A teen's suicide leads to a frightening pattern within a small town where nothing is as it seems. Details about the teen’s case remind Sam Hopewell, a local investigative journalist, of what happened to his older cousin back in the ‘90s. Sam prepares to confront his darkest memories, but if he can’t overcome his past, more innocent lives might be taken.
The storyline is not bad, therefore I gave it two stars. The language is horrible. I do not enjoy strong language, and there was way too much for me to enjoy this book. The other part that I just could not get over was the main character. It was not believable. He is an investigative reporter, but law enforcement was fine with him leading the investigation. They allowed him on crime scenes, took direction from him, kept him “in the loop” and many other things that just WOULD NOT HAPPEN. I know it is fiction, but seriously? All in all, it is not a bad book, just not my cup of tea.
The plot of this story was certainly unique and catching. The writing was somewhat less than professional. There were no glaring mistakes, and I didn't notice any typos, but some of the sentences were poorly constructed, and some of the wording was odd. There was also a lot of swearing. I'm sure that some people swear a lot when they speak, but I don't really care to read so much of it.

I enjoyed this book very much! Nice “clash” of vampires, drugs, border crossing and more. Very well written and I will be reading this author’s work again.
This story held my attention to the point of needing to see how Sam Hopewell pulled off his ideas. He's a full-fledged genius with his 6th sense! This is a story that needs to be read.
I liked the storyline but figured out the culprit quite early in the book. The writing isn't as professional as I thought it would be for a published author, but I will read more of his books.
A little far fetched for my taste, and the last half dozen chapters felt rushed; almost like the author couldn't wait to wrap things up and end it. However, it held my attention for the duration and was entertaining.
This book grabbed my attention from the beginning. I never suspected the murderer to be a woman let alone a hypnotist. Held my interest to the very end! I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery.
This book was so very interesting that I read it in one day. Magic and hypnosis, making a very interesting story, keeping my interest throughout. Highly recommended.
He is a journalist, loves to garden, and he follows the crumbs. Rather to take down the big tech guys, or to find a suicide was really a murder With Interesting little details he found, to continue and now knows the person or persons have been doing for some time. Nice flowing plot to enjoy.
