This book is such a delight. The passages about cat and home are written with such warmth, and the camera follows the little beasties around as they go about their day. Although I'm a little jealous, looking at these houses. I just need to make a few more figures and move to Australia. Life goals.
I couldn't figure out how such a beautiful appearing, sumptuous tabletop book was funded. I love architecture - but saw nothing in the photos that inspired me to copy a look in my home. I had no interest in visiting any of the homes I saw -- and almost all my travel revolves around architecture. I am a cat lover - but most of the photos seemed more like snapshots and didn't seem well-framed. One in particular talked about two cats in the home. There was only one cat in every photo, though. None of the home designs seemed to reflect anything that was designed with the cats in mind. In California I once viewed a home that had a track throughout the entire house and hidey holes for the cats. That was what I expected from the book.
Picked this up on a whim at my library and so glad I did. Tantalizing mix of home decor and the felines who live in the homes. Stunning images, amusing cat profiles which include rapid fire questions like 'Diva or Devoted Friend' and 'Dogs -- Friend or foe?' The interiors are architectural wonders. I'm envious of all the clean lines and vast window expanses (all the better for a kitty to watch the world go by.) Great coffee table book and conversation starter for cat lovers.
I loved the idea of this book:cats and the interiors they live in. Of course, all the cats were fabulous and I loved the Q and A about each cat. It would have been 5 stars had the interiors been more varied. They all seemed similar. Definitely worthy of a spot on your coffee table.
I decided that I liked reading about the kitties who lived in the featured houses. Didn't really enjoy the featured houses very much. Stark seems to be the overwhelming word.
