What do you believe in? You have power, but what will you use it for?
Hunted down by Vincent Reznick’s henchman, Nora Youngblood is forced to flee the only home she’s ever known, while the life of Aidan, the boy she loves, hangs in the balance.
Nora and the wizard, Malachi, escape to Aeraileas seeking the help of the Ashwaken, a council of powerful wizards. But before she can complete their mission, Reznick tracks her down, and she finds herself thrust into a world she knows nothing about.
Throughout her journey there, Nora learns to be strong and face danger head-on. With newfound determination, she must find the next piece of the Morrigan, a powerful weapon, before Reznick can, and risk everything, including her life, to save Aidan, her friends, and the people of her world.
A.M. Albaugh is a photographer, writer, and programmer. She takes her research for writing maybe a little too seriously - she hiked Trolltunga (Norway) in snow, sleet, and rain, took a Krav Maga class, and loves to travel.
This is the second book in the Grim Nora series. The story ramped up and how! I had also read and reviewed the first book in the series.
I really liked the first book, and the only minor concern I had was that the pacing wasn't the best. In this book, I am pleased to say it has definitely improved quite a bit. Similarly, the character development was equally realistic and interesting, and deeper than surface level insights. You can see that Albaugh has gotten even better with this book, and I love love love it so much when an author I enjoy grows as a writer and it reflects in their next books. I can't wait to see what's in store for Nora's future!
As for the story line - more characters, larger story arcs, multiple worlds, and really cool "side quests" for our lead character Nora make this a wonderfully engaging read. Fast paced in all the right ways, I breezed through this over the course of a weekend. I also enjoyed reading about Koneko, Connor, Aidan and Kabos. Gavin's compass was a pretty important character too!
A.M Albaugh brings to us a story full of characters with supernatural powers, a sweet innocent teenage love story, and lots of twists and turns and thrill. What else we need?
The story revolves around Nora Youngblood, who has a Morrigan inside her now, a very powerful and deadly weapon. The thing is that Nora have to learn to control it or else if the Morrigan overpowers her she will become a bloodthirsty person. Malachi, a wizard is helping her in her journey. Adian, the boy she loves is also a wizard( on his journey to become one) but there is a prophecy that if he remains close to her, he couldn't become a great wizard.
What makes such stories good? A great villain, and this story has a really great villain. Vincent Reznick, the owner of the most powerful company in the world, wants the Morrigan on his side. He has sent his men to find Nora, Nora in order to be safe escapes from her hometown with Malachi. She now needs to find the other piece of Morrigan to defeat Reznick. Will she be able to do that?
The story is fast-paced and intriguing, at the start one may feel like what is going on but as the story unfolds everything is clear and thrill is the only feeling you get throughout the book. The character development is great, how a naive and scared girl becomes a powerful fighter is the best thing.
Every lover of Fantasy and thriller genre will love it and they should definitely try this.
"Grim Nora and the Sign of the Ouroboros" is the second book that I have read penned by A M Albaugh. Main character of the story is Nora Youngblood. She is back on the Argo Navis and she met Aidan and her friends. Aidan Woulfe is an orphan boy from Ireland with healing powers who helped Nora develop her magic skills and taught her how to fight.
When the warlock kidnapped Raynor, Nora stepped up to save her brother. Vincent Reznick, who owns Oculus, the most powerful company in the world, is after the Morrigan. Kabos was just his pawn. Malachi told Nora that they may need to leave Crimson Falls soon. Nora is hiding the truth from Raynor that she is connected to the Morrrigan. Nora wants Aidan to be focused on becoming a wizard. What Nora is gonna do to save the people of her world? Will she be able to prevent Reznick from getting hands on the next clue that will lead to Morrrigan.
This is a great read. Cover photo looks attractive. Pace of the story is fine. The story is full of action from page 1 so fantasy readers won't be bored at all while reading this. Language used in the book is lucid and I was able to follow the story easily. Narration is so strong that I forgot the outer real world around me and was totally into the story. I enjoyed the writing of Albaugh and I am looking forward to reading more of the author's work in the future.
After reading "Grim Nora and the Secret of the Skull", I was much curious to read the next book "Grim Nora and the Sign of the Ouroboros". This book also takes readers on the adventures with Nora Youngblood. Nora has estranged, older brother Raynor who became her guardian after their father's death. Raynor didn't hesitate to risk his life to save Nora's life. Now, Nora has to do the same. She has to save her brother's life. Nora travels with the wizard Malachi. She has to find the next piece of the Morrigan, a powerful weapon that Reznick is also looking for. Reznick is not like warlock Kabos. Reznick is more cunning and powerful so Nora has to be more careful. What's gonna happen when Nora will be in the unfamiliar world. The characters of this story felt real. Nora and Raynor's siblings bond reminded me of my bond with my sibling. Nora's strength and wisdom will motivate the readers to be like her. Aidan's nature is impressive. Everyone loves to be around a person with positive affirmations and Aidan has that quality. Looking forward for another adventure by A M Albaugh.
What would you choose to read if I give you an option among a love story, a magical story or a story of a powerful woman? Difficult, right? What if I make it easy for you and you don’t have to choose and you’d read it all? Sounds confusing? It really isn’t. This book is specially written for book readers like you.
This is a story of a powerful girl, Nora, who lives in magical times and has fallen in love with a boy and ran away in love. Meanwhile, her plan failed and she got caught. However, this is not the only struggle or twist in the story. The girl has to save her loved ones from the evil guy by acquiring a magical tool. Would that be enough to conquer the evil and save everybody?
This is really an interesting tale. The main character, Nora, grew significantly in the book and embrace her true self. This book would interest all the fiction loving fans and would trigger their inner wizard. I really loved the book. Excellently written and easy to comprehend. Teens and adults would love it undoubtedly.
