The last thing I wanted was to run from my past- right into my fated mate.
Omega wolf Rashad Hall is running. He needs a safe place to start over, and the last thing he wants is an alpha. When he steps into Seven Corners and immediately scents “mate,” he fights his most basic impulse to seek out his one true love, Bronx Bolder, the lead alpha who has to grant permission to stay on his territory. Instead Rashad trespasses, courting disaster, but he’s irresistibly drawn the strong, tempting, in-control alpha. Rashad can’t let go of his fears. What happens when he can’t stay away from Bronx, either?
Alpha wolf Bronx Bolder can’t find an omega strong enough to stand by his side, and he’s tired of looking. When he discovers omega wolf Rashad started a small successful business on his territory, Bronx starts out feeling irked but soon comes to admire Rashad’s fighting spirit. When he realizes they’re fated mates, it’s easy to fall in love- and into bed- with the alluring, mysterious omega. Rashad pulls Bronx close, then pushes him away. Rashad’s keeping a lot of secrets, including the result of their tryst- a pregnancy. When Rashad’s past comes back to bite him, can Bronx protect him and the new life in his womb?
What’s Rashad running from? How will his past come back to haunt him? Can Bronx help his fated mate overcome his fears for a chance at true love?
This is the first book in the Seven Corner Shifters series. This book has a HEA and contains occasional strong language, MPREG, and hot, spicy grownup stuff. The omegas are heating up and the alphas are very knotty boys. Get a FREE short story when you join the newsletter family!
Ava Beringer is a major-league nerd who started off writing fanfiction and fell in love with mpreg and omegaverse. She loves to heat up a slick omega and a knotty alpha. By day she’s a good thirty-something midwestern girl, but she has a dark side. Okay, not really. She’s as bubbly as champagne but she can be really cheeky when you get her going.
She’s an aspiring digital nomad who’s traveled to thirty-two countries and counting. If she’s lucky, a cat will adopt her along the way.
Really enjoyed this a lot... Though spending pretty much the second half of the book crying happy tears may have been a bit much! Plenty of humor and fun as well. Love these characters a lot!

Rashad is an omega that wasted six years on an alpha who dumped him for a different omega. The pack then runs him off. He ends up in Seven Corners and lucky to land at the B&B. The owner is wanting to sell her little shop down the street. When Rashad offers to buy it, she tells him to talk to Alpha Bronx. He says he will and then doesn't. He doesn't want anything to do with another alpha, so knowingly starts up a business without permission. Bronx is the pack alpha and older brother to three other brothers. When he smells his fated mate he immediately goes after him. He's not upset to find Rashad setting up a business but he does get upset when Rashad doesn't want to bond with him. When Rashad goes into heat he goes to Bronx and nature takes it's course.
This was a really short story and I think that was why it was lacking IMO. I didn't feel like these two had much chemistry between them. Not enough time to flesh out all the characters introduced, even the two MCs. Bronx didn't seem like a strong alpha and Rashad seemed more like a beta. These two go at it like bunnies during a heat and don't think a pregnancy is a very possible outcome. Then Rashad's previous alpha comes looking for him without explanation of why he suddenly wants him back, insults him and is surprised when Rashad doesn't fall at his feet. The pack lets him off pretty easy which seems like a weak thing to do but ok. Everyone getting into Bronx and Rashad's relationship like it's their own. Lake of communication is a big issue. I think if this had been a full length novel it would possibly been better.
The world building was pretty weak. Most of the rules and the world setting itself were a mystery to me and controversial, for example, how 7 packs live in the same city peacefully, allegedly, yet attack everyone who crosses in their territory without talking first. That is just one example, but there are plenty more about the rules of the world, human knowledge about shifter and paranormal, precise territory limits and pack rules etc. It was.. perfunctory. When there is a need, something is thrown into the story, like how human law enforcement allows shifters to do their own justice, which would imply humans are aware of paranormal, yet there is a need for secrecy, which would indicate the opposite. It was very perfunctory and only by necessity so I would say the world setting is weak. The story itself was okay for such a short book. It was also rather perfunctory, like a general story with not much details or depth, but it is a short book. Of course, there was also plenty of drama in the relationship as well, but that was to be expected I guess. It was okay.

4.25 stars. Ha! This narrative was just how I like my fun alpha omega shifter stories, so much joy, teasing, laughter, and bantering.
Bronx is alpha of the pack and is stunned that a feisty omega has sneaked into his territory and even started a business, without asking him. They are fated mates, only, Rashad had a troubled past that keeps him to get involved with Bronx. Bronx is already hopelessly in love with Rashad.
Bronx is irresistible, fun, and passionate. Rashad pushes and pulls, runs up the mountain to be with Bronx, to leave him hanging after. Bronx is very patient with Rashad but even Bronx has limits.
The whole town loves Rashad, it’s obvious for everyone Bronx and Rashad are fated mates. Now Rashad has to convince himself Bronx is a safe place.
I adored this story, it was wonderfully written, clearly outlined, fast-paced, with an upbeat vibe, a lot of emotions, hurt/comfort, steam, and highly entertaining. The ingredients are pure and with the right weight: a feisty independent omega, a bulk of a protective alpha, enter some shifting, some delightful brothers, some dedicated villagers, others packs, some steamy sexiness and voila you got one, correction two perfect treats, the best you could wish for.
This story made me feel good, it was humorous, lighthearted, full of energy, sexiness, and a lot of positivity. A story with a perfect HEA.
Omega Rashad just arrived in Seven Corners after being kicked out of his last pack by his mate/alpha, Vince, for a newer younger model. Bronx is the Alpha of one of the several surrounding packs in the area that all converge onto Seven Corners.
Rashad scents his fated mate as soon as he gets off the bus and due to his fears from his last relationship he's determined not to seek out his mate. When Rashad and Bronx meet in the woods unexpectedly Rashad wonders if he should have second thoughts.
It was cute, sweet and Bronx's brothers are really funny. The story was good. World building too. Bronx has to work at getting Rashad to trust him.
The book is in both Rashad and Bronx's POV, but mostly Rashad's. The angst level is low.
Alpha Bronx Bolder, is the leader of his pack in Seven Corners, and single. One day, he longs to have his own mate and pups, despite making others believe he is done looking for love. Bronx's problem is not having the right omega for him. An omega that is fiercely independent and does not 'need' him. His wolf becomes restless and the alpha can't figure out why. Until he senses and scents him... Mate!
Omega Rashad Hall, is on the run. His former alpha used and abused him. Breaking Rashad down, while Victor's pack watched with zero interference. After being chased off pack lands, he arrives in Seven Corners by bus. Immediately, he's scented his mate but chooses to ignore it. Can't really blame him after what happened.
Meeting so many kind people along the way just has to be a fluke. No one is that nice to a complete stranger. Against all advice, Rashad opens his business on another pack's territory. Not once seeking permission. In a twist of events, Bronx and Rashad meet- the mate avoidance dances commence. After a month of the proverbial elephant in the room, Bronx has had enough. Walking away becomes too hard for both. One is afraid to tell the truth. The other doesn't wish to force himself on his mate. Things go wrong and a pregnancy is involved.
Leave it up to the busy body brothers to get involved as only they know how.
Two wolves that almost always seem to talk past one another. Lots of misunderstandings, but what a really fun read.
Everyone needs a family like the Bolder brothers. Tristan, Jorik and Larkin, are hilarious.
Tracer is the leader of another pack, but he definitely needs a story.

Very quick, easy read! I liked the characters and how they were developed in a short novella and the first book in the Seven Corners Shifters series. I thought it was a great start and has a lot of potential.
Rashad and Bronx both want a relationship but they each need something/someone specific who can fulfill their needs based on past experiences and what each man knows he must find in another. Their romance is a sweet and loving one.
Plus, I always love a snarky character and Rashad gave me humorous lines to laugh at.
I think I would rate this a 3.5. The characters were cute and flushed out and the world of seven corners is sweet and interesting. I loved the brotherly dynamic and I can't wait to meet the rest of them.
I have to admit that occasionally I read a few lower star reviews before I submit my own. And I admit I don't usually read a book review before I buy it.
Having said that.. I feel like this is a very good book filled with very low angst, Insta drive to find their fated mate... but not wanting to, reference to past abuse that isn't talked about in detail.. But do you really need to know every moment of what that abuse was?, glorious sex outside, inside, did I say sex? A ton of sweetness, smiles, humor and cute babies are included.
Rashad is a strong minded omega that wants to live his life and not have any alpha dominate him. The book says he escapes from an abusive alpha, when he really is thrown out of the house after his alpha of six years chooses another omega. He ended up in a lovely town that was full of all kinds of shifters who mostly got along. There is a few references to the "mostly" but it is never explained. Maybe in another book? Bronx is the head alpha for his pack and he is in no hurry to find a mate, let alone a fated mate. His three brothers feature in this book quite a bit and add humor and make you want to have them in your own family. The entire town realizes both are mates but Rashad and Bronx are unaware at first, until they meet face to face.
This was a chance for me to escape my everyday life and imagine two people who end up together, drawn by fate to the same lovely town and end up with a great family. I smiled when I finished this book because I was so happy with the ending. Isn't that something an author's supposed to do for a reader? Enjoy!

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! This is book is part of the Seven Corners Shifters series why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. Omega Rashad is running for his life, he was used and abused at the hands of an Alpha all this in front of the pack with no one to speak up for him or the wrong being done to him. He takes the bus arrives in Seven Corners where he knows his fated mate is the Alpha of the pack, but he wants no part of anymore Alphas and thus didn’t ask permission to be on the land not only did he not get permission he opens a business a successful one at that. Bronx is the fated mate and Alpha and because of the mate thing they can’t stay away from each other with a pregnancy but what happens when Rashad abusive alpha come for him, will Bronx protect him and keep him and their baby safe and can they find happiness?
This was a really sweet story between an independent omega escaping his past and a respected pack alpha who hopes for a strong mate to stand at his side. I really enjoyed the easy chemistry between omega Rashad and alpha Bronx. There is a bit of insta-lust/insta-love with the immediate sensing of fated mates, but they build their relationship through their interactions. It was quick, but not an immediate get-together like in some books, so the pacing was good and it felt believable.
I am in love with the people of their town, Seven Corners! There are all different kinds of shifters in a town where everyone knows everyone. The people are all pretty friendly and act like pack and get along in spite of differences in species. (I would love to live there myself!). It feels like a big family at times and brought a smile to my face. I was pretty fond of the supporting characters- from Bronx's rambunctious and loyal brothers to his rival/friend alpha of a neighboring pack. I really hope to read more books in this series centering on this town and it's people.
I loved this book! The first of the Seven Corners Shifters series and it’s a great start! Rashad is an omega wolf on the run after being forced out of his pack by his previous alpha. He was mistreated and that has him determined to stay away from all alphas. That is until he steps off the bus in Seven Corners and immediately scents his fated mate. He will find a place to start over and open his own coffee shop. Soon, Bronx, the alpha in town and Rashad’s mate is showing up and he’s a bit upset Rashad didn’t seek him out first. Bronx wants to be with Rashad right away but Rashad isn’t sure. It’s a push and pull between the two until Bronx just can’t do it anymore. Things will heat up when Rashad gets caught in another pack’s territory and he gets injured. Once he is safe with Bronx, he will reveal the secret he has been keeping. This will give Bronx the chance to get Rashad to tell him exactly why he has been pushing him away and what he wants. Rashad will tell him that he’s ready to be mates and it will allow them to begin their lives together as a family.

Rashad just wants to start his life over again in a town where he doesn’t have to be reminded about his past. Getting off the bus in Seven Corners, he feels the town call to him and soon starts to build a nice little life for himself. Yes, everyone told him that he needed to talk to Bronx Bolder, the alpha of the territory he was in, but Rashad was done with alphas and he didn’t want to meet Bronx despite the fact that he scented Bronx as his fated mate the minute he stepped into town. Rashad thinks that his past with an abusive ex is reason to resist the temptation of his fated mate while Bronx is trying to hold on until Rashad can trust another alpha. Will these two every find their way together, despite the obstacles in their way? Ava Berringer’s first book into the shifter world is a great introduction into the Seven Corners series. Carefully written the reader will find themselves finishing the book before they even know it. It is filled with sweetness and fluff and just a little angst, enough to keep the story moving. I look forward to more from the author in this series.
This lighter, fun story was just what I needed after some heavier reads. Rashad really doesn't want an alpha, but Bronx isn't just any alpha. I loved Bronx and his brothers; their antics showed how different they were from the alpha that Rashad ran from. While I could understand Rashad's reluctance to do things the correct way and meet Bronx, I really wanted to smack him upside the head a few times. He really made some poor decisions; thankfully, none of them turned out as bad as they could have.
Bronx is the kind of alpha that most shifters would probably be happy with. I was impressed by his restraint and patience with Rashad considering everything. I loved how proud he was of Rashad and his independence. I enjoyed how all the different packs in town managed to get along, kept the city peaceful, and how protective they all were of Rashad. There were some pretty cute and funny scenes in this one that made me smile.
This story was a fun start to a new series, and I am looking forward to more stories set in this world.

Rashad is just out of a 6 year relationship that was anything but good hes not emotionally ready for more but when he reaches 7 corners his wolf tells him his Alpha mate is near. But being and Omega who had one bad relationship he doesn't want another Alpha controlling him.
Bronx there's something new in the air his omega's scent there's also and intruder setting up shop in his territory this intruder and his mate are the same person his mate is gun shy about a relationship so Bronx will have to be very patient if he wants to win his mate over.
This book has some positive things about it but I just couldn't feel the connection between the too MC'S there was allot of sex but it didn't seem they really clicked as a couple until after Rashad stopped second guessing Bronx and gave there relationship a chance so im just on the fence about them. The other characters especially Bronx brothers were funny and it was good Rashad got closer on his past.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
His Protective Alpha is the first in the Seven Corners Shifters series and centers around a small town where multiple packs have carved out a peaceful existence together. While the premise to His Protective Alpha was interesting enough, the execution was relatively weak. Combined with a rather forgettable pair of main characters, I found myself disappointed in this inaugural entry into the series.
The writing and pacing to His Protective Alpha stumbled from page one. The sentences tended to run on excessively and the structure and tone were somewhat immature. I didn’t feel as though I was reading a book from an established author. There wasn’t much depth to the plot and this was coupled with uneven pacing. Often important moments felt rushed and weren’t given the structure they needed in order to build out the story in a meaningful way.
Rashad lands in a strange town, Seven Corners, that is inhabited by multiple types of shifters instead of just one type like most places. As soon as he steps of the bus, his wolf immediately starts giving Roshad signals that his fated mate is near by. Bronx, one of the alphas in Seven Corners, catches the scent of a new wolf in his territory and feels like there’s something special about this scent. When they come across each other in the woods, they both quickly realize who they are to each other. Due to some PTSD from Roshad’s past experiences, it’s hard for these two males to fully mate.
This story was incredible. It was sweet, funny, all of the characters were adorable and there was tons of steamy action. I’m looking forward to the next book in the Seven Corners series.
18+ steaminess, M/M with M-Preg, no cliffhanger and HEA
I was given this book for free from Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving this honest review
It was a quick sweet read. Rashad was abused for 6 years, though there wasn't really any in-depth explanation of what the abuse entailed, and when he was run out of his pack, he takes off. I didn't understand the "running" portion as his pack kicked him out so I'm not sure what he was really running from. But one thing is fore sure, he wants nothing to do with another Alpha. When he gets off the bus in Seven Corners, he gets wind of his mate. He is bound and determined he is not going to give in to his want of a mate as he knows he can never trust an Alpha again. When he does meet Bronx, Bronx knows that he will need to be careful with Rashad & take things slowly. I loved that Bronx slowly shows Rashad that not all Alphas want to change their mates and really want a strong mate by their side. I loved Bronx's brothers & can't wait for the next book in the series.
I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest opinion.
It was not a bad story but unfortunately it wasn't for me. I love shifter books and normally i don't mind mpreg but Rashad and Bronx's relationship was not what I was looking for. I hoped to read a nice, sweet fated mates romance with some past drama and what i got was a very short, kinda boring and very harlequin-ish story without much plot. In theory there was some drama but the story was mostly about having sex and then being pregnant...
Fated mates stories typically are insta-love romances and it is absolutely fine, it is really sweet. However, i would like to see some connection between MCs, see them grow closer, spend time together (outside of their bedroom). I didn't get it here. I didn't warm up to MCs, their complete lack of communication and Rashad's actions were annoying. And, sweet baby Jesus, I HATE the word "manhood"! Anytime i see it in a book i just want to never read it again.

Does he need to kiss the ring? Rashad was escaping from an abusive relationship he endured for 6 years. When he exited the bus at 7 corners, he recognized home. Something drew him. He found shelter and a purpose. He was advised to coordinate with the Alpha Bronx before starting any new enterprise. His baggage from his relationship with his last alpha, made him wary. Bronx, embraced his responsibility for his territory. He accepted he was lonely and was ready for a mate. He didn't expect him to show up and the need to seek him out. He wanted an equal and not a submissive. He wanted a partner! Does Rashad meet his requirements? How does he handle Rashad ignoring the need for a courtesy call? Can Rashad like Bronxy? What does his old alpha think? What does 7 corners think of Rashad? Great story. Excellent supporting pack members. Great story flow. I look forward to more mating. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Who doesn’t love to read a great paranormal story about an Omega who is running away from an abusive alpha and runs into the most caring and loving alpha he could ever find? Rashad left his old pack after being chased away and arrived in Seven Corners, where he felt welcomed by multiple different shifters. He set up shop in a drive-through coffee and breakfast place on the alphas territory without permission, then he meets the alpha Bronx. Where Bronx has to deal with him flirting and then running away, then they finally can’t resist their attraction to each other, Rashad realises that Bronx is his fated mate and they finally become mated after lots of conflicted feelings from Rashad. There is a happily ever after for these two wolves, but who will be next to find their fated mate?

OMG...I had so much fun reading this first book in the series. These characters...their personalities...the author did a great job keeping me entertained from start to finish. i love omega/alpha shifter stories and this one is the reason I keep coming back. Rashad and Bronx as fated mates were great together. Bronx the protector...I just loved him...so caring and understanding of Rashad wants and needs...the perfect alpha. Rashad really needed that and was able to trust again. Their romance was sweet and HOT...so glad they had a wonderful HEA with lovely additions to the pack...sweet!...and oh boy, i just had to add that the author hit the jackpot with Tristan...his was a joy/delight to read. Here's hoping he is next to fall in love and get mated in the next book...LOL

His protective Alpha by Ava Beringer brings us Rashad, an Omega who is escaping a bad long-term relationship. He’s trying to prove to himself that he can return to being that strong independent person he was before he let what he thought was love change him. He surprisingly stumbles upon his fated mate in Bronx when he stops in his travels. As he fights his pull toward his mate Rashad finds himself being pulled deeper and deeper into a relationship he’s not sure he’s ready for. An Omega trying to make it on his own and an Alpha trying to give his Mate what he needs, even if it means hurting himself in the process. That is the touching story that the author brings us in the first book in the new Seven Corners Shifters series. Lots of great side characters that I can’t wait to see more of in the future. All in all a great read.
Rashad had been forced to run but when he arrives in Seven Corners he scents his fated mate. Omega Rashad had been on the run for forty-eight hours when he arrives he catches the scent of his fated mate but after what he has left he has no interest in a mate. He gets a room at the local B&B and the owner Miss Sadie also owns a disused shop which Rashad thinks could be a good business. He knocks a hole in the wall and turns it into a drive through for coffee and sandwiches but still has not sought permission from the Alpha to live there. Alpha Bronx Bolder has been hard at work patrolling his territory then as he is talking to his brother he scents the air coming from town and scents his fated mate.

Omega Rashad Hall has been abused by his former Alpha and wants to get far away from him. He arrives in Seven Corners but scents his mate and wants no part of that. So without permission from the Alpha, he opens up his new business.
Alpha Bronx Bolder is the leader of his pack in Seven Corners, and Rashad is his fated mate. Bronx wants a mate and pups, but he needs an Omega who is strong enough to stand beside him, not needy. Then he wolf scents his mate! When they meet, will Rashad be able to put his fear of abuse behind him and trust Bronx who has not forced him into mating? Will Bronx be able to give Rashad time to build trust in him? Will they finally find what they need in each other?
Ok I loved Rashad and Bronx. Rashad has been running for his life and decides he is done with alphas but he quickly discovers upon his arrival in Seven Corners that his mate is there. Determined to avoid him for as long as possible, he opens up his own coffee shop without contacting the territory alpha. Bronx finds his mate has moved in and opened up a coffee shop without notifying him but has a hard time being angry about it. Instead he finds his heart slowly breaking as Rashad continues to keep him at arms length. When they both finally figure it out, they make a lovely family. This book is relatively low angst with lots of lovable characters. Bronx’s brothers are big goofballs and steal just about every scene they are in. I can’t wait to see if they get their own HEAs.
Rashad is an Omega, who had been abused by his former alpha, so he ra as far awa as he could. He lands in a small town called Seven Corners. The town is unusual in as it is not only in the center of 7 different packs of wolf shifters, but also home to many other paranormals. The town itself seems to welcome him, but he also smells his mate, immediately after he gets off the bus. Still having come straight from a bad experience he does not trust any alpha. The book is a wonderful read, especially as Rashad's alpha is a swet, patient guy, understanding what Rashad needs of him at that specific moment. A truly heart-warming story, that is well worht reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This author is new to me and I’m excited to find another writer of shifter Mpreg.
This is definitely a sweet, low angst, hurt/comfort, shifter Mpreg, fated mates story, with an independent omega, a strong alpha and a town that is ready to stand behind them.
Rashad knew what he was running from but had no idea who he was running to, until he stepped off the bus. His past didn’t make him want to cozy up to any alpha, anytime soon. Bronx is a strong and fair alpha who takes care of his pack and town. When he scents his omega mate, he is ready to jump all in but follows Rashad’s lead.
I truly enjoyed meeting this pack, and watching Rashad and Bronx work through their needs and I can’t wait to read more about them and the other packs surrounding them.
The story had a lot of potential but I don’t feel it lived up to it. I loved Bronx, he was patient, sweet, loving and kind. Rashad, well til he got his stuff together, I didn’t like him. He was so hung up over a jerk of an ex that he was willing to punish his fated mate. He didn’t treat Bronx well at all in the beginning. His behavior was hurtful and immature through most of the story. All the relationship angst felt immature to me. The outside drama was resolved way too quickly. It felt anticlimactic. The writing was done well. And the side characters were great. Im not sure if this one enticed me enough to read further in the series tho. I’ll have to think on it since the writing itself was good and I liked Bronx and his brothers so much.
