GOTHIC ROCK had been officially out of print for nearly thirty years. It was first published by Pegasus publishing, in 1991, then reprinted a year later by Cleopatra in America. As I have the rights to my book back I can make it available to you once more, but I haven’t changed the text, for this is now an historical work. This is the book about Goth which I think of as my book on Goth, as subsequent books have been ones I expressly try to make useful for people, just as Gothic Rock Black Book, my first book on the genre, published in 1988, was simply an introductory overview. I wasn’t happy with the basic nature of Gothic Rock Black Book, and this definitely redressed the balance. It also spawned the Gothic Rock compilations I initially suggested to Jungle Records as a way to promote the book, while spreading the sounds of certain new bands worldwide. I hope you enjoy this work, which treats all bands, be they large or small, as being of equal interest, or scorn.
