What's a witch to do when faced with protecting the ones she loves against an unimaginable evil?
Ever had one of those days when everything is going too well? When you have that sense that the other boot is about to drop? Welcome to my day.
It's the Annual Saltwater Cove Show, and this year there are more rides, show bags, food stalls, and competitions than ever before. Witches from worlds near and far have descended to try their hand at winning the prestigious Witch Wonder Trophy for best witch baker.
When Seraphina Morgan from the Coven of the Night Moon turns up dead, all avenues lead to last year's reigning champion, Aunt Edie, as the guilty party. Dark magic is lurking, and I'm determined to get to the bottom of it and clear Aunt Edie's name before the unthinkable happens, and she's found guilty. Enlisting the help of my two best friends and drop-dead greek-god gorgeous boyfriend, we set about finding the real killer before Aunt Edie's goose is cooked. Or pie is baked as the case may be.
If you like witty witches, talking cats, and magical murder mysteries, then step into the fun and flirty romantic paranormal cozy mystery world of the Melting Pot Café series where the spells are flowing, and the adventure is sure to leave you craving more.
Polly Holmes is the cheeky alter ego of Amazon best-selling author, P.L. Harris. When she's not writing her next romantic suspense novel as P.L. Harris, she’s planning the next murder in one of Polly's mysteries.
Polly’s award-winning Cupcake Capers Series is rich in storyline and location with characters that stay with you long after you turn the last page. She publishes her cozy mystery books with Gumnut Press. Pumpkin Pies and Potions is the first in her new paranormal cozy series.
Cupcakes and Corpses was a finalist in the Oklahoma RWA’s 2019 IDA International Digital Awards, short suspense category. Cupcakes and Curses claimed second place and Cupcakes and Cyanide gained third place making it a clean sweep in the category.
Evelyn's all set to enjoy the Annual Saltwater Cove Show with her new boyfriend and celebrate with the winner for this year's coveted best witch baker trophy. The last thing she expected was to be on the case of a murder where the prime suspect is her beloved aunt. But things aren't as they seem in Saltwater Cove. None of the witnesses are telling the truth. Harriet's visions of the future are unclear. And something's up with Jordi. One thing's for certain. Evelyn's not letting anyone frame her aunt.
This might be my favourite cozy mystery so far. The twists and turns, the red herrings... I was so sure I knew who the murderer was, but nope. Best of all, this book had all the romantic moments I wanted to read right where they belong. I loved it. And I can't wait to see what's next. :)
Another wonderful book in this awesome series. Polly Holmes is a amazing author and I highly recommend reading any or all of her wonderful books... Loved reading this one...
As much as I love Polly Holmes writing and the plots of the Melting Pot Cafe series, the excess of "sweet romance" and the internal dialogues of the main characters that make her look like a six years old insecure brat, are too much to digest. This story is not particularly exciting in terms of whodunnit, but has its moments with the overall arc. The lack of proper editing (few events are introduced multiple times to everyone "surprise") and proofreading is another painful note. Not to skip but don't expect too much.

this just wasnt really the book for me. i didnt have super high hopes, but i thought it had an interesting idea and premise. i just didnt really care for it. the characters and general plot jsut didnt really work for me. this movie wasnt really bad. it just wasnt what i hoped it would be. i think this could definitely be for a lot of people, but not for me, my loves. the writing style was pretty good, it was consistent and pretty much what i wanted, btu mixed with some underwhelming charcaters, i didnt enjoy reading. check it out anyway, because what isnt for me, may be for you.
This is the 3rd book in the series. Another murder, more info on the big baddie in the background. More romance, though it was more in another direction then I had thought it would be. Our lead female heroine continues to grow in power and uncover the past of the murder of her parents death. A good read for a cold night. wrap up warm, sit back and enjoy.
I loved Muffins and Magic! Another epic who-done-it leads the spectacular seven on another twist and turn road of who killed Serephina, a visiting witch from a different coven and had entered a baking competition. I promise I won't give any spoilers, so just grab this cozy mystery series! I can't wait to see what happens next!
To the melting pot , how I wish this place was real, I swear it would be such a great place to visit , I am so glad I started reading this series , the adventures and plot twists are amazing , I have yet to get it right , thank you for the great read on to the next book for me
A page turning mystery with characters you want more of
There is an amazing mystery teased throughout this story of obsession and frustrated longing. Will Evelyn find answers to her questions? Will she lean to manage her emotions? Can the whole gang solve the big, underlying mystery? We will just have to stay tuned in to find out.
Really enjoying seeing each of the characters grow within this series! Getting to see the relationships between the grow and flesh out had been awesome as well! Can't wait for the next book downloading it already! Hope you will enjoy the series also!
A captivating novel that breathes life into its characters, weaving an intricate narrative that keeps readers thoroughly engaged. This series offers a compelling journey through richly developed storylines and memorable personalities, creating an immersive reading experience that lingers long after the final page.
A festival, but a couple of murders and a complaint to the witches council don't make for a fun event. There are so many twists and turns it will keep you guessing until the end. Great read.
This book had me on the edge of my seat! I couldn’t put it down! I had to find out who was really committing the murders, because there was no way it was aunt Edie! Then Evelyn’s powers, just wow! Talk about growing! So good!
Yet another spot of murder for our intrepid crew. It starts with extremely poor sportsmanship from the baking competition loser. But there are deeper issues that come to light. The team prevails and find more clues to the big bad evil’s scheme.
Evelyn's story continues in this excellent book. She's in another adventure, but she's determined to solve the issues surrounding her parents' deaths. Recommended!
I liked it, interesting story about a witch becoming a full blown witch with mystery of deaths of fellow witches. Her powers increase to healing, time slow down, not just potions. I like the series and will keep reading them. I recommend an easy read and fun one.
This is book three of The Melting Pot Cafe! These stories just keep getting better and better! Can hardly wait to start reading the next in the series!!
Hi I love your conception but to many chest pains and body parts in there .tone it down . Every once in a while is not bad but not every second sentence.
I am still loving this series as a whole, but this one didn’t have that five star feel to me. I wish it was alittle bit longer so more plot could have been placed. Something just felt slightly off.. but with all that being said, I will be continuing this series definitely
I am enjoying Evelyn’s character development within herself, her family/friends and her romantic relationship. I’m hoping as the series continues, all character will continue to have their own little spotlight to continue their growth.
