Moving on from her past seemed impossible. Until she met the One who promised to give her a future.

When Aubrey moves across the country to San Diego to escape her past, she is hopeful that she can finally discover God’s purpose for her life and meet her future husband. She doesn’t know too much about God, but she is confident her new faith and a new city will help her leave her drunken mistakes and dating history behind.

As she settles into her new beach life, Aubrey meets Jake while watching dolphins play in the ocean. They instantly hit it off and it feels like fate, but soon, Aubrey begins to question Jake’s true intentions and lifestyle.
Is this the guy God has chosen for her? If this is the life God has intended for her, then why does she still feel so lost and alone, and why does she keep making the same mistakes?

Aubrey quickly realizes her past has followed her to her new city, and that going to church every once in a while isn’t good enough. After a few nights she’d like to forget, God shows her that she has a choice to make.

Aubrey can choose God and to do life his way, or she can choose to continue trying to find love and acceptance from the world.

Will she ever be able to move on from her past? Will she have the courage to surrender it all to God?

This book is a testimony to the power of the love and forgiveness of Jesus. It's an honest and relatable story of escaping the power of sin and learning to walk in the newness of life. No matter what stage you are at in your walk with Christ, this book will encourage you to deepen your faith and spend more time with God. This is such a beautiful true story, and I am so glad that Erin had the courage to share it. The light of Jesus shines so bright through this testimony!

Based on the author’s life experiences, One Transforming Love by Erin Elise Kiu dives into the party and hookup lifestyle that she once partook of. The aching desires and raw emotions that Aubrey, the protagonist, experiences in the story felt authentic. True to reality, Aubrey spends a large portion of the book craving change while struggling to leave her way of life. While the novel calls out excessive drinking and casual sex as wrong, the story points to love, acceptance, and transformation found in the arms of Jesus. It has the feel of a devotional wrapped in a fictional narrative.

One Transforming Love by Erin Elise Kiu entertains while offering truth and hope for change. While likely intended for young women caught between the party scene and a longing for something more, it can benefit a woman of any age struggling with such issues. I love One Transforming Love’s beautiful cover and recommend it for ages 16+ due to content.

110% RECOMMENDED!! I finished it in some weeks just because it was so reliable! I loved the way Erin writes it was fun and I couldn't stop reading. It was like looking at myself and feeling understood for the first time. The questions she kept repeating: Why? Why God? Why it is so hard to find love. What's wrong with me? Why no guy wants to date me or have a serious relationship?. Why do I go out, meet guys at bars or on dating apps and have fun but then I still feel so empty inside? Finally, I understood that I wasn't the only one feeling like that, with social media, dating apps, and our culture it seems like I was the only one failing in this "love" area. But Erin's story helped me see that I could actually choose, that I could actually have a different life full of love and with a purpose. This book is life-changing!

Erin Elise Kiu’s new novel One Transforming Love tells the story of Aubrey, a late-twenties manager working in public accounting who has decided it’s time to stop looking for love in all the wrong places and discover her life purpose. Aubrey has recently moved to San Diego from Chicago, and she is hoping to find a decent boyfriend and new friends, as well as move on from her past mistakes. Although raised in a Christian family, Aubrey never really listened in church or understood about the concept of what God was calling her to do. She let drinking and dating distract her, but now she wants to start over and discover the plans God has for her.

Two things happen for Aubrey soon after she moves to San Diego. She begins going to church and talking to her Christian friend, Tina, about God, and she meets Jake, an attractive man who lives on the beach not far from her.

Aubrey and Jake begin seeing each other, and she feels very attracted to him. Even though Jake is eight years older than her, Aubrey enjoys his company and feels they could be a good match. She is understanding when Jake explains that he’s getting divorced, and she is willing to believe he could be ready for a serious relationship once he moves on from his divorce. Like her, Jake obviously wants to start over and Aubrey is willing to give him a chance. After all, Aubrey has made her own mistakes, having gotten herself into trouble as a result of drinking too much at a work party that led to her probation.

Unhappy in her job and in her past relationships, Aubrey attempts to create a new life for herself, trying to figure out what God wants her to do with her life and how Jake can be a part of that life. However, the more she tries to seek God and do the right thing, the more it seems like the people around her want to lead her astray.

I won’t give away more of Aubrey’s story, though I will tell readers this novel has an unexpected happy ending that manages to avoid all the clichés. Throughout the book, I was cheering Aubrey on to find love and feeling sorry for her when she made a mistake or things didn’t work out how she wanted, and I felt inspired by how she never gave up. Her ultimate decision to turn things over to God and let him find the solutions for her comes realistically as a result of her pain and frustrations.

Author Erin Elise Kiu has created a realistic novel that never falls into preachiness or cheesiness. Instead, she depicts a situation so many young people go through as they try to navigate their lives amid the conflicting messages they receive from society and their peers. In many ways, the novel can be summed up by this one passage: “Aubrey needed more. She didn’t need any more party boys in her life, but she didn’t know what she did need.” The novel’s purpose is to explore what Aubrey needs and lead her to answers that may be as surprising for the reader as for Aubrey.

The novel is based in solid Christian teaching, and Kiu plants in it several resources for the reader in the form of the books Aubrey reads or blogs she visits. The story depicts a modern-day version of the Christian’s journey which is surprisingly not that different from the journeys of Christians in biblical times who tried not to be drawn into the ways of the world as they sought to follow Christ.

I think One Transforming Love is a novel anyone will be able to relate to. It is perfect especially for the teenage girl to thirty-something woman who is unhappy with her life and wants to find answers to make it more meaningful. It would be a wonderful gift especially for new Christian women and others seeking God who need to know they don’t have to live a life that consists of drinking and dating men who won’t marry them. In these pages, they will not only be entertained by the story but find solutions to their own spiritual dilemmas.

One Transforming Love is a beautiful story of God's redeeming grace, love, and patience while He waits on us to submit to a life following Him. As I was reading this, I could totally connect with Aubrey's character. I made so many mistake before submitting to Christ, which by the way was as a young adult. As I'm reading Aubrey's story (which for the record really read more as an auto biography for me than a fiction story - I want to connect with the author and see how much she added for story purposes), I could see myself in almost all of the situations. And honestly, I think that is fantastic. This book can help adults, and young adults alike (there is some content I find is not appropriate for those under the age of 18-21).

Kiu makes Aubrey an honest, raw character. Yes she wants to follow Christ, but she also struggles with things she shouldn't do. And don't we ALL have that issue!? Like I mentioned, there is some content that some may find disturbing - drinking, partying, drugs and sex are all mentioned, although not in graphic detail - however is it pertinent to the story and the growth of Aubrey. I prefer that Kiu kept Aubrey realistic in all of these avenues for a couple of reasons. 1 - readers can connect. Lost people will connect. 2 - it creates dimension to the story. And 3 - as a reader you see just how powerful and merciful God really is.

If you're a reader looking for something a little different then your textbook fiction story, I think you'll find this novel to be something you enjoy. And I hope it is such an encouragement to you! I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

God is pursuing you for a life of so much more!

Aubrey moved to San Diego hoping for a fresh start, but finds that life isn’t much different. She traded snow boots for flip flops, but finds her toes in the same situations that left her running from Chicago.

She prays and attends church, but drinking and casual sex fill her nights and weekends, leaving her empty inside the next morning. Can you relate? If so, this book will reassure you that someone understands what you are going through!

After reading this book, you’ll be encouraged to know that God is pursuing you for a life filled with so much more than drinking and pre-marital sex can give you. This story is near to Erin’s heart as it’s based on how she found the One Transforming Love and how it changed everything.

Erin shares her story, but she doesn’t leave you hanging. At the end, she shares how you can discover your own transforming love and an invitation to join her community of like-minded women.

This book spoke to me in so many ways! I’m the girl who was called Jesus freak growing up and I’ve always loved that title, but I struggle with myself. I’m a big hopeless romantic and I am saving myself for marriage but lust is something that I struggle with and one of the main reasons I think is because I struggle with the idea that someone could actually love me for who I am. I’m on the heavier side which I’m actually working on, I have a loud personality, and I feel like I can be to much. On pg 324, where God was speaking to her really spoke to me, and the way she mentioned Girl Defined and I have one of their books on my tbr to read this month, I feel like God is going to bring me to a place I’ve never been and I’m so grateful for that. THANK YOU JESUS!

I enjoyed this book. There were times where I struggled with decisions that Aubrey was making, but that is because at one point I was just like her making the same dumb decisions. The author managed to write a book that is so real and relatable. I think this book has the potential to have an impact on readers, especially younger women. This book has such a great message in it. I would really encourage people to read this just for the message alone. This book could really speak to you.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

I loved this story and how the author tackled real life issues facing young women today! This book talks about choices and how they effect our lives, but how with God's redeeming love we can heal and experience all he has in store for us.
I did not want the story to end! Great story and great story telling. Can't wait for another book by Erin.

The writing was great, I was hoping Aubrey would find a Christian man and fall in love, but this ending was a happy ending for Aubrey as well. It was a good lesson not to have sex with someone you're not dating. I'm looking forward to see more Christian books with a similar theme
