Workship: Recalibrate Work and Worship

Rate this book
The workplace needs the Good News, yet the church has done little to equip professionals on how to be salt and light in the workplace. Much of this disconnect is based on a misinterpretation of Scripture. Patrick brings us back to the original Hebrew and Greek languages to gain a fuller understanding of God’s view of work and worship. With this understanding, he offers numerous ideas on how we may recalibrate our practices both in the workplace and in the church. The workplace requires the integration of our work and worship—workship—to draw people to Christ. This eye-opening book will draw you closer to God and His understanding of what it means to be a witness for Jesus.

Great read that makes you rethink what you believe about work and ministry. Using Biblical texts and examples, the author examines what the Bible teaches about work and worship. He explains the relevance of this concept in our generation and how it could revolutionize the way we live. Loved it!

2.5 stars. This book is a defense for B4T orBAM in general. Illustrations used are from his experiences in BAM. Overall, he claims to be offering an alternative way but talks of B4T in a way that downplays other missions and is the new way that things need to be done. He flattens work and worship in a way that overcorrects the exaggerated dichotomy that exists today in a way that devalues the uniqueness of gathered worship. Bible vereses seem to be picked out in a way that is convenient for his use and does not do full justice to the full counsel of scripture. He could add more legitamcy to his argument if he addressed and pointed out some of the negatives of BAM in comparison to traditional missions. There is good stuff in this book but there are several others books that cover this topic in a more helpful way.
