Abigail’s clock is ticking. I can’t wait to see if they will save her in time?

Abigail fascinated me in book one of this series, and I came to love her. She once led people away from temptation by showing them the way out of the doomed city, but now she is being held captive in that very city. There are so many obstacles to overcome to save Abigail. I read the entire book in one day because I was dying to know if Abigail would be saved before her clock ran out.

As a reviewer, I received a free ebook copy of At War With the Wind: the Fight for Abigail by D. Richard Ferguson. This is the sequel to Escape From Paradise, and this is my honest review.

I found the beginning of this book a little slow, and at first I thought it was going to be too much like Escape From Paradise. But after just a few chapters, things picked up and became very interesting and intense. This book focused on the same handful of main characters, but also added a couple new ones. The story line went even deeper than the story line of Escape From Paradise.

Abigail was in grave danger in this book. As her friends went to her aid, they stepped into danger as well. Abigail’s predicament kept me turning page after page to see how things would turn out.

One scene in this book really stood out to me and included a quote that resonated so deep with me that I wrote it down to keep to encourage me and to share with others. These books are definitely worth reading.

I have to say that D. Richard Ferguson is an outstanding author and I highly recommend these two books to anyone who longs for a story that expresses truth and hope. And if you enjoy stories filled with adventure and suspense, these books are for you. If you’re a fan of Pilgrim’s Progress by Paul Bunyan, these books will also become favorites.

I give At War With the Wind: the Fight for Abigail 5 stars.

Biblical Truth Wrapped in Mystery, Action, and Suspense

There is a whole invisible world out there that almost everyone ignores. But it has significant impact on every person’s life.

My purpose is writing Escape from Paradise and the At War with the Wind was to take some of the most profound truths I have learned from God's Word over the past 40 years and put them into a form that captures the imagination and imprints those truths on the reader's soul. I initially wrote the book for myself, to help me remember the things I had learned. But I also pray that God will use these books to do in the hearts of many others what he has done in me.

This series vividly paints pictures of the many ways God cares for us and what we have to look forward to when we enter true paradise! At War With The Wind continues the story, keeping me up reading late into the night to see how my new friends fare and causing me to see God's promises and amazing love in a new light. The last few chapters are simply beautifully written! If you are a Christian, I think you will really like this story, and if you are curious, I think you might find it to be an interesting glimpse at God's love!

At War with the Wind completes the story set forth in the first book Escape from Paradise. This time the allegory focuses on struggles common to Christians who are trying to continue in the faith to include ongoing struggles with sin, temptation, discontent, and conflicts within the church body. The story encouraged me by reminding me that we all struggle through various challenges in life, everyone goes through things and I don’t need to pretend to be perfect.

I appreciated book one in this series, but I loved this second and final book. This two part series has earned a spot on My Favorites shelf next to John Bunyon's " The Pilgrims Progress", "The Chronicles of Narnia" by C.S. Lewis and "Hinds Feet On High Places" by Hannah Hurnard. I highly recommend to everyone.

Too Many Problems

As a reader, when I read a fiction analogy I expect a good fiction story that respects the source material. In this book I did not find a good story. There was little world building, no real character development and it had a chopped writing style. The attempt at making this an analogy was to take standard people, places and things from the Christian source material and change the names. So the story failed in both parts. I encourage Richard. to study basic fiction writing with an eye toward the problems listed above. Further, I suggest Richard to read other Christian analogies such as the White Road Tales by Jackie Castle and The Light of Edion by Karen Hancock.
