Turns out the beautiful man from the club is my new professor... But he wasn’t when he kissed me.

Olivia Barclay has never set foot in a strip club. She’s definitely not a girl who would seize the stage. But when she learns her ‘perfect’ boyfriend has been cheating, she lets loose for the first time.

From the moment Sawyer rescues her in the parking lot at Velvet’s, Olivia realizes he’s what she’s been missing. The way he touches her sets her on fire. But one mistake becomes two when she learns Sawyer isn’t only the passionate, mysterious man she stayed up all night with...

He’s her new professor.

Sawyer Redmond had it all, until it was stolen from him. For the next year, he has one job to do. Too bad Olivia calls to him like no woman has.

He wants to challenge her, break her, own her. But she’s a student, and completely off-limits. Breaking the rules to claim her could cost him everything.

But when has that ever stopped him?

CRAVE is an illicit, forbidden full-length novel and book 1 in the OFF-LIMITS trilogy. An addictive, enthralling romance from WSJ and USA Today bestselling author Piper Lawson.

Sometimes all you need is a steamy book

This book is a great choice for those who enjoy reading about age gap and student-teacher romance. However, it's worth noting that the story ends with a cliffhanger. While the story was enjoyable, I felt that it ended rather abruptly, leaving me wanting more. Also, I would have appreciated more character and story development.

Overall, an entertaining read. I'm looking forward to the next novel.

*** Thank you to NetGalley, Piper Lawson, and Dreamscape Media for graciously sending me the audiobook to review. As always, all thoughts are my own.***

This was a great professor/student read! It does end on a cliffhanger, but their second book comes out in January! There is great chemistry, but I can't say much about their relationship because we didn't see too much of it. Hoping their second book has more of the two of them together because I seriously can't wait.

🎧🎧AUDIO REVIEW🎧🎧

First, let me just say that no two narrators have ever been so perfectly chosen for a story! I mean, sure, Connor Crais could be narrating a comic book and I’d still tingle all over but the greatness in this audio comes from both his and Vanessa Edwin’s narration together. She brought to life Olivia for me exactly as I’d picture her to be and he Sawyer! It was a thing of beauty and even though I have not *read* the book (yet), I’d more than likely die on the hill of, this audio is a far better experience than the ebook. DIE ON THE HILL I say!

Okay, so about this story. Holy delicious fire on a cracker, they sucked me in from the very beginning and never stopped for 5 hours! The overall unfolding of the plot thus far is not exactly surprising although there are some tiny little unexpected turns here and there, but I still had that feeling of unexpected anxiety awaiting what would happen next. I know, I sound like a weirdo, right? But it’s Piper’s writing skill!! This is my third couple of hers that I have invested in and with each one, she has not only brought her a-game, but has also topped herself!

Crave is a drop in the bucket to what’s to come and knowing how well Piper can put together a story makes me want to devour the next two books yesterday! There is so much to learn about both Sawyer and Olivia and how they will impact each other today, and in the future, and I know it’s going to be a story that will stick with me!! GAH, I can’t wait!!

Hard to like the characters

Maybe this is harsh, but there was nothing likeable about either if the main characters in this book. Olivia, despite her attempts otherwise, is a spoiled rich girl who has everything on her life paid for by her parents. She wants to break away from them, but it seems half-hearted, at best. She claims she's doing it for her younger sister, but her sister even tells her not to bother. Still, Olivia tries to act like a hero.
Sawyer is kind of creepy. He knows that what he's doing with Olivia is wrong, but he continues on the path to ruin by being with her. His anger is supposed to make him sexy, but just falls flat. He seems like he only wants power. His possiness gets old.
By the end of the book, I really didn't care what happened to them. Not planning on reading the next part because, in my opinion, this could have been just one book instead of two.

Teach/student, slowish burn romance with a plot. Sounds good yeah?
And it is, except for the cliffhanger.
Romance shouldn't end on a cliffhanger, especially contemporary romance.
I finished this book and really enjoyed it, but there are 2 more books for Sawyer & Olivia's story and I don't have any credits left in my Audible account.
And since they are super spendy in the price tag ($42.97 for each 5hr book WTF?!) I will not be purchasing them.
I will likely never know what happens between Olivia & Sawyer and that bugs me. But, I will not pay more for these books than I have for full cast romantasy books that are more than 20 hours long.
That price tag is ridiculous and the author should be ashamed.
The paperbacks are more reasonably priced, but I'm so turned off by the Audible fiasco I don't want to give this author money now. We will see if I change my mind as I cool down.
Thanks to NetGalley & Dreamscape Select for my ALC.

“We’re on the edge of a thrilling wilderness I never knew existed. One that would’ve terrified me before him, but now, I want to move further into that tantalizing unknown.”

4/5 ⭐️

WARNING: This book is NSFW, I learnt this the hard way. Although wearing a face mask did help somewhat with concealing my expressions. 😂

After Beta reading Tease Me by Piper Lawson, I knew I couldn’t wait to read the full length novel that became Crave. And boy oh boy, Piper came through with my man Sawyer’s story alongside Olivia. And yes, I already claimed Sawyer so HANDS OFF LADIES!

Two complete opposites not only in age, but life and personality too. Olivia ‘Liv’ Barclay and Sawyer Redmond meet through an unexpected event, that leads to a forbidden journey with their constant craving of the forbidden fruit that is their relationship.

Crave leads you on a oh so delicious, mesmerising and exciting adventure through the perspectives of Olivia and Sawyer. Throughout the journey, while learning about both Olivia and Sawyer individually on a personal and deeper level, since Piper had them unravel throughout slowly, pulling back their layers to get to know and understand them more. Simultaneously we are treated to drama throughout, considering everything that is going on in and around Olivia. With a family that won’t stop pushing her, an ex-boyfriend Adam who just won’t quit and a situation courtesy of a jealous and hateful classmate, that leads to unwanted attention for Olivia from everyone. It had you gripping on tight to the story. And with the added complication of a hot and cold relationship that is constantly going back and forth between her and Sawyer. It resulted in a lot of new feelings and emotions, which made way to an illicit relationship. Of which Piper ensured you fell down the rabbit hole, making way to wanting more. There was also the added element of mystery considering the enigma that Sawyer is, given his behaviour towards his secretive past that seems to be on the hush hush. Making the narrative reel you in even deeper, especially when Smoking Hot steam comes into play. Which is made all the more sweeter and spicier knowing the temptation behind the forbiddance of it all has you yearning and craving it even more.

Honestly I really enjoyed Crave, and not only because I absolutely love Student/Teacher trope and am a sucker for it. But the fact that Piper proved it wasn’t going to be a simple and straight forward typical Forbidden Love story, given the adventure we ride through within this loopy rollercoaster. Especially with the twist that I did not see coming at all that lead to a cliffhanger. How could you not fall in love and consume Sawyer and Olivia’s story.

Piper Lawson definitely brought it all with the first part to Sawyer and Olivia’s story in Crave. Safe to say I cannot wait to see what happens next in Collide.
Also it should be said, if there was ever a Professor/Student book to read this is it!

*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Sexy and forbidden...just the way I like it! If you've read Piper Lawson's short story, Tempt Me, in the previously released Hot Summer School Nights Antholgy, then your lucky day is here.  Crave, book one in her new Off- Limits series, is going to shake up your world as it continues the sexy and forbidden story of Olivia and that mysterious man she met on the last night before classes begin again. Their hot encounter, in the last place you'd expect, was the first taste between them and they soon realized that all those intense, explosive feelings have hit a dead end...or have they?? The beautiful, sassy, midnight woman Sawyer was so intrigued by is now sitting in his classroom with her attentive ex boyfriend...what??? Crossing the line with her now could be a career killer and for Olivia, it might just be the public disgrace her snobby, awful parents would never get over.

If you are looking for a wildly sexy, taboo and steamy teacher/ student romance with a great story behind it, you have found it here.  What could be better than this dirty talking, risk taking man who's trying his best and failing to resist Olivia, but her intelligence, strength and beauty brings him to his knees. Sawyer becomes a gruff, protective supporter, encouraging her to shoot for the moon in life, despite her parents wish for her to become compliant arm candy, instead of the brilliant women she's meant to be.

This book has all the twists, turns and suspenseful 'what ifs' that you might expect from a Piper Lawson story. The big what if for me- could they ever find a way to be together, out in the open and free to love or is there something that Sawyer is holding back that could change everything?? All this and more is leading up to the rollercoaster ending that left me totally cliffhung and took my breath away! Oh my, how Piper Lawson can leave a girl hanging by a tenous, splitting thread!! Either way, it was a absolute pleasure reading and now reviewing this advanced copy of Crave...waiting for Olivia and Sawyer's next move in book 2, Collide. It's going to be sooo good!!

Crave
(Off Limits Series – Book 1)
Written by: Piper Lawson

I love a book that gives the reader lots to think about. Piper Lawson makes me think from page one.

Olivia Barclay comes from money, she wears it well but if you look at her friends her private thoughts, her outward gestures to her friends, she may not be what she projects to others. As we get to know Olivia we see who “she” is not who her family thinks she is and she is not who her ex-boyfriend thought she was. She’s 20 but as her layers peel back, she has experienced things in her life that make her seem older, more reliable, more open to learning and understanding things.

Sawyer Redmond, older but maybe not wiser! He’s in an “I have to fix this up” period of his life. Smart, very easy on the eye and he wears his clothes, they don’t wear him…if you get my drift. He is also standing in as a temporary Professor in the Engineering department of the school. Taking over for his father who recently passed away and its very obvious Sawyer is having a hard time with this whole situation.

Olivia and Sawyer don’t meet in a normal man – meet – woman, kind of way. Olivia steps in for a friend on amateur night at a strip club, the moment she steps on stage she is in control….you know when she dances she is has danced before and not on this kind of stage. This was the first time Sawyer laid eyes on her. The next time, the next morning as he addresses the new batch of students in his morning class. Where will this go?

One reason why I enjoy reading Piper Lawson’s books is she gives her characters flaws that can be found in real life. She gives her readers the chance to see them has whole and maybe not so whole people, what has brought them to this place this time and what has brought them together. With Olivia and Sawyer their feelings towards each other run deep. This is not a relationship that should be happening, yet you can envision the electricity that connects them, will they work or will everything explode? Crave gets 5 stars from me, I’m very much looking forward to reading Book 2 – Collide.

"First lesson, Cherry,"...
"Perfect is boring.Trouble taste better" 🥵 yes Professor Sawyer Redmond knows how to use his words and others things

I love how they first in a strip club. Straight away I loved both kf them together. Liv/ Olivia is a smart beautiful and a brilliant big sister. Because she wants to show her little sis she doesn't have to follow their parents demands. She is a heroine that young girls should follow and she is making her own way

Sawyer OMG I wish he was my professor. We only get a couple of Chapters of his POV I hope in Collide we get more. We have only just begun to learn to understand him. He does have a good heart and we see that with her and his friend Daniel & his son Andy. I hope Daniel & Andy get a story🤞 I am interested how Sawyer helped him and their friendship is so strong. Bromance haha and his little boy Andy adorable!! I want more scenes of him especially with Liv teaching dancing for kids...

The build up their relationship is perfect to me. Because they are slowly learning about each other and peeling each others layers. Now they have it that point in the relationship now and this is when I cried with frustration (in a good way) !!

THE CLIFFHANGER
1st Is it true what happened in New York?
2nd what's that sneaky bitch going to do next...
No spoilers. If you want to know why am asking these questions, you have to read the book. Its on sale for 99c or £0.77

Different and I loved it!

Olivia has been spoiled by her parents, but she comes across as a good balanced personality. She has been betrayed by her boyfriend Adam who she went to Russell University to be with.

On a night out with friends she spots Adam with another woman just to rub in the hurt further. On the other hand she spots a very handsome guy who she can't take her eyes off. Even when her friend tricks her to entering a dancing contest she still can't take her eyes off the handsome guy across the bar.

Of course it couldn't just be that she meets someone new and all is rosy, there have to be complications. Those complications just seem to get deeper as the story goes on. However, the twist at the end is something else!

Great start to a new series!

Update: this book now has a different better ending to the first read! Still a cliffhanger though 😁

The sex? So hot
The prof/student? Hot
Olivia's parents living in the 19th century? Unbelievably asinine. Apparently in 2021, an engineering degree isn't good enough for their daughter? Would you prefer Home-Ec, Mr &Mrs Barclay? OK asshats.
The fact that the author doesn't understand how homecoming works (basketball? In the fall? Oh fuck off) or how NYC is laid out (you try driving from Lincoln Center to Coney Island in 20 minutes EVER [I just double checked, IT'S 22 MILES]) or how midtown hotels are (balconies? Are you insane?)??? Fucking stupid 😂
And don't get me started on after hours public sex in the oldest aquarium in the US with just a wink and back slap. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
WTF lol I realize my knocks against this book have nothing to do with the premise, but it takes me out of the story.

Book in the new Off Limits series by Piper Lawson. This forbidden romance between Olivia and Sawyer was so much fun to start. Olivia is dared to dance at a strip club and she meets a man that sets her skin on fire. She didn’t think that she would see him again until she went into class and he was there and her professor. The chemistry between Olivia and Sawyer was so intense. Loved watching the start of their relationship and the consequences that could arise from them being in this relationship. Be prepared for the cliffhanger but the next book will be out soon and I am ready for it.

WOWIE !!!....I LOVED THIS BOOK..
Piper Lawson has done it yet again and created another addictive story that I completely devoured.
Sawyer and Olivia are EXPLOSIVE !!
The banter between them is top notch,it is playful, sexy and perfect.
Their chemistry sizzles on the pages as the spark between them just gets bigger and bigger.
Their first encounter is noticing one another from across the bar.
Their second encounter in the parking lot of the club, were something ignites between them.
Their third encounter becomes a shock to them both, because it is at the university were Olivia discovers the sexy man she met the night before is her new Professor,Sawyer Redmond.
It is a surprise to Sawyer also that Olivia is now his student and he knows he should stay away, but we don't always do what we should.
OMG if I had a professor Like Sawyer I would be the most attentive student ever...he is alluring, seductive and so so tempting.
This forbidden relationship is all consuming and I could not get enough.
Piper Lawson's writing is on point,I never think I could love her writing anymore and then she goes and writes a story like Crave.Which has me certainly craving more because OH MY GOODNESS that ending....I NEED MORE.
I cannot wait for book two I need to know what will happen to Olivia and Sawyer.
This is a compulsive read filled with passion, emotion and sexiness.I enjoyed myself immensely reading CRAVE,its an exceptional book.
I highly recommend this story,Loved it to pieces.

This ending..... I get that you want to make more money and write a sequel, but there's no need for a student-teacher romance book to have a part two. The way this ended doesn't make any sense. It literally ends in the middle of a scene. Pissed me off.

(audiobook+ebook) Is it hot in here, or what? I didn’t see a lot of feelings though. Attraction, interest, lust, yes. Love, not really. Especially dubious after that last revelation.

Olivia is full of contradictions. She’s supposed to be real smart, but she makes a couple of questionable decisions that jeopardize everything. She’s also supposed to be privileged, but aside from a handful of boot-lickings she receives, it seems to me it’s mostly jealousy talking. We–and Olivia too–learn informations in this book that show it’s way more complicated. Controlling parents, cheating boyfriend, forgotten dreams, and a few disorders. Not exactly the rainbows and sunshine her classmates imagine.

Sawyer is a difficult character to get. He claims he’s a bad boy and that he loves trouble. But he had a difficult childhood–or so he says–and wants to help other kids in his situation. Great initiative. He’s also a teacher, so he shouldn’t fraternize with his students. He knows it, yet he does the exact opposite. That’s more like a bad boy. But he encourages and supports Olivia. While basically endangering her relationship with her family and risking her career. Sure, he was hot, especially when he loses control because of Olivia, but I didn’t know what else to think of him.

I guess the title says it all: they lust after each other, a craving they can’t control. Or do they crave the danger they put themselves into because their life is a little too tame? Even Sawyer’s: he’s had to keep his nose clean for too long, probably. And they are very compatible. It’s a steamy read. Heart of a star hot.

Family is an important topic in this story. They both have different experiences, yet neither are good ones. Between the parental pressure, the importance of appearances, the denial of the children’s personality, it’s an abuse fest in a way. Maybe Sawyer’s experience, since he’s older, makes him want to help Olivia, and their connection through Sawyer’s adoptive father influences their relationship. But clearly, they are who they are because of their upbringing.

The book is mostly told through Olivia’s point of view. Thankfully, the female narrator is extremely talented and she does a great job with Olivia. The male narrator is pretty good too, but he only does a few chapters. But it’s a very good audiobook anyway, and with that cliffhanger, I can’t wait to listen to the next book.

Quickie

- Series: Off-limits #1 (ends on a cliffhanger, first book in a trilogy about the same couple)
- Hashtags: #college romance #forbidden romance #student #teacher #age gap
- Triggers: parental abuse, cheating, mild bullying
- Main couple: Olivia Barclay & Sawyer Redmond
- Hotness: 4/5
- Romance: 2/5
- + I loved how Sawyer helped Olivia taking control of her life
- – communication, people! secrets are dangerous

Nothing makes my heart beat loudly and fill it with all the intense feels like a forbidden romance. And Piper Lawson nailed it in Crave. Crave, a taboo professor- student romance was high on steam and feels. The tension. The twisted thrill. The deep emotions. Piper Lawson made me fall in love with the brooding alpha professor and his sweet sassy student.
.
Olivia Bercley comes from an affluent family but her family was short of affection. She followed her boyfriend Quarterback Adams to Russell University and got Engineering as her major but she soon finds out that their relationship is useless. And she briefly meets a man in a bar who was everything she wanted. Strong. Powerful presence. Enigmatic. But little did she know that this man is none other than Sawyer Redmond. The billionaire genius who has temporarily taken the role of teaching Engineering at the university after sudden death of his father. Sawyer is dark, closed off and OFF LIMITS but their attraction is a living breathing thing.
.
Sawyer melts my heart ( and panties). He has this air of cool confidence bordering on arrogance that is my poison. He is cold and edgy and has so many walls but when Olivia tears them down, the beast comes out with his pain and vulnerability and that Sawyer is even more enticing. Everyone looks at Olivia like she is a spoiled rich princess (even Sawyer thought so initially) but she is a feisty and sweet girl. With so much determination, stubbornness and some naughtiness. She is tired of being controlled by her family and taken as granted by her boyfriend. She wants to prove herself and Sawyer ignites that reckless fire in her. They connect at a very intimate level. Their chemistry is so filthy and deviant as they push each other's boundaries. Sawyer doesn't want complications and he knows his past will hurt Olivia and ruin her. But he is helpless as Olivia makes him feel whole and happy. Like he makes Olivia possessed and desired and dominated in a different way. The emotions were strong and that heartbreaking cliffhanger was too much. Secrets are coming out. Will they survive?
.
In Crave , Piper Lawson has expertly portrayed the desperation of wanting something so wrong yet so perfect and so necessary. The exquisite combination of angsty, seductive and emotional.

This book is just the beginning of Olivia and Sawyer's story and what a story it is shaping up to be! I know that I can count on this author for complex characters, intense emotions, steamy desire, heart tugging angst, edge of your seat drama and stunning twists and this book delivers all that with a tempting side of the forbidden. I really liked these two, even if I found myself desperately wanting to shake them and ask them "Why?" and "What are you thinking?", over the course of the book. I love them together though, and gosh when that cliffy hit, my heart dropped. I can't wait for book two so that I can find out what happens next. I'm hooked and left craving more. This is my independent and impartial review.

Intense first part
The title is perfect because it transcribes the state of the characters as well as the one in which I was reading this first part, that is to say, also wanting to know what is going to happen and what they will do.
The characters of Sawyer, the professor and Olivia the student plagued by doubts about her ex who was cheating on her, her parents who put social pressure on her, her comrades for an engineering project while, apart from the latter and Sawyer, everyone is waiting from her to be beautiful and to be silent.
The story is very well written, intense by the rise of the forbidden relationship, but I hadn't seen that there were 2 parts and suddenly the title becomes even better chosen with the cliffhanger.

Piper Lawson gives us an intriguing, tension-filled beginning to this illicit student teacher romance. There's a lot going on with both of our characters, so much more than their forbidden connection- secrets, complicated pasts, heartbreak, and uncertainty all bubble under the surface. Just when we get to the good stuff, and after some tension filled steam, we're hit with a huge surprise that calls everything into question and a HUGE cliffy that has me desperate for book 2.

What do you do when you find out the stranger you made out with in a strip club parking lot is actually your Professor? Stay away from him right? That’s what Liv tries to do. Really really tries…But Sawyer has this swagger about him, intelligence her ex even could comprehend. There’s this mystery between the two and neither can seem to fight the pull they have towards each. After failed attempts and close calls, they both give into that pull. Sawyer and Liv are the most frustrating characters, but frustrating in the good way. They’ll make you root for them even if it’s an apple from the forbidden tree. Sawyer has some secrets and Liv has to learn to make up her own mind up whether it pleases her family or not….With this first installment of Liv and Sawyer, you’ll find yourself wanting them to be together, even if it’s destine to to destroy everything and everyone around them.

I absolutely LOVED this book! This is, hands down, THE BEST professor/student romance I have EVER read! Piper Lawson is such a talented writer and storyteller! Besides The Rivals series, since I'm seriously obsessed with Tyler and Annie, this is my all-time favorite book of Piper's!

This book had jealousy, angst and drama all rolled into a deliciously forbidden tale. Sawyer and Olivia were everything! And that cliffhanger? Gah, I CAN'T WAIT for Collide! I can't recommend this one highly enough! More than five stars!

Sawyer draws you in….. he makes you want to be reckless like him, whilst staring at his body for hours….

Olivia makes you want to fight for her. To help her be heard…. You want to cheer for her… no poor little rich girl… she is a fighter, has a strength others don’t know she possesses, and Sawyer brings it out in her.

They are my new favourite couple…. I can’t wait to meet them again in Collide …

Omg 😍 I love ❤️ a good age difference book 📖 and this dosent disappoint at all ....it had me hooked from first couple pages ......Olivia is a strong independent young woman who fulls for the gorgeous Sawyer who happens to be her professor 👨‍🏫 after being with Adam her cheating rich spoiled boyfriend she realises that she dosent love or want him anymore after witnessing him with her own eyes she decided enough is enough and ends things .....Over walks the sexy man who is dreamy ,sexy, older ,mysterious and just dam fine ....then boom 💥 they realise that they shouldn’t , touch but can’t help it the chemistry, connection between them there is a force that just pulls them together and boy do they combust ......it is freaking hot 🥵 hot 🥵 hot 🥵 🔥🔥🔥 and I love ❤️ how things developed and can not wait for book 📖 2 🤪🥰😍👏🏼

I like the premise of the story - professor and student - taboo and forbidden which are two of my favorite tropes!
