Challenging choices, heartwarming friendship, and everyday magic at the coast of Maine
Life has finally returned to normal in the small town of Beach Cove. Ellie's ready to grow her business when a startling letter turns her world upside down.
Living alone in her rambling house by the sea, Maisie struggles with the ghosts of her past - and with figuring out her enigmatic new neighbor.
Sam does her best to support her friends when she receives an unexpected inheritance. Meanwhile, her husband's research forces her to make a tough decision.
Cate, too, has to make a decision – only hers is a secret. Riddled with doubt, she tries to take charge of her heart.
Follow the women of Beach Cove as they figure out together when to let go and when to fight for love, relationships, and respect. Inn is a heartwarming story that'll pull you right back into the circle of friends you know from Home. Well-written and never boring, this beach book is worth your time.
If you haven't read Beach Cove Home yet, consider starting the series with that - all books can be read as stand-alones but are better read in order. Home is where the journey begins!
Book 2 of the Beach Cove series is not as tissue needy as the first (A Home in Beach Cove), but it is a great story! Four women in Beach Cove are bound together by the strong bonds of love and friendship – sisterhood at its’ best. Ten years ago Maisie’s son disappeared, then her husband committed suicide. Now Ellie is facing heartbreak when her husband, Dale, leaves her a Dear Jane letter, wipes out the bank accounts and then puts “his house” on the market. As the three of them banded together to help Maisie in her struggle to desire to carry on in their community, now Maisie joins the other two in uniting to help Ellie. While helping Ellie to see what is really happening in her life, Cate and Samantha also face decisions and trials of their own. This story is one that tugs at the heartstrings of every woman over the age of 50, when looks begin fading and self esteem can hit hard patches. You will want to take some of them by the shoulders and give a good shake, others you will pat on the back for their good sense and decisions. We all make mistakes, but the good that can follow when we change directions is well worth the effort. Thank you, Nellie Brooks, for writing this warm, challenging, and at the same time comforting book. It helps us to remember that friends are well worth cultivating during the good times so that we can help each other through the bad ones. The author supplied this book to me. I am voluntarily writing this review.
A lot is happening in the lives of all the four friends in Beach Cove in this book. The story concentrates more on Ellie and the end of her relationship with Dale. The characters come alive and draw you into their lives and emotions. The heartbreak is real as is learning to cope with new feelings. I can’t wait for the next one. I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
What do you do when your marriage just doesn’t seem to be working? In Beach Cove, Sam, Cate, Maisie, and Ellie struggle with their lives and the men that are a part of them. One of them isn’t in quite the same situation, but her friends lovingly support her through her difficulties.
I love beach towns, and Beach Cove seems like the ideal one. But underneath the beauty, there are underlying tensions. I also love books that don’t make me cringe because of the language or the behavior of people. For me, then, this seems like the ideal series. And what a way Nellie Brooks has with words! She comes up with the most beautiful phrases. I look forward to reading more.
This book series has been so much fun I can't believe how fast it is going. Love the characters and story line is great. Can't wait to read the next book. I have enjoyed it so much I already bought the last in the series, as I know when this third book is read I will want to just get to the last with out hesitation. Thanks again for sharing your talent with me. Pegge
As I was hoping, this second book in the Beach Cove series really peaked my interest. This book focused on Ellie, her marriage, and her life changing in ways she had not expected. She moves in with Maisie and they decided to turn Beach House into Beach Cove Inn. We also see changes happening in Cate's life but most important is the bond that these four women have with each other. How wonderful to know that you always have a friend to lean on in difficult times.
What a place to rediscover your life and old friends. Love all the women characters , their honesty, friendship and their unique qualities brings a refreshing spirit to the story . The men however sound like wimps and run away and make us all wonder or simply say good riddance. I'm really enjoying this series I highly recommend .
Was better than first, although again some silly editorial errors. Example “he went through to the door to say goodbye without putting the cups down, then she left and back , he was leaning on the door frame with his hands in his pockets. What happened to the cups? Found the character of Vince getting quite creepy Onto Book 3
The relationship between Maisie, Cate, Ellie and Sam is a precious thing. They care about each other like sisters, they don't judge and always show love, compassion, understanding and support. I enjoyed this story because each woman is ready to make a change in their life, a chance at a new beginning.
I found this books little unsettling. As a woman of an age similar to these ladies this bookmakers you take stock of your life and family. Do you find yourself at a crossroad like these ladies or is everything smooth sailing? I need to read on to see what happens to these wonderful characters. Enjoy!
The first book in this series introduced us to the four women who were best friends. This second book tells how the Beach House, Maisie's big beautiful house, becomes the Beach Cove Inn. Although the friends all have their ups and downs, they help each other out. And who wouldn't want to live in Beach Cove!
This book features Ellie, whose husband has abruptly left her, after depleting their bank accounts and selling their house. With the help of her friends she is learning to start her life over.
