Archaeologies of the future in post-apocalyptic Los Angeles. ‘Celestial Metropolitan Gateways’ opens doors in Third Millennium Los Angeles. A mature form of virtual reality offers sanctuary to wealthy ‘STAR.dust Gaming Ship’ patrons as mega-corporations struggle for control.
In this STAR.dust series adventure, Detective Rob Power works space-time investigations for LAPD’s Identity Tourism Detail. In the game, qualified customers escape dystopian chaos by transforming identities and jumping through time.
Detective Power enters a tangled maze of Gateways and Tunnels. Working alone and undercover he unravels a murder mystery spawning a string of domestic terror attacks, until he’s forced to partner with the enemy, Nadeshinko, a beautiful Russian spy. Together, in a primitive sector of the virtual labyrinth, they navigate a blazing trail of scorched earth, death and destruction, following clues left for them on a mysterious blood spattered book. CINDERS CHRONICLES will envelope you in a world unlike any you’ve previously experienced.

It's an fascinating literary adventure; in equal proportions, a science fiction in which the reader is transported into very unfamiliar futures, for example, some characters are digitised/holograms and have crowdsourced like intelligence, and, a film-noir style detective novel in which the reader is searching for clues, just like the protagonist 'Power'. Easily the most important novel this century with its adventures in identity, technology, and time. Strangeways definines a new literary genre: decentralised science fiction.
