Following the path of a vision.
If you like seeing an under dog achieve goals he didn't know we're possible, this collection of ten novels are worth reading. There is plenty of action both in space and planet side as the chronicles unfold.

Multifaceted study of human nature, adaptation & desire for freedom, for self-determination.
This theme is then repeated throughout the Galaxy, inherent in differing species.
The prose is efficient & the action exciting. Each book is well segregated & resolved before leaving you glad you've got the next immediately to hand.
Our hero Jon Pike is well nuanced & far from one dimensional. Thankfully, too, he is one of many interesting & well developed characters that endure throughout the 10 book narrative or are introduced along the way.
The world building is impressive in its breadth over multiple galaxies. The black & white of the good & bad are constantly greyed & mired by circumstance & the twists & turns the author takes you through.
This is more than Space Opera. More than just adventure. Dive in, go for the ride. You won't regret it.

I really enjoyed this series. Plenty of action and imagination, although sometimes a bit predictable as the good guys always win.
The sting in the tail is the 'Full Series' only contains books 1-10, and there are still another 5 books in the series which are only available at full retail. Normally I'm very careful about purchasing series, specifically for this nasty trick - and either I pay (a lot!), or forego the end of the series.
I choose to abandon this series and not support this nefarious practice of fishing.
Thus my reason for the poor rating.

Really fun intruding to read
Fast paced. Lots of action. The author doesn't pull any punches when it comes to death in war. Many types of aliens and personalities. Even some dry humor.

I found this too simplistic to be enjoyable. Perhaps it will pick up but it seems like it might be better suited to YA ?
