The Hero(s): Giovanni - Mob boss who is looking for a Cartel Boss that reneged on a deal they made. The Cartel leader, Alessandro Estrella has gone into hiding.
The heroine: Emilia (Em) - sister to Alessandro Estrella, Emilia Estrella had changed her name to Em Larrea. She is out of the Cartel and is now working as a hotel manager in a small boutique hotel and she lives on her own in a nice apartment in the city.
The Love Story: Giovanni finds Em while looking for her brother Alessandro and plans to use her to find her brother. Em says she has no idea where Alessandro is or how to find him but Giovanni doesn’t believe her.
The narration on this one was just as good as Killian, the book I just read prior to this. I liked both the female and the male narrators and this book was every bit as steamy as Killian. I am really enjoying Natasha Knight’s work and plan to read more at some point. I like the Mafia stories as well. The book was as much, if not more about the relationship between Giovanni and Em than about his search for Alessandro. Though both storylines are great.

When I saw the sign up for this I was beyond excited, this author excels in this genre, Giovcanni will tick those angst whore boxes, mafia lovers need look no further than this book because everything we crave, the grit, the dark, the romance was all rolled up into a un-put-down-able read.
Giovanni is the right hand man of a ruthless mafia king, And is used to getting everything he wants, now that includes Emilia, and he’s not going to stop until he claims her.
The last thing Emilia expected upon arriving into her apartment after a grocery shop was the be confronted by five burly gunmen. Giovanni is seeking information about her twin brother, she claims he’s not been in her life since the day she changed her last name and walked away from what the mafia lifestyle embodies four years ago.
Emilia is an ex 'cartel' mafia princess and has been running away from her past, when these two meet we’re thrown into such opposite worlds. He’s after answer, she’s wanting to put her past behind her. But now she’s being dragged back into that lifestyle all over again. Emilia's past has traumatised her, she's got scars marring her body to prove it, but running in her veins is a strong sense to fight, to survive.
Giovanni makes no apologies for who he is. He's powerful, ruthless, domineering, dangerous.

This ticked every single box of mine, it's no secret that I love anything mafia, so when I saw the sign up for this doing the rounds you bet I'm going to sign up for it, add in the fact that I love this author, no brainer..

I loved it. This is my kind of book! The author created characters who I empathized with, whose actions alternately thrilled and horrified me, but most importantly the characters developed.
I love mafia books with the love story and all the drama around it. Giovanni and Emilia make a great couple. Most of their encounters are intense, mostly due to Giovanni’s Alpha/Dominant personality. He just oozes sex appeal and you really feel their chemistry! Giovanni is the bad boy you can’t help but fall for.
In this pulse-pounding dark mafia romance secrets will be told and mob justice will be served. It’s dark, captivating and one of those guilty pleasures you just can’t help but love!!

One of my very fave authors is writing an 'enemies-to-lovers' trope set in mafia world!!!!

Giovanni Santa Maria is on the hunt for Alessandro Estrella, one of the Mexican cartel, but to reach him, he'll go though any available ways of reach, and the first pointer comes to Alessandro's twin sister, Emilia Estrella , now with a changed name of Em Larrea.
BUT she has nothing to do with the cartel business, or the knowledge of her brother's whereabouts.
In fact she keeps to herself, almost hiding in the shadows of the ordinary...BUT what Giovanni sees when he looks at her, is NOT only the similarity of his ghosts past, it's also the painful shadows, palpable calm mixed with brittle defiance...and she makes him curious
and what seemed to be a hunt for the enemy with the business gone wrong turns into the battle of wills, push and pull filled with carnal passion and eventualy dealing with pain of the vile past that leaks from the cracks of Emilia's careful build up armour...
that's when Giovanni steps up, pushing her limits, splitting her open, then picking her up and making her whole and completely his...
I absolutely LOVE Natasha's leading men, all of them...so, naturally, I was leaning towards Giovanni almost instantly, from his very first appearance...and I only fell more and more infatuated with him, his actions, his posture and conduct of the true dominance and dark power, as oppose to the heroine, Emilia, whom I could understand where she was coming from and considering what she has been through, I loved and appreciated her spirit and her will to survive and defy her awful fate and the fact that she wouldn't be owned and defined by it. And yet, she was so rash, reckless and naive in the crucial moments which led to my groaning, growling and hair pulling as an impulsive reaction LOL
all in all, I read it in one sitting, it was fast paced, intense, alluring and tempting, with the "atmosphere" around the main characters that was absolutely vivid in anticipation and pent up tension, I loved it.

Ruthless, gritty and heart-stopping satisfaction…
I admit. I was nervous going in. I don’t think I ever really recovered from Sergio’s story – a book hangover that was so, so worth it but still… How much of my heart was left after three Benedetti brothers? Well, just enough, thankfully, because this author is an insta-read for me and I couldn’t not read Giovanni’s story! Ahh, Giovanni….
Where do I begin? He was ruthless, methodical and just skimmed the line of being too ruthless. Emilia was his leverage for revenge but he soon realized this woman was going to test every nerve he had while heading straight for his thawing heart. He didn’t take it lying down, of course, as he worked to his agenda, digging to uncover her secrets. Emilia, on the other hand, was living a quiet life, hiding in plain sight, but still a slave to her violent past. When Giovanni thrust himself into her life, her protective armor began to painfully crumble…
From the first page, the tension in the storyline - between the characters – kept me on the edge of my seat. The pain, the anger, the shame, so many emotions swirled between them. Scenes were scorching hot and borderline uncomfortable at times as the characters pushed each other’s boundaries again and again. At the same time, the author pushes mine and I revel in it, each and every time. ~Diane, 5 Gritty Stars

4.5 incredible stars.
First, this is a fucking stellar audio done by Aiden Snow and Kate Genevieve!!! Aiden has one of the hotness voices for mafia romances.
Second, why the fuck have I not devoured all of Knight's books? Seriously. This is only my 2nd time reading her and I loved it just as much as the first duet I read. I'm seriously, about to go binge the fuck out of this author.
This book is not super dark, but it is a definite anti-hero and what Amelia aka Em went through was fucking heart wrenching.
Amelia was such an amazing heroine. What that girl survived and is working on moving on from broke my heart. She did have a few moments where if she was close enough I would have flicked her fucking forehead, but hey we can't all be perfect all the time.
Giovanni was amazing. He was OTT controlling, he said all the right dirty things. And he fell hard fro the get go! I loved him so fucking much.
Together these were were combustable. Their chemistry was intoxicating. Giovanni definitely pushed the limits on the sex. Man that was HOT AS FUCK, especially with Aiden Snow narrating.
I got a little frustrated one of Amelia choices in the ending, but it wasn't bad enough to drop a star. So a solid 4.5 stars, and I'm moving on to another one of her books.
I love her characters, writing and storylines. I can't wait to devour more of Natasha Knight.

91%. Read. Stop. Run. Repeat. Yep this is pretty much standard with Knight’s stories. Prior to 91% I was on the edge of the seat nearly comatose due to the INTENSE DRAMA and INTIMATE scenes!
Giovanni is BEAST. Dude is running neck n’ neck with Sergio! The opening scene...total ALPHA move and is as SEXY as all get out. The opening is very intense and sets the tone for the story beautifully!!
A TRUE ARTIST of her craft, Knight set the bar pretty high for authentic mafia stories! Giovanni is no softie. He finds his heartbeat, his reason for existing, and although he’s adjusted to her presence in his life, he’s still A MAFIA MAN! An ALPHA. A PRINCE. He’s in for the fight of his life bringing Emilia to heel. And what a sexy dark ride it is because she’s no pushover! She’s busy saving people and not caring for her own safety. Emilia’s lack of concern for own safety, drives Giovanni CRAZY! Beautifully written in the darkness Knight is famous for, Giovanni is MAGNIFICENT! Total book hangover!!

I was consumed by the book. It’s emotional and mysterious and hawwwt. Yes, Giovanni is pure fire! He’s sexy, domineering, and a definitely a dick at times, but he’s kinda sweet too. I just loved him and Emilia together. He is fiercely protective of her and it had me feeling all the feels. Emilia is broken but so strong. The way he picks up her broken pieces is just... just so tragically beautiful. I loved this book and highly recommend if you like mafia reads that are dark and raw and dirty.
Giovanni is a stand-alone that is set in the Benedetti world, but you don’t need to have read those books to read this one. Although I recommend those too!

STORY:
The way this starts and the intensity oozing from Giovanni, you know this is going to be a good read/audio. Giovanni is in search of Emilia’s brother, and he goes after her in search of him. However, not even 24 hours, Giovanni wanted a taste and got what he wanted even if Emilia wasn’t willing to give it. I liked the story line. Giovanni was dominant and basically took over Emilia’s life. Emilia had a very dark past and this definitely is a trigger. She is very broken. The story played out good for me. My only issue was Giovanni’s storyline regarding his past with the woman and his father as I still never full grasp that issue. They note he was a kid, but I guess he was still old enough for a love triangle.
CHEMISTRY:
Sexually, damn. I have no words. Giovanni is not only dominate outside the bedroom but also inside. Not lacking there and it was a turn on.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
Really, there weren’t any secondary characters that stood out or that I wanted to see a book about. Giovanni and Emilia carried this whole story.
OVERALL, this was my first book by the author as it was always in my to read pile and took forever getting to it. Looking forward to more of her work as she is my type/kind of author for a certain kind of dark.

****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. This was awful. Rape porn with the stupidest female lead ever. She's even called stupid by other characters. Every single chapter has her pleading to go home - by herself - when she has rapists and killers after her. Why did I keep reading? I thought at some point there would be some healing from her horrible abuse. But no. The male lead raped her for most (all?) of their sexual encounters and there was no growth. There were no heroes or heroines in this and I need a giant dose of brain bleach.

Wow! Be still my beating heart! Giovanni by Natasha Knight took me to a roller coaster ride packed with action, angst, darkness and hotness. It was a whole new ride I get to savor from the Mafia Queen herself and every turn of the page was never a dull moment. It was gripping and intense I was at the edge of my seat. Holy guacamole - it definitely packed a punch.
I have been a Natasha Knight fan since what feels like forever. As a sucker for mafia stories and brilliant deliveries, I always see to it to never miss her works. Just like her previous deliveries, Natasha had me with just her characters. I fell in love with the MC’s instantly. Giovanni with his brutality, dominance and alpha-sexiness owned me. Oh boy how I was fantasizing just the thought of him. He is just like any other Natasha Knight’s hero. He will consume you. Emilia on the other hand was such a beauty to behold. In and out, she’s as fierce as a lioness never backing down to whatever life threw her. Together, they were perfect for each other. They are indeed a force to be reckoned with. Their banters and chemistry was just perfectly laid out. It was on point and just perfect. If I have to complain though, it was the length of this book. I want more from them. It’s just hard to let go of the characters and their gripping journey that instantly. I know I have both of them with me, but pretty please? Let there be more?
In totality, I would definitely recommend Giovanni. For all mafia lovers and suckers of angst filled ride that will draw you in from start to finish don’t miss this out. My ride with them may be short but was worth it. It was a brilliant delivery into the dark side of the mafia world. Grab this book. Breathe and inhale it. Thank me later. You’re welcome.

A gripping enemies to lovers romance in the mafia world. Loved it.
It was intense and I couldn't put it down.
Emilia was an ex Cartel princess I say ex because she has changed her name and is In hiding from her brother.
Giovanni is looking for Emilia's brother, discovers Emilia and pays her a visit.
Emilia is on high alert, if Giovanni has found her then her brother will too.
Emilia is balsy and doesn't quiver at Giovanni's threats which is a huge turn on for him, Emelia intrigues and entices him and he wants to know more about the girl with a dark past even though his advances are despised at first Giovanni has persuasive ways.
Great characters
A great Mafia read with likeable characters. Off the charts hot with its share of dark and dangerous moments.
I love Natasha's writing, there's a brilliant balance of everything and more than enough to keep you turning the pages.
Told in first person dual pov. Contains talk of rape but no graphic detail.

It was intense and I couldn't put it down.
Emilia was an ex Cartel princess I say ex because she has changed her name and is In hiding from her brother.
Giovanni is looking for Emilia's brother, discovers Emilia and pays her a visit.
Emilia is on high alert, if Giovanni has found her then her brother will too.
Emilia is balsy and doesn't quiver at Giovanni's threats which is a huge turn on for him, Emelia intrigues and entices him and he wants to know more about the girl with a dark past even though his advances are despised at first Giovanni has persuasive ways.
Great characters
A great Mafia read with likeable characters. Off the charts hot with its share of dark and dangerous moments.
I love Natasha's writing, there's a brilliant balance of everything and more than enough to keep you turning the pages.
Told in first person dual pov. Contains talk of rape but no graphic detail.

So, this was my first book by this author and it certainly will not be my last because I was pleasantly surprised! I enjoyed it a lot! Giovanni was fast-paced, intense, dark, gritty and really sexy. It was on the shorter side (although still a full length novel) and captured my attention pretty much from that start. It had everything a good mafia romance ought to have! Also may I quickly add that Giovanni, our main guy, was absolutely delicious and had me fanning myself because of his dirty talk more than once! Mafia romance and dark romance lovers out there, add this one to your TBRs! 🖤

A really captivating story about two people with a dark and twisted past.
How family can break you with there actions and how you move forward.
In this book we really get to know the characters deep and dark past where her brother had been so twisted up by hate from there childhood.
Leading to him hurting her so badly that she felt broken with in her one body and soul.
He had been betrayed and felt guilt over actions that had not been taken.
Them coming together was fast and Electric and how the brought out each other’s inner strengths.
Coming to Terms with that being a bit broken doesn’t always mean you have to be fixed.
How family can break you with there actions and how you move forward.

Isn't Giovanni just a sweet man, “well, I would like to eff you after dinner, but I wasn’t assuming it was a given.” Giovanni is a man who means business, “you keep looking at her like that, and I’ll pop your eyeballs out of their sockets and feed them to you, understand.” I liked this book, I fell in love with Giovanni.

Ho amato questo libro sin dal primo capitolo, la storia è molto bella, intensa e soprattutto scorrevole. Un libro che assolutamente vi consiglio, soprattutto se amate questo genere!

Natasha Knight did it again! I don't know how it is possible but with each new release I find myself entirely under her male lead character's spell...

Their cat and mouse play riveted me. Em stands no chance against Giovanni but did she try to fight him! I loved her personnality. Strong and vulnerable, fierce and defiant but so lonely! I instantly connected with her. The physical attraction between them is immediate but trust is hard earned and doesn't come easy in this mafia world. The stakes are high and the threats are permanent, the blood betrayal leaving ugly scars.
As the story unfolds, Giovanni, the cold and ruthless right-hand man, slowly shows a protective side I succumbed to. When Em finally unraveled, he was there to catch her fall and hold her. Natasha Knight truly is the queen when it comes to write heartbreaking and beautiful breakdowns scenes.
Giovanni is a captivating love mafia romance with amazingly portrayed characters, a mysterious vibe, and intense scenes that totally enthralled me. The tone is dark and the writing excellent. Enjoy ladies!

I love mafia books, especially ones with delicious romances that make up the story and let me say GIOVANNI by Natasha Knight is all that and then some. It is a full length story that is all dark romance, a Dual Perspectives mafia romance story . Giovanni is hands down one heck of an alpha beast. The opening is super intense and sets the tone for the story quite beautifully!! Emilia was an ex Cartel princess who has changed her name and is in hiding from her brother. Giovanni is an alpha mob boss who does what needs to gets done and that is find Emilia’s brother and enact his revenge. Unable to bring his prey out, he demands the man’s sister, Emilia get him to come out into the open instead. Emilia isn’t down for that and fights Giovanni at every turn—yet there is this intense sexual chemistry that sizzles and pops whenever these two are around one another. Then you have the banter between Giovanni and Emilia—oh wow!! It is steamy, witty, and full of innuendoes. The build up to their big moment is awesome—This story has it all—angst, danger, tension, heartbreak, drama, fiery heat, passion, twists and turns, and love. This is a story that will keep you hooked from start to finish.

Will Giovanni be able to help Emilia overcome her past once and for all? Or, will the distrust and secrets between them tear them apart for good?
This was an emotionally gripping read that packed a punch. It is told in dual POV.
The topics it covers are written tactfully but could still cause triggers.
The plot is a little slow but there are a lot of hot & steamy scenes to keep you company along the way.
I was disappointed somewhat in the ending. It felt a little rushed. There is really no clear wrap up as to why Giovanni was so actively seeking Emilia’s brother. It was never fully explained.
I am also wondering about Giovanni’s dad. It feels like he is a loose end. Why did he approach Emilia? What was his exact motive?
Giovanni. My heart is in his hands. For all that he is brutal, he is a protector first and foremost. He shows this in the way he always and continuously comes to Emilia’s aid in every way. He is her rock. Her protector. Her Lover.
Emilia is strong yet broken. I loved that even though she was scared a few times, she never backed down. My favorite part is when she comes full circle with Giovanni. She finds in him what she has been looking for since she left home.
This was an entertaining read that I enjoyed thoroughly. I cannot wait to see what Natasha Knight puts out next.

This was a really good audiobook. The story had very dark elements, most of which weren't between the hero, and heroine. It is also very triggering and deals with sexual abuse/rape.

Once again Ms. Knight has outdone herself in Giovanni.
She takes the reader into the world of The Mafia,The Cartel,the bad boys and the women they love!
This book had me gripped from the first two sentences,I didn’t put it down till I reached the end!
Very intense story. Filled with pain,anguish,sorrow and betrayal.
But it’s also a love story that Giovanni and Emilia never saw coming!
I loved Giovanni immediately!
The way Emilia describes him when first seeing him had me saying hell yeah I’ll take one of him!
He’s sexy,he’s built,he’s dominant,he’s dangerous and he’s one hundred percent pure male alpha!
Giovanni is intrigued by Emilia and she’s captured his mind and he’s determined to learn all about her.
Emilia,I just want to hug her and never let go. She thinks she broken but that’s so far from the truth.
She’s strong,she’s brave,she’s loyal and her spirit is still vibrant.
That girl has been through hell and back and she’s still standing tall!
Something about Giovanni has gotten to her. Even though she’s wary of him,she responds to him like no one else,which btw she’s not to happy about.
Incredible characters that had me falling in love with them and cheering them on!
This isn’t a light fluffy read! It’s dark,scary and thrilling!
It’s mafia,how the handle their business and how they handle and deal with their enemies.
The story had me holding my breath at moments and had me crying at times.
It also had me smiling at the tender moments and fanning myself at the passionate scenes.
The is nothing I didn’t absolutely love about this book!
Yes there were points in the book that were so freaking tough to read but it’s the journey and life of Giovanni and Emilia and all that they had to endure,overcome and triumph over to find their hea!
You kicked ass with this book Ms. Knight! ♥️

I'm giving this 2 stars only because I actually bothered to finish it.
And the narration was pretty good.
This book was everything I don't like about how some authors portray NC sex. Its just rape - let's call it what it is. Making the h come during it doesn't make it better just because she needs some pain to get there. There are other ways to get this across without NC sex. There's other ways to make NC sex more palatable.
I like dark romance but at least give me a H who has something, anything likeable or redeeming. This H is just a complete asshole. There is just nothing to like here at all. Yes, he avenges the shitty stuff that happened to her. Yes he wants to look after her. But he still is a coercive manipulative asshole who has NC sex with her repeatedly in the beginning, knowing she had been abused in some way in the past. His behaviour doesn't get much better as the book goes on. The pull for me just wasn't there.
I also love a broken FMC. I love seeing them own their brokenness, get though it or whatever the author wants to do with their story arc. Amelia was really broken. I guess there was some authenticity there given what she went through but I just found her whole reactions to his behaviour puzzling and really dissonant. It didn't make sense.
I love dark and I had lots of Natasha Knight on my tbr though this was the first one I actually go to because it was included as part of an Audible subscription.
Its enough to make me take her off my tbr. If this is what her MMCs are like?
Hard pass for me on them all.

Definite 5 Star Worthy Read! Natasha Knight had me pulled into the Dark Mafia World from the very first page of Giovanni and I could not and did not put it down until the very end.

Emilia has been staying off the radar for years when she comes home one night to find a very dangerous man in her living room.
You would think she would turn screaming, but nope. Not this girl. She has a backbone! So when the man who introduces himself as Giovanni Santa Maria tells her what he wants, she tries to remain cool, calm and collected and wait for her moment.
" Get out. Now."
" And here for a minute, I thought you were just an innocent girl caught in an ugly world."
" I'm not a girl, I'm a woman."
I love the banter between Giovanni and Emilia. It was great! The chemistry and the build up between them is perfect.
They both have something to hide and this book has many twists and turns. You will have to just read it for yourself because I refuse to spoil any moment of it.
