Dark Covenant: How the Masses are Being Groomed to Embrace the Unthinkable While the Leaders of Organized Religion Make A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL

Rate this book
Pandemic. Shutdowns. Riots. Political unrest. Vaccinations. The Mark of the Beast.
The sleeping Church .
How are all these things connected?
The modern world has seen unparalleled challenges, circumstances, and travesties. Between the global pandemic of COVID-19, ensuing shutdowns, riots, economic strains, unprecedented political upset, and even cosmic disturbances and natural disasters, some with a biblical worldview cite prophetic implications as the source of current difficulties, while others stated that 2020 was a uniquely difficult year.
However, are greater strands at work beneath the surface of the population’s difficulty? Are these hardships all components within a larger, satanic plot? If so, surely the Church will identify this malevolence and intervene on behalf of humanity, right?
Won’t they?

AN ESCHATOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE ON COVID SHUTDOWNS, AND OTHER EVENTS

Authors Donna Howell and Allie Henson wrote in the first chapter of this 2021 book, “We live in a society filled with evil. The master puppeteers are already at work in manipulating society to embrace Antichrist and usher in end-time events. Many people will placidly acknowledge this, but unfortunately they’re often spread too thin because of daily obligations; they’re politically disenchanted and exhausted (thus feel powerless); or they’re so busy trying to survive their own circumstances that studying the large-scale shape of the culture around them is an indulgence they don’t have the time or the energy for. Worse, it’s easy for many to relinquish the obligation of contributing to cultural changes to a church that APPEARS to stand at the ready, but that is so ‘asleep’ that it has become ineffective. As the evil that seeks to devour all of mankind pushes its final pieces into place, the fruitless modern church congratulates itself on having all the answers, while a lost and dying population hangs in the balance… the sad truth is that many of those who have gone astray are attendees of the local church who once PROMISED that they would make a difference when this terrible day came upon us. The world is in trouble, the world needs a Savior, and the Church needs to wake up.”

They outline, “Based on what’s described in apocalyptic Scripture, the Christian Church during the End Times will be split into two groups: `1. The Apostate Superchurch, which will be found guilty of twisting the Word of God with counterfeit scriptural interpretation that amounts to the ultimate blasphemy. This cult… will be a global super-religion combining key aspects of all faiths into one---including Christianity… 2, The Remnant Church, made up of Christian disciples who are well-versed in the Bible to recognize Antichrist as the imitation he is. This group will be persecuted and driven underground or into hiding, and many of its members will be mercifully executed.” (Pg. 31)

They observe, “it’s already a miracle that the Remnant Church still exists at the time of this writing, let alone will be flourishing underground when the Apostate Superchurch is flaunting itself topside, in bed with the One-World Government, solving every malady of the human condition, unsuspectingly worshiping its satanic leader and praising his pet statue (Rev 13:3-4, 15).” (Pg. 36)

They explain, “What you are about to read in the coming pages has not yet been written in any previously published work, for who in their right minds would call the Christian Church a cult?... Both of us… were involve in our own writing projects when, in a fortuitous conversation over breakfast at a local diner… we revealed to each other details of what we were working on, only to discover we were both being obedient to a calling on the same book… there was NO stopping the force of the epiphany that drove us to write this book, with the hope that the warning we feel compelled to issue may hit for the Remnant before the atrocity does… we believe without hesitation that his work contains an urgent message that God has spoken to each of us… Not only do we predict that the Church will be persecuted, but we believe … that she will actually assist in reinforcing the enemy’s eschatological plan… it will increase in the near future to pave the way for Jesus’ prophecy of the greatest earthly deception as foretold in Revelation.” (Pg. 51-52)

They note, “the advancements and accomplishments featured in many sci-fi movies are evident in our daily practices already. We’ve already established that activities such as harvesting fetal tissue aren’t efforts we seem to ethically oppose. We’ve tolerated and even embraced being surveilled and having our location monitored for years now. Euthanasia is already legally occurring in some places of the world, while the US becomes increasingly open-minded about it… who can say that we won’t embrace even worse monstrosities?” (Pg. 86)

They suggest, “to say that a certain group, because of anyone stated belief, should be viewed as a national threat could lead to responsive legislation… If this were to happen, Christians will be among the first to have their freedom of speech limited… Perhaps a bigger enemy is at work, one whose entire objective is to foster such a string of events via distraction… some may say … the destruction our country has undergone demands that people take a stand and call terrorism what it is. But, this has the potential to backfire grotesquely. If our government were to begin assigning terms like ‘domestic terrorism’ in this way, all it would take would be a few strategically placed ‘radicals’ or a manipulated ‘trigger event’ to begin to illegalize Christianity. Think it’s not possible? Many organizations that embrace traditional values are already being labeled as ‘hate groups,’ and many biblical statements have already been pointed to as ‘hate speech. Further terrible things have been done by people who proclaim to be Christian. If we allow the government extensive freedom to interchange groups, statements, and actions, the Church would find itself in the bull’s eye.” (Pg. 138-139)

They point out, “The Christian faith suffered an additional attack during the shutdowns of COVID-19 during 2020; the circumstances reveal a certain measure of where our rights to gather … may be headed. Across the nation, the only exceptions to mandated closures were businesses and facilities deemed ‘essential.’ The list of exemptions did not include churches, but it did include grocery and convenience stores, liquor stores, marijuana dispensaries…” (Pg. 142-143)

They note, “many of our young people have spent SEVERAL MONTHS alone with their video games during the pandemic lockdowns and school closures… With online sites offering what many passively acknowledge as ‘fake news,’ these young people are also potentially struggling with their grasp of reality… MUCH of our younger generation spent the bulk of 2020 afraid, alone, interacting more with media than with people… and wondering if life would ever ‘be okay’ again.” (Pg. 156-157)

They recount, “the Automatic BOOST to Communities Act proposed by Congress during the COVID-19 economic upheaval… proposed to send… prepaid debit cards… to every person… in America… individuals would soon … blend their other finances into the account … with this card, centralizing the location from which all their funds are managed… What if the ‘card’ were ever mandatorily replaced with a microchip implanted in our bodies… as foretold in Revelation 13:17…” (Pg. 196-197)

They argue, “With COVID-19… many Christians have been afraid that they will somehow be tricked or forced into taking this or a similar vaccine, only to later learn that they have taken the Mark of the Beast… allow us to say that we don’t believe that the vaccine developed to protect recipients from the coronavirus is that… If the Mark indeed involves an injection, those who receive it… will be required to make some sort of denouncement of prior loyalties (especially for those who state their allegiance is to God)… Accepting the Mark of the Beast will be an intentional act…” (Pg. 205-206) Later, they add, “When the populace is without the restraining force and a crisis or event prevents citizens with the choice of whether or not to accept the Mark, we Christians will be the first group to be fingered as a public enemy. When we refuse the mandate, we will be prioritized as a type of resistance force: a public enemy… At this point, if it hasn’t already happened, the Church will split…” (Pg. 221-222)

Turning to mass media, they deplore “the distortion of Christianity into a cultic installation of sadistic abusers … There is no way the Church would have been painted in this light… just a few decades ago… Countless others portray us Christians in an awful light---as crazed cult leaders … and at the very least, bumbling dimwits… This is… in addition to the overnight, bold progression of outright blasphemy across the board that depicts Christianity as largely undeserving of any respect whatsoever… how can we expect … to reach the lost… who are currently sharing a laugh at our expense?” (Pg. 245-246)

Of Pope Francis’ encyclical, ‘Brothers All,’ they comment, “If you think this ‘final pope’ is going to save us from the Antichrist… he’s not. Everything he says appears to be in support of the whole idea. His letter is remarkably persuasive regarding the benefits of bringing the world together. He weaves so much Christ-resembling love and beauty into his end goal that it’s nearly impossible for the untrained Christian eye to see now ANTI-Christ it really is.” (Pg. 267)

They also criticize what they call ‘The Charisma Revival,’ which “stands as a GREAT example of what can happen when the Church forsakes her True Love (Jesus) and goes in her own direction to feel emotional phenomena… worship gets INSANE, the lost remain lost… and Christians… eventually give up and leave the Church… In our opinions, these were pastors’ efforts to try to ‘fix’ the apathy of their home congregations because they weren’t willing to do the work it would take to see a true revival of interest in following Christ.” (Pg. 297-299)

They summarize, “If ‘Post-Christian’ means the split between the Remnant and the Superchurch, these authors are at peace with that reformation, allowing the Remnant to become ‘post-whatever-that-is.’ We shouldn’t fear the split!” (Pg. 313)

Many Evangelicals interested in end-times prophecy will enjoy this provocative interpretation.

An overview of the things that are taking place in the world today and how they indicate that we may be closing in on, or even living through, The Great Delusion prophesied in Scripture. Contains many details and instances of complete apostasy in churches and the heresy being embraced by secular culture. As someone who does not watch regular TV or streaming TV, but much prefer classic television and news programs, I was astonished at how despicable many of the current television shows are and particularly the outrageous terms and speech used against God and the despicable insinuations some of these shows use regarding Jesus. We are at the edge of destruction in many ways and unless we make some drastic changes and draw a line in the sand, there will be no hope for America. Four stars because I thought the final chapter was more of a personal choice for the authors and feel that rather than preparing for the decline of Christianity, which I agree does look possible, there should be more encouragement for Christians to speak up, set standards for their churches and refuse to embrace any of the new "woke" nonsense that is happening. Of course, if Christianity becomes outlawed, most of us are already aware we may need to return to home churches, but it should not happen sooner than necessary. There is power in numbers and it's better to vote with your feet and leave churches that are apostasized or throw those who are a part of wanting to change churches out the door before we resign ourselves to the death of Christian churches. It isn't wrong for Christians to fight disorder because God tells us He is not the God of chaos. Work as hard as possible to save these institutions and always read and study the Bible on your own or with others in your home. Do not be a quiet Christian. This is for everything.

The basic premiss stated in the subtitle is good. But the examples given are weak and the ties to Satan are almost hidden by the lack of commonality. The authors are partially "awake" but only faintly aware of the vicious war again the family, church, education, and freedom of worship.
Yes Satan is ascendent; but this book largely misses the mark. I would not recommend it for searching out the truth or for a deeper understanding of the Christian Church’s role in the coming battles.

If church is just where you go on Sundays before IHOP or the football game, this book is not for you. But if you've ever been grieved in your spirit by stage show worship and prayerless pastors in shirt tails and jeans trying to be relevant, this book will encourage you to walk closer to the Lord in prayer and keep the wor$hiptainment enterpri$e that calls itself a church at arm's length.
