Chiara Moretti. Angel or devil? When she rescued me from the side of the road, I thought she was the former. A gorgeous young woman with a difficult family, she had me wrapped around her finger in an instant.
We both agreed to share a no-strings-attached sexy weekend in Tuscany. I didn’t expect being unable to erase her from my mind.
Now she’s back in my life in the most complicated way. Chiara is here, within reach, watching me with her fiery eyes and devious mouth. Tempting me, torturing me.
But I can’t have her. I can’t even be near her, not when she’s one of my students, and all I want to do is fuck her until she forgets her own name.
I really enjoyed this age-gap / teacher-student romance from Michelle Hercules. Alistair and Chiara’s story is a fairly quick read, but it’s jam-packed full of drama and it’s bloody steamy too!! I was so pleased when I read the authors note at the end saying that Max will be getting his own book; I’ll be adding that to my TBR list for sure.
🛑🛑SPOILERS AHEAD🛑🛑 . . . . . 15% in, and the heroine called her breasts "my girls"5 TIMES👀🙈🆘 so, seeing as this is a lust-based relationship, the smut isn't smutting...👉👈😬
Also, the heroine's family is conveniently evil in a cartoonish way. Ofc the mother and the female cousin are "pieces of work" for no apparent reason! 🤷🏼♀️
The heroine used to be in love with a guy and was pining for him AT THE START OF THE BOOK, but managed to put him behind her a couple of hours later, because of one fucked up thing he did? Like that's believable and realistic! 🤡😅
The hero is no better. He comes off as a horny tourist, wanting to bang a local young woman, while going through a difficult divorce himself. Granted, the woman cheated on him with his best friend, but at this point, it's such a convenient excuse. 🤦♀️🥱
I honestly couldn't put this book down. I started reading it before bed and ended up staying up until 3 am so I could finish it, it was that addictive. Blurry is an age gap, student-teacher romance, but the second part isn't how it all starts. When Chiara first meets Alistair on a quiet road where he has broken down, he's like a breath of fresh air to her chaotic day, no life. They spend a whirlwind weekend together and plan to never see each other again. But, that's not what happens.
I'm also really excited for Max's story, which will hopefully give us his point of view on the huge twist that happened closer to the end of the story. It's even mentioned by the author that she didn't think it would be right for him to find out in this book, and I admit I totally agree with that assessment.
Absolutely brilliantly written, and really enjoyable. I can't wait for more in this series.
Blurry was an unbelievably sweet, sensual, romantic, brutally honest romance between a troubled young woman and a man scorned by life. Filled with so many heartfelt moments, I felt emotionally attached to these characters. Their story is one that will stay with me for a long while.
Chiara is in Tuscany for a relative’s wedding (drama there!) when she comes across Alistair stranded on the side of the road. They’re both immediately drawn to each other and after a sexy weekend they go their separate ways. Fast forward a couple of months and Chiara discovers her teacher is the very man she couldn’t quit thinking about (and vice versa). Ahhhh! Seriously LOVED their relationship. It was sweet, sexy, and so truthful. Both were jealous, both saw things that appeared “bad” but instead of jumping to conclusions they, GASP, talked it out.
👏🏻👏🏻 Bravo for that Ms. Hercules and THANK YOU. 👏🏻👏🏻
The drama and angst here was outside the relationship. So many obstacles came between these two but when two souls are meant for each other, it will always work out. And it did! The HEA was so freaking sweet I just wanted to hug them both. While it was forbidden, it never felt that way. This was just a…beautiful story.
I think I finally realize I am not a fan of insta love, like or crush 🙄 I become really irritated and borderline impatient trying to finish the whole thing. And this book really didn’t help matters. I mean what the hell did I just read 😭
I loved this so much. This is my 3rd book that I have read by Michelle and this one did not disappoint. Especially because student teacher romances are my favorite trope ever!!
I really loved the chemistry between Alistair and Chiara. I l really enjoyed seeing the insta-love trope in this book as well.
It would be nice to see Michelle Hercules make a story where the main characters don’t always have to have a fucked up family dynamic. I’ve been seeing a recurring theme in her work where the mothers and daughters especially hate each other. It would be nice to see where the mother and daughter are best friends instead and the parents always aren’t complete crap to their kids. Other than that I still thoroughly enjoyed this book!
I’m not going to lie, student-teacher is my least favorite taboo trope. I always hesitate before starting a book using that premise, because the power imbalance is a delicate matter. I’m so, so glad I gave Chiara and Alistair a chance. Their first meeting in Italy was entirely innocent and set up a balanced relationship (if anything, Chiara is the one who holds most of the power in the couple!) and they’re both deliciously flawed, realistic, vulnerable characters who are perfect for each other. The equally realistic, believable challenges thrown their way had me fly through the pages. Michelle’s signature hotter-than-the-fury -of-hell smexy scenes certainly don’t hurt ;)
3.5 stars The story follows Chiara and Alistair who meet in Tuscany (Italy) and spend a weekend together, unknown to them that two months later Alistair will become Chiara's teacher in USA. This was an enjoyable read, i really liked the premise of the story and most aspects of it (the forbidden aspect of the romance, Chiara's cold family, Alistair's messy personal life, Alistair's jealousy, etc). Oh and may i say... HOT cover!!! If you enjoy teacher-student romances, then you will enjoy this book! Other than that, there was not much background on the characters to help me get to know them and understand them better. With that, came many questions that were left unanswered to me (e.g., what happened in Alistair's past? With his ex-wife? Why was Chiara hated so, so much by many of her relatives?).
i’m just so happy to have finally finished a book that i'm probably being a bit lenient with Blurry; it wasn’t amazing, but there were some really wonderful moments in there, enough for me to overlook anything that may have bothered me. immediately after starting i came across two roadblocks: Alistair was still married and he’s only twenty-six. i didn’t know what gobsmacked me more, the (not really) cheating or the fact that he was younger than me, especially since he was portrayed as way older than Chiara (which he technically is but, like, don't call me out like this). but i am glad that i decided to push past it though, because what came after was a touching and lovely romance.
Alistair was very much the star of Blurry for me — he has a complicated past and so many reasons to be jaded, yet he still adores Chiara so wholly. he’s haunted and fragile underneath his confident smirk and playful humor, which is what i love most in a hero. there were parts of his backstory where i feel like Hercules dropped the ball, but overall, his character was moving and sweet. Chiara deals with so much pain, and there were oftentimes i winced when reading her pov especially when it came to her mother, but on her own, she didn’t really have as much of a defined personality; nothing for me to grasp onto and love.
the plot has some pacing issues — so much happens in the last thirty percent of the book that it all felt a bit ridiculous and convoluted at one point. four major events happen within forty-eight hours book time, and it just felt like way too much and out of nowhere. any one of them, if explored fully, could have provided satisfactory action and a climax for the story. that being said, the parts where Alistair and Chiara meet and even the push/pull when they discover that they’re teacher and student were never slow and it was really satisfying seeing them fall in love.
there was a note at the end of the book that one of the side characters, Max, would be getting his own story, and i am so looking forward to it, because he seems like another one of those vulnerable heroes with a tough facade and i just can’t wait to learn more about him.
This story is too cute! Chiara and Alistair story was *chefs kiss* Chiara has a horrible family and Alistair is going through a long drawn out divorce to a gold digger, they end up finding each other when Alistair breaks down and Chiara is there to help. They end up having a summer fling which was the cutest.
I don't read many books like this but when I do I get all the feels 😍 The spice is 👌 The romance is 👌 The story is 👌 I was so glad when they finally thought phuckkk it and just embraced each others love regardless of the consequences. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Oh man! I was about to loose my shit that there was no conclusion for max! Now I’m going to loose my shit waiting for the next book.
I loved this book. The drama was a blast to experience and the climax blew my mind. I was definitely not expecting that. Not going to lie, I was hoping for a little drama between Alistair and Chiara’s mom but it was probably a good they they didn’t have any more confrontation. I loved the little surprise throughout (Mildred 😉)
Sweet, angsty and complicated, Blurry is a captivating read.
I'll admit, age gap romances aren't my cup of tea, and I usually find myself rolling my eyes and cringing at the creeper-daddy-issues vibe they tend to have. But Blurry defied my expectations. Expertly written, with well rounded and fully formed characters, by not actually giving so much weight to the actual age gap and the supposed taboo of it, Blurry avoids all the usual pit-falls of this trope, and what you're left with is a fully engrossing, emotional and wholly entertaining read.
I absolutely loved this book . It was hot and steamy and emotional angst all wrapped into one . A dirty little secret affair turns into drama and hiding and secrets and then a boom romantic finale ! If you like wine, and steam, and Italians you will love this book !
I loved Alistair and Chiara!! Blurry is a age gap taboo student teacher romance that had me devouring this book after the first chapter. Alistair goes to Italy to start fresh and enjoy some time off, he wasn't expecting to get stranded on the side of the road and to have an blonde angel come to his rescue. These two have instant chemistry that sizzled off of the pages. Their whirlwind romance was full of angst, swoon worthy moments and some hot sexy time!! This is seriously one of the best student teacher romances I've read in a while. I just wish there was more. Such a great story.
𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐫'𝐬 story was a sweet, touching and forbidden Romance story ...it was a little heartaching and emotional too but I loved it. 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐚 was strong, fearless and so lovely. The steamy hot chemistry between 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐚 and 𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐫'𝐬 was fab. 𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐫 was so handsome and Strong character. The forbidden, angst romance was so good yet heartaching I loved it. 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘢 3.5 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳 𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘥.
Great book. Super hot. Extremely angst. There is a lot that happens with these two. It is a wild ride that doesn't stop until the last page. Really enjoyed it and will start following Michelle Hercules, I want to check out more of her books.
A hot and very tempting romance that was supposed to be a treasured memory ends up following the beautiful Chiara when she transfers to a new school!
A taboo romance that had me hooked from the start! Alistair and Chiara cross paths when both need it the most!
Their love was forbidden and not allowed but together they came alive! Together it all felt right! Both had to fight for more than their love and this book is a beautiful journey of what it means to fight for what you want and to fight for what is right!
Wow absolutely loved this, couldn't put it down, the characters were all amazing and the forbidden teacher student romance wasn't cringy at all it was brilliant! All the little twists in the book gave it even more depth a total must read!
Thank you Michelle for choosing me as one of the arcs. This story is amazing. I love it when true love wins. The characters are amazing and very easy to fall in love with. I laughed and i cried. I hope there will be more stories to come.
I love this trope! I'm always excited to see how unique it can be. Chiara is an Itian 18 year old, living in Milan. Alistair is a 26 year old American, almost divorced visiting Italy when a flat tire on his rental is the catalyst for him to meet Chiara. They spend a few days, have a very steamy affair, with no personal information exchanged. Surprise comes when Chiara walks into Alistair's high school writing class, in California! Loved this one.
I so enjoy a forbidden romance. Blurry had me from its angsty start. And, then Michelle just kept the secrets, intrigue, suspense and hotness factor coming. This story is so layered and the way it’s laid out I found myself with many “what is happening now” moments. Alistair may start out as a distraction for Chiara. But, this trip was meant for him to loosen up. They become lost in one another. And, it is so so good.
Chiara is attending her manipulative cousins wedding, to the guy she has secretly had feelings for. But, dealing with her bully of a mother and all the family drama drives her to seek an escape. While doing so she comes across a stranded American. They spend a whirlwind weekend exploring each other and Italy.
Two months later Chiara is in California on an abroad study program. Excited to be away from her toxic family and studying at one of the most prestigious high schools, she is shocked to see her sexy American, Alistair, teaching her class.
Alistair is dealing with his own personal issues. He has missed Chiara, but knows they cannot have anything other than a teacher/student relationship. But, watching her live her life without him and his attempts at moving forward with his own only proves to him he cannot live without her.
As they try to navigate their relationship, deal with Alistair’s personal drama, and avoid mean girl drama- Chiara’s world spirals out of control. And, it could affect the newfound happiness they were building on.
— Eres linda. — Sus delicadas cejas se fruncen al mismo tiempo. — No soy linda. — Cierto.
Wow. Loved this story. The author hits us with massive amounts of spice within the first 25% of the book. I was hooked.
I loved how the characters met each other. I thought the whole scene was romantic and whimsical. Their romance was erotic and passionate right from their first meeting.
Such a great book. The ending felt a bit more rushed but I'm excited to see the Max is getting his own story. I can't wait to see what happens next.
If you're a fan of student teacher age gap romances then you're going to love this book. Sometimes the taboo nature of a student teacher relationship is too much for me but not with this book. The couple meets and gets together before he realizes she's his student. It adds some nice drama to the overall storyline when they reconnect.
I absolutely loved this book! Michelle has recently become one of my auto buy authors so when I was approved for an arc copy for review I was excited! I loved the relationship between Allistair and Chiara. With this being an age gap and student/teacher romance I’m so glad it did not get creepy. Michelle wrote this perfectly. Even the little things like including Breaking Benjamin (my favorite band) when the radio was turned on. I loved that this book had angst and the smut was top tier. Easy five star read for me.

I enjoyed this book! Finished in one sitting. The characters were complicated and beautiful. I liked watching them grow together. The only critique I would give is there are ALOT of storylines going on in this short book. Some of them get resolved, some get glossed over and some are kind of left. I wish maybe there was less differing storylines and just a few really thought through detailed ones. Otherwise great read.
This was my first Michelle Hercules book and it was FANTASTIC!!! I don't know why I waited so long to try her work. First off this cover is gorgeous!! I think it is a perfect fit for Alastar. I loved Alistar's character, he was just such a great guy! He tried so hard to do the right thing even if it bit him in the behind sometimes. Age gaps are not usually my thing but the difference between them isn't to bad and didn't detract from the story for me. I really liked Chiara which actually surprised me. Her character was so very detailed and relatable. She was such a down to earth person and that helped to bring her to life on the pages. I loved the setting of the story, it was told so beautifully that you could easily picture the places. It really made me want to see Italy for myself. I loved everything about this story and couldn't put it down once I started. There was drama and angst and plenty of steamy scenes too. Michelle Hercules has a wonderful writing style that brings the words to life and immerses you in her world. I loved it and would definitely recommend Blurry to anyone who loves a great love story!
I was so intrigued by the blurb for this book and I adore this author's words, so it is safe to say I was not disappointed with Blurry. It is raw and passionate that will have you fanning yourself. I am very picky about age gap romance but this one didn’t make it the focal point of the story and I lived for the angst between Alistair and Chiara. That connection that they had was intense to say the least. This story has epic fluidity and perfect character build through it. I really enjoyed this one!
