Storm, the president of the Dark Slayers MC, is everything I should stay away from - tough, powerful and addictive.
I have no business stepping into his world. Especially after that article, I wrote about his MC club.
But I’m out of options. I need his help.
Kids are missing – my sister among them. Storm and the Slayers are my last hope.
Storm agrees to help but demands I pretend to be his woman. But being too close to a smoking-hot tattooed biker with a body built for worship robs me of my willpower to resist him
Storm is a mystery, a danger, and the protector I never knew I desired.
I keep telling myself it’s all fake. Everything. His sultry gaze. His tender caress. His hungry kisses. And yet – Storm haunts me in my dreams.
There is no one I trust more than him to confront the bad guys who took my sister. Storm will stop at nothing to save her and to keep me safe. Just for now, he promises.
If it’s only temporary, how do I stop myself from becoming addicted? Could it be that some ties can’t be cut?
Storm’s story is the first book in the "Dark Slayers MC” hot and alluring romance series featuring bikers who will remind you why you like the bad boys so much. They’re protective, rough, and running on pure diesel and adrenaline. Each book in the series is a standalone with a guaranteed happily ever after for the couple, though it is recommended to read them in order for maximum enjoyment.
Aria Ray writes suspenseful, hot, and intense romance stories featuring powerful alpha-men and witty heroines, full of sacrifice, love, and happily-ever-afters. Like the heroines of her novels, Aria has always had a crush on sinfully sexy bad boys - dark, controlling, irresistible, but tender and loving.
When she is not writing or daydreaming about new stories, she loves to spend time with her own gang of alpha males - a husband and twin boys. But the real mob boss of the family is Don Corleone - the cat.

DNF @20% p58/276 Chapter 6 (Storm) Ok. This writing style is so not for me. Not only is it repetitive, but its constantly telling you simple shit that just doesn’t need to be said.
For example, some of Storm’s thoughts just now: ‘She looked like none of the chicks who hung out with us. I had never been seen with a chick who looked and dressed anything like Zoe.’
😑 seriously? How many ways can we say the same thing? And thats just one example. That shit has been driving me insane from the first fucking page. I just can’t.
This was very unprofessional work and I stopped reading not even half way through. The writing was sloppy, i felt disconnected and there were many holes in the story, inconsistencies and unfinished plot threats, like the one of the concert which was ridiculous and a good editor would have shred it.
There were no real dialogues that carried the story and delivered information, they simply were short byproducts on a side note with no real contents or purpose. The plot was interesting but ultimately non existent and had many inconsistencies. I was expecting they share clues, information and hunt down the villains, which they only did on paper so to speak but not that the reader could experience it, and my miss marple was disappointed. The reason of working together was to share information, strategise and explore new leads, they never actually did. Instead they come up with a scheme to pretend she is his girlfriend, which doesn’t have a purpose at all besides being seen in public which would not be needed. Again the silly concert comes to mind. This only furthers the romantic plot threat but ultimately has no given logic so far for the actual plot. Even the villains support the romantic plot threat, acting without sense from pressuring them to hurry to then scheduling a meeting in a weeks time.
This all doesn’t make much sense, is not really believable or remotely interesting and is not worth my time sorry.
This is a new author to me and I will definitely be reading more from her!! The character development is excellent and the storyline is intriguing, suspenseful and exciting. Zoe needs help but after the story she wrote about Storm and the Slayers she just knows Storm will not aide her. Storm acquiesces but only if Zoe poses as his woman. The chemistry between them is electric. Will Storm be able to help help Zoe be it’s too late?
Just because you use the word motorcycle in the book or put a hunky tattooed guy on the cover, does not a MC genre make. First & last book by this author. Characters are one dimensional. Plot is ridiculous. Insta love at its worst. I finished it, but there was a lot of skimming.
While this one was a MC book, it felt very MC lite. Just an attribute to the guy, like he has brown hair, he's in a MC. It was very much in the back ground and only a few members were in the storyline.
I felt very so so on the whole thing. I didn't get the couple most of the time. The things that each didn't like about the other at the start, they never really talked about to resolve. Things with Ali had been resolved and they walked away from each other, but then 2 weeks later, Storm went to see Zoe, each professed their feelings and then Storm mentioned how Zoe could be his civilian woman, which seemed to make them both happy. Shouldn't that be an insult??? Like she isn't comfortable enough with the MC, one is which he is the president, to not really be around them all the time, despite what she has learned, seen and experienced. It seemed like a slap in the face on both sides.
I probably will check out the next book, mostly because I want to know what happened to Daniel and hope it deals with that, but it will be a make or break book for me on if I keep reading the series.

I’ve not read any of this authors work yet, but it won’t be the last. Thoroughly enjoyed the story, action, danger and lots of smoochy scenes. Looking forward to the next one now.
This author was new to me so didn’t know what to expect. I started reading and reading and couldn’t stop. It wasn’t really heavy on the MC side of things but the storyline was interesting and kept you interested and the characters were appealing and you wanted to know them. I do think that there could have been more to this book but it didn’t seem to lack much in the read. I don’t think you have to be an MC lover to read this book as the enthisit is about the plot and the characters but I am hope we get more in the next book
This is a fantastic Motorcycle Club romance! Strong characters and a great, original storyline. It starts out with Zoe, a blogger who covers everything from criminal trials, to commentaries on the local MC (motorcycle club) and the disappearances of local youths. She has been trying to get in touch with the Dark Slayers MC to interview them to clear up her mistakes in a previous blog about MCs. In the meantime, her younger sister disappears. Breaker, a Dark Slayers member, contacts her about any leads she has on the missing youths because his son has gone missing. Breaker brings his MC president, Storm, along with him for this meeting. She decides to work together with them to find her sister and possibly the other missing kids. In order to do this, they decide that she would pretend to be Storm's girlfriend. Here's where the fun ensues. She begins to see what a MC is about and how much of a brotherhood it is. It opens her eyes that the MC is not all about trouble and breaking laws. The rest you'll have to read for yourself. It really is a wonderful romance with heart. They are some definite twists to the tale and a little bit of heartbreak in the end; but not how'd you expect. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to this author continuing with the Dark Slayers MC series. I'll be the first in line to get the next ones! I highly recommend this book!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
DNF. Not sure if it was me or the book. I felt no real connection to the main characters. The flow of the story seemed off to me. And they way they just jumped into a fake relationship seemed weird and unbelievable.
Tropes: fake dating, forced proximity + one bed (at the end of the book), miscommunication, enemies to lovers, found family, unequal social status, secret identity (was established in the beginning, never mentioned again)
Quick summary: Zoe is a blogger who covers local crime cases that aren’t covered by the news or aren’t “redeemed as important” by the police. She wrote an article about the MC basically saying that all they do is drinking, sleeping with random women and being violent. But also she’s low-key harassing them for an interview. One day her sister goes missing. Storm is the president and trying to help his second in command, Breaker, to find his estranged son, Daniel, who is also missing. Breaker comes across her blog and figures that she could help them. “A new set of eyes to look at the clues”.
My review:
• Pretty repetitive writing. It’s always mentioned how they don’t fit into each others lives, how Zoe isn’t the “usual” type of girl he’d be expected to date. How they’re too different to actually date.
• Loose ends It was mentioned that the other members couldn’t know her real name, so she took her mom’s maiden name. First the other members were told that they were hired to find Alison and then it was revealed that Zoe and Alison are related but they didn’t change Alison’s last name. It was never spoke about again.
As the reader you got the feeling that Daniel and Alison are somehow connected, as it would seem that way since both attended the same college and other students went missing and somehow both working on a school project? Maybe it was just coincidence?
But in the end it was revealed that the men who took Alison aren’t the same as Daniel’s kidnappers. I found it really annoying that Storm only focussed on Daniel when he was angry at Zoe and needed a excuse to continue the “investigation”.
The cat fight between Zoe and the other women was unnecessary and again, never mentioned again. And I must say that at first I believed that the Stripper and her boytoy were in on Alison’s disappearance. Storm only included Breaker on Zoe’s “real identity” and it felt like he suspected one of his club members were a spy.
• the story processes slowly The first 50-60% of the book they did almost nothing, just getting to know each other and lusting over one another. Talking about family, were Storm got really defensive and met her mom. Got her blessing basically. They also got calls from her parents informing Zoe over the photos and letters the kidnappers send. That’s basically it, a lot of crying, spice scenes and waiting around. But like isn’t it unrealistic to wait around if the goal to discover what happend?
Why 1 star? Cause it was so poorly written; the story jumped all over with people, places and things being introduced, for no particular reason, and then no follow up on other things. FL was annoying as fuck - which seems to be the norm for alot of these writers- their FLs are either doormats, or just angry & bitchy at the drop of a dime. Also, I'm beyond sick of supposedly hot tough bikers - prez, vp, enforcer, etc. - all described as 6'3-6'7", bodies carved from granite, gorgeous and either never in a serious relationship or still not over their ex, dead or whatever ol' lady from a decade ago, and they take one look at a short, curvy, 20 something (or younger) and they're in total love & offering marriage after just a whiff of the magic pussy. Most of the women sound beyond short (where are all these 5' lilliputians in the US? Average woman here is 5'4-5'5" with many of us being 5'6" or taller), and quite frankly, fat (ie curvy, thick thighs, bubble butt - book desciptions). And yet, all these biker gods not only fall like a dead tree, but become schmucks around these women who somehow always manage to be TSTL, as was the FL in this book, with a really shitty attitude. Oh, and the entire mother/father drama - what was that about? Another eye-rolling, unnecessary piece of bullshit that did absolutely nothing for the story and made no damn sense. And then the half-sister thrown in the shitty mix? Did 4 or 5 people write sections of this book & then just slapped it together with spit & a prayer? And since I'm ranting - AGAIN, if you want to write about an American MC, then use American vernacular - and that is NOT vests (it's TANK TOP), knickers (PANTIES), lifts (ELEVATORS), ladybits (I DON'T EVEN KNOW WTF THAT'S SUPPOSED TO REP - MAYBE A VAJ?) etc. Not all in this book, but at least a couple of those words in every non-American writer's biker books and it's just lazy. It throws off the entire story when these WTF words come out of nowhere, and I'm sick of it!
I am pretty comfortable with saying this was a 3.5-4 star read for me.
This was a brand new author for me, so it's pretty exciting to see what kind of spins there are going to be. I didn't get automatically sucked in, but it was a very enjoyable read. More of a feeling that this was something new and different over anything else. As an investigative journalist, Zoe's not afraid to go after the stories that are usually buried. She may not be a hardened biker chick, but she's also not afraid to roll with the punches and get her hands dirty. When her sister is reported missing, Zoe knows that she's the only one who might be able to save her from being a statistic. However, as events start to unwind, there's just too many missing pieces to the disappearance puzzle. Enter Storm, the president of the Dark Slayers MC, to save the day, but Zoe is the furthest thing from a damsel in distress. She's just a women on a mission to find her sister at all costs.
I would have rated this a solid 4, as it really was an enjoyable read. There weren't any spots that were slow or boring. The characters were pretty human and didn't make any relatively bonehead descisions. There wasn't any cheating or obscene club girl drama, which doesn't bother me, but I know that triggers some people. A few plot spins to keep you guessing, and a solid mystery who dun it running underneath all of it. You couldn't ask for more. So, why would I have been comfortable leaving a 3.5 if that was an option? It really had to do with the fact that this is being advertised as a MC novel. I love MC books. I devour them and then ask for more stories of the other brothers. If it hadn't been advertised as an MC, then the brothers could have been any club of men. For example, if you didn't know that this was an MC, it could have been military, security, firefighters, or any club of men. I'd probably read the second book though if it comes out.
I was ready to file this as DNF @ 35%, but i kept going. The only reason I kept going is because I wasn't at home and didn't want to deal with figuring out what to read next. I was going to have to write a review either way. This book is not good. Aside from formatting issues i have, the writing was all over the place, as well. Since I did actually finish it, I will give it an extra star, even though I don't want to. So, it will have 2 (since you can't actually give 0 stars). Not only do we have yet another book with an entire blank line spacing between every paragraph, but you add in a story break on top, and you end up with 1/3-1/2 of a page blank every time. So rather than 300 pages, you actually have about 200 pages of real content.
The writing style is everywhere. There are so many missing details that could help the story, and at the same time, so many unnecessary details. Not to mention, the jumps in time that happen randomly. I couldn't get a grasp of what was going on at the concert. But then the next page it was over and everyone was back home. Then, throw in a new person at the end suddenly that is responsible for everything... it was not done well.
The banter between the two is high school level dialog, and there isn't any real connection between them that I could feel. I couldn't even figure out why he was so taken with her. Her parents are more like OTT caricatures rather than actual people. Actually, now that i think about it, that really describes everyone in this book. OTT with no real depth to them.
I was excited to start this series as i was looking forward to a good long MC series, but that wont be happening now. I'm shocked this series is as long as it is, if they are all like this. I will not read this book again, and I'm not going to continue the series. I just can't do it.
I really want to read a good Mc book, but I’m about to give up hope of finding one.
The plot in this book is crazy. Zoe is a blogger who writes articles. She doesn’t check her facts and just prints a load of rubbish. When she writes a trash piece on a local Mc club, she doesn’t have any clue about them at all. When Zoe’s sister is kidnapped and she’s one of many that have disappeared. Breaker from the Mc clubs son has also disappeared from the same college. After reading one of her articles online, they think she can somehow help. HOW??? So they come up with a plan, that Zoe will be Storm’s fake old lady. WHY?? They decide that they can find out what happened, and don’t go to the police, as they don’t want to know. 😱😱😱
Omg I can’t believe this book!!! So the next few days are filled with nobody doing anything. Apart from some serious chemistry between Storm and Zoe. But they won’t talk about it, like adults do!! So they both think the other one doesn’t want them. 😱 The Mc club seems to speak to a few people, but THAT’S IT!! A few threatening letters come from the kidnappers, wanting money. Everyone seems to spend a lot of time crying, but not doing anything. Storm acts hostile towards Zoe because he thinks she’s judging them. So the bunnies think it’s okay to verbally attack her.
I just don’t understand the point of this book. Nothing makes sense. And I’m supposed to believe that the kidnappers are just sat waiting for the money?? While they’re running around doing nothing!!!
(Storm & Zoe): kidnapping, human trafficking. College age kids in town are going missing. Zoe is a reporter who has been following the stories but when the story hits closer to home she has to dig a bit deeper. Storm is the club president for the Dark Slayers MC, and his club brother Breaker had just found out that his son is also missing. The club is doing what they can to find him but they need help. They contact Zoe not knowing she's in the same predicament. Breaker thinks that if Zoe pretends to be Storm's old lady, it'll help hide her in plain sight and she can get closer to those who might have answers to get questions and help find both of whom they love. Here's where the book gets a little iffy for me. There's a point in the story where it stops being so much about trying to find the victims and becomes more about developing a relationship between the characters. Since this is a Romance book, that's all well and good but it feels almost like you're here getting off with this hot biker and your loved one and one of theirs is missing. I wish there was more investigation into where the victims were, how they were taken, and why. More about the people who took them. I just felt like it could've been so much more. However, what I did read, I did enjoy and the plot twist was so disrespectful, in a good way. I'm hoping the next books in the series are much better though.
What a great start to another series by Aria Ray. Aria Ray is quickly becoming a favorite of mine and I am looking forward to reading more from her. This is the story of Storm and Zoe. Storm is the president of the Dark Slayers MC. Zoe is a journalist of sorts and writes all types of articles in her town – the things that other people won’t write about or check into. Zoe has written an article about the Dark Slayers based on what she thought. Storm does not like Zoe at all, but when the Dark Slayers need answers when Breaker’s son goes missing and soon after Zoe’s sister Allison goes missing as well, they are all each other have to find them. Zoe learns that you can’t judge a book by its cover and Storm learns that it’s ok to let someone in.
There is drama, betrayal, passion, and finding out what really matters. I cannot wait for the next book to come out to see what happens next in the MC world of the Dark Slayers. I would love to read more about Breaker, Grit, and Teeny. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Local blog journalist Zoe Leigh’s requests to interview Dark Slayers MC are ignored until Breaker, the VP’s collegiate son goes missing and Prez Storm is skeptical Zoe could get information they cannot. Zoe’s family drama is in turmoil since her is in constant meltdown since her dad left. Now Zoe’s college aged sister is missing.
Soon after, Zoe’s dad gets a ransom note for her sister. Surprisingly, Breaker calls Zoe about his missing son as she’s reading an article about it. Zoe meets with Breaker and Storm share an immediate attraction and they offer a bargain. When her family receives a second ransom note, Zoe agrees to pretend to be Storm’s woman.
To my taste, this outing failed on several key pieces, (i.e, overall logic, the ‘He: let’s humiliate her. She: okay, he’s so sexy/I’m a slave to my hormones; the MC’s goal vastly differs from prequel and; she couldn’t stop fitting everything to fit her family life) that partnered making this difficult (for this reader) to continue reading. Rating: 1.75stars
Not one of my favourites if I'm being honest. I wanted to love it, MC's are one of my favourite tropes, and yes maybe I was comparing it to some of my favourites, hello Nicole Jacquelyn 'The Aces MC' -OMG - but I just couldn't get into it. I think mainly becuase I had a hard time building a connection with the characters in this book, leads included. Again, maybe that's in part due to the fact I just didn't overall feel a connection with the story itself. I'm attracted to stories that are able to put me in it if that makes sense. I want to feel what the characters are feeling, I want to live where the characters live, I am all about tagging along for the ride, and I just didn't get that with this read unfortunately. But please, don't let my opinion stray you from giving this book a go, a lot of people have starred it a 5 star, and hey, different strokes for different folks people. This is soley just one opinion from little old me.
Zoe was a small town journalist trying to break the undiscovered stories and had focuses one on the local Dark Slayers MC. when children in the town start to go missing , Zoe's sister included there is only group she could go to for help, as it turns out they needed hers too. Storm the pres of Dark Slayers was dead set against using a journalist who slandered the MC but she became something more than useful to the MC and to him. His idea to pretend for Zoe to become his old lady was becoming something real, that neither could deny but when its all over will they be too? well written book 1 in a new series that starts with a bang! engaging characters and a story line that has you hooked from page 1, with suspense, desires, action, twists and more!

Zoe is a reporter and she wants to speak to the Dark Slayer’s MC to write a follow up piece on them that will also reflect their input. However the first article was not received well, Storm the Prez wants nothing to do with her or her type. With a rash of students missing from the local college Zoe knows something is up, when her sister goes missing she will do anything to get her back. Even if that means working with the MC. Will Storm help out the nosy reporter or let her fend for herself. Will the club help her out with one of their own missing as well? Read on to find out.
This was a new author to me as well as book one in the series. The story and characters were great. Can’t wait to read more from this author.

This is a good start to a new MC series. Zoe investigates happenings and reports on her findings. She wants to interview the Dark Slayers MC for a follow up. She did a scathing article on them so they aren’t eager to talk to her. When her sister Alison goes missing, and she sees a pattern that most of the missing men and woman are from the same college, she needs help. When Breaker’s son is missing too,he wants to work with her to find his son. Storm is the Prez f the MC and isn’t too happy to be working with Zoe by faking a relationship with her. A good storyline that keeps your interest with dangerous moments, suspense, twists and turns, steamy romance and in answered questions. I enjoyed it and am anxious for Breaker’s story.

Accessible book, reads well. To find her kidnapped sister, Zoe seeks the help of the Dark Slayers mc. The son of one of the members of this MC has also disappeared, and perhaps the two cases are related. Zoe enters into a fake relationship with Storm, the president of the MC, to cover up her frequent visits. Only, the fake relationship will soon look real. The origin of this relationship is described very quickly, I could have liked that a little more extensively. The characters are well described, their vulnerability is revealed. Her sister is found, but the son of MC member Breaker is not. Probably/hopefully in a future story?

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! Zoe wrote an article about the MC and their doings but when the cops fail at getting her sister, she has one choice to go to the very man she wrote the article about. Storm agrees to help her find her sister under one condition she be his women (pretend of course) but the chemistry is so intense, the magnetic pull can’t be ignored but can he keep her safe, will he find her sister and somewhere along the way find happiness?
Storm ( Dark Slayers MC, Book 1) By Aria Ray. 5 Stars*****
Sweet!!! Storm is Freaking Awesome!
Gritty Tension filled Excitement and Drama fill these pages and a simmering romance thats ooh la la worthy.
MC president Storm and reporter Zoe take the readers on a journey that has them dealing with missing people, ransom demands, family troubles and neither will stop till they discover the truth.
I have no doubt you'll be just as engrossed with their story as I was. I have voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving a review for it. Reviewer for Nook Books and More Blog

The reason I even gave this 2 stars is because the writing itself was good. The plot had real potential and from the blurb I was really looking forward to this.
I knew from the first 2 chapters this was going to be an instant love story, which I don’t *always* have a problem with if done well. However, in this case I felt that the connection between the two MC’s just lacked everything.
Zoe & Storm barely said a sentence to each other and was already head over heels. There was just nothing to make you fall in love with them either.
I don’t feel like this was a long book but it did take me the longest to finish it. I just kept putting it down!
Right now I don’t think I’ll continue with the series. Will I come back to it in the future? Probably not.
Holey. That is the main take away from this tale. It's not bad, she needs help. He's willing to help on his terms. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. SPOILERS********************** Zoe claims to be an investigative Vlogger. Yet she has no contact within her local police department. Her sister and her are uber close and goes to the local college. She doesn't know who her sister hangs out with. When her sister is taken she doesn't look for any cameras in the area or on the path to and from her sister's phone. She never hands her sister's phone over to the hacker for it to have it's location history checked. End of SPOILERS********* This may seem picky but there is a series written around these characters and if the foundation sucks then the entire series will. Details are important.
I read this a couple days ago and it didn't leave much of an impression on me. I remember the plot, which was decent enough but it didn't feel like a very satisfying conclusion. More like it was coming to the end of the book and things had to be wrapped up without much thought for why. The romance was alright, a good tension built between them and it was very well paced unlike the plot. But what let it down for me is there was so little MC content. For an MC romance, there was no sense of found-family or that commeradery and bonding. The closest bit to typical MC was the terratorial club girls who isn't an ol' lady but wants to be. But that's it. It just felt like the president didn't even really want to run his own MC. Just a little disappointing.
Okay. This is another series by this author and I was holding me. It was going to start all like the other one did. It was wrong and kind of wasn't into this book. Unlike the other series she wrote. This one it was like the Characters didn't really grasp me like the other ones did. I don't know, maybe it almost the storyline. Granton. I felt like the storyline and plot was good. But the two missing cans didn't really go Together I start my phone like it was just or one storyline and it wasn't good. Don't get me wrong but it was kind of blah. I felt it didn't have any excitement. These characters are boring. They don't suck you in at all.
