This is such a witty, funny and informative piece of literature. I mean Rohan beautifully uses the satire and humor to convey some of the hard hitting realities of wildlife and conservation. It's a great package of information which can be conveyed very easily because comic strips are very accessible. I truly enjoyed every chapter and being a curious bird watcher the chapter on birds was ofcourse my favorite.

One of the most interesting books I have reached this year. Rohan easily and humorously explains the eccentries and beauty of the natural works and how we as humans destroy it by our condumeristic attitude. From describing different types of species in India and around the world to showing how global warming has been cause by humans, Rohan spells it out well using the form of expression he excels at: comic sketches.

I really liked the book as its short cartoon and comic strips are extremely funny, while spreading awareness about climate change and global warming. I also liked how the author has divided the book into different chapters, each corresponding to the topic of the cartoon/comic strips they contain. Overall this book is one of the best I've read and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Adept at his craft like a bowerbird, punchlines delivered with the grace of an elephant, words that playfully tease like a chimp and wit as sharp as talons, Rohan Chakravarty's comics got me laughing like a hyena.
A must-read, the book wards off gloom brought on by environmental doom.

Exactly the kind of book everyone should read to develop a deep appreciation for nature (and a critical eye on humanity's economic development) that the author exhibits in abundance through his cartoon strips. Lively and informative!

Green Humour for A Greying Planet is a curation of gag cartoons and comic strips based exclusively on wildlife and nature, perhaps the first of its kind. At a time when global warming, wildlife crimes and man-animal conflicts are at their worst, 'Green Humour' provides its readers some much needed comic relief with a comprehensive and satirical take on various aspects of the natural world and the threats to its conservation.

I discovered the author's Instagram handle sometime last year via a post shared on a friend's story. I loved this unique idea of using cartoons to raise awareness about nature, environment and climate change, and also making a political statement when needed.

This book is a carefully compiled selection of cartoon strips created by Rohan Chakravarty where he talks about our responsibility within this strained relationship we currently have with nature.

Each work of art is presented in simplified form by eliminating the jargon expected of scientific information. As the title implies, Chakravarty employs humour to raise awareness rather than sounding preachy. The colourful illustrations and laugh-inducing banter between his characters is guaranteed to trigger curiosity and respect for nature and wildlife.

It is too late to think the climate change is not your problem. Every drop of effort in the ocean of change counts and we are all accountable. This book is just what we need to put us on the right path. Not only is it relevant to adults, but children will love it too. Nowhere else will you find so much information packed in a fun, riveting format.

P.S. If you want those around you to also care about the environment, I recommend buying this in bulk and giving it as gifts.

Rohan creates some amazing cartoons around the most important topics of our time. The best part about the book is the plethora of characters from a green sea slug to the Bengal tiger.
Just as the foreword mentioned, the conversations around wildlife conservation have been so serious, that it seems no one is paying attention to them. This book explains that you can achieve the attention required around all the issues with a bit of humour as well. The punchlines and the witty comments on the state of things make you think a lot about wildlife conservation and climate change in general.

I understand this book is made to raise awareness around all things related to climate change. But it was also a very informative book. I got to know so many facts from this book. Some of them are mentioned below:
1. The Longest gestation period for a vertebrate: Frilled Shark (3 years 6 months).
2. Longest living Vertebrate: Greenland Shark (400 years)
3. Longest living Animal: Ocean Quahog Clam (500+ years)
4. The fastest creature on Earth: The Peregrine Falcon (390 kmph)
5. Arctic tern: travels from Pole to Pole in two flights.

Many many more informative cartoons.
I would highly recommend this book to everyone. Whether you are interested in wildlife or not. this book should be on everyone's TBR list.

Most books about environmental effects talk about how the climate change effects humans. Unfortunately, most of these books forget about rest of the animal kingdom which consists of only a few trillion other animals and plants. I've been following Rohan's page on Instagram since a couple of years. I enjoy his broad and progressive outlook on matters of climate change and he doesn't relegate himself to just the Indian context. This book is a family friendly and child friendly collection of serious matters of discussion presented with a touch of humor. Most of the comics are small digestible chunks so you can read them at random. The printing is colourful and I couldn't believe this book is available for such a cheap price. Also they didn't share any expense in the colourful printing. The pages are of high quality and I'm thoroughly impressed by that. This may be a book to get children talking about climate change and for adults to start thinking about other animals along with humans. We are only a small part of the biosphere, everything goes in circles, we are all connected by an intricate thread. If other animals and plants fall, humans won't be too far behind.

This book has made me smile, laugh and sad as well. The conversations between birds and animals will melt your hearts and at the same time they reveal the terrible effects of climate change on them. The way the author presented every bird and animal it tells a lot about their characters. And the book is very informative. Not only children but also adults should read this book because everyone knows about climate change but not everyone knows how much the animals and the planet Earth are actually suffering. This book can actually put an effect on your minds. And there couldn't be a better way to convey such important messages about environment and wildlife conservation.
Highly recommended.

This book uses humour as a tool to drive home the urgency of the need to start acting on assuaging climate change. The author has done a fine job in critiquing climate politics without mincing words, both at the national and international levels. I learnt about many new species of animals, birds, and reptiles by reading this book- which knowledge is immensely helpful in understanding what exactly is getting destroyed due to our unsustainable “development”. It’s a must read by everyone, in today’s age of climate emergency.

A thought-provoking book on wildlife conservation diced with witty and sarcastic humour. Also, I found several panels quite informative. The artwork is fantastic and true to read characteristics of animals. The book is also quite depressing as we are destroying our world at a frigntening pace. So it strikes a sombre note through the humour.

A must-read for anyone interested in wildlife and conservation, You will smile and learn something new at the same time. My only nit pick was that the text in some panels was too small to read but overall a fantastic read.

Rohan has a beautiful way of depicting environmental cartoons in a fun way (not limited just to doom and gloom). His cartoons are witty, informative and funny while being on trend at the same time. Some strips are straight up humor while some are well researched fact based illustrations with a touch of joke to end it away.

OMG THIS BOOK IS SO GOOD.
It's a series of short comic strips on the world's wildlife and the threats they face. Both wildlife and wildlife lovers are cherished here, and GOOD LORD the humor is good. A great way to spread word of the world's growing problems as well as on earth's critters.
I'd rate it 10/10

Enjoyed this book a lot. A great conversation starter too from my personal experience. The only complaint I have is that some of the cartoon panels have the smallest font which makes it quite tedious to read and makes one want to skip the section (I didn’t though!)
