The one person I can’t stand wants me to be her bridesmaid.
My sister. Not that I have time for her crap.
I’m a stockbroker in training and the last thing I need is to cater to my high-maintenance sibling’s every desire.
And her first request? To learn to ride horses. So she can enter the wedding on one.
You’ve got to be kidding me. We’ve never even touched a horse before.
With lots of peer pressure and guilt tripping, we head to a breathtaking ranch, and lucky for me, the horses aren’t the only beautiful things to look at.
The riding instructor is honestly the hottest guy I’ve ever seen. Everything about him sends me in a tizzy.
Best of all, he’s nothing like my sister’s rich jerk of a fiancé.
Wealthy guys are the worst. I work for them, with them, and avoid them at all cost.
This hottie and I hit it off, and he offers to be my plus-one to the wedding, with a fake romance attached to it.
I couldn’t be more thrilled until things start to not feel so fake anymore.
I’m falling for his charm, his way with words, his scorching body.
He’s perfect, until he’s not.
Turns out, he’s a billionaire in disguise. And here I thought things wouldn’t be fake for long.
Have we met? No? Well it's time to end that tragedy.
I'm a former firefighter/EMS guy who's picked up the proverbial pen and started writing bad boy romance stories. I co-write with my sister, Ali Parker, but live in Texas with my wife, my two little boys, my daughter, two dogs, three cats, and a turtle.
Yep. A turtle. You read that right. Don't be jealous.
You're going to find Billionaires, Bad Boys, Military Guys and loads of sexiness.
Something for everyone, hopefully. I'd love to connect with you. Check out the links below and come find me.
This was just okay for me. This was the second book I've tried to read by this author and I've rated both 2 stars. The writing is decent and the story concepts are fine, but to be honest I'm a little bored at times and I feel like the story drags more than it needs to.
The cover photo is beautiful, but that's about the best part.
Loved Keira and Harrison. Their story was so much fun to read. She is on a ranch to learn how to ride a horse for her sister’s wedding so they can ride into the ceremony on horseback. She meets Harrison and thinks that he is a nice ranch hand to help her out. Little does she know, he is actually a billionaire who likes to spend time winding down on his ranch. She isn’t happy when she finds out who he is since she has a major dislike for stuck up billionaires. Love watching them work through their issue to have the HEA they both need. Great read and can’t wait to read more from this author.
Another great read by Weston Parker. This is an emotional and heartfelt story with strong characters. The author does a fantastic job building the story and delivers a sweet and sexy read. It's well written with perfectly painted scenes and is a beautiful love story. I loved and would recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

WOW! Those sex scenes are hot! This book provide the full spectrum of emotions; laughing, crying, and needing relief! Here’s a quick re-cap and my full two cents.
Quick Re-cap:
Keira and her sister go to a dude ranch to learn how to ride horses for her sister’s wedding. Her sister finds out she isn’t much of a horse rider while her sister gets busy riding the riding instructor, Harrison.
Keira assumes Harrison is a ranch hand instead of the owner and Harrison lets her continue thinking so. This small lie continues while Keira and Harrison become closer. Now it’s a matter of when will it blow up in Harrison’s face??
My two cents:
I wanted to give this book a 4.5, but that isn’t an option and I always give the benefit to the author.
I had a hard time putting this book down. I’m not quite sure why. It wasn’t extremely action packed, but I kept wanting to know what was going to happen next.
I really enjoyed Keira. She is strong and independent. She knows what she wants in life and goes for it. When she finds out about Harrison’s lie, she was mature about it, which I definitely appreciated.
I also really liked Keira’s friend Jamie. She gave Keira really good advice and was there every time Keira needed her. She’s a great friend to have!
There was a lot of girl power in the book, but the guys shined just as much. Ashton and Harrison are amazing too! I loved their father/son-like relationship. They brought me to tears at the end.
Good characters have great sex! O-M-G! I thoroughly enjoyed the sex scenes. Especially because they were more realistic. These two have sex practically the first day they meet, which would totally happen in real life. Have your relief nearby for this book folks!
Overall, this book was enjoyable! If you don’t like crying during books, consider finding a different book. There is a side line that reduced me to tears. Despite that side line, I would definitely suggest reading this book. There are plenty of good scenes to outweigh the sad one. Happy reading y’all!!
Keira and Harrison will grab your heart in this insta love romance. Keira hates rich jerks like her sister's fiance and just wants a nice average guy. He offers to be her plus one at her sister's wedding and his cover is blown. He's not only gorgeous but a low key billionaire. This is a beautiful love story that is emotional at times. Their chemistry is explosive and they are perfect for each other. Weston did a wonderful love of developing the characters and made them so likable. The story line had some twists and was entertaining. I read a free advance copy via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.
Harrison & Keira’s Romance Will Thrill Animal Lovers! Harrison Dotes On Dottie, His Black Lab, & Loves His Horses, While Keira Is A Natural With Animals. Their Story Is Serious In Tone. It Brings Tears To Your Eyes At Several Points.
Harrison Hynes, probably in his thirties, is a bit of a recluse. He got into banking and took the industry by storm. His dedication to his work and his company paid off big time. Today he is a billionaire banker and CEO of the Hynes Group, which specializes in financial services. The media had shown interest in him in the earlier days of his success, but he avoids attention whenever possible, preferring to maintain a low profile instead. It affords him more freedom that way. He isn’t exactly a people person. He is more stoic, like his father. He isn’t one for going out on the town. He doesn’t maintain friendships. His relationships with women have been strictly physical; he hasn’t met one that he is interested in actually dating. Dottie, his black Lab, is his closest companion. He doesn’t have the patience for pretense. He lives in a rather simple brownstone, not a fancy penthouse apartment.
Harrison spends as much time as possible these days on a second job in the country, about a two hour drive out from New York City. He hadn’t been looking for a farm when he came upon the village of Red Hook, but once he was there he began to fall in love with the area. He ended up purchasing Airedale Farm, a fruit and vegetable farm, and kept on all of the staff. Though the profits are peanuts compared to those from Hynes Group, the farm does make a profit. Ashton helps run the place in Harrison’s absence. The older man has been a widower for three years now. He is often disagreeable, and yet he is probably Harrison’s only real friend. They recently added a new revenue stream on the property. They set up the main house for guests and opened it up for people hoping to get some time away from it all in a ranch setting, with some horseback riding lessons and trail riding over the course of the weekend. Harrison always looks forward to the hard labor and being close to nature.
Keira Piatt, twenty-nine, has goals. She is a stockbroker in training. She loves working and doesn’t mind putting in the long hours. She is a little on the different side. She and her sister are total opposites. Her sister had always been slim and beautiful, and everything came easy for her. Keira was always the chubby sister who had to work for everything. She didn’t get all the hand outs and freebies that Hailey did. But along the way Keira developed a good work ethic. And today she is happy with her curvy figure. She doesn’t have a busy social calendar by choice, but she has been best friends with Jamie for years. Jamie is full of life, so her friendship helps Keira maintain some balance in her life.
Keira is the maid of honor for her sister’s upcoming wedding. Hailey and Nick’s ceremony is approaching soon, and Hailey has the wild idea that she and her sister should make a grand entrance to the nuptials on horseback. Hailey asks her sister to arrange for some lessons, which leads them to a weekend at Airedale Farm in upstate New York. The sisters haven’t been close as adults, but Keira feels obligated to share her reservations about Nick prior to the wedding. Nick is an older man – in his forties – and wealthy. Keira hates everything about Nick and his friends. They are all fake, lie, and cannot be trusted. Hailey, it appears, seems too hung up on impressing Nick’s snooty friends to think rationally. Keira is afraid that Hailey cannot see past Nick’s rather sizable bank account, which will only lead to a disastrous marriage. But a quiet weekend getaway, just the two of them, offers Keira a unique opportunity to share her concerns and get them off her chest before the wedding. She wants Hailey to be happy, but she just doesn’t see it with Nick. She needs to be honest, and at the same time maybe Hailey will open up and alleviate some of her concerns.
When Harrison and Keira first meet on the farm, they both feel the instant chemistry. They end up spending hours getting to know one another, and it all leads to a night of passion. Neither is ready for it to end when they say goodbye. Conveniently enough, Kiera is concerned about her mother giving her a hard time for showing up at the wedding without a date, and Harrison is happy to help her with that problem. But since any date she brings will inevitably be hounded with questions, a fake fiancé situation would actually be safer. This gives the couple the excuse to continue to get to know one another in the meantime. But there is one problem. Harrison hasn’t exactly been honest with Keira about his wealth or his job. Because Keira is quite vocal about her disdain for wealthy men, he isn’t exactly sure when the right to time come clean is. The couple has a few obstacles, but they eventually earn a very happy ending.
Harrison and Keira’s steamy story contrasts city life and country life. Here, Harrison reevaluates what he wants in life. He has fallen in love with working his farm. He loves sitting back and enjoying the view. He loves being alone in nature. He has become attached to his horses. He probably relates better to animals than he does to humans. Keira’s job, however, is tied to the city, and the farm is two hours away. The distance alone presents a challenge to the idea of a relationship – if they get to that stage. Keira is a city girl, but she learns that she loves the country, too. She is a natural with animals, which has Harrison even more taken by her. The couple makes a good match.
One issue merits mention. There is a little confusion about the timeline in my ARC copy, which might be cleaned up in the published version. During their weekend at the farm, it is mentioned that the wedding is in two months. In actuality, it is in two weeks.
Harrison and Keira’s romance will thrill animal lovers. Harrison dotes on Dottie, his black Lab, and loves his horses, while Keira is a natural with animals. Their story is serious in tone. It brings tears to your eyes at several points. It is well-written. The plot is fairly simple. It takes a while to get into it, but you become attached by the end. The characters are somewhat complex. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Harrison and Keira. I rate this book four stars.
I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Keira is the younger sister who has always felt in the shadow of her glamourous older sister, Hailey. Everything comes easy for Hailey but Keira always has to work hard for what she achieves. Hailey asks Keira to be her maid of honour to her marriage to millionaire, Nick [who Keira isn’t very fond of nor his pompous friends]. As Hailey wants to arrive at the wedding on a horse, they need to learn how to ride one! So they’re off for a long weekend to a ranch just 2 hours out of NYC to prepare. Keira drives and they are met by an older man, Ashton, and a very handsome cowboy called Harrison when they arrive. Hailey assumes that Ashton is the owner and promptly assigns him to be her ‘slave’ so Keira is very happily, left with Harrison. When Hailey feels too tired to do any more horse riding, Keira is left to spend the time however she sees fit and Harrison is more than happy to assist her! This is a smoking hot romance by the best selling author, Weston Parker that you won’t want to put down. Keira and Harrison both feel as if they’ve know the other for so long. No awkward silences. Just mutual appreciation and fun – as well as passionate encounters. They agree to see each other again after the weekend, but Harrison hasn’t quite been honest with Keira and Ashton warns him that it will come bite him when he least expects it. And it certainly does at Hailey’s wedding where he is Keira’s plus one and a disgruntled ex- employee decides to pick a fight. Will Keira forgive him? Do they have a future? Will there be a HEA? To find o9ut all these answers and to meet the adorable Dottie too, you’re going to have to get yourself a copy and read this sizzling romance. I received a reader’s copy and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here. MOST DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED
Weston Parker excels at taking familiar romance novel tropes and making them uniquely his. “Not Fake For Long” is a perfect example of that. Yes, it’s a billionaire fake fiancé story. But it’s also a story about recognizing who you truly are inside and embracing that which nourishes your soul.
Harrison is a successful entrepreneur in the banking industry. He takes pride in his achievement, but for a while already his profitable career hasn’t been personally fulfilling. He’s got a second business pursuit involving a farm that he finds far more rewarding. Keira is a smart young woman excelling at her training to become a stockbroker. Her dating life, however, is anything but excellent. I don’t want to recount the plot to you because I really believe it’s better for you to experience it as it unfolds. Suffice to say that Keira needs a date for her sister’s wedding and Harrison ends up volunteering to be her plus one … taken up a whole other level. It’s an entertaining story with some laughs, some angst, a couple of irritating ‘bad guys’ plus horses and a great dog.
For me, what made this story great were the unexpectedly powerful and emotional relationships Harrison and Keira had with a couple of the secondary characters. The lead characters each end up doing some serious thinking about what matters in life. Even better, they make impactful changes based on their realizations. Take my advice and be sure to have a few tissues nearby when you read this story, and something you can drink to clear that feeling of a lump in your throat that you’re probably going to get a couple of times while reading.
By day, Harrison is a wealthy businessman, running his chain of banks but keeping himself away from publicity. On the weekends and whenever he can get away, he’s at his farm. This is his favorite spot in his life. Riding his horses and taking care of them is what Harrison was meant to do. The main house on the property, is also a place that he rents out for weddings and meetings. Today, he and his right hand man, Ashton, are waiting for two women that want to learn how to ride.
Keira can’t believe that her sister has decided that for her wedding, they will be riding horses into the lawn of the venue. Knowing her sister, once she’s at the ranch and actually rides a horse, she will change her mind. When they get there, there are two men waiting for them. The younger one, is extremely handsome and oh so fit. Keira is so glad when they go out on a ride, that Harrison is her teacher. For the two hours they are riding, they talk about everything. Unfortunately, her sister wants to go back to the ranch, since she’s had enough.
Harrison is smitten with Keira and spends most of the weekend with her, since her sister decided she had enough riding. Spending time with Harrison and getting to know him, is something Keira will never forget. She knows they live in different worlds so this will be a weekend fling. Until it isn’t.
Like every book that Weston writes, he gets better with each. I just downloaded three more!

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Harrison and Keira. Harrison is a billionaire banker who also owns a farm upstate that he travels to every week. Harrison would rather live on the farm full time, but he also has business obligations in the city. Kiera is training to become a stock broker and agrees to go to the farm for a weekend to learn to ride horses for her sister's wedding. Kiera's sister Hailey is high strung and wants to enter the wedding on a horse, so they go to the farm. Kiera was not looking forward to the trip and spending time with her sister, until she arrived and saw Harrison. Harrison was also immediately drawn to Kiera. They spent time together and when Hailey decided not to ride anymore, Kiera and Harrison went by themselves. They had an amazing time together and Harrison offered to go to the wedding with Kiera and pretend to be her fiance so her mother wouldn't try to set her up with someone. Harrison never told Kiera who he really was and she thought he just worked at the farm. Harrison knew he had to tell Kiera the truth, but he was scared she wouldn't want to see him anymore. I really loved this book. I liked the connection between Kiera and Harrison. I thought they were great together. I also loved the friendship between Harrison and Ashton. This was one of Weston's best yet.
I wasn’t sure - this is a fake fiancé romance and I’ve read them, and enjoyed some but they aren’t my fav troupe….. but, this was very good 😊 The story was complicated enough to fool you. It started very easy breezy and I thought yup, kinda no twists here but I was wrong. The story revolves around Keira and Harrison. He is an banking entrepreneur- and a successful one at that, very successful but although he’s been giving his work all of him, he’s not content any more. Currently, Harrison finds his farm is giving him more then his regular job. Keira is on the road to becoming a stockbroker. She too, doesn’t have much of a personal life. And, now, her lack of effort in her dating life is going to come to bite her because Keira needs a date for her sister’s wedding. Harrison volunteers to be her plus one and this is where things get dicey. Keira and Harrison’s relationship is quite intense and gets the emotions moving. I really enjoyed this read. I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book from the author and purchased a copy as well
This was not at all what I was expecting this book to be. There’s all the steam and family drama I’ve come to associate with this author’s work, but the story itself was also quite sweet. Which, in a genre filled with bad boys, is not always the case. Harrison is a good man doing a job in an industry that’s filled with men that aren’t. He’s caring and honorable, and just might be my new gold standard for book boyfriends. Keira is driven and independent. She feels like the odd duck in her family of swans. Together, this pair have off-the-charts chemistry and I loved seeing them as a couple. They also show amazing emotional maturity even when everything starts going sideways. The parts of their relationship that are fake really don’t stay fake for long. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Harrison & Keira are amazing characters. Each have the drive to succeed. Harrison has already succeeded. Keira is on her way to complete success. They meet when she goes to a farm for riding lessons with her sister, who wants to ride a horse into her wedding. Harrison and Keira’s attraction is instantaneous. They have a great weekend together. He is definitely holding back a secret about his wealth from Keira. Their relationship progresses at a normal speed. This is what I like about Weston Parker’s books and writing. The progression of relationships is not too fast, but not too slow. It holds you throughout the book. Harrison and Keira go through some trials and tribulations, but in the end all is well. I absolutely loved this story. The story line is always different in Weston Parker’s books. Very diverse. Looking forward to more of his books.
"Not Fake For Long" is a wonderful love story. Harrison Hynes is the owner of Hynes Group, a large Banking & Financial group. For years he has worked hard building his company but for a while now he's become tired of the hustle between his business and living in New York. A few years ago Harrison purchased a working farm and horse ranch a few hours from the city. For the first time, he can relax with his animals and tinker on the farm. Keira is a hard-working stockbroker in training. She works long hours and doesn't have time for anything but work. She is visiting Harrison’s farm with her sister who is soon to be a bride. They are there to learn how to ride horses for the wedding. Keira and Harrison quickly discover that they have a real connection. You will laugh a lot and cry a little while reading this beautiful story. Linda
I just loved this story so much. Not many books can make me cry at times, yet still love the whole thing, but this is one of them. Keira is one of the most likeable heroines I have read, and she comes off as real, yet jaded. Harrison is also awesome, and I just love how humble he is, not to mention caring.
Another thing that was awesome is how the big conflict was quickly and maturely resolved. So many times I read books where there is a big split or whatever between the main characters and it takes the rest of the book for them to get over themselves and talk to each other. Not this one. These two are remarkably mature.
I received an ARC for an honest review, and later purchased it. It was that good.
I loved this one, it's so much more than a fake fiance story, Weston Parker has written a story that evokes so many emotions, in the reader, it's an emotional rollercoaster read which made me laugh and cry. Be prepared for this it ends well but the journey taken by Harrison and Kiera will definitely touch your heart and bring tears to your eyes I had to stop reading and wait for my tears to clear.
As well as humour and sadness the story involves drama and secrets and what happens when they are revealed. The book flows well and has no difficulty holding my attention, I really didn't want this one to end and found it hard to put my Kindle down. The characters are wonderfully well-drawn and so easy to relate to.
NOT FAKE FOR LONG By Weston Parker Weston Parker is so good at creating worlds that you want to dive into and stay in. He never fails to bring chemistry and heat to his wonderful characters as well as a very engaging story line. Not Fake For Long is just that. Harrison is a quiet, seldom publicly seen financial mogul who is most at home on his farm, where among other things he is running a learn to ride horseback training facility. Keira is a stockbroker in training who enjoys working hard and grabbing coffee with her bestie. Keira finds herself at Harrison’s farm when her sister Hailey decides to ride in on horseback to her wedding. Sparks fly immediately between Harrison and Keira, so much so she asks him to be her plus one to the wedding. This is a 5 star read.
This is one of the sweetest romance stories I've had the pleasure to read. Everytime I read one of his books, I have a hard time believing that a man wrote the story. Sorry, Mr. Parker but I rarely meet a man with such a romantic heart. The characters were perfect for each other. Keira's sister was a bit wrapped up in herself which had me feeling sad for Keira but....it gave her a chance to get to know Harrison. I loved the Harrison on the ranch, the real person inside. Their chemistry was not only explosive, it was what true life mates could build their lives off of together. Mr. Parker was fluent in his writting styles and the way the story moved along at just the right pace. Very well done and fit for all types of romance readers. I strongly suggest picking up this one.
Keira is an up an coming stockbroker with an aversion for fake rich entitled people. However her sister Hailey is marrying one of them and has this fabulous idea that ehy should come to the wedding on horseback. There is one problem, neither one of them have the know how, therefore they book a weekend at an upstate farm where she meets Harrison. Her first meeting with the ranch hand is electric and their connection is immediate. When he offers her to be her plus one at the wedding, she is thrilled! But Harrison omitted to mention that he was a billionaire and not a ranch hand, will this change the whole relationship/attraction they have going? A great story line that will bring tears to your eyes. I volunteered to review this story with pleasure!
I dont know how Weston keeps doing it but his books just keep getting better and better. In this on Hailey is the oldest sister and is getting married. Keirais going to be heaid of Honor, but not overly excited about it. Hailey now decides she wants the two of them to ride horses in to the wedding venue but neither one of them have ever ridden before. So Hailey books them a weekend away, just the two of them with riding lessons. Keira figures it will be a good sister bonding time. The story gets really interesting here as the instructor happens to be Harrison and sparks begin to fly. So many things can and will go wrong and can they be made right? Such a fun read. I refused to stop reading and finished in one sitting. Loved it.❤🤩
The premise of this is cute but the title is a little misleading since they are already dating. It really did not seem like there was much of a point to pretend to be engaged. I liked the theme of not judging people based on their wallets or looks. Everything else was kind of boring and the story seemed to go on for longer than it needed to. Other than that, there were no glaring grammatical errors— just a few run-on sentences or things that could have been phrased better. This is not really a story I will think about ever again. A little over half way through the book I really just wanted it to hurry up and be over. This book did not really make me feel much so I did not really connect to the characters or feel submerged in the story.
I really enjoyed this story. Weston Parker is a relatively new author for me and to know that the writer is a guy is even better. This story is a meet, feel a major attraction, pretend to be engaged and then really fall for each other. Harrison Hynes is a billionaire recluse who prefers his farm and outdoors more than his office and city. Keira is a stockbroker in training. They meet one weekend when her sister Hailey wants to learn to ride a horse so they can ride in on horses for her wedding and they go to Harrison's place to learn. Hailey is a fish out of water but Keira takes to the outdoors and animals like she's been doing it her whole life. Weston brings us a well thought out storyline, wonderful characters, tragedy and more.
This fake engagement story begins on a ranch where Keira and her sister, Hailey go for riding lessons before Hailey's imminent wedding. They meet Harrison, who they assume is a ranch hand but in fact, he owns the ranch together with a very successful banking corporation and is a billionaire. Harrison and Keira are instantly attracted to each other and connect immediately and this starts a relationship. However, Keira needs a plus one for Hailey's wedding and Harrison volunteers to be her fake fiancé. Unfortunately his identity is revealed at the wedding which throws a spanner in the works. This well written book was interesting and the main characters had depth. The storyline is quite ordinary but the characters were believable and likeable. There were one or two lulls in the book that dragged their story out a bit. The book is written from dual POV's, there is sex and swearing. I rate this book 4.5*.
Kiera, a stockbroker in training, makes some assumptions about Harrison, billionaire jack of many hats, when she and her sister book a weekend at his ranch. As the story progresses they fall into an easy conversation, not everything is shared, and when fears com to light the relationship may not survive. Weston Parker took me for a leisurely ride through love in Not Fake for Long. There were a few times I wanted to shake the characters, just to wake them up to what was in front of them.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
Kiera is roped into being her sister’s maid-of-honor and hates every minute of it. Now her sister wants them to enter her wedding on horseback, which means taking lessons. So, they plan a weekend together – yeah! But when she sees the sexy ranch hand, she has second thoughts about this horse-riding stuff.
Harrison has built his business to the top and he gets away from it all at his ranch outside of the city. It heals his soul. When Kiera and her sister arrive, he sees something special in her, so he doesn’t tell her who he is. Especially after she let him know how she hates “rich guys.” The truth has to come out, but what will it cost them?
Such a brilliant fake romance read from Weston Parker. There is an instant attraction between Kiera and Harrison when they first meet and the more they get to know each other the more time they want to spend with each other. When he offers to be her fake fiance at her sisters wedding she agrees only to keep her parents from finding her someone to date. I loved how they were together but when she finds out the big secret that he has been keeping will they still be together. A must read full of emotion and more than enough drama but also more than a few tears. A brilliant ending. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I loved this book a lot! These characters are strong and I really liked them both from the start. Keira and Harrison click. They meet when she goes with her sister to his working farm for the weekend to learn to ride a horse and the spark can be felt pretty quickly. I loved some of the other characters we were able to meet, shared the smiles, the pain and emotions, as well as the connection they had. I did wipe tears as well. The story pulled me in, the secret, the nerves that went along with that and how their story progressed. This is a must for me!
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
