When Wall Street Journal and USA Today Best Selling Author's nose isn't buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she's in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It's a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn't listen to her...

Only One Kiss by Natasha Madison - 4.5 stars

This book is part of a spin-off series from the This Is series; it focuses on Evan’s little sister, Candace, and Ralph.

We first meet Candace in This Is Crazy which didn’t really paint her in the best light, but I’m glad to report that Candace is a completely different person and totally rocks now.

I just absolutely adored this book from the moment Ralph and Candace met, then the book just took off and I was pulled in. I just loved our couple and I enjoyed seeing our favorite people especially Evan and his overprotective personality in regards to his baby sister.

It was so enjoyable seeing the interaction and slow build of the relationship between Ralph and Candace, but mostly importantly the relationship between Ariella, who was just too cute for words, and Candace. I have to say my favorite part of the whole book was the Cassie incident at the end; it’s my favorite because it was heartbreaking yet completely sweet and I just swooned for Ralph even more especially when he didn’t give up.

I can NOT wait to read about Layla, Candace’s crazy bestie, and Miller because I do enjoy a good love/hate romance ;)

Also I need to know more about Manning Stevenson and his whole horrible wife situation.

Also, gotta give a shout out to Jeremy! The poor guy never stood a chance.

🏈 LUCKY NUMBER ELEVEN By Adriana Locke

Lucky Number Eleven is a complete standalone novel by one badass author, Adriana Locke. I have read and loved all of her books. I just know that I will be addicted to the story and the characters instantly and once again, I was. If adulting didn't get in the way this weekend, I would of read it in one sitting.

Branch Best was warned to stay away from his best friend Finn's sister. Layla knew she should have stayed away from him. But the moment she walked out of the car at the cabin, they felt something. It turned into a weekend of something. A weekend of shameless flirting, sexy secrets, and candied apples. It was a good time but they both knew that was all they could give. She wasn't ready for someone like him. Not again. Maybe not ever. And he knew she was too good for him and his life. They knew the score. He didn't do commitments. Hell, sometimes he didn't even do names. He was straight forward about it. But he knew there was something different about Layla. She wasn't a groupie. She wasn't a one-off. She was smart, sexy, strong, sweet and beautiful in every sense of the word. He didn't want to ruin that. Ruin her. But what if it was too late?

Their one weekend changes everything. Finn finds out about Branch's betrayal. He is livid that Branch could easily go behind his back. After that weekend, both Branch and Layla can't stop thinking about each other but know it's for the best to be apart even though they developed feelings. Branch felt at ease with her. Felt like himself. Layla loved the way Branch made he feel beautiful and wanted. Together they laughed, relaxed, and felt right but wrong at the same time. But, when they see each other again, it's not pretty. It's confusing. Can they get back to how they felt before in that cabin?

Sorry. I can't really say much. I will say that I ❤️ Branch even when I didn't like him. I love him for many reasons but the big one is that he doesn't lie even if it's hurts. He is also hilarious, sexy, and oh so swoon worthy. I also love Layla. She is seriously kick ass. She is everything Branch sees and more. Smart, strong, sexy, and beautiful. Together, their banter is on point. Their chemistry is off the charts. And their story is messy complicated and beautiful at the same time. Oh...I can't forget about Finn and Poppy. They are some of my favorite secondary characters! Omg. I want more!! Of all of them.

Overall...I didn't want it to end! The laughs, heat, and heart was everything!

P.S I want coffee cake! Now.

Quotes:

The reporter, whose name I didn’t catch, clutches her notes to her chest. “Maybe we can all three do something together one day.”
“That’s called a threesome and I’m in,” Finn deadpans.
Her mouth drops open. “I meant an interview!”

“I want your blood right now and your cock later. Keep your heart.”
“I think I just fell in love.”
She rolls her eyes and counts us down and we begin the most epic game of Skee Ball Linton has ever seen.

Anyway, enough of the bromance chronicles.

🏒PLAYING FOR KEEPS by Kendall Ryan

Playing for Keeps is the first book in Kendall’s all new Hot Jocks series. I was so excited when I found out she had a new series coming out and for it to be hockey players? That’s a big fucking bonus. I love me some hockey players.

Justin wasn’t used to not getting what he wanted. He worked his ass off for the last ten years to stay in the NHL but off the ice he didn’t have to work too hard for the added benefits. Puck bunnies. They were everywhere. And after ten years he was done. He didn’t want to settle down but he didn’t want them. He wanted her. The one who has always been off-limits. Elise. His best friend/roommate/teammate’s little sister. The one he grow up with. The one he took care of when she was sick with the flu. The one he can’t get out of his head. She wasn’t so little any more. She was a beautiful, smart, sassy twenty-four year old independent woman. And the only woman he could be himself around. He was so fucked. Especially after what happened after the championship game. He went and slept with her and acted like he didn’t remember it. He knew it was a jackass move but he did it to protect her. To protect their friendship. To protect his friendship with Owen. They were the only real family he had left, he couldn’t lose them. But, months later...he still wants her.

Elise knew it was a bad idea. She knew Justin had no problem scoring on the ice and off of it. She knew it would end. This fling they agreed on. But, how could she say no to one with her crush? The one she has wanted since the day she figured out what a crush was. She knew she was risking her heart but this was Justin. She also knew he wouldn’t hurt her on purpose. And he seems to be determined to keep her right where he wants her. But what will happen when feelings get involved? Real feelings?

Overall...They were fucked. In the most delicious of ways. And in any other way. This book has to be one of my favorite Kendall books. Maybe even my favorite. It had it all. I laughed, cried, and got hot and bothered. I felt their passion. Their story. Their fears. I loved their flirty ways. They were so much fun!

Quotes:

“Today, tears,” she says, patting my back. “Tomorrow, we plot his murder and take over the world.”

I grin up at him, feeling a little cheeky. “Hey there, big boy.”
He chuckles darkly, gaze hot. “Don’t.”
“Is that a hockey stick, or are you just happy to see me?” I tease.
“Elise,” he warns, voice now tight.

“Oh God,” I groan, the sound long and throaty. He looks up at me, mouth still working and smirks.
“You keep calling me that and I’m going to develop a complex.”

Ok compilation... Some books are great (The player by C.Contrears) others introduce you to great series (The Player by K.Bromberg) others are just boring... It was free so it's ok...
