When you fear your life is over, could one person save you from yourself?
Lee’s world is in tatters. Betrayed almost five years ago by two people who meant the world to him. Left alone to deal with his cancer diagnosis. With a crucial medical appointment almost upon him, he visits his sister on Tenerife to forget his predicament for a while. What he doesn’t expect is to meet a woman who rocks his world.
Carmen is hurting. Abandoned by a previous partner at a foreign airport. He burned all her trust in men… until she meets Lee. After taking his number, promising to contact him when he returns to the UK, she discards the number. Afraid to risk getting hurt once more.
When Lee returns to the island for his sister’s engagement, he doesn’t expect to run into the Canarian beauty who left him high and dry. Their mutual attraction reignites, but can they learn to trust each other, or will they be doomed to be just a holiday fling?

My mum read to me from an early age and encouraged me to write my own stories. She was positive I could become a published author. Unfortunately she passed before she could see my dream come true. I still miss her love and friendship. It was the catalyst for me to start writing seriously.

I write paranormal and contemporary romances and romantic comedy.

When I'm not writing I enjoy reading, cinema, live gigs, theatre, keeping fit, travel, Formula One, darts and spending quality time with friends.

This is a slow burn romance between Lee and Carmen. Sparks fly at first sight but both have things to work through. They build a friendship which turns into a sizzling chemistry as they help one another to heal along the way. The author does a terrific job painting her scenes and moving the story quickly and smoothly. I loved reading their story and would recommend this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

Two tormented souls meet, sparks and instant connection but both are wary, so a friendship starts until the flames build and it's either give in or combust. This was often tense and emotional, romantic and sweet, both had things from their pasts and still going on that needed to be resolved but they proved to be the support each needed to heal and deal with everything so they could move into a far brighter future. I loved this story and the characters, I could completely empathise with both and enjoyed how they dealt with all that challenged them. Started 13/8/21 Finished 14/8/21

I fell in love with the first book but the second made my heart beat even more. I loved it from start to finish, and also re-read it because it's phenomenal. Lee and Carmen are meant to be together but their fears only delay the inevitable. A truly fantastic book!

Book two tenerife duet
Lee is on his way to pay a surprise visit to his family hes looking forward to meeting his sister's new partner Eli its his first long holiday in two years working hard as a graphic designer and battling testicular cancer it will be his five years all clear shortly hoping to get a good result not looking for his forever woman hes already been hurt by his partner Jan after she left him for his best friend Jake can he really ever trust a woman again?
Its still raw till he is introduced by Eli to Carmen with a broken relationship of her own
They both find it a hard struggle to commit to each other but there's such a dynamic chemistry between them its not going to be an easy goodbye.
Its such a remarkable moving story that readers will love two people bond together as one. That leaves a feel good touching end.
I do hope there is a book three coming in this series known this remarkable lady and author i hope so .

We're back on sunny Tenerife with book two in Toya Richardson's duet, but this time with Lee and Carmen.

Island Hope starts when Lee first arrives on Tenerife to surprise Sandrine and his parents and to meet the guy who has captured his sister’s heart. What he doesn't expect is for his heart to be captured as well by the lovely Carmen.
They're both feeling a little scared to commit after their past relationships, but when the chemistry is this good should they let fear stand in their way?

I loved Lee and Carmen and I'm so happy we got their story. Their connection is instant and I found myself hoping that they would see they were meant for each other.

This duet is an amazing read, both stories bringing happiness, friendship and love. Do I dare hope for more from the sunny island of Tenerife?

Ok this is book two and in my opinion it was better than book one. It is based around sandrine's brother Lee who comes to tenerife for a short break and to see his sister and then meets his one... Things are not always that straight forward though and both Lee and Carmen have their own issues to work through before they get their Happy ever after. I thought that some of the issues faced were actually written very well and were quite realistic and prevalent for people of today. The setting was written so well I actually felt at times as if I was right there. It was a very easy read and again would recommend to anyone who wants a beach read.

I thought book 1 was good, I feel book 2 was just as good maybe better. Lee and Carmen have both been hurt before, dare they try again! Too many things to keep them apart too many secrets, dare they tell each other their secrets and try and if they do can they be happy? Toya you have done it again. What a fantastic read, as always she would be so proud! Love ya xx

In book one we read the story of Sandrine and Eli, and in this book we meet Sandrine’s brother Lee. Lee has had it tough getting testicular cancer and his best friend and his girlfriend cheating on him. Waiting for his five year check up he gets scared as a couple of friends didn’t make it so he goes to Tenerife to find support with his family. While there he meets Carmen an old friend of Eli’s, but she too has been hurt before. They have an instant connection but are both very wary. This book follows them as you see if the chemistry they feel is enough for them to take the next step or will they walk away afraid of getting hurt once more. It’s a lovely read and it’s so descriptive you can imagine yourself there in the sunshine in Tenerife.
