Good

Summer might be poor, but she’s proud too. Responsible for her younger brother Winter, and their sister Autumn, she works hard to support them all.
Gareth is a doctor and a werebear. A brief night of passion with Summer was not something he could get out of his head.
Then circumstances bring them back together, and he’s in a position to help Summer when she is in need.
An unexpected consequence, a some shifter misbehavior, ties the two of them together in more ways than one.

This was an enjoyable, and fairly quick read, featuring a mysterious pack of shifters, and a Cinderella in need.
There is danger, action, and romance, as well as some interesting side characters to keep the reader entertained.

Fans of paranormal romance and PNR series will enjoy this one.

I am loving this series. The first book was amazing, and this book, I didn’t think could better but it is. And how I love Dr. grumpy bear. Gareth is exactly that. He finds himself strangely attracted to a young woman named Summer. When her brother Winter is attacked, and the complication is being turned into a wolf, Gareth has come to the rescue to help Winter realize what he is and how to keep control over what is bloodlust. Winter also has a younger sister named Autumn . and as Gareth has come to see, Summer is their older sister and is raising them after their mother has stolen everything and run off. It is easier if the three of them move in with him, the attraction is there between Gareth and Summer, yet they keep each other at arms length. Gareth and Summer do have their private time together but keep it on a friendship level. This book has twists and turns, surprises, and danger lurking. Accusations from townspeople, and Gareth’s ex showing up complicate everything even more. Now Gareth doesn’t know if he’s going to be on time to save Summer and the little surprise she’s carrying. Excellent book, with a happily ever after, and I hope we get to hear more about them and their growing family.

Garath and Summer first meet at a masked party and hook up knowing they don’t know each other and are unlikely to see each other again.
Summer has enough on her plate as she has three jobs and has stepped up to look after her brother and sister after their mother leaves stealing all summer’s savings and jewellery.
Garath has had a bad experience with his ex-fiancée running off with his money. He sees all women as money hungry and liars and at first this is how he vies Summer.
When her brother is bitten by a rogue, she and her siblings are drawn into a world they sort of knew about but now are fully in with.
Not all the Clan members in the town are happy about these new young shifters and start to cause trouble. Everything is not plain sailing for Summer and Garath, they have a lot to deal with and to overcome making this a fantastic book, full of intrigue, emotion and romance.
I voluntarily received and reviewed an ARC copy of the book.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW of J.S. Striker's Dr. Grumpy Bear's Single Mom, the second book in the Midlife Mates series. I really enjoyed this read. It was an emotional rollercoaster that had some sweet moments, some steamy moments (Mature Readers Only Please) and some... I really want to shake both of them like a pair of maracas! Summer is a strong heroine and Gareth is the (not so) grumpy doctor. I loved the opening scene and it really does set the book up for the fast paced action and intrigue. Along with a couple of really good plot twists and a lot of heavy sighing, there is lots of entertainment to be had here! This is a series read and is enhanced by reading the series in order, but this book gives enough back story to be read as stand alone.

This honest and voluntary review was made possible by reading a copy through Booksprout.

Summer goes to a club with and meets a sexy masked man.
Summer Rivers agrees to go to Club Diamond with her friend Tom Haven where people all wore masks to hide their identity. As she sits and watches Tom on the dance floor and tries to give backstories to others around her she becomes aware of someone sitting next to her and a male voice ordering a drink. She turns to see a tall well built sexy man with a half mask covering his face and they have a quick intimate encounter then she leaves. As she is working at the diner she goes to serve the sheriff and his friend and is shocked to find that the man from the club is the local doctor.

First came the party then the one night stand. Gareth not looking for more after his ex tried to take him for all his money. Summer just wants a night of not having to deal with her troubles her 3 jobs and taking care of her brother and sister is allot. Neither one is very trusting but when Summer's brother is bitten buy a rogue shifter she needs Gareth's help. So this is a good read second series there is the physical tension the steamy moments the whole couple drama and tension between the old school shifter clans and the newly bitten shifters.

I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book and I have purchased a copy too.

Brilliant.

Another amazing book from one of my favourite authors, who's library alone could keep you going for several months. But if you we're asked to compare it to a classic, this book could very loosely be described as a Cinderella meets shifter story. With huge twists and turns along the way, like you will actually love the siblings in this one lol. But it it an all round awesome book.
I did receive this book as an ARC but this is my honest review and I have to say I'd be lying if I put anything negative.

I enjoyed reading this story. Well written with great characters. Summer is doing the best she can to survive and take care of her siblings. Her friend talks her into going to a party to relax, something she needs. She meets someone but doesn't want to exchange names she just wants one night.
I would definitely recommend reading this book.

Good story!

Tenses got confused a couple times but story is well-written. I think if an author chooses a character to have an accent then they should try to portray it and that didn't happen here. These characters were likeable but heroine hesitancy drove everything and I hate that. Also his weird thing with the ex didn't fit for me. I'll read this author again but I'm starting to recall why I put her down last time I got caught in one of her series.

I could not put the book down I read it in one sitting.

I would recommend this book highly. The story the author was portraying I could feel. The story kept you on your toes with twists and turns in the story. It told how family is so important and the hardships that you have to sometimes face. But Summer never became bitter and always put her family first before anything and anyone. Wonderful book!

Fate's Path

He like being alone to just be him a guard his broken heart. His ex really shredded it to pieces so he stay to himself, but fate had different plans. She was a hard worker to make ends meet so she could take care of her brother and sister that her mother left them in the middle of the night, but when these two meet the fireworks will go off for two stubborn people. The characters will take you through twist and turns throughout their story until the end.

Needs editing or quality check.

It was an okay story besides the mains being frustrating especially the h. What made me give it only two stars was the fact I think I was missing some pages we jumped from scenes without any break in the chapter. It made me so lost and kept back tracking to see if I missed anything. Not sure if she was just loosing track of her thoughts or if there is really pages missing but it threw me off enough to not enjoy some parts. Especially the ending

Gareth is the town doctor, who is also a bear and part of the shifter clan in town. Summer is responsible for her siblings and has had a rough life. I like how this story brings them together as they are from different backgrounds. It isn't easy but they work through everything. I volunteered to read an advanced copy of this book.

Summer was a strong willed character that seemed to want things only on her own terms, and that frustrated me. Both she and Gareth had baggage, but Gareth seemed more able to cope with his. Summer acted on misunderstandings and that irritated me to the max!!!! Tragedy seems to wake Summer up and break her martyrdom. Smh!!

A wonderful romance about two people who find instant attraction, but not commitment. Gareth and Summer are perfect for each other, but it takes time before either will admit it. I really enjoyed this shifter romance. I voluntarily reviewed.

Not so grumpy

Sexy, so so hot, fun with a side of mystery and angst. The characters were great, the story easy and quick to read as it kept my attention completely.

Lots of action and suspense made me put this book down more than once! I was really invested in it. Had to read the ending twice to get the right time frame but the reread did clear it up. Enjoyed reading about mature people who had real problems to deal with. Will read this author again!

Dr. Grumpy Bear's Single Mom

Very interesting book. I enjoyed the Adventure, Love, and the movement in the book. But there were times that the story was not finished so I feel the book isn't finished.

Winter

Sometimes you just want to deck a person or two. Starting with their mother and ending with Abbie, including the gossipy town women. Plenty of heat and steamy moments.

It was okay. It was a bit dry in some places. Kinda wish we knew what happened to her mom and the dads.

Awesome

I really liked this story but like the last one I do not like cliffhangers. Yeah I read that Race and Hattie got married but it wasn't in their story.

Summer and Gareth first meet at a masquerade party where their game of truth or dare results in a hot clinch and then some. Summer returns home to find that her mother has deserted her and her two siblings and taken all the cash and sellables with her. Determined to keep her family together, Summer throws herself into numerous part-time jobs and shoves her memory of the hot man at the party into a cornet of her brain. When the local sheriff shows up at the diner where she works with the town's doctor in tow, she waits on them like she has never seen the grumpy doctor before. When her brother gets sick and needs a doctor visit, she goes to Gareth's office with only a little trepidation. But things are about to change drastically for her little family.

Gareth is a bear shifter and a member of the local shifter clan. He knew who Summer was as soon as he saw her at the diner and was surprised when she didn't seem to recognize him. When she brings her brother to his office, he is not happy when he figures out that a shifter has scratched the boy. He is afraid of what this might mean, but doesn't know how to tell Summer. Unfortunately, he will be a little too late to warn her.

Not going to ruin the story for you. Summer and Gareth will circle each other until you want to smack them silly. If you read the first book in the series you will recognize some of the characters, but don't worry if you haven't.
