When Ashlee arrived in Florida to house sit for her aunt for two months, she was ready to enjoy her new beach house. After years of hard work and traveling as a wedding photographer, Ashlee was ready for a break. What she wasn't ready for was her new neighbor, Carla.
Carla listened to her therapist's advice and took two weeks off from work. When she'd made partner at her firm, she’d started working even longer hours than she already had been. She was dangerously close to burning out, and she was doing her best to get ahead of it.
Ashlee was never one for relationships, knowing she worked too hard and traveled too often to make a reliable girlfriend.
Carla saw enough heartbreak in her office as a divorce lawyer to wonder what was the point of it all.
As neighbors, they hit it off, but when the attraction between the two of them becomes obvious, they start to question what the future could possibly hold for them. They were so different. They lived more than a thousand miles apart. Not to mention the age difference. Did they even have a chance?
This was a very sweet, uncomplicated romance with minimal angst. It was well written, with likable characters and a good bit of heat. I’d definitely recommend if you’re looking for a good dose of romance without the drama.
This is a sweet story. Take it to the beach or your park. I read it in one day. It's so sexy and quite realistic with good characters. You'll enjoy it.
Laura Conway knows her way around romance. This was another sweet non angst story where two people who believed themselves to be set in their ways, find each other. Words have a way of convincing the audience that this could be real. That is definitely what I felt. The descriptions of how they were feeling in each other’s arms was well in the realm of sweet love. I enjoy Laura Conway’s writing and I definitely enjoyed this story. I loved the photographer reference to Peyton and Tracy’s wedding. Second Time Around was another great Love Story…..
Carla and Ashlee’s journey to opening their hearts to love was an honest exploration of feelings and beliefs that could have stopped the progress to their relationship. (How’s that for a run on sentence?). I’m curious as to why they were so much in their heads instead of confronting the possibility of a deep and loving relationship. I loved Aunt Beth! You can find love at any stage in your life. I’m counting on it! A good read. I heartily recommend this and any other works by this author. Thank you Peace
This was a sweet love story. The author portrayed two women at a crossroad in their lives. It just goes to show that you never know what (or who) might be right around the next corner, just waiting for you to appear! Well done!
So after picking up my first Laura Conway book.. I feel like I'm binge reading and about to Start my 8th in a row! How did I bot find Laura before she does not disappoint!! Pick up and read :)
