𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗪𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀? 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗡𝗼𝗮𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗱.

Noah Reid, a new lawyer at a prestigious Hong Kong firm, wanted a safe, boring life. Trained to be an elite assassin, he buried those skills when he was helpless to stop the murder of his parents a decade ago.

But destiny had other plans.

When the office’s biggest client is murdered with a crossbow arrow in full public view, Noah is thrust into the violence of Asian organized crime.

The Triads are missing billions of dollars.
And they want justice.
The main suspect?

Noah’s corrupt boss, Senior Partner for the Asia Pacific, Garret Southam.

The mob doesn’t play around.
They don’t ask questions.
They take you… or your family.

Noah knows that if he stays with the firm, he’s a dead man. He knows the smart thing is to run as fast as his legs will take him.

But when the mob kidnaps Garret’s daughter, Olivia, Noah can’t walk away. What happened ten years ago to his parents will not happen again.

Outnumbered and outmuscled, Noah unleashes the fury that’s been bottled up for so long to try to rescue her.

Unless the Triad kills him first.

FURY UNLEASHED is the action-packed first thriller in the Noah Reid action thriller series. Tightly woven with resilient characters and relentless stories with nail-biting suspense, Noah’s books will keep you turning pages late into the night. Perfect for fans of Robert Ludlum's Jason Bourne, Lee Child's Jack Reacher and John Wick’s action-packed movies.

Praise for FURY UNLEASHED

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 #𝟭 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗿. This is a truly great book. Fast paced but not hectic. Very good plot and the characters are fleshed out well.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Action thriller at its very best There is so much to enjoy in this story. Heart stopping action, a great story with characters that are well developed.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ WOW!!! I don't know when I've read a more adventurous, nerve racking book and with just enough humor to have me smiling, once I started reading I couldn't stop.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was well written, fast paced, with several nail biting, cringe worthy… There is also heart amid the ugliness of some, and two characters that will pull at your heart strings. Really good job, Wes Lowe.

I write what I know and care about.

My work is infused with relentless furious action and/or paranormal charismata. Contemporary worlds infused with mysticism. Breathless, brain-twisting plots. High stakes suspense that churns the psyche.

But ultimately it is knowing and experiencing the lives of people that provide the impetus of Stories that Grip the Soul.

I've made music with Kainai First Nations, helped save Russian refugees from deportation, hung with Martial Arts Grandmasters, counseled WWII vets on their deathbeds. Not to mention deep Chinese, cultural participation,

A kung fu master in Hong Kong manipulates his young student against an older student who has gone into crime.

Not quite there. Takes way too long for the action to start, and all the humor seemed forced.

Excellent

4*

While the characters are well rounded, and the story is fast-paced, it isn't too fast. Some of the action scenes appear to be too far fetched and unrealistic.

Action thriller at its very best

There is so much to enjoy in this story. Heart stopping action, a great story with characters that are well developed. Even if you read the original book it's worth reading again as the storyline is much tighter , so be prepared for an all-nighter.

Another great book from Wes Lowe. Noah Reid is the ultimate Martial Arts master and the action is very good. Fast paced but not hectic. Very good plot and the characters are fleshed out well. This is a truly great book and it will not disappoint you if you are into Martial Arts.

Good first book

While it took a while to get into the groove of the book it eventually became much more exciting. It was a page turner toward the end and left you with wanting to read the second book.

15-yrs-previous. Hong Kong, China. Business Aviation Centre. Garret Southam (43, British father, lawyer, Pittman Saunders), Olivia Southam (11, daughter), Abby Sung (10, Chinese), & Tommy Sung (Chinese father, HS dropout) watched in horror as the plane exploded as it was coming into land.
Shan Shui Po District, Good Shepherd School. George Reid (30+, husband/father) & Sarah Reid (wife/mother) missionary teachers taught English & Christian faith to 32 poverty stricken Chinese students.

Garret & Tommy came to speak with Master Sifu Wu (Chinese, 18, Hung Gar Shaolin martial arts grandmaster) about Tiger Master Chin Chee Fok.
George, Sarah & Kai (drug addict) had been brutally murdered.
They had taken Chad Huang (orphan, Noah’s roommate) into the family.
Noah Reid (son) & he were awfully close.
Present day LA, CA. Henry Wilson Hall’s stage. Noah (28, Northern Summit Law School grad; JD) looked out in the audience to see Master Sifu Wu.
Armstrong & Co. boardroom. Garret Southam (Pittman Saunders lawyer) met with Ron Armstrong (accountant) & his 6 other associates.

Hong Kong, China. Is Tiger Master Chin Chee Fok linked to the Golden Asia conglomerates (Golden Asia Land, Golden Asia Holdings, Golden Asia Imports, Golden Asia Exports, Golden Asia Foods, Golden Asia Land Corp).
What about Tommy Sung (50+, wealthy playboy, gambler)?
Tiger Master Fok (Duke’s father, Shaolin Triad leader) wanted to keep Garret Southam (Pittman Saunders Sr. Partner for the Asia Pacific Region, lawyer, Golden Asia chief architect), Olivia Novak (Czech, Kowloon Christian Academy), Noah Reid & Abby Sung (27, daughter) alive.
What was Terry discussing with Garrett?

I do not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing free books from publishers & authors. Therefore, I am under no obligation to write a positive review, only an honest one.

Warning: This book contains descriptive accounts of extremely graphic adult content, violence, or expletive language &/or uncensored sexually explicit material (pedophile, kidnapping, minor verbally, psychologically, emotionally physically & sexual abuse, pornography) which is only suitable for mature readers. It may be offensive or have potential adverse psychological effects on the reader. If you are especially sensitive to this type of material, it is strongly advised not to read any further.

An awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very professionally written crime thriller book. It was extremely easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great description list of unique characters, settings, facts etc. to keep track of. This could also make another great crime thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series. To be continued. There is no doubt in my mind this is an extremely easy rating of 5 stars.

Thank you for the free author; BGMP Inc.; BookFunnel; Amazon Digital Services LLC.; book.

Master Wu, Grandmaster of Hung Gar Shaolin martial arts, had left the monastic life, and settled in Hong Kong, hoping to encourage more men to join the group. His best early students included Garret Southam (British), Tommy Sung (Chinese) and Chin Chee Fok (also Chinese), but Chin was drawn away to a high-roller lifestyle financed by easy money that could be made illegally. He convinced Garret and Tommy to join him, but they soon realized the danger they were in and wanted out. Chin relied on their talents, so he murdered their wives right in front of them and their children to keep them under his control.

Noah Reid’s parents were missionaries who ran the Good Shepherd School, a free school in their shabby fifth-floor tenement in a poverty-stricken Hong Kong district. Their hearts of gold would not permit them to turn away anyone who needed help, and Noah inherited that trait.

Master Wu did not have a head for business. His early success in martial arts training waned, and he eventually lost everything, winding up in the streets. Noah happened to find him and took him home; his parents took him in, and Master Wu insisted on training Noah in martial arts to pay for his keep. He was a hard taskmaster, insisting on perfection and Noah excelled in his training.

Chin was not a businessman; he needed and trusted Garret and Tommy to run his operations and keep up the appearance of legitimacy in the books. After their wives were murdered, they vowed to do everything they could to bring Chin down and began embezzling money. Chin couldn’t tell that anything was amiss. When they were ready to make their move, they consulted Master Wu, who advised them to wait for the proper time: when Noah would be ready to tackle the job. Will Noah be able to overcome the hardened criminal Chin?

This book is well-written with a complicated plot, strong characters and descriptions that made me feel like I was on the street with them. There is a lot of action, (some of which is very graphic violence and sexuality) and a very intriguing story which made it very hard to put down, meaning I lost a fair amount of sleep. I enjoyed this book and will certainly read more of Mr. Lowe’s writing

So many versions of Noah Reid’s story it gets confusing.

The Present Series:

Fury Unleashed
Venomous
Manipulate
Forbidden Cargo

A 2md Set:

Prologue - Evil Dawns
Darkness Descends
Bleak Night of the Soul
Fury Unleashed
Epilogue

There are 2 versions of Fury Unleashed

Much of this reworked from previous titles.

Chin is a sadistic, self-centred monster as portrayed here. He operates a multi-national criminal empire and rules it with terror and fear.

If you’ve read books or watched movies about special forces training you’re aware of bodys honed to endure super-human exertion and continue performing in conditions that would kill normal humans. Temple monks add a deep mystical component to their study of martial arts which were developed for self defense. The mental and spiritual aspects of the training is as important as the physical. Given that monks spend years honing their skills the moves described here seem choreographed like a lethal ballet movement.

This book was provided to me by the author in return for an honest review.

This book examines the interactions between three former students of an ancient form of Chinese martial arts - hung gar king fu - through the lens of a Chinese triad, greed and lust for power. This part of the story (after all this book one of three ;-)) concludes concludes following the immortal battle between good and evil (represented by the former students of Master Wu.

There are times in this book where the story drags and other times that the story rushes ahead with reckless abandon and physicality.

The story is very exciting and at times keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. That being said, I believe that this exciting tale rates a solid four stars out of five.

As with all reviews, this is just my five cents worth.

Fury Unleashed: A Crime Action Thriller (The Noah Reid Series Book 1), my second read from author Wesley Robert Lowe. I've managed to acquire 16 books from this author since 2015 and yet only managed to read Evil Rises (Noah Reid #0.5), the first Noah Reid book. I enjoyed both books, well-written but with the promise of so much more, still I'll be reading this author again! Next up Venomous: An Action Adventure Crime Novel (The Noah Reid Thrillers Book 2). I received a free Kindle copy of this book. The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Non stop action - read this book!

A plan of revenge that spanned decades with one person in mind to complete it.2 families ripped apart by one incident. 1 person groomed to fulfil a lifelong vendetta, innocents caught in the cross fire, who will be victorious, who will survive?
Great build up of characters, intriguing flashes back to the original deed and a story that will continue!
Fabulous read, I could hardly out it down!
Great start to a series that I look forward to reading.

I... tried. Honestly, I did, because my trilogy--soon to be published--also uses a lot of different martial arts, and I wanted to see how this author uses them/describes fighting scenes.
But, it's too unrealistic. Older men fighting practically naked against Bengal tigers for no reason, other than he can; another bursting a hundred-and-fifty pound concrete door open; etc. And the incredibly horrific background of the bad guy's 'sexual' childhood. Just... no.

Once they were friends, but Chin emerged and held the others hostage to do his bidding. A plane explosion with two of the friend's wives on board. Chin was showing his control. Martial arts at it finest in this thriller against evil. A number of deaths and money hidden. This novel keeps your interest with a lot of action.

Disturbingly gritty

While this was not particularly my kind of book, I have still given 4 stars for the rapid paced, non stop action and widely varied characters. It was well written but I wasn't a fan of some of tbe bloodthirsty scenes and I felt some were rather far fetched. If you are into martial arts & vicious fighting, you would probably enjoy this book.

This was well written, fast paced, with several nail biting, cringe worthy, is that even possible moments! You’ll learn a thing or two about martial arts. There is also heart amid the ugliness of some, and two characters that will pull at your heart strings. The ending ... well, for those of us who read this book, we all will have to stay tuned for that.
Really good job, Wes Lowe.

"Typical of the genre"

I keep trying this type of thriller and they never really catch fire with me. All the ingredients are there to satisfy the fans of the genre and good luck to them. Not for me.

Full of Action

A lot of fighting martial arts style and the main protagonist Noah I felt I could not relate to. He was vain patronizing always showing off but he gets there in the end and is one of the hero's but for how long as their is 3 books to read in this series.

An action filled story pitting good against evil in a constant filled action fury. Young against old mind against matter. The young Noah trained to be a warrior to overcome the older and evil Chin. Who can win in this game of martial arts. Well worth reading.

A very good start for this series of books

Noah Reid is the new hero on the block. The main problem with this series is that a lot of his support people got killed and he will need a lot of support in future books.

Wirth the time to relax and read

I have read other books by Wes Lowe and once again I could not put it down. From beginning to end the story flowed. Characters are developed where you decide the ones you like or hate. Looking forward to reading next in series.
