*** Reviewing “THE FATAL FLAMINGO” by Jemima Jenkins *** Walking up to the address they were given, Luca and Elisa, from Quayside Designs, were open-mouthed with shock. In this fancy neighborhood, the house and wrought iron railing had been painted bright pink, the paint flaking off of the railing which made it look even worse. The garden was a mess of rose bushes in pink pots and different shades of pink flamingos poking out of the ground everywhere you looked. Elisa was supposed to host the interior design segment of a new home renovation show for TV. The house was owned by the producer. But no one was answering the door.
Bobby Miller’s rude wife, Linda, drove up. She ignored Luca and said Bobby promised to be here waiting for them. The caretaker Ted also should have been here. The backyard was also pink, pink stones, pink outdoor furniture. Then Elisa spotted a boot sticking out from a bush. The body was in a pool of blood. He was dead, but his skin was still warm. The caretaker? He didn’t look like a caretaker with jeans, mismatched socks, and good quality leather boots. One of the flamingo garden stakes was sticking out of his back, but no sign of a struggle. Elisa was not expecting her old flame Greg, an Inspector at the local police station, to show up. He asked her to stay out of this case since, the year before, she almost got herself killed. In the meantime, Linda has driven away from the crime scene.
Luca and Elisa went next door to the friendly and talkative Mrs. Jones and found that the producer’s first wife (Deidre) was the sister of the dead caretaker (Tim). Mrs. Jones called Deidre to drive over to chat. The pink flamingo headband on her hair and flamingos on her sneakers told them she was the flamingo lover with the terrible decorative taste. She had a key and they all trooped over next door to look inside the house for clues. It was also decorated inside with flamingos, but this time Elisa liked the effect. So Deidre hired Elisa and Luca to find who killed her brother. She had no confidence in the police. Just then an angry thud on the back door sounded, and Greg’s face was furious at her interfering again.
When Elisa’s best friend Stella arrived, the three of them were ready to ramp up the investigation. Who killed Tim, the caretaker, and why? This is quite an in-depth mystery, not just a quick story. So grab your copy of the anthology and delve into these great cozy mysteries that will keep you following the clues and trying to figure out who-dun-it.

I loved it.
Merged review:

A Whole Lawn of Love is a short story in the Cedar Fish Campground series. In this story, Thea does something for Henny only to have it destroyed so she goes on a mission to find the culprit and do something else for Henny's anniversary.
I received an ARC of this story from the author and this is my honest, unbiased review. The story's well-written with wonderful characters and it'll touch your heart. It's a quick, fun read about friendship. I was drawn in from the beginning and kept hooked throughout reading it in one sitting. I highly recommend both the story and the series.
One of the stories in this book is 'Whole Lawn of Love' by Zoey Chase. It features the characters of her Cedar Fish Campground series but is complete in itself.
It is about the heartbreak of memories for Hennie and the joy of having Thea and others connecting with her in a very touching tribute of remembered love.
A delightful short story. This was provided to me by the author for review.
Love this short story! Hennie is down in the dumps as her anniversary is coming up. Unfortunately, her husband died several years ago. Thea searches for a plan to cheer her up. She decides to decorate with the flamingos that Hennie’s husband displayed each year. But things go downhill from there until Thea solves the mystery
Cute short story, lovely characters and well written. I would have liked a little more background info but still an enjoyable read. I received a complimentary copy from the author and leaving an honest review.
I was given a complimentary ARC of this short story, A Whole Lawn of Love, and I loved it. Thea is an amazing character who keeps searching to find out what happened. Looking forward to her next adventure. I have reviewed all the stories in the book. A Bird-Brained Scheme- a great cozy mystery. I like that the main character is just finding out how to be a witch. I look forward to more stories with Poppy and more books by this author. The Case of the Flamingo Fakery- is a fun quick read. I like the main character, Mandy. The Fatal Flamingo- I liked this story. It was a great quick read with great characters. I would like to read more of this series but can't find any in Canada. The Only Witness- sad beginning. This story is about Naomi's mom and her flamingo. It was impossible to put down. Well written. Red Herrings & Pink Flamingos- this one had me puzzled right until the end. Loved it Big Birds and Burglary- I loved this book about a character who can talk to animals just like Dolittle. The Biscuit Mix-Up- this one was fun to read. Pink Flamingos and the Witch- I loved this one. The characters are great and I loved the way they figured out what happened. Azure and the Case of the Flocked Yards- this one took a little bit to get into it, but I enjoyed the ending.
How amazing there really is A Pink Flamingo Day! This is an amusing (in a way) short book. Henni was supposed to wake to a lawn filled with bride & groom pink flamingos, but, someone had destroyed them. Her husband used to do it on their anniversary & that’s why Thea got involved. She manages to find the culprit who confesses in front of the local policeman & o. Her way home she comes across a magnificent surprise for Henni.
Short and Poignant Love Story This is a cute and short novella that stars pink lawn flamingos. It introduces a bad seed competitor that will always be a pain in the neighborhood. There is also a sweet love story. For the most part, it needs to be read as part of a series because it gives almost no background on any of the characters, the town they live in, or what they do for a living.
This is a magical book about love and loss and the memories we have upon the loss of a loved one. Very well written short with fabulous characters. Hennie is a woman after my own heart; sometimes we are scared to think about our loss but in the end you will deeply remember the good over the bad. Enjoy! I received an ebook from the author and this is my voluntary, honest review.
Exceptional story of a woman with a large collection of lawn flamingos and the mystery of their destruction. In trying to solve the crime, her friend meets the kindly old man who creates them. Well written, touching story.
