about her first night with her mates, but mine left me an outcast with the revelation that I'm really a hybrid. A hybrid between a wolf and what is the question. Only my late mother knows the answer, but these days, I have other things to worry about. Namely, being caught in a war between my gorgeous jerk of a boss and the hunter who's somehow become my friend with benefits.
Until the consequences of my incomplete mating mark leave me in physical anguish each full moon, that is--and the only thing keeping the monster in my veins at bay is the dark gift of a vampire lord who thinks I'm something else entirely. Something that makes me more dangerous than anyone could have imagined--especially me.
Like I don't have enough infuriating (but admittedly tantalizing) alpha males on my plate, now the three wolves who threw me away are back, trying to stake their claim now that I'm their only hope of overthrowing my unhinged father as regional alpha.
If the men in my life don't make up their minds soon, I'm booking a one-way ticket to an all-female island.
Their Rejected Mate is a full-length Rejected Mates Wolf Shifter Romance, and the first in the Luna Rejected series. This series features four alpha male anti-hero love interests, an unbreakable heroine who keeps them in check, and in true Reverse Harem fashion, the MC doesn't have to choose between her guys. Includes MFM and eventual MMF content.
DNF. I was excited to read this book. The cover is gorgeous, I am loving the rejected mates trope and I liked the premise. But Lavinia was just a bundle of contradictions I don't have the patience to deal with. She flip-flops about how to react to certain people in her life, changing her mind by the paragraph; she isn't used to wearing revealing clothes, but seemed a little too ready to dress provocatively when the situation didn't call for it; has never been kissed, but seems really eager to give a hand job to a guy she barely knows; she doesn't want Aurelius to know where she lives, but sends him a check- checks have your home address on them and even if they don't they are traceable. Also the passage of time was weird to me. Like only 3 weeks had passed, but in some scenes it read like more had. Aurelius had stopped texting for what was hinted at as weeks, but when he started again she said he must have been busy for a couple of days. She tries to avoid her boss's brother because he constantly treats her like crap, but then she states she questioned him about his job because he wasn't there that often and every time she asked him he was cagey. Why are asking someone something over and over if you are actively avoiding them? I got to the 56% mark and just couldn't anymore. There are more books in the series and it seems like it has a nice ark to it, but Lavinia was too annoying for me to continue it.
I love rejected mate books, this one, not so much. The biggest issue is the men, well more like how they seem to become part of the line-up. They are introduced, she sleeps with one, and then that one ends up falling into the background to make room for her to sleep with another. But let me tell you, there wasn't even a lick of heat or actual chemistry before hand with some of these men. This rh should have been paced or even a whole lot slower as to actually show these characters having interest rather then out the blue. The story really falls behind, while we are all trying to figure out what's truly going on. And by the end it had really just became a bit ridiculous. I won't be finishing this series
There was so much boring inner dialog, I started skimming 5 pages in. The worldbuiling needed fleshed out. She hopped right in to"relationships " with barely any buildup. Left the storyline hanging and moved onto another. I would not waste your time.
While I’ve had some of Ramsey’s books on my TBR list, this is the first I have read. This is a fast burn, rejected mates RH. I really loved seeing Lavinia grow. I do wish we had some POVs from the guys, as I may have liked them more. The 3 who reject her, all see fairly immature and I don’t think deserve her. The three new guys have a little potential, but also seem to have their own agendas - especially Alexander. I think I liked Cole the most - he’s and alphahole but at least seems pretty honest in his approach. Like I said, Lavinia rocks, and she really made this story for me. I want to know what her next adventure will be, so I will be looking for book 2 :)
I don’t get it. If she eventually turned and that’s all it took to make the mark actually take hold, wouldn’t that mean she is now mated to them???? Someone please explain?? Other than that average book. I couldn’t give a 2.5 so I rounded up.

I really enjoyed this book. Lavinia is not some pathetic rejected mate. She’s strong, brave and has back bone. I kind of want to kick Arelius and the other mates in the nuts. And the other connections are really interesting. Love the ending. Bring on book 2.
The fmc is barely 21 and, while I was all here for the first part of the story wherein Lavinia finds a backbone and starts creating a life for herself for the first time in her life, she then hooks up with the first 3 guys she meets - all of whom are much older and bend over backwards to take care of her. There wasn’t enough difference between the first trio of mates who reject Lavinia and the second trio of men she sleeps with for me to care one way or the other. The first trio are immature jerks and the second trio are wayyyyyy-too-old-for-Lavinia jerks. Each set has pros and cons and secrets they keep from Lavinia. They all do things that are selfish and hurtful (Marcus quite literally attempts to kill the fmc and she brushes it off as a simple misunderstanding).
Considering the author likely plans to write another 2 to 10 books about these characters and this AU, it would have been helpful to have enough insight into any of it to make an more substantive impression. There is something wrong with Lavinia’s wolf. The author doesn’t give readers more than a vague mention of a “bluish glow”. That’s not nearly enough for me to stick out a 4 month wait for a second installment.
I have read many rejected mates books and this one stands out to me. This isn't the typical rejected mates story you think you get when you read the term. However, it's beyond worth it. The fmc isn't the normal nice girl or even the opposite. There's a conflict in the regard of how to accept her, but there's good reasons for her behavior. She's like a coin. You get both sides, but they're both still her. The men in the story have a range of both personalities and emotions which give you ideas of who you want her to be with but at the same time they're quirky too. I know I'm explaining that in the weirdest way, but once you read the story you'll understand. The plot is amazing. It's not focused strictly on the romance or the rejection. It sucks you in because it's written so well that it blends together. Yes, there's point if both romance and rejection, but it's more what else comes with it in some instances. I love that it's not strictly based on one type of scenario and you get a range to work with. 10/10 would recommend this rejected mate story again and again
SYNOPSIS (of Trilogy): The books are set in a world where shifters live alongside humans but humans are not aware of them. The FC, Lavinia, is the daughter of the Alpha of a large but isolated pack and has been raised to be the Luna of the wolf triad to whom she will be mated and who will take over as Alpha(s) of the pack. It transpires that the FC is not the Alpha‘s real daughter but a hybrid and so both her „father“ and her mates reject her and she is banished from the pack. Book 1 covers how the FC finds her place in the world, makes friends and meets 3 sexy MCs (a Coyote shifter, a Vampire and a human hybrid) and finds out what her other half is. It ends on a cliffhanger. Books 2 and 3 cover the development of the FCs relationships and her coming face to face with her history. There’s a climactic fight scene and a HEA.
Heat Level 🌶️🌶️/🌶️ 🌶️🌶️ The scenes are well written and sexy but not over the top and the kink level is low. Whilst they go through all the right steps I found them to be dry and not particularly hot, not sure why.
The story is good but there are so many typos its ridiculous and then in Book 3 it’s like there was a whole scene missing between the FC and Joram. So many books are ruined nowadays by authors failing to edit properly or beta check their books and this is a case in point. The FC is strong and it‘s great to see her grow into who she is after years under her father‘s subjugation. Her relationships with the MCs grows gradually but I felt that the speed with which she went from a virgin to sleeping with 3 men and then twosomes/threesomes was a bit jarring. Further, whilst there‘s a lot of description as to present events and what happens to the FC there seems to be little to no world building or background development which makes the story lack depth. You don’t get anything about who the MCs are, how they became who they are or anything. There’s no real explanation about the FC’s parents and why her mother married the Alpha. It’s very superficial. Each of the MCs is distinct in their personalities although they are all strong, possessive and alpha but again, you don’t really get to understand who they are or their personalities and there’s no real development of relationships.
There’s a bit of humour in the books and I did like the funny scene between the FC, Cole and Alexander whilst in a cabin in Fae. The length of time that the FC is in Fae the first time is confusing. Sometimes the characters talk about being away for months but in others there’s just a reference to about a month. The concept of “mates” in this story also seems a bit fluid and inconsistent. The term is used a lot but not always in a way of real bonded mates or fated mates. It’s confusing.
There was the bare bones of a good story and it started well but then over the 3 Books the story became less and less well written or thought out. Book 3, for me, was a bit of a car wreck with inconsistencies and sections that make you feel like you missed a chunk of story. For example, when Lavinia travels back to Fae and meets Joram she “recognises” his voice and he recognises her but they’ve never met so how is that possible? You realise that it’s because the author seems to have forgotten she named the person that Lavinia met in the Fae prison “Christian” because it is apparently Christian that Lavinia is meeting again but who is now called Joram. There’s no explanation as to why Lavinia is not surprised at meeting Joram or how they seemed to know each other. It’s as if there’s an entire scene missing. This is a material disjoint in the story and incredibly sloppy writing. When Lavinia & Joram meet she blames him for not doing anything “all these years”. Not sure how he was supposed to do so when he’s been imprisoned the whole time.
Finally, the big battle is all a bit odd. We’ve never really had any background on the original emperor/king fight or how Joram ended up imprisoned and unable to escape. At no point have we even met the mysterious emperor and yet there’s this sudden battle which Joram wins despite having cobbled together an army. Then all of a sudden the FC finds she’s got strong Fae magic and can channel it despite never having it before? She can make portals on a whim?? Why is the FC suddenly the only powerful Fae and how has she suddenly developed this magic and ability to use it?? As a last point, the brief reference to what happened with the Alpha was another let down. What was that about and why were Jax and Damon not held to account for their behaviour?😫
In summary, the trilogy started with promise but then fell apart and is littered with typos and editing issues. I skim read the last half of Book 3. Won’t be trying any more of this author’s work.

Liked: - great story line - great writing - strong female lead - has a brain and remains strong. Nice character development. - not a pathetic rejected mate storyline - interesting male characters
Didn't like: - it lacks character development with some of the new males. I would give it 5 stars if the sexual relationship with Cole was a bit more believable. I have no issue with other males she is young and has a right to explore. Plus the males were nice to her and there was a spark. However, Cole was just another alphahole.
Lavinia was raised by her cold Alpha father. He often criticized and punished her. She grew up pretty much locked away from others. She didn't play or go to school with other kids but was raised to be the next Luna - be seen and not heared. Lavinia knew from young age who her mates were as they were marked Alpha: Aurelius, Damon and Jax. However, she didn't have much interaction with them either. Aurelius the nicer one that spent some time with her when he would come to talk to her father on business matters. Damon quite type and Jax the jerk type who likes to call her princess as if she had a life of luxury. In order to take the Alpha position her mates had to claim her in 3 separate parts: bite/mark her, then she will change to her wolf on the full moon, and lastly mate. They all bite her and days go by where they all ignore her until it's full moon and time for her to shift. Well she doesn't shift and with medical exam she finds out that the Alpha is not her father and that she is a hybrid. Her father brings in her lovely mates to decide her fate and they don't want her and instead they kick her out. Alone in a new world, she raises on her two feet, gets a job and meets new people. Notably she meets a vampire royalty who actually saves her twice and even helps her through her first heat. A personal trainer with a big secret and her alphahole boss. Lavinia finally shifts but she is different! Her lovely mates show up because they need her to claim the pack lol! and because they are concerned about her next heat, really?! So they demand she comes back and she realizes that she is nothing but a commodity for them to use. Loved this scene because she remained strong with a brain. Ends with a cliffhanger! Looking forward to book 2!
An introduction. Blurb gives away all the highlights.
I read this out of curiosity after reading the blurb ready to give it a chance. Unfortunately the blurb is a mixture of misleading and encompassing most of the book. So I started reading and waiting for the introduction to finish. What I actually expected to happen was for the rejection scene to take place and then for it to jump ahead to the point that the FMC has put a new life together that incorporates the characters mentioned in the blurb. But no the story goes step by step, so then I thought, ok we are getting introduced to each of the guys as she meets them instead of retrospectively. The blurb gives the impression that the story will commence at least months down the track, but unfortunately the blurb just gives you the main highlights of the book and then there's a cliffhanger. Really this book is an introduction to the characters and various plot points, but its not an actual novel and doesn't really contain depth or substance. Part of my review is generally "did the book suck me in enough to keep reading the series". Honestly I'm not sure. There's kind of too much going on, there's the pack, the bar and those associated to it and then there's the vampires, oh and then there's whatever happened at the cliffhanger, which it didn't really feel there was much lead up to. On 1 hand, I have a little curiosity to see what happens but I'm not sure if it's strong enough to compete with all the books on my to do list.
Lavinia was getting ready to be mated to three wolves in the pack that she had run with since little. Her father is the Alpha and is not a good one. When she receives the mating mark from all three, another month goes by to complete it. Only, she cannot turn into a wolf. A blood test confirms she is a hybrid and does not belong to the man she thought of as a father. So, she is banned from the pack and her mates rejected her~ She finds a bar that serves shifters, humans, vamps, and any others. Now, she is rescued by a vamp that is royalty from other vamps; she takes fighting lessons from someone not completely human, and then her shifter boss is protective of her as well. Then she changes into something that no one quite understands what they see! All she knows is that all the males, including those who rejected her want to own her! When her boss and she set out to find some answers they end up in another realm? Where are they? How did they get there? More importantly, is it where she truly belongs? This ends in a cliffhanger!
3.5 for me. She talked a lot- A LOT -to herself before finally talking to others and giving me a “normal format” of a book where things build on dialogue and interaction rather than thinking the day away on things I’d rather see than get told about. Other than that, I liked this story.
I think it’s funny that she fs the mates who rejected her and does it with other people. Interesting way to go. Funny. I didn’t like that it took 25% of the book to have her go through a failed ceremony and get kicked out. I like the concept of the other characters. I got lost and bored in her inner monologues when she wasn’t talking aloud. I LOVE that she was very set on not taking her rude mates back. I hate when the heroines still pine after someone that hurt them. I prefer the cautionary women with bite.
Overall I hope I remember to read this next installment when it comes out lol I’m new to the author and it was an okay read with some awesome moments and some hot scenes.
I’ve been craving a good shifter book, and with so many options out there I decided to go with something by an author I haven’t read before. This book ended up being much different than I expected, but in a good way!
Plot: The plot twisted in a way I didn’t expect. The story is centered around Lavinia, daughter of the Alpha of the Redstone pack. Lavinia has been raised with the knowledge that she will become Luna to the next generation of Alphas - a bonded triad. During their mating ceremony, unexpected complications arise that ultimately end with Lavinia being rejected by all three of her mates and banned from her pack. From there, it progresses differently than I predicted but I enjoyed the start of her journey post-rejection.
Characters: Lavinia is a great MFC. I loved the character growth we saw from her and the way she learned her own worth, becoming stronger each chapter. So far I’m a fan of all the characters introduced throughout her story, and can’t wait for book 2!
Lavinia was raised as a Luna pamper princess by her alpha father. He has her mates picked fir her that were alphas and to be his successor after their mating. But at the mating ceremony she doesn’t change and her father has a doctor check her over and finds out that her father isn’t her biological father! Her mates reject her and walk away and her father exiles her from the pack and their land. She leaves and has to learn to survive on her own. She gets a job at a bar as a waitress and dish washer. She serves humans and shifters and she can tell the difference. But on the way home one night she starts to get attacked by vampires until she gets saves by a vampire king! Now she has a human, a wolf shifter and a vampire that is interested in her but the moon is coming and the three so called mates want her back after she does change. But what does she change into? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I so enjoyed this first book in this new series by River Ramsey I liked Lavinia the main character who for the whole of her life has been regarded as a pack princess with her whole life mapped out for her by her father, right down to being mated to three wolves whom he plans to have take over as the Alphas of the pack on completion of the mating ritual.
But when her wolf refuses to appear for the mating on the first full moon to complete the mating ritual, she is subjected to a full physical examination where the doctor discovers that the man she believed to be her father isn't. After which her mates reject her and she's exiled from the pack and their lands.
To find out how our spoiled princess exists on her own if she can discover who her true father is and what will happen to her you will need to download this one yourself - I'm not telling, what I will say is that it does end on a cliffhanger which is the only reason it has four stars and not five.
Lavinia has spent her whole life preparing to be the next Luna the alpha or alphas in this case mate. When the night comes for her place to be cemented something goes very wrong. She finds out she’s not who she believed her whole life. Her father and mates turn against her and she must start over in the human world. Things are going reasonably well for her when another unexpected twist occurs. Now she is dealing with an unusual shift, a pack of over possessive men all while trying to blend into the human world. Just when things seemed to have peaked in craziness the three mates who threw her over come waltzing back into her life and expect her to just fall in line. Arrogant beyond belief. All of these men are in for a shock because Lavinia has become her own woman and she likes her new found and hard won independence. A scorching hot start to a new series. One unbelievable cliffhanger! I cannot wait to see what happens next! I received an ARC from the author. This review is voluntary.
Dang! This story pulled me in from the beginning as I sympathized with Lavinia being forced into mating with 3 men by her Alpha father. The only thing that eased the sting was she had grown up with the 3 men as children and they had been decent. Then the shoe drops and Lavinia's entire life is torn apart. She crawls her way forward and does what she can to stand on her own two feet and make a new life for herself in the aftermath. I loved and admired the strength Lavinia shows as she fights for what she wants as men new and old start sniffing around her. Some questions get answered as a many more sprout up at the end of this story. Definitely a book one, but no book hangover for me. I am excited to return for book 2 so I can see what happens next! A satisfying read that had me hooked until the very last page.
I received an advanced copy of this story and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Surprisingly enjoyable. Storyline: sheltered wolf-girl is exiled from her pack, grows a backbone and tries to build a new independent life for herself. She meets new acquaintances along the way and learns more about her 'wolf'.
FMC is a virgin but thankfully it's not glamorised/fetished by her love interests. I liked the fact that the FMC wasn't immediately in love after sleeping with the MCs. She is into them, but not embarrassingly so**. I liked Aurelius (the only one of the alphas who stands a chance of redemption IMO), Alexander and Cole. Marcus is a bit of a weirdo. The sex scenes were good too.
The cliffhanger scene came out of nowhere and I'm not really sure where the author plans to go next. I think I'll pick up the next book just to see where it goes and hopefully it all ties in somehow, otherwise I may leave this at one and done.
[**apart from one scene where she propositions one of the guys as a way to heal him, God that was cringe..!]
I have read a few of River Ramsey's books and they are all a very nice, fluid, fun and hot reading but I never fell in love with none of the female characters because they are all very fragile (too much) e with almost (or none) self esteem. This book and the first book of the kingdom of Ice are very different. We can see an outstanding evolution on River Ramsey's writing! The plot, the female characters and the others surrounding them are more alined with my preferences. In this book, the main character, Lavínia, has a great personality, despite her breeding, despite her resignation for her duty to the pack and her very little liberty, when life kicks her in the @ss, she reveals her true self and her ability to deal with all that's thrown at her. She's witty and a proud woman, who won't gravel for scraps of attention and won't admit any disrespect from anyone. I can't wait for the next one!
I didn't like this book. The MC was too emotional, immature, and made terrible decisions time over and over. The romance between the love interest was either not their or non exsistant then suddely the MC is having sex with them. I am was also not a fan of most of the love interest either.
Summary: MC is rejected from her pack and 3 mates for being a hybrid. She settles down in a city and is feeling the effect of a half mate bond. Goes into head. Ends up having sex with a Vampire Duke, her Boss, and her Personal Trainer. Then all of a sudden her 3 mates show up wanting her back because their plans didn't go their way so now she is useful and NOW they want to mate her. Yeah I was warming up to 1 of her 3 rejected mates but after that confession I disliked them all.
Overall, there is now one I really like in the story to keep reading the rest of the series. I didn't think it was bad...Just not for me.

Can we all take a drink for when the heroine says she feels "rage" Don't know about everyone else but if you are down and out, don't even know your next step and someone gives you money.... Do you really chuck it at their feet??? Pride before a roof over your head.
I really liked this book at the start it was funny, the whole narration had me in stitches, then the heroine got stuck in her head like a loop. I've read many books with heroines from poor backgrounds and this was a "how to" from a rich girls perspective. One of the things not believable was how the heroine thinks dressing up is jeans and a tank top. Surely if one has been training ALL her life to be THE Luna she would know how to dress up.. The whole book doesn't show any of her etiquette training, why bother with that train of thought if you don't follow through?
I've read much worse, this doesn't even rank as low but there are a few things that could have made this epic, just bad delivery.
Their Rejected Mate was a book of two halves for me. Mainly because of Lavinia. There was the meek and naive Lavinia who was under her fathers thumb at the beginning of this book. By the way i seriously wanted to punch her father and Damon, Jax and Aurelius. For me from that point on the book started to change for the better especially in regards Lavinia. She grew as a character i thought and it made her more interesting to me. A take no crap one from anyone including her Ex mates. A few secrets were uncovered particularly with her background and what she is. There was also a tug of war going on with her and all the men in her life. I really liked Marcus and even grumpy, gruff Cole. Those two certainly brought on the steam. Im really enjoying reading this and that cliffhanger ending completely threw me but in a good way. Bring on book 2 now
Who are Karen, Jax, Damon, Aurelius, and Lavinia? What is happening at the start of the story? My heart felt like cracking for Livinia. What happens when Livinia has trouble completing a ritual? Where is she taken? What is learned? Who is Alexander? How does Livinia meet him the first time? What happens the next time she meets him? When she calls Sam to say she can't come to work for a few days, what happens? Oh goodness, what happens when Livinia ends up sleeping with three different men, but not all at the same time? What do they each want from her? When Jax, Damon, and Aurelius show up, following her, what do they tell her? What does she do? Where does Cole take her on her day off work and what happens? Read and see!

There are so much spelling errors and missing words in this book that I doubt it has been proofread by anyone. The first mistake is in the first sentence on page one when the author uses 'ovular' instead of 'oval'. 2 entirely different meanings.
The story itself is entertaining enough and the pacing is good. But it's just an OK fanfiction type read, not a book that deserves monetary exchange.
The main character is incredibly childish and acts out of character.
There is no relationship development, just her having sex randomly with different men.
They talk about how weird her wolf is, but the only description is she has sigils and white eyes (wow how horrifying).
There is no reason for 3 books, book 1 was largely pointless.
I didn't actually hate it however, the author has talent, it just desperately needs editing.
I could get used to reading the rejected mates trope if they were more like this. I loved how the mc actually rejected the guys when they came back. The mc is actually my favorite character in this story because she goes from door mat to mc with a bite. I found it refreshing that the harem wasn't tossed together as a rag tag group, but instead each got their own spotlight in book one. I also enjoyed the fact that it wasn't insta-love, but normal single people behavior. (Imo.) Heck, I loved that the harem wasn't clear in the beginning. Sorry for the spoiler. One more. This series has m/m. I look forward to book 2 and learning more about the characters and delving into possible relationships and seeing those develope.

Lavinia gets thrown to the sharks after being betrayed not only by her mates, but her father, too. The only life she's ever known is ripped away, and she has to fend for herself. There's not much wallowing on her part, though, and I love how she rises to the challenge. She's sad and hurt, sure, but she doesn't allow it to incapacitate her. I'm left wondering if any of her original mates will make it to the final cut because she meets and catches feelings for new fellas while away from her pack. Aurelius seems to have some kind of genuine affection for her, but it's unclear if that's because he needs her to fit his own agenda or if he feels true remorse for their situation. Her heritage is a mystery, but that cliffie leads us to a certain conclusion. On to book 2 to find out!
