As sisters, they couldn't be more different, but can they count on each other when it's all said and done?
Ruth Webber's only focus in life is saving the business her late father left behind and, since her capricious younger sister doesn't care about family legacy, she must do it alone. When a long weekend trip presents an opportunity to advance the family interests, Ruth won't let anything stand in her way, not even her sister's drama or the smile of a handsome new friend.
Despite what Ruth thinks, family means a great deal to Angela, but the unexpected loss of her husband ended her dreams of having one of her own. Now, her only chance of building a new dream lies in her writing career, if she has the strength to act on it. All she needs is a weekend away to clear her thoughts.
What Ruth and Angela don't realize is that a simple weekend getaway is about to test their values, faith, and family bond like never before.

Chloe S. Flanagan is an author, technical writer, blogger, and graduate of New York University. She enjoys exploring the Christian walk frankly and thoughtfully in her fiction and in her blog, The Candid Corinthian. When she’s not writing Chloe loves music, travel, reading books in all genres, and spending time with family.
Another great read by Chloe Flanagan! This book follows 2 sisters who are very different from each other and find themselves on a weekend getaway together. When something happens to threaten to unravel one sister's dream, will the other give up her own to save her sister in spite of their differences? This book had great characters, good spiritual depth, some good lessons about sacrificial love and themes of family expectations, foster care, adoption, and abuse hovered in the background. There was a solid mystery and though I had some suspicions, I was still surprised at the outcome. There was a minor romance as part of a sub-plot as well if you enjoy romance with your mysteries. Since I'm generally not a huge fan of romance, I can do without, but this one was so minor and based on the character, it was a welcome addition. All in all, this was an enjoyable story that was easily read in a day. I would recommend to fans of general fiction, women's fiction and Christian fiction mysteries.
Loved this book!!! Ruth and Angela are sisters, but when their parents pass, and then Angela's husband, the two of them are struggling to connect with each other, and struggling with their professional lives. When Ruth agrees to go to Georgia to visit their "aunt and uncle" who were good friends of their parents, will they be able to reconnect and figure things out, or will they be estranged even further? When Ruth is injured in an ATV accident, will this help or hurt them even further? Such a great story of them pulling together and finding new dreams to dream.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
One sister is about to lose her family's business. The other sister is facing a horrific revelation from her past. Distant from each other for some time, the two of them face their trials together in this heartwarming story about the importance of family, and the need for God. Chloe Flanagan has an uncanny ability to make the emotional aspects of her stories tangible and real. You feel the pain of the sisters as they try to figure out how to move forward. The book has drama, suspense, and a touch of romance. Great read!
I love the mystery of this story! The theme of the story is so realistic! Family not putting each other in the proper perspective. The characters have many different situations to work through that makes them realize where they are headed. This story is so good and you will want to read it as much as I did!
Ms. Flanagan has done it again. Another un-put-down-able book. This is a compelling story, told very well, with deep ties between sisters - some they never even realized. A lovely read that ended all too soon.
What an intriguing storyline! Just when you think you've figured out what's happening - there is an incident that makes you sit back and rethink everything. After 10 years of things going along in a somewhat placid manner, on a 4 day getaway with friends things start to fall apart from one day to the next. Great character development from every aspect make this a touching addition to this new Potter's House (3) series.
This book was so good! It's a well written story that has just the right amount of drama and suspense to keep you turning the pages. This book was an absolute joy to read.
A very good story about two sisters that are very different from each other. They go on a weekend getaway. Then something happens to threaten one of them. This book is a good clean Christian one. I would recommend it.
Thoroughly enjoyed this story of 2 sisters, 1 business minded (Ruth) and 1 friendly and outgoing (Angela). I could see many similarities between them and me and my own sister, with me being like Ruth. While being close as children, responsibilities and life has pulled them apart till circumstances brought them together for a weekend where external forces cause choices between family and business. Also good themes of adoption and fulfilling dreams. Just enough intrigue, romance and even some suspense to keep it interesting. One point I chuckled out loud when the statement was made, ‘men made absolutely no sense’.
