Married to the Devil #5

The Fallen Angel's Bride

Rate this book
Getting hitched to a fallen angel in Las Vegas wasn’t in my job description…

When you work undercover for an organisation like The Covenant to protect humanity from the apocalypse, you follow orders. And that includes marrying a sinfully sexy fallen angel called Lock, who also happens to be a King of Hell.

The weird thing is, Lock seems familiar to me, and he acts like we’re meant to be together. He’s also convinced The Covenant aren’t who they say they are. But can I trust a fallen angel with my life or this dangerous, seductive pull between us? Especially when it feels like he’s hiding something . . .

But marrying Lock will ensure my protection when we descend into Hell to put a stop to a heist inside The Inferno. And I’ll need all the protection I can get, because it turns out a human marrying a fallen angel is a big no-no.

So now it’s not just demons after us, but angels, too. Will I be able to protect humanity—and my heart—during our journey to hell and back?

I bought this book on accident, thanks one click.

To start, I've never read another book in this series. Yes, the 5th(?) Book is a strange place to start but it was purchased by mistake. That being said, I had no problem understanding what was happening. I don't know if I'd consider myself the target demographic for a novel of this type but I'm no stranger to romance/erotica. But to me this book was more of a comedy.

I had a blast reading it. Unfortunately, it was more because i enjoyed laughing at the absurdity of it all than good writing, plot or character.

The Fallen Angel's Bride is about a Scottish stereotype named after the Loch Ness Monster "falling in love with" Lara Croft. And by falling in love with I mean having sex with. Nessy is a fallen angel and a king of hell. Lara is his soul mate. If a soul mate was synonymous with whatever the werewolf imprinting in Twilight was. They've apparently spent multiple live together but for whatever reason the most boring one is the one where they're fated to conceive an apocalypse baby which only becomes an issue in the latter half of the book (at which point pregnancy is referenced in such an uncomfortable way, it made me uneasy.) The first half is spent having sex, going to a Spa in hell, going to a mall in hell, going to a restaurant in hell, and going to a Casino in hell (the authors do not know how blackjack is played. Considering it's a huge plot point they should have given it a Google). Then they conceive their apocalypse baby (at which point i realized the authors don't know how conception works. She is pronounced pregnant meer hours after sex), go live in Vermont with Lucifer who is so wonderfully nicknamed LUKE in this series and the book ends.

Would recommend for anyone who likes a good laugh.
Would not recommend for anyone who has a pregnancy phobia, or minds reading about women being only desired as sex objects.

This book is a solid 1 star but gets an extra for how many times it made me laugh out loud.

Also i just noticed the book description is actually wrong. They are sent to pull a heist not stop one. Dunno how such a huge mistake is made tbh

Lock has loved Joan through the ages and lost her innumerable times. Each time she falls for him anew, her memories of him and their time together lost in the ether but he, he remembers and each precious memory is just another knife in his heart. He has fought to keep her each and every time and as with making any bet the house always wins. This time, this time it is going to be different. The stars seem to be aligning but can Lock keep it together when the possibilty of having Joan for the rest of his life is in reach. As for Joan, she feels the most tremendous pull towards Lock, there is just something about him that she cannot put her finger on. She feels like she has known him forever and yet that cannot possibly be the truth. She slowly starts to find out what is at stake and she too has her own bet to make, one that will determine what happens to her soul. Can she make it out alive? Will the third step in the prophecy come to pass?
The love that Lock has for Joan practically jumps off the page. You cannot help but have your fingers crossed the whole way through willing them to be together at the end. A tense read but so worth it. I cannot wait to see how it all turns out.

4⭐️ - I’ve loved Joan and Lock from the beginning, so glad to finally see them get their story. Loving how this prophesy is playing out.

Joan is on a job. She knows she needs to meet her target, marry him, help steal something from Hell, divorce him and be on her way. She does not expect to be so enthralled with her husband-to-be. Lock knows that Joan doesn’t remember him, but he is determined to get her to fall in love with him all over again. After their Vegas wedding, he knows he will do everything in his power to keep her.

Not please with her husband, Joan is torn on what to do. After finding out that she might not be working for the good guys after all, Joan is debating double crossing her employers. They want her and Lock to steal something, but they haven’t specified that it has to be given to them for the contract to be fulfilled. Double crossing them seems more and more desirable when she learns what their true plan is for Lock and Joan, and what will be at stake.

So good. Can’t wait for Ava now to find out how all of this wraps up

Undercover With the Devil . . .

Joan works undercover for The Covenant protecting humanity and strictly following orders. But her new orders say she has to marry a fallen angel, one of three Kings of Hell! She feels like Lock is familiar from someplace, but she can’t think of where. What she doesn’t know is that they do know each other. He meets her, they fall in love, and she dies in his arms, only to be reincarnated and repeat this over and over. This time, he wants to break the cycle and save her.

Lock tries to tell her The Covenant is not to be trusted, but he’s a fallen angel so maybe not a good one to believe. Regardless, marrying him is supposed t protect her on their mission to Hell to stop a heist. And when she finds out a human marrying a fallen angel is not permitted, both of them will have to run for their lives. Will he save her this time? Or will he lose her once more and have to start over?

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW of The Fallen Angel's Bride by Roxie Ray and Skye Wilson. This fifth book of the Married to the Devil series gives us Lock and Joan's reunion. This book is so well written you can't help but find yourself front and center in all the action. After having all her memories of her time in Hell wiped in a deal struck by Heaven and Hell, Joan finds herself embroiled in their business once again. This story has some amazing twists... some you see coming and some not so much! Packed with double edged humor, emotional upheaval, thought provoking theological questions and spicy heat, this read is hard to put down once you begin reading. The plot thickens when the prophecy is finally revealed and the danger ratchets up. While this book has some resolution (Lock and Joan) the underlying storyline does not. It does set up magnificently for the next book!

Joan is undercover for the Covenant and ordered to marry Lock, who turn out to be a fallen angel. Joan finds him familiar and their history starts to unfold with deception and reincarnation. The characters are strong and determined to find a solution this time. The storyline has twists and surprises while the backstories are told. Loved the humor and banter, along with the situations that bring them together more. The ending is another cliffhanger but that is expected as this story unfolds. Can not wait to read the next segment to see what happens.

I love the cover of this book but then Roxie Ray never fails to impress me and I can say that about this story too. Lock a fallen angel loses the love of his life Joan every reincarnation she goes through they meet and fall in love but Joan never remembers Lock she is human and she always dies in his arms to be re born again. This is their story of how they meet again and this time Lock is determined not to lose her again. I loved this story and the characters especially Joan I also loved the Scottish brogue it’s sexy and I definitely recommend this book.

Joan is working undercover for The Covenant following orders and protecting humans. She finds that she has to marry a fallen angel, one of the Kings. Lock is the fallen angel that Joan falls for. This was a really great story. First on I've read in this series. This story has lots going on. There are lots of twists, humor, emotional upset, action, and steamy heat. I couldn't put this story down as it just sucks you in and doesn't let you go. I'll have to check out the other books in this series. It's better to love and lose than never love at all, but what happens when you meet the one again and again but always lose them. Locks a fallen angel and Joan's human. Their story repeating always the same outcome, but this time Locks had enough and he wants his forever to be remembered. Well written great story building and characters development. Filled with suspense desires and more!

Joan his forever love but he keeps losing her when she is reincarnated she does not remember him so he has to win her love. This time he is determined not to lose her once again. Such a good read with passion and suspense!

The Fallen Angel’s Bride (Married to the Devil book 5) is about Lock, the fallen angel in the title, and the love of his life Joan, who always dies in his arms only to be reincarnated and eventually fall in love with him again. The story is about good and evil, and how it’s not always obvious who is good and who is evil, and there are lots of twists and turns before you get to the end of the story. This was a fast paced story and I loved the chemistry and banter between Lock and Joan.

This is the classic story of human marries fallen angel, meets interesting characters, secrets abound, gets in trouble and both sides seem to be after the pair. It was funny with action and danger all over. Made me laugh and kept me entertained and reading to discover what everyone was hiding and how it all fit together. A great addiction to the series and adds so much to it and the end draws near.

Good Book

I have enjoyed this story of Lock & Joan and it’s nice to see most of them all back together and having them interlinked.
I’m not going to lie having to wait a little over 2 months for the last book is annoying and had I realised it wasn’t out I would have waited before I started this series.
It’s my personal preference that I hate waiting for the next book I would rather binge read the series.

I really liked Lock in the beginning of this series so I enjoyed reading his and Joan's story. While this book was not quite as suspenseful as Evie and Luke's at the beginning, it was still full of twists and turns. Needless to say the dirty trio of Zeb, Mannon and Leviathan made an appearance and that is never good news. I found the book and the characters engaging and I felt the pull between our two MCs.

Powerful Couple

This story like the others showed these couples as powerful beings and this one was no exception. Powerful chemistry and rollercoaster ride of events that take you on this couples journey to HEA. This truly had me on the edge of my seat figuring out what was next and you’ll feel it as well. Had some parts that dragged for me but this story was enjoyable nevertheless. Read this and find out!

a good addition

The story of Joan and lock is a good one and a great addition to the series however I felt that the story was a bit bland as we are just moving through the motions of the story and it just left me wanting more. However it is a easy read and definitely one to read to continue the series and the spice level is there just not as much as the first few books it is almost a after thought

Lock & Joan!

Joan has to marry a demon for the next part of her mission for the covenant, she has been working with them for a year now & hope it ends soon. Lock know who he is meeting & is happy to marry Joan, they have been fated since the being of time & this is the first time they have got this far!

Loved the Main Characters

The main characters were very engaging, but the story was lacking. It felt like this was just filler for the series and the story lacked a backbone. I didn’t feel like they had a real reason to continue their charade and it felt like there were several alternatives to avoid fulfilling the prophecy.

Lock and Joanie are the best.

I love how each love story is intertwined with the others, but they all manage to be different types of stories. Joanie is a bad*ss to Lock's warrior king and I am here for it. And that Irish rogue. Whew. Great story. Minimal errors, but enough to lose a star. Can't wait to read the conclusion of this group of fated mates!
