This was pretty cute! I had forgotten who the notorious Monique (h) was until I recalled the memorable moment where we met her in Hotel Queens. I think it's such a fun idea for Winter to write a novella for her! And it's with June (h) the uptight manager of the hotel.
There's a lovely emphasis placed on June's beauty. She believes Monique lies to her when she calls her beautiful, because she doesn't feel like her more rotund physique, older age and stretch marks are the peak of beauty, but the truth is that, not only is beauty in the eye of the beholder, but that every woman is beautiful in her own way. I thought it was really lovely how Monique emphasised, and later proved how attractive she found June.
Monique is a high class escort that has a list of 5 specific fantasies that she offers. The fifth one is one that June refuses to try (hence the title Number Five), as she more often prefers number four. I thought that was an interesting element too, but I think it's quite criminal to title this book Number Five and then . There was some though, and the scenes were written in exquisite detail.
Still, this was fun enough and I enjoyed revisiting characters from Hotel Queens!!
This is an excellent short story that could be read without prior knowledge of the characters as they appear in the Winterverse. I really loved the sexiness of this, duh, but also the way Winter showed us how much psychology goes into good sex and why Monique is someone people gladly pay to see. I will definitely be revisiting this short.
One thing that I love about this short story is how the author point about every woman are desirable no matter how ugly the world make they think they are. I find myself having respect for Monique Carson, Las Vegas so called premier CEO sex fantasy expert. She might appears as just a high class prostitute for some people but for me, she is better than most man out there especially Mrs. Menzies’s husband.
One thing about short story like this is it can be really sensual but this one has something to learn from it. I love it for that reason.
This was a nice little short story. Anything by Lee Winter is worth reading and this was no exception. This added a bit of fun extra flavor to the corresponding novel. There weren’t any significant plot-point additions in this one but it was some extra context that I think absolutely contributed to the overall storyline.
This story featured one of my favorite characters from the novel (and an entirely forgettable one) and I think it was a lot of fun. I would read an entire novel about this quirky character in a heartbeat if it was written.
This was so short that there wasn’t much to base a rating on, but what was there was awesome so 5-stars it is!
Ah ha so thats why Mrs Menzies looks after Monique in Room 612 Of the Hotel Duxton , Los Vegas. Or is it the other way around? Lee Winter can smash a short , sensual story as a stand alone or developing previous side characters
Very sexy short story. I love that this story embraces a woman who isn't stereotypically beautiful, which is not to say she wasn't beautiful in her own right.
