Space Jam: A New Legacy is an adaptation of the movie. Wikipedia's describes the premise of the movie as follow:
If you enjoyed the Looney Tunes growing up or your family still enjoys them to this day, then you need to add this one to your bookshelf. It's a tale of friendship, supporting your loved one's dreams and love.
Notes on the Illustrations:
Illustrating iconic figures such as LeBron James and Don Cheadle I assume has to be an unnerving task for illustrators because at the back of their minds they know the reader will be scrolling through one page after the other thinking: "they nailed him here, no this ain't him."
Dave Alvarez, Marcelo Di Chiara, Walter Carzon, and Tom Derenick really did a great job on the illustrations throughout the book. In all the closeups the characters resembled the real LeBron James, Don Cheadle, Cedric Joe, and every other character illustrated from a real person. The details on every illustration are just amazing.
I do not have anything else to add so: That's all folks!!!

Space Jam: A New Legacy by Ivan Cohen is the graphic novel adaptation to the 2021 live-action/animated sports comedy film. I have yet to see the film and having read this adaptation, I am not too sure if I even want to...at least not anytime soon. The storyline within the comic felt vague and a bit too rushed for me. This is a bit ironic since I prefer it when books get straight to the point/or plot. However, with this case, I found myself lost and needing a bit more information.
From what I can tell, the graphic novel is neither a sequel nor is it considered to be a spin-off. It's a whole new story set in a more contemporary time. I don't want to give away too much, but to briefly summarize: It follows basketball champion and global icon, LeBron James and his young son Dom. A rogue A.I. downloaded the father-son duo into his digital space. Now, LeBron alongside timeless Tune Bugs Bunny must assemble a team to take on the A.I's powered-up roster of basketball stars on the court.
Overall I did enjoy reading the book...more so, for the nostalgia. The illustrations are stunning and so vivid, I had no trouble recognizing the fictional version of Lebron James and Don Cheadle. Growing up, I enjoyed watching Looney Tunes, and the Michael Jordan/Bugs Bunny classic "Space Jam" was an absolute favorite especially with songs like "I Believe I Can Fly" and "Fly Like an Eagle." So, it's nice to see some of my favorite Tunes again as an adult. This book explores the bond between father and son, of friendship, and what it ultimately means to be yourself. I highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of basketball, video games, and Looney Tunes.

If you're reading this book, you probably already saw the movie. It doesn't matter if you read the book first then watch the movie or vice versa.
The Comic was good except for they changed the ending. I feel it should of have the same ending as the movie because it was an emotional moment. The book lost that moment when it removed it.
Al G. Rhythm is The Warner Bros Algorithm, and he is stuck in the Serververse and no one even knows he exist. To change his unknown fate, he uses law 13 in the 48 laws of power by appealing to LeBron's James Self-Interest.
This quickly fails as Lebron thinks joining Warner is a dumb idea and Al G. Rhythm gets angry and traps Lebron and his son Dom into the digital world and challenges him to a basketball game.
Al G. Rhythm uses law 44 in the 48 laws of power to make believe he shares Dom beliefs and values to get him to be on his side of the team.
Lebron James and his team with bugs bunny and the Tune Squad are struggling to score points and are losing miserably. It's not until the tune squad makes Lebron James realize law 41 in the 48 laws of power: No one can step into your shoes and be like you. Everyone must shine in their own way.
Lola Bunny tells Lebron, "You've been trying to get these guys to play like you, but no one can do that. It's time to let the Tune Squad do what they're good at."
Lebron responds with, "I guess I've gotta let you do you. Looney all the way."
and that's it because I don't want to spoil the rest of the story.
My favorite quote from the book is
"You got to see every adversity as part of the process. If you're passionate about something, pushing through adversity is how you become great." Lebron James
"A warrior is not judged on her skills, but by her values." Wonder Woman

I loved the illustrations in this graphic adaptation!!! It really fit with the movie and I could tell who was who. However, this book was different than the movie. I wish it followed the storyline more accurately.
