Men of Haven #3

Claim & Protect

Rate this book
Live hard, f*ck harder and follow only their own rules. Those are the cornerstones the six men of the Haven Brotherhood live and bleed by, refusing to conform to society's expectations, taking what they want and always watching each other's backs.

Trevor Raines lives on the edge of legal. A good guy doing bad things to save lives, the only rules he follows are the Brotherhood's, and there's nothing in the world that will change that. Until Natalie Jordan walks into his life…

Natalie's only interest is in making a fresh start. She's a woman with a plan, and the plan doesn't include a man with secrets, no matter how kind—or intoxicating—he is. But this cowboy is determined to break down her walls, keep her safe and make her his.

Trevor had no interest in settling down, but there's something entirely too appealing about this woman he can't stay away from. There's only one thing to do—change his plans…and hers. When Natalie's ex resurfaces to threaten her new life, Trevor will move heaven and earth to make sure the bastard can't hurt her again. Except saving Natalie means outing his own secrets—and it could mean losing her forever…

Haven Brotherhood Rhenna Morgan:

Claim and Protect is book three in the Haven Brotherhood series by Rhenna Morgan. It’s a well known fact that I have a gigantic love for any book involving a sexy cowboy, the sexier the better. And, if they call their woman “darlin’ then I’m completely lost. In this book, you will meet Trevor Raines. He owns a ranch and has punched every one of my cowboy buttons. But at the same time, he is a pub owner, a brother, and every bit dominant alpha male that you can handle. Hands off ladies, he’s mine!

Trevor:

Trevor owns The Den, a bar in Dallas’s Deep Ellum district. Trevor has a past, one he’s not proud of, but when the brother’s found him, he grew up and made himself into a man he could be proud of. The place Trevor calls home is his ranch. He has people to run it for him when he can’t be there but it’s the place that he most loves to be, with his horses and his border collie. Trevor has strict rules for the employees at his bar, one of which is no cell phones while working. So, when he sees his new hire keep sneaking in texts, he knows he needs to deal with it. He hasn’t had her on long and he feels an odd protectiveness towards her. When he learns of the reason she is on her phone, he decides to follow her home to make sure she got home safely. The next move he made is what changed everything.

Natalie Jordan had never been a cocktail waitress before but her new boss took a chance on her and she is determined not to let him down. But on this night, she has to deal with this situation. Natalie’s ex-husband has made it his life’s work to make her existence intolerable. And he’s doing a fine job of it, especially on this night. Natalie has a seven year old son at home, Levi, with her mother and Natalie is their sole supporter. Unfortunately, Levi is caught in the middle between his parents. Natalie’s ex is using him as a pawn to get what he wants, and what he wants isn’t Levi at all, but Natalie.

Natalie has been smitten with Trevor from day one but was determined to remain professional. She needed this job too much. But when Trevor decided to help her out with her situation, their relationship quickly changed. It didn’t take long for the chemistry to get the best of them.

“He’d been wrong. Natalie Jordan wasn’t born for sex. She was born for him.”

kissing on horse back:

Natalie is determined to stay on track with her plan for her future and that future doesn’t include a new relationship. And Trevor doesn’t feel like he could ever be good enough for someone like Natalie. They both are in complete denial of their feelings.

sexy

Let me tell you about little seven year old Levi. I fell in love with this boy. He has been through so much, seen so much. And the way he has to endure his father broke my heart. But this little boy was strong and resilient. He has a heart as big as Texas. And he has some huge hero worship for Trevor.

Trevor wasn’t only falling for Natalie but for Levi as well. He never thought of himself as father material. But that little boy had worked himself into Trevor’s heart and soul and there wasn’t a thing he could do about it.

anything everything:

Trevor and Natalie’s chemistry was off the charts hot. What started out as being ’light and easy’ quickly escalated into more. But as their relationship progressed, so did the efforts of her ex-husband. If I have ever hated a character, it would be him. This man was awful. Trevor with the help of his brothers, vows to find a way to get him out of Natalie’s life so she can finally be free of him.

https://www.facebook.com/messages/rhennamorganwriter:

I think I fall in love with this series more with every book. I loved Trevor with all my heart. And the epilogue, there are no words. My eyes watered. Rhenna has again hit the ball out of the park with this book. I couldn’t put it down. It was steamy and sweet and everything in between. The next book will be Knox and Darya’s story, Tempted & Taken, and it can’t get here fast enough. I am loving watching these brothers who think of themselves as eternal bachelors, fall in love, one at a time. You know what they say, the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

“This was the stuff of legend. The kind of passion few women ever found but every one of them craved.
And it was hers.
His.
Theirs.”

****4.5 Stars!****

This is book #3 of the “Haven brothers “ series and it features Trevor... the sexy cowboy!!! I adored Trevor and also his woman and her son!!! This whole book made me weak in the knees, and also had my heart melting more than once!

I have to say that this series just keeps getting better and better for me! I’m so glad I took a chance on it! I have to mention that the sex in this one was H.O.T! My goodness Trevor has the moves!!! There is one scene in this instalment that had me riveted to the pages! This is a book I would gladly reread again and again!

Review @ Vanilla & Spice Books

Trevor is a fair employer. He has a small number of rules at his bar he expects his staff to follow. One of them is a no-cellphone rule during work. Unfortunately his newest addition doesn't seem to have gotten the memo - she uses her phone while working her shift at The Den. Before canning her he needs to find out what it is that has her risking her job.

Natalie's ex-husband is terrorizing her family which consists of her son and her mother watching him. When her boss finds her on the phone while she is trying to calm down her mom she has no choice but to tell Trevor about the troubles Nat is in. Trevor being the amazing guy that he is sends her home to take care of her family. Unbeknownst to her he follows her and gets there in time witnessing the jerk ex threatening Natalie.

Trevor has a history with domestic violence. His mother died from being beat to death by her dad so it takes everything in him to reign in his volatile temperament. He poses as Nat's boyfriend and accomplishes that the ex leaves for the night. But he will be back, Trevor is sure of it, so a long-term plan needs to be set in motion...

Hell no, he wasn't okay. He wanted to physically punish Wyatt Jordan in a way he'd never forget. Wanted to fuck his entire world up the way he'd upended Natalie and Levi's.

Trevor was a super possessive guy with a troubled past. It's a known and successful formula by Rhenna Morgan. I love this kind of hero but would have liked to get a different feel about him than I had with Jace and Zeke. If you compare them they are all very similar and I wanted to see a bit of a different personality. Nevertheless, Trevor was a likable, sensual typically charming southern guy with a dirty mouth and impeccable manners.

"Anything. Everything. Always."

Natalie was a tad too bland for my taste. While she put up a fight when her ex bullied her she just was a bit too tame. And I definitely wasn't a fan of how she treated Trevor in the end.
She was determined to give her son a better life and to overcome the repercussion of her bad choices in the past. I did love the way she and Trevor were with Levi. I just couldn't muster the enthusiasm I had for Vivienne.

I found to be the first 70% of this story to be much slower than the first two books in this series. The plot didn't take off the way the others did for me. It was lacking the drive I'm used to. The last 30% were perfect in terms of pace and we got the suspense and action I love when it comes to this author. I really loved that part of the book.

"You ready for more than just light and easy between us?"

As always the dynamics of the brothers are my favorite thing in this series. Their easy banter, the loyalty, their obvious love for one another and how they have each other's back.

While this installment might not have been my favorite in this series it was still a solid book. Also, as always, please take my review with a grain of salt. It IS highly subjective and you might totally fall in love with Trevor and Natalie. I am definitely going to read Knox' story - I love a nerdy hero and can't wait to see what Rhenna Morgan comes up with for him.

Claim & Protect is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.

3.5 Cute!

If you're expecting a hot, badass MC book, this isn't it. Even though Trevor belongs to an MC, the focus isn't on that, but rather on their love story and all.

It's really cute and fun, like a good, cold ice-cream on a hot day. Really worth the read, the characters are entertaining and lovable, they're good for each other. They even have that chemistry more romance books lack.

Still, it's one of those pretty forgettable reads, nothing really stands out.

Worth reading though!

Theirs is a relationship built on honor, trust and protecting those who need it, no matter how hard they ride that fine line between legal and illegal. They are the Haven Brotherhood and they will go to the mats for each other, the ones they love and those who were one like them, defenseless.

Secrets. Trevor knows all about them and he holds them close to the vest until he meets the woman who will shred his walls into tiny ribbons and makes him want to settle down and belong to someone who wants all he has to offer, good or bad.

Natalie is a woman on the run from an abusive ex. She will do anything to keep her child safe and Trevor is determined that he will prove she is not alone and will never be alone again. To do so may cost him his innermost secrets, but not to do anything is something he can never live with. Will his heart of gold be bright enough to outshine his tarnished life in the eyes of Natalie? Will Trevor save her from her past only to lose her to his?

Bar owner and ranching cowboy, Trevor has rules, strict rules that apply to his bar and new employee, feisty little Natalie is breaking them faster than a stack of bar glasses dropped from a two-story building. So why is he willing to bend those rules for Natalie? What are these protective instincts he has for her? Can he sense the danger she is in or the brave front she keeps to protect something more precious than platinum?

Whatever it is, prepare for your ultimate weak-kneed moment as Rhenna Morgan sets the pages on fire with CLAIM & PROTECT and Trevor struts off the pages and into “every woman’s” dreams. Three cheers for feisty and tough Natalie, no shrinking violet, but in over her head when it comes to out running her past. Feel the tension, the humor and the subtle bond that forms between a man who will stop at nothing to do the right thing and a woman who thought she could never stop running.

Once again, Rhenna Morgan brings romance to life as the Haven Brotherhood goes where no one else dares to tread. Forget the Knights in Shining Armor, the Haven Brotherhood proves a little tarnish is HOT!

By far this is my favorite book in this series and I've really enjoyed the rest. I flat out loved Trevor's and Natalie's story. Trevor is a swoon worthy with Natalie, her son and the rest of the Haven crew making it the perfect icing to an already delicious cake. I couldn't help myself, I just gobbled it up.

There are only a few brothers left and I can't wait for each and every one of their stories, My hope, Morgan adds those prospective brothers that are in the works so we get more of this Haven Brotherhood family.

I received this ARC copy of Claim & Protect from Carina Press. This is my honest and voluntary review. Claim & Protect is set for publication June 1, 2017.

Claim & Protect is the third book in "The Haven Brotherhood" series.

I gave the first book a solid 4 stars; the second one 3,75 stars rounded up to 4. This one is unfortunately between 3 - 3,5 stars for me but it doesn't mean that the book is not as good as the first two - it just means it wasn't my jam.

*********************************************

I didn't know what I was doing when I first started to write reviews but now I am being careful about giving my reasons why I like or dislike a book because I have seen that one's dislike may very well be another one's reason to pick up a book.

*********************************************

I am not keen on children in romance novels. So, if you ask me, the very best place a child or a baby should appear in a romance book is either never for me or if it has to appear, then in an Epilogue about 5 years later or something like that. For this reason, single mum and single dad novels do not work for me. I came across a few I loved but then in those books, the maximum focus was on the couple's romance not on the child/children.

In all books in "The Haven Brotherhood" series, there is a suspense/action sub-plot that goes on and it steals a bit from the romance and in this book, in addition to it, the child of the heroine steals a lot of scenes so the couple and their romance is not the main focus of the book - or maybe not as much as I wanted it to be. All the other things take up a lot of space and time and I tended to skip a lot of pages getting bored.

*********************************************

If I only consider the romance part of the novel, then I loved it very much. I loved the hero, Trevor - another swoon-worthy guy that deserves a good woman and I loved the heroine very much as well, she is another lovely heroine Ms. Morgan created. She deserves the best of the hero so Trevor and Natalie make an awesome couple together.

Trevor is someone like Thor. He is a blonde haired-blue eyed giant man with a heart of gold.

Natalie is a curvy brunette who is a very sweet woman.

If the book focused only on Trevor and Natalie's romance, them meeting, dating, etc, I would have given it 5 stars but all the child stuff, Trevor's bonding with the child, Natalie's ex causing problems, their struggles with the ex, the scheme to get rid of the ex for good etc all caused me to get bored.

*********************************************

Also, I didn’t get to see the first meeting of the hero and the heroine, which was disappointing.

Their story starts a few weeks after Trevor hires Natalie as a waitress in his bar. He watches her while she looks at her phone all the time during her shift and he decides to warn her. And when he does, he learns that her ex is causing her problems and he decides to help her. That’s not the beginning I like in a romance story. I would have liked to see the moment they met, the attraction they felt instantly maybe and then the rest… Nope, the night her ex causes problems is the night they start to get closer to each other. Well, later, there are hints that they found each other attractive before that but we didn't get the scenes when they thought these things about each other... Just in retrospect.

*********************************************

Once they get to know each other better, they make a perfect couple but the beginning was off. And if they weren’t such an awesome couple together, the lack of their first meeting would have caused me to feel detached, would have made me unable to feel their connection. I don’t know how she did it but Ms Morgan made me believe in their love 100% even after such a non-romantic beginning.

*********************************************

I loved the chemistry between the hero and heroine but I must say that although I liked all their intimate scenes together, I hated that their first time was when Natalie's mother was in the house.

Not cool... not cool at all.

With all the noise she made etc., I couldn't concentrate on the scene, thinking how much the mother heard. He could have taken her his home or they could have waited and done it in his home another time but the first time while the mother is in that small house of hers is neither cool nor romantic, if you ask me.

*********************************************

* All in all, the book is a very good one if you like your romance with children in it - I don't!

* And it's a very good book if you like your romance with a sub-plot of some action and suspense in it - I don't.

That's why, unlike the first two books in which the romance took a larger part, this one didn't work for me and I didn't enjoy my time with it as much as I hoped despite the awesomeness of the hero and the heroine.

So, my 3-star rating reflects how much I enjoyed it, not how good the book is and I am sure it is very good for many readers. Just not my cuppa.

Well, still, I can recommend it and say that the scenes of Trevor and Natalie alone are worth reading the book. Their romance is both emotional and steamy :) Oh, how I wish I had more of them and less of the other stuff!

*********************************************

Writing:

- 3rd person point of view
- makes you feel
- 320 pages

*********************************************

Safety:

- No OW/OM drama (Only her ex, who she hates, causes problems with his evil character)
- No cheating
- Separation (only 2 days)

*********************************************

SOME QUOTES FROM THE BOOK

“Have I told you, you’re bossy?”

He shifted his attention from the television to her, let his gaze rest on her lips for all of two seconds, then met her stare. “I can take a lot, Natalie. Can give you space if you need it. Can go as slow as you need me to go when it comes to what’s burning between us. But one thing I don’t have it in me to give is to watch you scared and fidgety as a rabbit in a cougar’s sights without touching you. On that one, you’ll have to suck it up, lean in and let me hold you.”

***

“You think I’m a treasure?”

He grinned, pressing his lips to hers in a lingering yet simple kiss before he answered. “A diamond. One of those rare ones only the luckiest bastards stumble on and everyone tries to steal.”

***

“Say it, Nat. Want to hear it from your mouth.”

Dear God, she’d say or do anything he wanted right now. Find a way to give him the sun, moon and stars if he’d fill her up and push her over the edge. “I’m yours. Anything you want. However long you want.”

He jerked her upright so hard and fast her lungs seized, the merciless grip he kept in her hair not giving an inch. “You think I’d let this go? You’ll walk before I ever give up what’s between us.”

Like hell she would. For years with Wyatt, she’d twisted and turned herself inside out trying to be someone she wasn’t. Trevor took her as she was. Accepted and championed her son, and chiseled past the surface to facets of herself she’d never known existed. Wyatt hadn’t proven worth the fight, but for Trevor she’d storm the pits of hell. “Then you don’t know me very well. I want this. Need this.”

Oh, Trevor, Trevor, Trevor. The perfect dirty southern gentleman. Trevor is everything I love--protective to the core, gentle or rough when he needs to be, and hot as hell in bed.

Newly divorced single mom Natalie needed a knight in shining armor. And her new boss fits the bill perfectly. This one tugged on ALL my heartstrings, even the way he devoted time to Natalie's son Levi.

Rhenna Morgan once more blew me away with this new addition to the Men of Haven series. With skillful storytelling and sizzling-off-the-page romance that keeps getting better, Morgan proves herself to be a shooting star in the romance genre. She is an auto one-click for me. Dying to meet the next Haven man up close and personal.

Claim & Protect is boring. The audiobook is 10 hours long. Miss Morgan focusing in too many aspect in the story. Romance, suspense, action. I want more of the romance.

Alas, the romance is bland. The chemistry between Natalie and Trevor is zero. Nil. Nada. Sadly Miss Morgan does not invest much on building the chemistry between the characters. The suspense is too long and distracting.

I'm starting to feel like a broken record with my reviews on this series. It's consistently good with consistently hot alpha males who are bossy and take charge, but also very protective and good to their women and their mommas.

I like that the author threw in a kid in this one. It's a thing of beauty to see a man step up and take care of a child like he's his own. However, because of that child, I felt Trevor was a bit too resistant in the beginning to claim them permanently. Now I know in the real world, that is a good thing, but in my fantasy fictional world, I want the opposite. It's the only thing that was slightly disappointing for me.

I'm still loving the brotherhood connection with all the guys and how much they rib each other about their women. On to book 4...

A Happy 3.5 Stars

A good introduction to Rhenna Morgan's books. This may be the third in the series but it can be read as a standalone - I didn't feel lost reading this before the first two.

I overall liked all the characters, and the chemistry between the main characters was well written. Add a cute kid into the mix and this is a enjoyable read.

Although, I did wish Natalie had a tad more bite to her character, I liked her but didn't love her. The dynamics between the brothers was fab and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.

The Haven Brotherhood is a group of unconventional alpha males that have become family. These men are possessive, hot, and successful. This series has fast become a favorite to read and look forward too.

Oh my! Trevor is the perfect sexy dirty southern gentleman. Protective, gentle, rough, hot, and a sexy cowboy.

Claim & Protect is skillfully done. It’s full of heartache, friendship, suspense, action, drama, and romance. Trevor is the perfect gentleman. He’s hot and dirty in and out of bed. Natalie is a single newly divorced mom and her ex is causing problems. Natalie’s boy, oh my, how Trevor interacts with him was terrific. The story was sensational. The characters are outstanding, fun, and you will just fall in love with each and everyone.

I had a phenomenal time getting to know Trevor and the women who captured his heart. I can’t wait for the next installment.

These books are not disappointing at all. Each guy's past or hang up is different. All of the dangers in their ladies past are different. Trevor and Natalie are great, plus you throw in cute little Levi. I loved it. Can't wait to see what Knox is going to be up against.

Rhenna Morgan is killing me.

KILLING. ME!!!

Starting with Rough & Tumble, I fell in love with Jace. I figured he would be my favorite of the series, second only to Axel (who has a sexy smutty Scot thing going on). But then there was Zeke in Wild & Sweet, who was AWESOME. And now... NOW... Rhenna gives us freaking Trevor, who blows both of the previous heroes out of the water. Seriously - each hero has been better than the last! By the time we get around to Axel, my head is just going to explode. Or my ovaries. Or something. And let it be known RIGHT NOW, that I am claiming Axel and his proclivities for all things kink. He. Is. Mine. Period. Exclamation Point!

If you haven't read Rough & Tumble or Wild & Sweet, then you are totally missing out. But if you want to start with Claim & Protect and read out of order, you should be fine. Basically what you need to know is that the Haven Brotherhood is a group of unconventional alpha males that have become family. These men are totally hot, totally possessive alpha male, and totally successful. From club owners to pilots to doctors... you are sure to find a hero to suit your tastes. (Just stay away from Axel!)

Trevor Raines is our laid back cowboy, who is also a pilot and bar owner. He has a big ranch, a big airplane collection, and an even bigger heart. Trevor also has some adequacy issues, making him think that he is not relationship material. When Trevor discovers that his cute new waitress is having family issues, he inserts himself into her life to make sure that she and her son are safe. He was such a freaking good guy. Seriously, you couldn't not like Trevor. He was funny and sexy and caring and just oh-so lovable. I loved that his protective instincts kicked into overdrive, and that those feelings encompassed everyone in our heroine's life. His efforts to bring some light into their life just gave me the warm fuzzies. Likewise, Trevor's thoughts on family (whether related by blood or not) were heartwarming.

Natalie Jordan is a bit of a tortured heroine. She has done her best to escape her narcissistic and abusive ex-husband, but he just won't let go. I felt sorry for Natalie's situation, but I admired her determination to get away and protect her son. I was happy that she allowed Trevor into their life so easily, because I know her first inclination was probably to put her hand up and keep all men out of their life. Luckily both Natalie and her meddling mama were able to see that Trevor was a good guy and could be trusted to keep everyone safe and make them happy. And Natalie's son! I just loved him. I am not a kid person at all... but Levi was just so cute that you couldn't help but love him.

The relationship between Trevor and Natalie was both sweet and sexy. Trevor did such a good job at helping Natalie get her self-confidence back and, in turn, Natalie made Trevor see that he was worthy of a relationship. While they had some good chemistry and were no slouches in the sheets, most of their time together had me feeling sweet and sappy. Despite the tortured past of both our hero and heroine, this story felt like a feel-good romance from start to finish.

The Haven Brotherhood and its growing family is such a great group. Each member of the brotherhood is dynamic and engaging, but they come together for a common purpose, and the most important thing to each one is the family they have created. I wish I could find a group such as this to adopt me! I encourage all romance fans to pick up the Haven Brotherhood series - you won't regret it.

Reread

Trevor, the sexy cowboy in Haven has his eyes on his new waitress, not only because she's gorgeous but because she's using her phone while on work. He goes to speak to her about it and ends up getting her to confess to her troubles at home.
Natalie is a divorced former RN turned waitress who left her husband because he not only hit her once but not long after hit her son. Even though they're divorced he uses his joint custody arrangement to mess with her. Her sexy boss Tre or follows her home one night and ends u in the middle of the drama.

Trevor was a sexy Alpha as is expected of the men of Haven but he basically doubted he'd be any good in an actual relationship with Nat for quite a bit of the book. He went all out to get her ex put of her life but he didn't claim her until very late in the book. Due to his very early childhood he had some issues that led to him holding back a bit with Natalie. In the end however,he pulled his head out of his ass and claimed his woman ad adopted her son. My only niggling issue would be that I'd have preferred to see Trevor building a relationship with her son, just the two of them especially as he adopted the boy in the end.

I liked Natalie, one of my most favorite things in a romance is a mom who'd do anything for her kid. Though she was forced to still share custody with her douchebag ex she left him as soon as he hit her son. She worked two jobs to be able to provide for him and was a great mom. She started off not wanting a relationship but given her ex situation I couldn't fault her. She had one moment of rash judgement that led to a two day separation but all in all I liked her.

All in all I enjoyed this one, moving on!

*That cover is just gorgeous!!!!

The true test of a book\series is not in the initial read because I've read many books that I loved at first and on a re-read my question is always what the heck was I thinking? Not so with this series, loved these Men at first, love them just as much now!

The main reason I am not the biggest fan of contemporaries is because real life creeps in, and I read for escape. Well, somehow Morgan has won me over to her style of contemporary romance by making the men so amazing, you wish you met them in real life. Book 3 of The Haven Brotherhood not only holds up the crazy high bar set by the first two in the series, but even surpasses the previous ones. The reason? This hero, y'all.

The Story-
Trevor runs a bar, and when his new employee, Natalie, runs into some trouble with her ex, his protective instinct kicks in.

My Thoughts-
Normally, I'm not a huge fan of divorce politics in my romance, but this ex is so yuck, and Trevor is so yum that I thoroughly enjoyed the story. And all the stuff with her little boy and Trevor...swoon. Trevor is just the perfect southern gentleman cowboy with all kinds of sexiness and Alpha simmering under the surface. Natalie is extremely sympathetic and likable, and it is so nice to see her get her happy ending. Can we talk about the sex? OMG. I honestly don't know how Ms. Morgan does it. Actually, Rhenna, I feel like we should be on a first name basis after reading your sexy scenes. Rhenna, how do you come up with new ways to raise the heat level without ever crossing the line into uncomfortable territory?

The Bottom Line-
Read this book. Read the whole series. These are IMO the best contemporary romance books out there right now, and I believe they will be winning some awards. 5 stars

I honestly love this series. So far, every book has just hit every alpha-male-romance note for me perfectly.

Trevor is like his brothers, just as alpha as it's possible to be while at the same time being equally sweet, caring and protective, wrapped up in all the hot and sexy you can take. Most important to this Haven Brotherhood is family and those they love. Nobody and nothing else gets in the way of or threatens that.

Natalie is a divorced mother of an adorable little boy, struggling to make a good life for her, her son and her mother after the bitter, ugly end of her marriage. Her ex, however, is determined to keep that from happening. Working her new 2nd job at Trevor's pub, that ex almost loses Natalie her job until Trevor finds out what she's spending so much time on the phone dealing with. With his own painful past riding him hard, Trevor's protective nature flares, and in standing up for Nat to her ex, he allows himself to want something he never thought he deserved.

Rhenna Morgan writes great characters and they have certainly hooked me in this series. Not just the sexy alpha males *though, hot dayum* but the strong, smart women, both the heroines and moms, and with this addition, a sweet little boy I loved as much as his dad. Nobody in these stories are perfect, and they do make mistakes, but they doing their best to live the best lives they can. And they always have each other's backs, in whatever way they need. Can't ask for much more from anybody.

The writing and pacing are well done and at times it gets quite edge of your seat. The chemistry between Trevor and Natalie is damn hot, and while the attraction is pretty instant, it's not quite insta-love. Everything about it worked for me, and the epilogue made me shed a few happy tears. This was another great story from this world and I'm genuinely looking forward to the next one!

BOOK BLURB

Trevor had no interest in settling down, but there's something entirely too appealing about the woman he can't stay away from. There's only one thing to do—change his plans…and hers. When Natalie's ex resurfaces to threaten her new life, Trevor will move heaven and earth to make sure the bastard can't hurt her again. Except saving Natalie means outing his own secrets—and it could mean losing her forever…

My Thoughts

Have to say so glad for a couple of reasons to have been approved via NetGalley and had the chance to enjoy the three books in Haven Brotherhood series released so far.

First because the characters are portrayed as strong people who have made something of themselves despite the odds stacked against each one of them in their early years.

Second because as a die hard romance reader it is always a genuine pleasure to read a story where the hero or heroine is dead set against commitment, at least that is so until that certain someone walks into their life and changes everything they thought they wanted up to that point.

Trevor Raines, like Jace Kennedy and Zeke Dugan before him, had no intention of settling down until Natalie Jordan broke down the barriers one by one he had erected keeping his distance from forming any kind of attachment to a woman.

What made this particular book in the series hit hardest for me was the fact Trevor parents had shown him by their example just how a bad relationship could scar a child for life. When he finds himself falling deeper for not only Natalie but her seven-year-old son Levi his protective instincts take over, causing him to take action which will ensure her ex-husband is permanently removed from Natalie and Levi’s lives.

Unfortunately this same action almost ensures that any further relationship between him and her is stopped in it’s tracks.

The very poignant romance that takes place will perhaps be a little slow to develop for some. For me it was paced perfectly allowing time for Natalie and Trevor to come to grips with the fact what started out as a way to shield this woman and her child turned into something lasting and special.

Book 1&2 were excellent reads, book 3 took that excellence and added a little boy named Levi into the mix and won hands down.

Natalie and Trevor together are great but when you add her son Levi to the pair the family dynamic created is truly touching to watch unfold.

I am in love with the series. This book is about Trevor and his playboy ways and not wanting to settle down. Natalie is his new employee and he seemed to be there to save her when he ex-husband causes her troubles. Trever falls in love with her and her son and is willing to do what ever he has to to help them and save them. Natalie since the marriage has a tough time trusting or asking. Trevor calls in his brothers from Haven to help out and then do just like in the other two books.

I just love Rhenna Morgans writing I have been a fan since book one and will read more of her books. She snags you from the first word and keeps you hooked throughout the whole book. I didn't want to put down.

Rhenna Morgan does it again. She's become another of my go-to authors. Her Men of Haven are witty, sexy, humble, sweet, and have a moral compass, along with being hard, dark, and dangerous. Can't go wrong with that combo. Hard to say which of this series has been my favorite, but this one ranks at the top. Can't wait for the next to come!

5 Stars - 3 Flames

OMG, TREVOR!!!!!!! He's mine....all mine ladies. Nope, not sharing...well, at least not yet.

(Sigh) - Not only do we get Trevor the amazing Haven Brother, we get the bar owner, plane flyin, every day cowboy who just about melts every square inch of my heart every time he opens his mouth. Don't get me wrong. He's still a hard ass and likes things a certain way. Which is why when one of his employees starts breaking rules, he steps in make sure things are good. But they're not good and instead of walking away from a situation, he inserts himself so deep in to it, it sets off a chain reaction that will leave you breathless.

Natalie has an ex who's a DICK. Yep, I capitalized it. You will too when you know what's up. All Natalie wants to do is start a new life and return to the way things were, Pre-ex. But that doesn't seem to be her luck. Nope. Mr. DICK is always lurking, making things harder than they need to be. Until one night when her boss steps in and literally saves the day. Things are gonna get tricky...

LOVE LOVE LOVE this story. Yes, Natalie is strong and sweet and amazing. Yes, Trevor is kind and caring and hot as hell. But you know what? Someone else stole my heart. Natalie's little boy, Levi. And then Trevor had to go and be Trevor, bringing me to tears when he steps in to take care of not just Natalie, but Levi too. This couldn't have been a sweeter, more perfect story. I'm actually sad it's over. Well....sort of. After all, it's another Brother down which brings me one step closer to......KNOX. Bring. It. On.

***5 ‘Not All Knights Wear Armour, Some Wear Cowboy Boots’ Stars***

I swear I’m a pile of gooey goodness right now. This book had so much heart and panty melting going on that even if I went skinny dipping in arctic temp waters I’d still be melting. Then when you add in the rest of the Haven men, the women who keep them in check, an adorable seven year and a crazy asshat, you find that you have a book that gives you all the feels and more.

Trevor..mmm. This man is everything. There really is no other way to say it. He’s all kinds of protective smexy alpha male with a silver tongue that he knows how to use in more ways than one and a sense of honor a country mile wide. He has his demons, and even he’ll admit to crossing over into gray areas every so often, but sometimes what’s right isn’t always black and white.

Natalie. Talk about a strong woman. She may not have made the best choice at one time in her life, but she’s learned from it. Her determination to make her future better and brighter not only for herself, but her son. The woman has moxie and it shows as she takes on everything life throws at her.

Trevor and Natalie’s journey to their HEA was so much fun. I swear my cheeks are hurting from all the dopey smiling I was doing because of these two. They both tried to keep from crossing lines, but failed miserably every time and how could they not? The chemistry between them was blazing hot in every way possible. They just fit. And I can’t leave Levi, Natalie’s son, out of this equation because he played a huge part in these two falling down the rabbit hole and it seriously brought out all the feels. The crazy asshat does come in and makes things more complicated, but in the end I love how that was all dealt with.

From the first page I was hooked and loved every second of it! Not only did I love Trevor, Natalie and Levi’s journey, but I loved hanging out with the Men, and women, of Haven as well a few new friends we got to meet. I’m a sucker for the whole band of brothers/family vibes thing and when done right it makes my reading experience exponentially better and Ms. Morgan definitely does it right! I love the mom’s, Frank was amazing and I love seeing how happy Viv and Gabe are with Jace and Zeke. I’m still holding on to my claim on Axel and Knox but I’m not gonna lie and say that Beckett and Danny are right up there with them, along with Ivan. Now to wait for my BBF Knox’s book with as much patience as I can possibly muster up! (Note: It doesn't help when certain authors like to tease about the hotness that is coming, but I shall do my best)

Natalie is sweet and sassy, with a core of vulnerability she tries to mask with a tough facade. She's trying to leave her abusive past behind her, which is not an easy feat when she shares custody of her precocious seven year old son with her nutty ex. But she's trying to make the best of a cruddy situation until things take a turn for the not so great.

Trevor is a one smexy cowboy! With his southern grace and protective persona, I thought he was one hell of a package! He has no plans to get involved with anyone, but something about Natalie draws him like a moth to a flame. I liked Trevor's directness and charm and got a kick out of his antics with Natalie, but the way he handled Natalie's son, Levi, stole the show!

And Levi! He was hysterically adorable around Trevor. Trevor found himself hard pressed to deny the little boy much-especially when he tried to mind his p's and q's to impress Trevor. As Trevor said, Levi "..can charm the spots off a ladybug", and Levi accomplished that job with flair!

So the chemistry, oh my lands..the chemistry.. Nat and Trevor's attraction was an incendiary, and once they let the reigns go it became a five alarm fire! Natalie could hold her own with Trevor, but he just dominated the bedroom arena and I gotta admit, there's just something about a dirty minded cowboy that I find hard to resist!

Claim and Protect is definitely going on my best reads list for 2017! The story itself was enthralling, but Trevor had me hook, line, and sinker the moment he opened his mouth. I liked Natalie and think she was a good fit for Trevor, but I can't lie. I'm literally in love with this book because of a fictional guy, lol! Every time Trevor spoke, am I the only one imagining it was Sam Elliott's panty-melting, sexy, southern molasses drawl?!

At any rate, a solid plot, strong characters, and one adorable kiddo kept me occupied through the night with their humor, friendship, and loyalty. And the romance?! My favorite part of the story was the combustible romance with that bite of vulnerable sweetness; it just melts the heartstrings!

Jesus, Trevor was so attractive and sexy, “not sure if we’re talking about riding horses or the fact that we’re both still thinkin’ about giving my sheets a good tussle.” If Trevor could he'd give his girl the world, he literally always gives her what she needs, “not gonna say no to anything that involves your mouth and my ***k.” I love the men in this series, they protect and love hard. I really can't wait for the next book.

As a fan of the first two books in the series, I had to keep reading. I was thrilled that this next book featured Trevor's journey to love. And not just love of a woman, but love of a her child. That aspect just enriched the the story. And although I was a little jealous of Natalie, I loved how she and Trevor found each other. Both of them had backstories and wounds that might have kept them from loving each other, but I'm happy to report that they got over it in their journey. Trevor is protective and alpha, but has this soft, gooey, sexy side that made me want to cheer. They truly are the perfect couple.
Morgan does an amazing job weaving a story. It gripped me from the beginning and held on tight for the entire wild, sexy and intriguing ride. I'm looking forward to continuing with the rest of the series. Write faster, Rhenna Morgan!!

This works brilliantly as a standalone - I loved it and hadn’t read any of the earlier books in this series, though I hope to rectify that in the near future!

The Haven Brotherhood are a group of men, brought together during their troubled childhood and brothers not in blood but in support of each other, working together to protect those who need it so no one else needs to go through what they did. They’re an honourable group who know they’ll always have each others’ backs though what they do isn’t always strictly legal but is usually very effective!

In this story the brother is Trevor Raines. His mother was killed by her abusive husband, Trevor’s father. When he spots one of the waitresses in the bar he owns breaking the rule about using her mobile phone he is determined to discover why she is risking losing her job. When he discovers the reason, it changes things for both of them and is the start of an enthralling story where the Brotherhood again work to protect those struggling to protect themselves. It is a story of overcoming the past to move on with love and hope to look forward to the future and a great romance, too. I thoroughly enjoyed escaping into this well written story, with well portrayed characters and plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader turning pages. I will definitely look out for more in this series and other books by this talented author and have no hesitation in highly recommending this.

I requested and was given a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion after choosing to read it.
