After Perfect,i decided to go back to the start and read more from there.
Elite is the first book, and it gives the background of what goes on in this Washington.
The politics,the intriges,and the socialites.
Christiana lives in this Washington,or should i say exists.
She’s the daughter of reporter Peter Snow, and even though she’s only 19,she has been taking care of him for too long….
The only “friend” she has is Avery Churchill, daughter of Coco and Judge Churchill.
Avery isn’t really a friend, that much is clear pretty quick.
She bullies her into doing things she doesn’t want, and mostly turn out to Avery’s benefit.
Until Jonathan Brond,a 30 year old congressman with a taste for kink.
When they meet,he is intrigued and wants to get to know Christiana.
Avery has her own agenda, though….and that involves getting up close and personal with him.
Christiana and Jonathan meet twice more, and he convinces her to go to dinner with him.
In this restaurant, away from Washington,he shares his intentions and gives her time to think about his proposal.
Since Chris is attracted to him and wants to experience what he offers, she accepts.
He dóes however stress this has to remain a secret, for both their sakes.
Before they start their arrangement,he makes sure his charge Yvette deCord, who’s going through a nasty divorce,is in good hands.
Their arrangement soon consumes both, but still they manage to keep it quiet.
Chris has secrets Jonathan wants to know, but that requires trust…
In order to get her to submit fully,to trust him,he needs to push her.
Once he hears what they are,he knows he can’t step aside once their time is up.
Because he cares about her,and faced with a choice between Chris and congress,he knows what his choice will be…
In the meantime, someone’s been following Jonathan, and he needs to find out who,and why.
But then he’s shot……
Was it the person that followed him,or is there something else going on?
Will he survive, and will he allow Chris to come near him, ever again if that puts her in danger, too?
Even though it took me a bit to get into this one, once i did i enjoyed the story.
The struggles of both their lives, the support they found with eachother, that was beautiful.
The added bit of suspense was just enough.
The only thing i had a problem with, was the sudden change in Yvette….
From a needy sub to a confident woman in such a short period was hard to believe.
