Callie Rae blew me away yet again with the second book of this trilogy. Book 1 left me hanging and I not so impatiently waited for book 2! It’s edgy. It’s sweet. It’s dangerous. It’s oh so angsty. The characters are amazing.. and not just the main characters. The side characters are fantastic too and this story wouldn’t be the same without them.

When Shadows Fracture is so well written and it captivated me. I devoured this in one sitting. There’s so much happening and so many hidden possibilities as to where and how the story goes. It definitely left me on the edge of my seat.

Callie Rae crafts a hell of an emotional rollercoaster story with suspenseful drama, and a strong theme about unity, friendship, family, relationship and love. This story kept me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, not knowing how things were going to turn out. And that shocking ending almost killed me. I need book three now!

HOOOLLLYYY HELL... WHAT JUST HAPPENED? Yes I am yelling. My stomach is in knots and my heart is racing. This story gives the biggest adrenaline rush. I feel like I just drank a pot of coffee. Help!

Jesse and Fallon’s story continues in book two. Fallon has been taken and a Jesse will do ANYTHING to get her back especially knowing that evil POS Marcus is out in the world. Eek. So intense, my emotions were all over the place for the majority of this book.

Jesse won’t give up and Fallon is the true definition of a survivor. I love how creative Jesse gets in his search and Fallon is strong through all kinds of abuse. Yep a special place in hell should be created for one of the characters. My blood is boiling thinking about it.

Plan for secrets to be revealed. You will never guess either. Your mind will be blown. OMG... this book is crazy good. I need book three STAT. YIKES. I can’t take the not knowing. I need a spoiler room to discuss all.

Enjoy the angst... Happy Reading Everyone!

This book is the conclusion to When Shadows Follow, written by @callieraeauthor It is a crazy, roller coaster ride that picks up very soon after the end of the first book!
When Shadows Fracture wasn’t as steamy as the previous book, but the emotions were strong and the secrets were insane!

“You can do whatever you want to me. But just know that I’ll be imagining it’s him the entire time. His touch, his face, his everything. I’ll imagine it’s Jesse, because he owns my soul...”

When Shadows Fracture by Callie Rae is a New Adult, high school, suspense romance, is the second book in the Cherry Creek Series, and is told in duel POVs. Please note this book does end with a cliffhanger.

I’ve been looking forward to read since book one finished on a cliffhanger. There were some parts of this book I really enjoyed, mainly the parts that were told from Fallon’s POV. I found her character easy to connect with and enjoyed her character development.
However with that being said I struggled to connect with Jesse’s character in this book which really surprised me, considering I loved him in the previous book. Overall I found this an enjoyable read and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

*Please note: Some readers may find some elements of this book triggering*

Thank you to Callie Rae for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Rating: 3.5 stars.

Jesse's freaking out. His girl is missing. In order to get her back, he makes a deal with the devil, the last person he wants to be around - his father. Yep...

Meanwhile Fallon's with her own devil. Will she make it out alive? She's waiting for Jesse. She knows he'll come for her. The question is, will he make it to her in time? Or will she take her last breath waiting for him?

Holy shit! This is such a crazy ass series. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see how everything would play out. Jesse is so in love with Fallon and will do absolutely ANYTHING and EVERYTHING for her, to get her back. Including sacrifice himself. How's that for love? And Fallon, damn, that girl just cannot catch a break. I feel for her so much. Now I just have to wait for book 3 to find out what happens because that cliffhanger is horrible. I hope the next installment releases sooner rather than later!!

ARC via author for an honest review.

Book 1 left me hanging and I so very impatiently waited for book 2. I've now finished book 2 and here I am again, waiting very impatiently for all the goodness I know book 3 will hold. But I keep chanting in my head "give it to me now" lol!

Jesse and Fallon found what seems to be a once in a lifetime connection. After all the crap Fallon has gone through in her past she certainly deserves all the love. After all the crap Jesse's father has put him through he certainly deserves all the love. Thankfully they found each other. However Fallon's past seems to have followed her and it is fracturing the happiness they have found together.

Jesse's unwavering strength and determination to get his girl back had me turning the pages as fast as I could read until the very end. That cliffhanger will darn near bring you to your knees. Callie Rae has proven she knows how to draw her readers in and keep their attention. I'm sure book 3 will bring us nothing short of an amazing conclusion. However, I'm sitting here cursing the author for leaving me wanting more and wishing she writes faster.

This F*CKING book/series is a dead of me!

This book was given to me as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I’d give it a 100/10 ⭐️ + 100 heartbreaks!

The author, Callie, warned me that I might die while reading this one and she wasn’t kidding! I’m dead and I don’t know what to do.

Let me get something straight here, I got this book today a few hours back and I finished it the same day.

This book as the previous one gripped me and didn’t let go. Honestly I was kind of scared if I’ll love the second, because sometimes the first book can be amazing and then it goes downhill...but not with this one! This one was pure fire! 🔥

I loved it, I loved it and I loved it!

From the moment I started reading each chapter to the end, I was all in!

Gosh, you do need to read this one! I can’t wait for the third and last book in this series, because it just destroyed my life and I need a repair and desperately!

Thank you Callie Rae for this amazing book series!

4.5 wth just happened stars!!

This is book two in the “Cherry Creek” series and can not be read as a stand alone. Be prepared for one hell of a cliffhanger.

Omg I devoured this book. I was hooked after book one. These crew of people have me so invested!

Jesse is broken without Fallon and damn it if Fallon isn’t one of the strongest females I have read about in her young years. I am impressed with these characters. Shit I am impressed with this author.

I think it got a little slow in the middle and that would be my only complaint. Something inside me wants to know more about Marcus. I know he is an abuser and a POS but damn it something in me wanted more.

Once again there were twists you did not see coming. This author has done a kick ass job on this series and I can’t wait for the next book!!

Book two picks up from that massive cliffhanger and we delve right into the action. Before you go any further here's the big warning .... prepare yourselves to be left hanging for the next book .

Jesse and Fallon found each other and should be feeling happy and secure but outside forces are plotting against them. The storyline is fast paced but easy to follow. Callie has upped the game emotionally I felt I was ready for anything she threw at me but the secrets and revelations took me by surprise. Fallon shows her inner strength yet again, I can't help wondering how much more fight she has in her. Jesse shows his love for Fallon by his actions one in particular will have serious repercussions for them all. Callie has built an unforgettable storyline and the writing only gets better. I am on now on pins and needles waiting on the next book.

When Shadows Fracture is book two in the Cherry Creek series. You must read book one, When Shadows Follow first. This one picks up where When Shadows Follow left off. Fallon's past has caught up with her and she must deal with crazy Marcus. Fallon is strong as ever and when I think she should be playing nice she never wavers and gives in. She not is a good place for her safety in this one. Jesse, Cason, and Jade are all trying to find Fallon. Jesse although he is a tough guy , he's falling apart and taking it hard. There are some secrets revealed and some choice made in this one. I thought that there would be some happy at the end of this one but no it's a heart wrenching cliffhanger.

I love a good romantic suspense. This series is follows Fallon & Jesse with a few other important characters, and their senior year of high school. They are on the verge of graduating. The book opens up pretty much exactly where Book 1 left us hanging. Right when Jesse and Fallon's relationship is taking off, walls are down, the trust is there, they were finally admitting feelings to each other, Fallon has been kidnapped. Jesse is so desperate to find her. This book had my attention from beginning to end. I devoured it. There was so many unexpecting moments, the desperation to find her, you sort of felt it. Fallon is just living a nightmare. She clings onto hope that someone would find her. I neeeeeeeed Book 3 ASAP!

Oh my God!! Callie you are killing me!! How am I supposed to sleep til book 3 comes out?!?!
This book picks up where when shadows follow leaves off ..I had been anxiously awaiting this one because of the cliffhanger..and it did not disappoint.. of course now I’m going to hounding Callie to read book 3!
When Fallon gets kidnapped, Jesse will not stop til he finds her.. unfortunately when that happens other things are at play and Marcus ( the unhinged ex) isn’t so willing to let her go.,
This book ends on another cliffhanger that will probably keep me up tonight .. but it’s so good and so well written.. you also get caught up with Jade, Casen, Jordan and Jax ..
I love this series so much !!

Another hit from Callie Rae. Why am I just now reading this author? This story started exactly where book 1 ended. Fallon being kidnapped by Marcus. And this is where we see how much Jesse and Fallon have grown as a couple as well. Jesse would do anything for his woman. ANYTHING. And in the end, Fallon would do anything for her man. There were tons of twists and some crazy dark things happening I didnt expect. But that cliffhanger was rough. Cannot wait for book 3! 5 stars

I, um... I might need therapy after THAT cliffhanger. Seriously? This one was harder to stomach than the first.

Anyway-my emotional turmoil aside-this book was absolutely riveting. The heartache, pain and angst were palpable. The longing, the love and the sacrifices hurt to read.

Jesse, Jade, Cason and Fallon have definitely found residence in my heart and I'm eagerly awaiting the next book.

Book one, When Shadows Follow ended on the cliff hanger of all cliff hangers. I’ve been waiting and waiting for book 2 and here it is and then I read “This book is cursed. Enter at your own risk.” Great just great I know this book is going to kill me and.......

Omg it did. It’s so good. I mean my heart bleeds for Fallon and Jesse and Cason and Jade, but it is so good. I devoured this book. Fallon is one bad a%* woman I’m just going to say that right there.

I’m not going to say much more but you are in for another cliffhanger folks. It’s totally going to be worth it. I guess now we wait for book 3.

My heart is pounding so hard I might have a full blown coronary. WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!

When Shadows Fracture, book two in the Cherry Creek series, picks up right where we left Jesse, Fallon, Cason and Jade at the end of book one; with the Calloways unaware that their whole world is being swept away and turned upside down outside a barn in the middle of the night.

Much like its title, this book is full of fractures as things fall apart around our main characters. Fallon, our beautifully broken survivor, is gone; in the hands and at the mercy of the deranged murderer, Marcus, whose mind is as broken as his moral compass. Jesse, the protector with a heart of gold, is falling to pieces as he attempts to balance the weight of the world on his shoulders. With the help of sweet, fierce Cason, Jesse is determined to rescue the love of his life while his twin sister, Jade, is fighting to hold the pieces of those she loves together, and bring her best friend home, too.

Things aren't always what they seem in Cherry Creek, but one thing that remains true is Marcus is a VILE human being, and my heart hurt watching Fallon endure and survive his particular brand of twisted, insane obsession. But true to herself as always, Fallon is the one thing in Cherry Creek that doesn't break easily, and she won't go quietly into the night.

The waves of chaos kept coming in WSF and I was on the edge of my seat nearly the whole book. I can't wait to read book three, and my mind is going to keep coming back to Cherry Creek until I know what happens next!

I should have heeded Callie's warning at the beginning of the book that said "This book is cursed. Enter at your own risk." Did I listen though? Nope. I did not.

When Shadows Fracture is the sequel to When Shadows Follow and it follows immediately after the events in the first book. Jesse has gone to get a drink and in the mean time Fallon has been kidnapped by her crazy ex-boyfriend Marcus. Things are not looking good at all.
I don't want to go back to a world without her in it. There's no way I would survive, not after knowing what having her is like.

I loved Jesse and how frantic he was when he first realized that Fallon was missing. That being said, I did feel like he did not do enough to find her. It felt like he was too busy getting drunk and getting into fights, then once in a while following some leads. He also did not think to question the one other person in their school who has gotten somewhat close to Fallon. That was a bit strange. He supposedly had all this power but he did not use it in order to find Fallon. In the end he resorted to making a deal with the devil which would not make things end well for neither him nor Fallon once she is rescued. I wonder what is going to happen with that in the final book.

Marcus is a loose cannon and I felt to bad for Fallon to have been captured by a mad man. He seriously has few screws loose, but kudos to Fallon for keeping a level head. While there were times where she almost lost hope, she kept on fighting and that was really admirable. It was really heartbreaking to see her keeping it together by thinking of her time with Jesse. Those flashbacks really pulled at your heart-strings, only then to be cruelly reminded that they are just memories and that the reality is very much dire.
I also loved how she is protective of the ones she loves and hows far she was willing to go in order to protect them.

I loved Cason and Jade and how they did everything in their power to help Jesse find Fallon. That is what you call family. When they are there for the bad times. There is a new character introduced called Narni and there is something going on between her and Cason, though it came out a bit out of the blue. Have not decided yet how I feel about her just yet, whether she is a friend or a foe. I suppose we will find out in book three. But there is definitely something fishy going on with her.

When Shadows Fracture ends on one heck of a cliffhanger and I honestly cannot wait for the book three to find out what happens. I hope we won't have to wait too long, because if there is one thing I hate, it's waiting for book releases following a cliffhanger. That is honestly the worst form of torture, but definitely one worth suffering! So if you like high school romance that is a bit on the dark side, I definitely recommend picking up this gem! Though make sure to read When Shadows Follow first.

When Shadows Fracture.

This book is going to take you on a rollercoaster of emotions, it has ups and downs, and you’re going to love it.
The book starts when we left off, just this time is Jesse’s POV, I was totally dying to get on his head since book one, because let’s be honest, there’s this mystery surrounding him and his family.
I got to see Fallon with other eyes as well, last book, I must admit I was hard for me to connect with her, something just didn’t click, but in this one, I just wanted to hug her, and tell her that I was so damn proud of her, and her fight.
Jesse on the other hand, had me half the time wanting to slap some sense into him, and the other part just wanted to hug him and tell him that it was ok not to have all the answers, because he is just a kid, and he’s growing.
There were moments when I felt so frustrated and stressed, and then I remember they are not adults, they are high school kids, and are literally are trying to survive this the best way they are able to, in those moments I just felt so connected to them, because no one has their life figure it out at that age.
Things I loved, CASON, that guy is just in my heart, my mind, and I just want him to be happy, I will admit I got a little mad at him at the beginning but then he made up for it. I’m still waiting for his book.
I felt like I needed a little bit more of Jade, God, I love that girl. She is strong headed, and is going to give us surprises as the time passes.
I love that I got to see Jesse on his week state, because I can feel that everything he was put through in this book, it’s going to make him stronger in the third book, I got to see him being human, and vulnerable, and I love it.
Fallon, as I said before, was my surprise, that girl is so damn strong, I got to see her character development in this book, I just love her and respect her more.
I mean I was dying by the end of the book, and then, Callie drop a major bomb on us, and I literally screamed, because one I didn’t see it coming, and two, that is going to make book three a lot more intriguing.
The very end had me mad, at first, but I can understand why it ended the way it did, it showed that even though Jesse and Fallon haven’t been together long, they love each other madly, and it was showed in multiples occasions.
Loved the flashbacks, and the romantic scenes.
There are characters I don’t totally love and I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in this one, Jesse’s Dad, Marcus and Jason are at the top of my list right now.
So, that’s basically me reviewing this book.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

When Shadows Fracture picks up right where it's predecessor left off, and we rejoin Fallon on her quest to create a new happier life, one that doesn't have anything to do with ex. But as we quickly learn her quest has hit a little snag, and she is now being held captive in a dark dingy basement by her ex Marcus. What started as a fun night out with friends quickly became something dangerous and tragic. Her captor was lurking in the shadows waiting for the perfect moment to grab her, so when she went to check on a friend and he discovered she was finally alone he made his move.

Now Jesse and their friends are going crazy with worry and doing all they can to find her, but it is proving to be quite a challenge for them. Marcus did a good job covering his tracks, and he doesn't intend to give her back. Will Jesse find her in time, or will Marcus finally have what he has wanted all along?

I cannot wait to see how this one all plays out especially after that gut punching cliffhanger... I really hope happiness lies ahead for these two. The people closest to them have been keeping secrets, and they have faced so many challenges just to be together, so naturally their ending should be a little easier right? This has been quite an addictive action-packed and heart-wrenching journey so far, and I can only hope the third installment will follow suit. If you like dramatic and highly emotional stories then I have no doubt you will love what lies amongst the pages here... it is impossible to meet these characters and not feel something for them! Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

3.5 Suspenseful Stars

When Shadows Fracture is the second book in the Cherry Creek trilogy and picks up right where When Shadows Follow left me hanging on that terrible cliffhanger. Yet again I was entranced by Callie's writing and I couldn't wait to see where she was taking us on this wild ride!

Jesse and Fallon have finally settled into their relationship but it isn't long before tragedy strikes. Fallon gets kidnapped and is being held captive by her ex, Marcus. Jesse is on a mission to find his girl and bring her home safe, at any cost.

While this book was a page turner and full of suspense, my biggest complaint is there was very little plot progression. 90% of the book was Jesse searching for Fallon and we basically end up where we started. That being said, the time apart allowed for a lot of character development for both Jesse and Fallon. Fallon continually proved her strength and determination over and over again while faced with the brutality of Marcus. Jesse made sacrifices and showed his growth through his actions and more than proved his love for Fallon.

This series has a wonderful cast of secondary characters as well. I think there could be some stories developing there too. I really loved the flashback scenes of Fallon and Jesse and how she used his love as the strength she needs to get through everything. Overall, I rated it 3.5 stars. I really enjoyed the story but there were a few things I didn't like. I think the violence Fallon endured was a bit over the top, to the point that the nurse in me cringed, wondering how long someone could actually survive beatings of that nature and continue to go on with the physical strength she displayed. As I stated earlier, there was little plot progression and that was frustrating.

Holy Hell! I'm sure Callie Rae was trying to give me a heart attack while reading. I was on the edge of my seat during this book. I could not read the words fast enough. My heart was beating so fast and my stomach was in knot, and my heartbreaking. Callie Rae had me a complete mess.

When Shadows Fracture picks up right where book one leaves off. Fallon's past is here and worst than ever. While what she went through before was hell, this is worse. And again I'm trying not to give anything away because going in blind I loved. But the more time she spent missing the more anxiety I got.

The collected, put together, never so emotions Jesse Calloway is cracking. With everyday they can't find Fallon, he's slipping a little more. While everyone wonders if she left Jesse knows she wouldn't have walked away from her mother.

When Shadows Fractures is intense, painful, and all consuming. With every page of this book I needed another. And each page brought another hit to my heart. Fallon and Blake were both suffering, but in very different ways. Fallon was fighting for the life of the people she loves. She's so strong and refuses to let him win when it's her but threaten the people she's loves.

Callie Rae delivered a fantastic second book in this series. It was filled with anxiety inducing, heartbreakingly, painful moments. But filled with love. The love that Jesse and Fallon have for each other without realizing is amazing.

When Shadows Fracture is another amazing book from Callie Rae. From start to finish I couldn't get enough. This book was everything it needed to be to follow When Shadows Follow and more. I am dying for book 3!I might need it more than air.

This is the Rae's sophomore full length book, and the second book in the Cherry Creek series, and I have to say this book continues to be a breath of fresh air to the bully / dark; YA / NA genre.

This book starts where book number two left. Fallon is gone, and Jesse, along with Jude and Cason are on the hunt for where she went. The first book took the time to set up the characters, and this book focused on what life is like for Fallon and Jesse when she is gone. Callie's ability to flow from one character to the other is impeccable along with keeping the story moving forward. This book takes place over a very small window of time. However because their lives are parallel, but not together it takes a whole book to make the reader see what is truly going on in both worlds.

My heart is broken for these two characters who have finally come together, but got ripped apart by outside forces. Fallon continues to be a very strong, and wonderful character. He ability to continue to persevere even in this hard time truly is a testament to how resilient she really is. Jesse finally has someone to live, and be better for. He can't just let her go no matter who is telling him to give up. Cason, and Jude continue to be strong supports for Jesse, and looking for Fallon. They receive unexpected support, and I can't wait to see how things play out for this side story that seems to be developing.

If you haven't taken a chance on this author PLEASE do so. Cherry Creek is shaping up to be one of my favorite series of the year.

The second book in the Cherry Creek Series is finally here! I have been patiently waiting for this book to drop since I read the first book in the series back in MARCH! And it was definitely worth the wait!

This book is NOT a standalone! You will need to read the first book – When Shadows Follow – before this one!

Much like the first book, this one tore me into pieces, and then dropped me like a bad habit with the cliffhanger. Yep, another cliffhanger. This series is a trilogy that is all about Fallon and Jesse.

I won’t give anything away because this is a new release, and I am kind of still speechless after the rollercoaster this book put me on, but if you are looking for a romantic suspense that has you holding on for dear life because you know you are about to take the ride of your life, then this series is for you.

I have a serious hatred for cliffhangers, like SERIOUSLY HATE THEM, but when they are done right, they leave me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book to come out. And that is exactly where I am… on the edge of my seat NEEDING THAT FINAL BOOK!

Callie Rae is a genius and the power of her words will leave you utterly breathless as she takes you for the ride of your life. Fallon and Jesse will tear you to pieces as you watch them throughout the book, fighting for each other.

Five stars for the thrilling second book of this series that will you on the edge of your seat, sitting on pins and needles and NEEDING things to work out… and then when it’s all said and done… all you can say is WOW!
