A personal resonance of poetry and short stories written by a hopeful and sometimes disappointed writer. This book unearths her hidden thoughts including love, life and words. As well as a glimpse into fiction of the bittersweetness of love, a heist in the name of justice, a dream snatched away, a new beginning and experiencing spring in Japan. This book is a tribute to all the unreadable notions straight from the depth of her mind being played as the pages flicker away.
Naadhira has been writing since she was 15 and has never stopped. She spends most of her time getting sucked in books and daydreaming about fictional characters. She’s a lover of words and languages and aspires to make all her dreams come true, specifically to publish all her stories. She can also be found on Bookstagram, Twitter and Blog at @legenbooksdary
Flipping through the pages, I found myself being transported back to the moment of reading in the train and I miss that.
As unique as the title, it really matched as all of the poems were the kind of unspoken thoughts that were too complicated to be uttered.
That was the reason why we wrote poetry. To express the unspoken words and thoughts that no one could understand.
The language written was a simple one yet it bore different kinds of meanings and interpretations to different readers.
I always believed that poetry speaks to the soul, and I was glad that I was able to comprehend and relate to most of the poems.
It spoke of dreams, life in essence, political turmoil, the struggles to be the best daughter, and love. The short stories were of the rollercoaster of emotions and I wish there was more.
There were 5 sections altogether comprised of ; Hidden, Love, Life, Words, and A Glimpse into Fiction
Of all the sections, I personally liked Life and Words. For the short stories, I liked Infatuation and Justice the most.
Congratulations to Naadhira and keep up the good work! Million thanks to you for sending me this copy and also to @untitledbc for this opportunity to be a part of the book tour☺️
It's always so hard to be a honest reviewer, a writer who knows how hard it is to put your heart out there into and a friend to the writer of the book.
These collection of poems are very personal. I applaud the writer for being vulnerable, nothing gets harder than that. I just also happen to not be a fan of diary-like poems. So it just wasn't for me.
But I did love the short stories. The open endings? Perfect, I love them.
She has amazingly poured her hard work, dedication and heart into her debut novel. It felt so personal, emotional and so much passion through her words. I could relate in some of her writings and some of them give me a glimpse of her life she went through.
This book made me feel so many feelings inside. My heart tingled and sank and fluttered all while reading this book.
Having suffered–and survived heartbreak myself, I found Naadhira's sublime words to resonate with me very much. It hit deep and hard inside, bringing me back the pain and heartache I had felt many moons ago.
As I went through the intricately-chosen words of the author's, from words to lines to paragraphs to chapters, it seemed as though she knew what I was struggling with. Even though I damn well knew that she wrote this book based on her own experiences and struggles. But the words–they still hit deep.
From disappointment to love to heartbreak to familial problems to current issues–Naadhira seemed to tackle each topic flawlessly, which proves that she indeed is an amazing writer.
All in all, I love how much this book spoke to me. And I look forward to reading more of her works in the future.
Indecipherable is a poetry and short stories collection written by Naadhira Zahari. This is her first self-published book.
Indecipherable consists of 5 parts which are hidden, love, life, words and a glimpse into fiction (short stories). I honestly loved every poems in hidden and some in love. It's crazy when I read the poems they felt so relatable to me. So, Naadhira thank you for writing such beautiful poems. It felt like finally someone gets me and know how it feels being a daughter and being push to do something.
Putting emotions in writing is not easy. I loved every choice of words that Naadhira used in her poems and I wish I get to read more on her fiction because in a glimpse into fiction they are very very short.
Congrats, Naadhira. I really loved Indecipherable. Thank you for sending me the ARC (sort of) too.
This beautiful poetry book is a debut by Naadhira Zahari. This poetry book have five parts which is Hidden, Love, Life, Words & A glimpse into fiction(short stories).
When I read through the poems, I honestly feel like tabbing most of it. I love every words in here. Indecipherable…there are words meant to say out loud but there are also words that are hard to be said out loud. Naadhira’s poems in here are so easy to understand & it’s so meaningful. It feels even closer to me when she mentioned the struggles of being a daughter . The heartbreaks someone faced in their life also felt so heartbreaking and makes me want to hug someone who felt so disappointed.
These are some of my fav poem from this book : One Of You, You & Me Against The World, To All The Fictional Boys I’ve Loved Before & The Unknown Future. Naadhira truly have a talent here! I love all the poems and the short stories, I thought it’ll be cute lovey story but woopsie😳that’s a thriller there. Looking forward for more works by Naadhira.
Manifesting everyone to read it so that you can decipher my thoughts on this Indecipherable book 😂
Pardon my indecipherable handwriting, please do not zoom into the book haha
I came in blind No expectation To what Indecipherable holds
Hidden, Love, Life and Words All scattered Beautifully Words by words
An avalanche of heartbreaks And pain Safely Hidden For those who couldn’t utter Those sacred words But, Naadhira did
Love are full of longing Finding the right piece To the jigsaw, one called heart
Life started with Hope, Truly abstract Touching religion and reality But Corruption, amused me For Naadhira dare To say it loud
Words came closer to us The bookstagrammers Or so we called
Taking A Glimpse Of What’s been served at the end I was played Genuinely For I expected romance And all mushy But I came out seeing Realm of underworld And the talent Of one hidden gem
Well done Naadhira Zahari for your first book! Seeing so much potential here, I especially need more of the short stories 🤩 And thank you @untitledbc for the opportunity to join this tour!! 😘
Flew through this in a whimmmmm. Loveeee how relatable this was!!
Personally, I think Naadhira’s flair of words for short stories has captured me more than she did for poetry. I demand a book of short stories pretty please!!
3.5! I felt the poems read a bit more like essays, which is fine(!!), but I really enjoyed her short stories more and am excited to see what else she writes!
Firstly , I just want to say that I am happy that I’ve pre-ordered this book. Oh dear , Naadhira . Along the way, while reading this pretty book. I keep on smiling as the book really resembles you ❤️ . I really happy and proud of you. 🥰
Let’s talk about this pretty book shall we ? 🤗Indecipherable is a compilation of poetry and short stories which consists 5 chapters - Hidden , Love , Life , Words and A glimpse into fiction ( short stories ) .
Everything just beautifully written and I can feel the emotions , the souls , the thoughts that been expressed through it . I believe , every part of the poetry relatable to us . 😊
My most favourite poetry chapters are “Life” and “Words” .
In “Life” poetry : It cover about chapter of life . The struggle , the hope , dream , happiness , seek for knowledge and faith . It also express about the current issue, political issue and stand for women rights . 💪🏻
In “ Words “ poetry : I believe every booklovers and writers will love this chapter . It really talk about love towards book . The feelings of booklovers . How through reading and writing really give us joy and happiness . Undoubtedly , books is one of our comfort zone and escapism . ❤️📖
After those beautiful poetry chapters, I did not believe how the twist would be on the short stories chapter . Tbh, every stories I really need more but I still glad for the ending of those short stories . Among the 6 stories , of course my most favourite one is the “ Spring in Japan” story. I love spring season, cherry blossom/sakura and the vibes in Japan . Hence , the chapter makes me eager to visit Japan again. 👘🌸 ❤️
Congratulations again Naadhira for your book. Thank you for writing this beautiful book. Keep on writing and inspiring . ❤️ . Rating : 4/5 🌟
📖 You can get the book on her shopee shop link on her bio .
I've enjoyed her short stories alot more than her poems. The poems are a little bit too literal at the moment, they feel like drafts straight from a personal journal. Looking forward to a book of short stories in the future! Congratulations on your achievement, you should be very proud of yourself. 😊
When I first read Naadhira's manuscript as a beta reader, I fell in love with it in a split second 💘 Despite the light poetry that can be read in a relaxing pace, I felt like there were many layers and depth to certain poems that made me wish I can devour them whole.
I found myself shedding tears when reading several poems that I resonated strongly with. I know you're not sorry for it, Naad 👀😂 Indecipherable is separated into five parts, and here are my thoughts on them:
🌼 hidden The first part of Indecipherable is definitely my favourite. There were so many poems that I could relate to, and this was where I cried a lot. I love that it started with poems that sound hopeless, but gradually changing to uplifting ones.
🌼 love Reading this part makes me want to fall in love and be in love with someone 🥺💕 am I lonely or this book is making me feel lonely?
🌼 life This part feels more personal to the author. I feel like I'm able to know more about Naadhira's viewpoints. Shoutout to Women, We Are for being so powerful! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
🌼 words This part is short but it mentions about books and writing, making it very meaningful. And my inner aghase is screaming at An Ode to GOT7!! 💚
🌼 a glimse into fiction The final part of Indecipherable is a collection of short stories, and I'm living for it. All of Naadhira's short stories made me want to scream I want more because YES I WANT MORE! 'Infatuation' holds a special place in my heart because I love the creepy tones of it 🖤
At this point, it's rather obvious how much I love Indecipherable. Don't get me started on how beautiful the cover is 😩💖 Naad, remember how I said I'll give your book another 5 stars? Well, I've decided to give you all the stars in the entire galaxy just for you 💖💖💖 I'M SO PROUD OF YOU
I feel like me and the author have the same life. We have same hidden thoughts, the love lives, the words, the path of our lives. Sometimes it feels like I’m reading my own diary that I used to write back when I’m diligent enough to actually write my own thoughts. I am not lying when I say I hugged this book a lot.
Usually poems have differents meanings depends on the reader, but for Indecipherable, you’ll know the messages that Naadhira wants to deliver as the words is simple and straight forward yet so meaningful.
My favourite part of this book is probably ‘hidden’. Just with her simple words, it’s enough to give me these weird feelings deep in my heart. It just screams relatable. I feel like everyone can relate to since she talks about the struggles that most people have been through atleast once in their lives like heartbreaks and the struggles of being a daughter.
This book has a huge turn with the short stories. I thought it would be some cute and light reads but yeah, I’m 100% wrong. If I would describe the poetries and the short stories in emojis, it would like this
Poetry: ☀️😢💔🌧✨ Short story: 🖤😈💀🔪⚫️
And please, why does it have to be short stories? I WANT MORE OKAY. Everything is just written and sums up perfectly. Just with a few pages, it’s enough to give me the thrill, suspense, shock.
My favourite poem will be Fight For Your Own Happiness and for the short story, I really really love Justice. (If there would be a longer version of Justice, I will get it straight away)
What is your comfort book? Most of my comfort books are poem book. I’m beyond happy to receive Indecipherable by Naadhira Zahari.
Hidden 🗃 I can feel the raw emotions she tried to express here. Life full of expectation and disappointment regardless of any situation. We often feel it is so heavy in our heart. Sometimes, we just need poems to express that out. To feel that we are not alone. Someone out there feel the same but they just dont know how express it.
Love ❤️ The beautiful love in the poems warm my heart. It can never be too cliché for any love.
“You and me against the world”
Life 🎀 I can feel the struggle of life here. But I love who she turns that to self love, empowering our own self, celebrate people around you and being grateful to Allah
Words 💌 This dedication to readers and writers is everything! I’m not an author but I do find solace in writing down my thoughts and even though they are just words. Scrambled. In lines, paragraphs and undefined.
“Go Away, I’m reading
I’m just a bookworm who breathes reading, hoping for everyone to leave me alone.”
A glimpse into fictions I like the little surprise I found the stories. I would love to read the continuation of the stories.
Thank you so much author for sending me this beautiful book ❤️
I personally loved how relatable this book is. First of all, can I just say how beautiful the cover is? Also, the title of the book is perfect.
Naadhira writes about topics like first love, family, introversion, life transitions, and more in Indecipherable.
“Feelings and emotions disguises and denials shyness and boldness quarrels and make ups are included in the package of being in love. You may not have expected it to come together but it is not sold separately.”
My favourite chapters are Love and Life, and I related to and loved every single poem about introversion in Hidden. Moreover, the fact that God and religion are mentioned in several poems is refreshing.
“I put my faith in Him from going astray in this temporary oasis fighting for a bigger cause for life in the hereafter.”
The book ends with a chapter of six diverse and suspenseful short stories, my only wish is that they had happier endings. My favourites are Infatuation, A Dream and Spring in Japan. I’d love to read a novel by the writer someday.
Congratulations Naadhira on your debut book and thank you for making it possible to send Indecipherable to Kuwait!
Indecipherable is a debut by Naadhira Zahari. This book have five parts which is Hidden, Love, Life, Words and A Glimpse into Fiction (short stories)
Indecipherable spoke of heartache, pain, hope, dreams, political turmoil, familial issues, books and more. It's a light poetry that can be read in a relaxing pace but still have that many layers and depth of emotions.
I personally love how relatable this book is. I find myself wanting to tab most of it to the point I gave up tabbing to just focus on reading the book. It's hard to choose a favourite but Hidden and Life held a special place in my heart.
There are words that I wanted to say out loud but never had the courage to say it and I found myself reading it through this book. It feel so meaningful and the words are simple and easy to understand.
For A Glimpse into Fiction, I DID NOT SEE THIS ONE COMING. I won't be choosing a favourite Simply because I LOVE all of it. I would love to read more of this short stories or maybe a novel, if it's not too much to ask <3
In conclusion:
The poetry: 💔🥺🥰🤍☁️ or in other words, it gave me heartbreaks, hope, love, reassurance and very relatable.
The short story: 🖤💀💣🤯👀🔪 The plot twist that I never could have guess. It's creepy and I LOVE IT. I live for this short stories 🖤
CONGRATSSSSSSS I WANNA SAY WHAT YOU EROTE WAS BEAUTIFUL THE POEMS AND HOW EACH ONE OF IT HAD A BEAUTIFUL FEELING WHICH I COULD RELATE TO. STANDING UP AND DOING WHAT YOU DO IN THE ASIAN CULTURE IS VERY TOUGH, BUT YOU DID GREAT 😊….. THE POETRY WAS IMPACTFUL TO ME !

REMEMBER YOU ARE GREAT IN YOUR WORK AND BE PROUD OF IT ! EMBRACE IT GURL I AM PROUD OF YOU 👏
Indecipherable is a good first book. The poetries are very relatable to those that grew up in household that is already comfortable with what they know. I appreciate her words as it is what a lot of the younger generation are feeling right now.
I wish they were more of the short stories but that left me wanting more of the short stories. Definitely would check out the next one for the short stories.
Overall, a good first taste of Naadhira’s writing.
I would like to preface this by saying I am a very picky poetry reader, I prefer spoken poetry more than written ones, and I've never been a big fan of diary like poetry.
The strongest poems in the collection in my opinion is the ones about faith and religion, those were impactful and I like those. For the other ones I just wasn't a fan of.
i believe the poetries are based on the author's life stories, especially as a daughter. they are very intimate and as much as i truly understand the feelings she experienced, most of the poetries feel bland and i feel like im reading someone's random tweets. however, i believe her strength lies in writing stories instead of poetries and i would love to read more of her works one day!
I can’t help for not giving this book a solid five stars because I am so moved by the words. It heals, it breaks, it makes me smile and also cries. Those poems were so emotional and lively. It’s beautiful. I love all short stories and yess I need MOREEE Naadhira!
Congratulations Naadhira @legenbooksdary for the best debut. Surely I’ll be one of the readers who are waiting for your next writing 💕
Indecipherable is a collection of poetry and short stories which conveys about unspeakable truth and resonance that most of us are unable to portray. Each page contains words and sentences that illustrate our feelings using raw and poignant words that speaks about dreams and indecipherable hope.
Indecipherable is Naadhira Zahari’s debut poetry and short story collection, one that she has been writing since the age of 15 and finally, made it out to the world in late 2021. The book is separated into 5 sections: Hidden, Love, Life, Words and A Glipse into Fiction. If you’re a poetry reader, you’re in luck! Her poetry takes up most of the book, while the last section was reserved for her short stories.
The poems in this book was fairly direct, which isn’t my personal taste. I remember hearing other readers comparing it to Amanda Lovelace’s poetry, which I do see similarities of. So if you’re a big Lovelace fan, you should give this a read.
While I liked some of the poems, I preferred the short stories more. The themes of the poetry surround family, resentment, religion, growing up, the comfort of books and being an introvert. Whereas the short stories were a mishmash of Naadhira’s interest. From strong women characters and found family trope, childhood crushes, heists to some unexpected dark ones or interesting short stories inspired by Japan, it reflects the genres she reads and that’s my favourite part of this book.
I think Naadhira would have a great future in YA, especially with her unpredictable plots. I’m excited to see more Malaysian authors surface in the coming years! This is one of many that will be featured on this blog of mine.
4.5/5 I love everything about this book! it’s a mixture of poems in the 3/4 pages of the book and the other 1/4 pages were short stories, did not expect to have the short stories and the ending for each was concised & direct.
There were many emotions portrayed for each stories as well as the poems that were written and it leaves a certain mark to it, especially one of the story about love that takes a twist which i did not expect! Can’t say that i have a favourite piece cause i love all of it. Overall, it is a recommended read.
