Malaysia is an up and coming entrepreneur with a passion for cooking. With dreams of moving her home business to her own full fledge restaurant, she has the support from all of her loved ones except her main one—her boyfriend Shane. With his insecurities and aggression showing, Shane proves why their relationship will be completely done just like her food sooner than later. But just like a thief, Shane doesn’t go silently into the night, making Malaysia realize just how unpredictable he is.Stylez is the boss that the hood loves and haters secretly hate. Managing to keep abreast with the demands of the streets, his incarcerated brother, and his selfish girlfriend Carmen, Stylez ends up getting more than he thought when his brother asks him for a favor, opening his eyes to what his relationship is and isn’t. When his annual backyard party occurs and things go awry, Stylez has to call on Malaysia for her chef skills, not knowing that her help will be needed elsewhere too, proving to be the perfect little distraction and addition. While trying to avoid a hidden secret, Stylez and Malaysia find themselves into the thick of it when the summer kicks off, redefining the lines between them. Freshly out of relationships, will Stylez and Malaysia heat up things for the summer and provide their own version of a hot girl-hot boy summer? Or will their exes interfere too much, causing the couple to cool off and just let it burn?
Nai, good read. Malaysia was such a go getter, she had a great heart that Shane took for granted. He never believed in her dream nor did he support her. Treating her like she was worth nothing Malaysia finally realized that he didn't mean her any good. Malaysia could cook her behind off, she left a job to pursue her dreams, meeting Stylez was such a great thing that happened to Malaysia he showed her what happens when she has a boss behind her verses a worker. Stylez had his own issues also with his supposedly woman, she didn't care about Stylez the man she only cared about what he could buy her. Carmen was a snake. She wasn't even in the same lane as Malaysia, Stylez had a serious situation happen and where Carmen should've been by his side she allowed her true self to shine all that did was move Stylez further into Malaysia arms. Between Shane and Carmen both being on some mess they both lost so much but neither one deserved Malaysia or Stylez Malaysia was there to help Stylez out with his serious situation and he helped her bring her dreams to life. Good read
OMG I enjoyed reading this book I would love another book on the couples
Malaysia was a independent and driven women who handled her business and never gave up on her dream. Styles (aka) Sean Sinclair was a Boss who was well respected and provided for the community. I admire his business sense and he stepped up took responsibility for taking care of his nephew Corbin he took in his care because his mother Raynell had a drug addiction. His brother Saint was serving time in prison he ask Sean would he take care of his son. Also he got permanent custody of his nephew because his Raynell died of a drug overdose. Malaysia was in a relationship with Shane a abusive person who treated her with disrespectful and didn't believe in her hustle he put his hands on her she broke up with him he was jealous of her and Sean friendship they a fling a year ago. Sean was in a relationship with gold digger Carmen who love the attention she got for being with a Boss she had no drive she wanted someone to take care of her she was a selfish person and had a nasty attitude.
Sean... Really was patient. And not the typical pharmacist. He really knew how to take care of people and loved his brother so much that he literally took his nephew and learned to adapt with raising and getting custody of Corbin...Carmen what the typical mentality material & social media mentality no drive = no man. Sean was not having that and Corbin showed him even more when he sensed Evil in his presence. Malaysia wool Chile she was not having anything with Shane after that first strike her girls supported her and kept her motivated to get her dream. Her dream came more into fruition when she did the last minute cooking. Great thing she had the mind and words to take things slow with Sean and grow further into the relationship without their prior sex thrown in.. Shane. Outta town?? Yep buried in another state with those outta state maggots....Enjoyed this book
Only the beginning! Man let me say that Sean was a boss! Even though they took it there a year ago he didn’t speak in what she didn’t speak on! Then for him to send her that text! Who would of though fixing food for the party would of had them back feeling each other! And have his nephew which she loved kids max her fall even more! It’s a shame when kids can sense who really cares and who don’t! He couldn’t stand Carmen and I’m glad he got rid of her! It was like he really didn’t know his mama either because not once did you hear them say he said mama at all! Corbin felt safe and loved and he was fine! I hate Raynell was found dead but lord I thought that saint was gonna kill himself the way he was talking! Glad he didn’t! Now Lay’s Eat Good was open to business and they gonna raise Corbin as theirs living the good life! I would love to see more of them!
I think this was a good story line but it moved fast. Shane got off easy with how he treated Malaysia. Carmen is bitter and looking for the next come up. I’m actually happy for Malaysia and she finally realizing her worth and wanting better for herself. I didn’t understand her mother though. I love how Stylez believed in her to help her succeed with opening her business but also knew she was the one for him. I applaud him for taking on the father figure role for his brother being that he knew bare minimum of what it took to be a full time parent. Malaysia got her happy ending but I kinda wanted more to their story and how things progressed for them.
I don't know who Shane thought his lil nasty azz was but Stylez reminded him real quick, especially when he caught him red handed. Carmen just as stupid. Stylez is a boss so how she gonna cheat with his worker, and Shane was low level. Malaysia did right by dropping Shane like a bad habit. He didn't give her none of the support and motivation that Stylez did. I feel bad for baby Corbin being his mom is dead and his dad is in prison. But I think he will be just fine with the love and support from his uncle Stylez and Malaysia.💝💝
This was really good! I wish it was longer 😩Shane didn’t deserve Malaysia and I’m so glad she left when she did same with Carmen and Stylez. I loved styles for Malaysia and loved him so much more for stepping up for his nephew the way that he did. Malaysia really had the best friends they were truly down for her and I loved how they was too ready to pull up on Shane lol. I would’ve loved to see Malaysia and Stylez relationship develop more but they were good for each other and we’re together in the end. Really really great read 👏🏾‼️
From the beginning I knew Shane wasn’t it for Malaysia she was tired if his childish ways and it showed! I’m so happy Stylez came in as a friend that turned into the man for her! Stylez definitely was too good of a nan for Carmen! I laughed when I saw that Shane and Carmen were together but acted so hurt when they saw both of their exes moved on to bigger and better! Definitely a good read!
Shane is a coward how you going to get mad ya your girl for wanting to better herself and following her dreams but that’s how some D boys are they feel just cause they are sleeping with you and helping you out with some things you will always need them for everything this how Shane felt but he saw Malyskia wasn’t with it anymore she wanted more and I’m glad a real boss like Stylez step up to the plate and help M persuade her dream
This standalone was so good and I wanted so much more. Enjoyed the storyline and these characters. I loved the friendship between Malaysia and her girls, they definitely had each others back. Shane, was nothing, but a f*** boy and was so jealous but had no drive to do better. I loved Stylez for her and he's exactly what she needed. I hope to see these characters again, cause I need more. Great job Nai.
Whew Shane just a nasty, ignorant hot mess as well as Carmen. Stylez handles his business and stepped up and I loved that all while motivating his woman!! Malaysia deserves the happiness and success that she received. I love how her friends was down to ride. Wasn’t really feeling her mom tho. Overall awesome read
Shane was so wack that was just so nasty what he did to Malaysia I'm glad somebody found her when they did and stylez was there in her corner and helped her when she needed him to be there and her friends I liked how she came in stylez life and was able to help him out with his nephew that's was good so now he will be able to have a stable life...loved the story
Love this book, Malaysia definitely glowed up from Shane with Styles. Styles was definitely his brothers keeper and stepped up to the plate to raise his nephew Corbin. Sad his mom let drugs take over her life and then she eventually lost her life to drugs. Shane deserved what he got after he beat Malaysia and urinated in her face.
This was the best Summertime love city so far! I enjoyed the flow and the good editing. The story was just enough drama and chase to keep it interesting and I love angle of the girl boss being the main thread of the story. I could have read more it was a great read! Oh and her friends are what friends should be!
This book had me from the very first page and I knew from that page that I wasn't going to like Shane old hating butt. Dude acted more female than anything. Especially the way he was coming at Malaysia but he was quite as freak when Stylez approached him. I can't stand dudes like that.
I loved this story. It developed well, and even though short, it didn’t feel rushed. The way Malaysia and Stylez were there for each other was good to see. I love how Malaysia was her own boss and didn’t need a man. It was good to read about a female about her business.
I really enjoyed reading story. Stylez and Lay compliment each other very well. The cards fell right in place for them to relive their past encounter permanently. I love the laughs and encouragement they gave each other. Rain and Inniss are a trip, so I would love a story about them. A very good summer read.
This was a pretty good read. I gave it a 4 only because it wasn't alot of excitement goong on. Meaning it was good but I could put it down and not be in a hurry to return to it. The storyline sis flow very well and I don't recall errors. Will read other books from this author.
The ending felt abrupt to me. I wanted more!! I need more. This is the second time I’ve done this and I usually don’t but…Can I get a part 2 and 3 or something? I want to know what happens with Saint. I want to see spin off relationships!!! Maybe there are other books with these characters.
What this story was good, Stylez got things that he necessary didn't want but he didn't complain he just did what he had to do and Malaysia was humbled and got everything she deserved a man and baby, But one thing they gone do is hold it down for Saint I hope get that Appeal!!
I enjoyed this story Malaysia was perfect for Stylez the two were perfect for each other. The exes where just place fillers definitely a great read. I'm happy Stylez stepped up for his nephew great guy.🔥💜🔥💜🔥💜🔥
I loved the way Stylez stepped up to the plate for Corbin, even though he had reservations. But from day 1 Maylasia was there to hold him down. That’s a real ride or die chic!
I had a fun trip to New York with Malaysia and her crew. They were very close knit. They also didn’t take no mess. Shane was a creep. He was also disrespectful. Im happy Malaysia got rid of him. Stylez was more her speed anyway.
Great read definitely a page turner. Stylez is definitely my new book bae!! Shane and Carmen grimey as heck!! Malaysia should of chopped Shane hand off🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️Definitely would love to read more about these characters
Just can’t believe Shane did that too Malaysa Baby she done bossed up and got her a mannnnnnnnn Now we need an update on Saint did he ever get his appeal And what was Carmen looking for in the cabinets Last but not least who killed Raynell
This was a really good summer time book I like it in my summertime books I write that in my top five it was good really good and this was my first time reading the author and I will continue to read her books thank you.
I absolutely loved this book. Nai you never disappoints me. I'm loving me some Stylez. Since this was just the beginning for them I hope we're getting another story. This is most definitely a must read...
This was an awesome book my girl everything about this book was lit but her ex boyfriend was a real peace of u kno what but at the end Malaysia got her happily ever after!!!
I think it should have been more but it was good they both needed to get rid of the dead weight they was carrying around and like the other summertime stories I think we need another story about these characters
