Flemming is proof that even the strongest of women who can usually spot a f’boy a mile away can still, unknowingly, get caught up with one. Jeremy straight up hoodwinked and lied to her but, by the time she figured it out, it was too late. Flemming closed her practice and uprooted her life to move across the country from Cali to North Carolina just to become a single mother to her married “boyfriend’s” baby. Now, don’t y’all start judging my girl. In her defense, Flemming didn’t know Jeremy’s triflin’ azz was married until after she moved to North Cackalacky. He hid that little tidbit of information very well. There were plenty of red flags waving in her face but, love is blind and she chose to stick her head in the sand and ignore them. But, after that disrespectful shyt Jeremy pulled at the hospital, Flemming’s rose colored glasses finally fell off and she put them paws on him, gave him her azz to kiss, and moved on with life as if he never existed. Let me tell y'all how he could NOT handle that. Jeremy's azz refused to go quietly into the night but, we'll get into that a little later. As they say, when one door closes another one opens. While trying to sooth her screaming newborn in Target, a sexy African Polynesian God comes to the rescue. Lawd, Naz Leota was EVERYTHING! That man was a walking billboard for BDE with a heavy dose of sexiness. Whew! From the moment he saw Flemming and Scout, he knew what he wanted and was all in from go. And, his family was so accepting of them. They immediately embraced Flemming and Scout as one of their own. Flemming has her HEA in the palm of her hand until Jeremy’s narcissistic, I refuse to accept accountability for my actions, and it’s everyone else’s fault but my own azz tries to snatch it away from her. That man was a hot azz coke snorting mess that ruined everyone’s lives. Jeremy turned out to be worse than Flemming could’ve imagine but, that’s okay because he eventually got his. Just not in the way I would’ve liked. Love’s Octagon was a great read. The author weaved a beautiful love story full of romance, sex, drama, cliffhangers, and climaxes. That ending definitely had me lookin’ at Manu all upside his head. Really dude?!!!

Another hit, ma'am! Flemming was such a sweetheart, and I felt for her, after finding out how she was manipulated by Jeremy. Being the boss that she is, taking care of her son and building her business became her priorities. Flemming meeting Naz in Target, was a game changer. This man was everything right from the beginning! From his large family welcoming her in, to everyone loving Scout, she hit the jackpot with him. Jeremy was straight trash, and is a whole bih, for what he did! 😡 I could not believe the lengths that he went with his anger, over his own stupid actions! But angel Naz was there with Flemming, every step of the way. Their love was just beautiful. NOW, what the hell happened to Manu? Did he bump his head in the octagon? Why would he try Tonia like this? Whew! Cannot wait for the next one to see what happens? 👍👍👍

🥰😩❤️🤯

Chillleee these brothers are something else 🥰❤️ as usual this author continues to think outside the box when it comes to her story telling. I feel in love at the very beginning. My mouth dropped a couple times towards the end and Lord knows Manu has stressed me completely out but it was worth! You’re truly missing out if you haven’t read a book by this author

Good read

I thoroughly enjoyed Flem and Naz’s story. It moved quickly and got to the point just how I like it. 😆 There were a couple of jaw dropping moments that frazzled my nerves a bit, but I loved every minute of that. Great job.

Let's take it to the Octagon

Samson Naz Leota and Flemming Anderson story was so hot, a bit tragic, yet nothing but Love. Give me a Leota man anyday, okay😏.

I love the whole MMA aspect of the book. The Leota men don't play in the Octagon and I love how it's truly a big ole family affair when it comes to anything with them. Samson or Naz, could've kept it right on moving when he heard Flemming having a hard time with her baby, but he stepped in to help and the rest is history. His mom, having had 12 kids of her own, took to Flemming's son as if she'd known him for years and instantly deemed him her grandson. When Flemming's ex tried to kill her, Naz whole family took it hard and they'd only known her for just a few months at that time. The natural flow between Naz and Flemming was so good to read. I loved it all.

Flemming was a successful orthodontist, with her own practice, so I was confused at first why she'd leave a city she already had semi roots in to be with her boyfriend; not husband to be or fiance, but boyfriend. Then, once said boyfriend finds out she's pregnant, he ghost her. Then to add insult to injury, he signs away his rights to the baby. Then, after confronting him a few weeks after having their son, he tells her he's married and his wife will leave him if he has an outside kid🤨. Mind you, by this point he has more than 5 other kids🤦🏾‍♀️; dude was beyond delusional. I'm glad Flemming just left him alone bc he wasn't worth her time. Although I'm glad her ex, Jeremy, wife divorced him and still wanted all of his children to be close, I was hoping for a happier ending for her. Jeremy was brutal and the way he did her, his other baby mama, then to Flemming was repulsive. He took the cowards way out by ending his own life.

Even with all the pain she endured, Flemming worked hard to recover and Naz never left her side. I truly hope they last a lifetime and that we'll see them in future books.

This was such a great start to the Leota clan. Can't wait for the next.

Another Mel Dau banger. Great read. Highly recommend.

A Bit Off

While a fan, the author's books are often times a hit or miss for me. I either really like a book, or end up forcing my way through to the ending.

I loved how Flem & Naz met, and the way his large family immediately took to her and Scout. Naz was definitely a bookbae with how he loved on Flem & Scout. Flem was a good one with how she handled Jeremy and her hurt. The way she looked out for Pru during such an intense moment is the stuff that brave women are made of. The storyline had so much potential and was going in such a great direction until the shooting.

It really needs to be reworked to clean up the editing issues regarding Flem's injuries, diagnosis, and the weird thing with her ONE kidney. I couldn't even read the parts about needing a transplant and Manu stepping up because it made zero sense! He could be left with one, but not Flem? Plus, some of the smaller details didn't work or add up.

It doesn't appear that the follow-ups will be any better so I'll skip them. I will however continue to read Ms. Dau's work because there are plenty of gems in her catalog. The writing and concepts are always good, but some of the books could have easily gone from 3 stars to 5 with just a little retooling by a good editor.

Mrs. Mel has done it again, she wrote this book. I am fully invested since it seems this is going to be a whole series on the unwed brothers. I am here for it all the drama, cliffhangers, and climaxes in her stories. Naz was a straight hero in the eyes of Flem. He really did step in right at the moment she needed him. It was ironic because Scout was attached from that point on.

Flem went through too much with her ex. Everything about him was basic even down to his name. He really was a coward. The love Naz's family showed her during her recovery swelled my 💜. They really went hard for her and welcome her in with open arms. She truly needed that because she had no biological family. The way Naz cared for Fleming there is no way you couldn't feel the love through the pages he has for her.

This was another magnificent, well written, well articulated book by Mrs. Mel. I am anticipating the next books in this series. The way Mrs. Mel made Naz and Flem an unbreakable bond by taking Naz's passion and turning it into Flem. The release Flem got from the octagon may have been more satisfying for her than him. I wholeheartedly recommend this book download and get into the Leota men.

Hummm…. The Leotas!!!!

This is a refreshing new brother series. Those Leotas man seems to be something else.
Samson is the epitome bae boyfriend. Handsome, patient, loyal and sensitive with a level head, he seems to be the most practical person ever.
Fleming was such a good match and wonderful person. Headstrong, independent, intelligent and educated, she was the best main female character for this story.
This was a story about two people meeting in a not so usual place who ended up clicking immediately regardless of any baggage’s they had ( which was more Flem than Naz).
In all it all worked out and everyone deserved what they got. Now I wasn’t going to read Manu and Tonia because I wanted to keep the illusion of a happy couple going on, but after this little synopsis in Flem’s epilogue, I am reading it as soon as possible….
Very hood job MS. Dau!!!!

Fated To Love You

Orthodontist Flemming Anderson uprooted her life in California and moved to North Carolina at the request of her long distance “boyfriend .” Almost two years later on the day God blessed her with a miracle, the rug was snatched from under her.

Naz Leota, is a retired MMA fighter and very successful fine ass businessman. While running an errand for his mother, he crosses paths with Flemming and their lives will never be the same.

Naz and Flemming journey to forever isn’t perfect or easy but worth it. The attraction and love they shared literally jumped off the pages. And the sex was hot!

Love’s Octagon, will make you laugh out loud, cry and angry. But the love remains. I enjoyed Naz and Flemming’s story and you will too.

Kudos Author Mel Dau.

so good! (spoilers)

I ended up reading about Tonia and Manu first and then Pru and Hemi. That happened because someone on fb recommended Tonia and Manu’s book and then I realized there were more. Regardless, they are all so good and I am flying through Mel Dau’s catalog so fast. I have been in the biggest book funk of my life so this is a plus for me.
Anyway! Jeremy was a clown ssa fool with so much audacity! What happened with Samantha hurt my heart. That fool was on a war path. This family! I love them so much! Their ritual before the fights, the way they comfort each other, how Manu came through for Flemming. I love Ma and Pa for being so accepting of their daughters in law. Just all around amazing books!

WOW

If I could give this 10 stars I would. Not sure how you come up with the names for your characters, I love them they are unique. Flemming and Samson/Naz. Flemming uprooted her life moved from the West Coast to the East Coast for the man of her dreams so she thought. Once she is there he is nothing like she thought he would be. She is now a single mother of a two month old and they are both having a meltdown in Target.😉😉 In step Naz to calm them both down. So the story begins. Kudos to the author👏👏👏👏👏. This story touches on adultery and jealousy. Loved how the author included references to God.

An okay read

Lost a star after reading the weird epilogue to this story that features Manu being confronted with his cheating. This is the same character that was soo in love with his wife and oh so honourable? I read romantic fiction for pleasure not for angst, drama and ghetto behaviour. After reading the excerpt from Manu’s story I definitely won’t be reading more in this series because it’s all trash and downhill from here. I can’t stand books that play into the tropes and drama of ghetto and unfaithful behaviour, especially when the characters are black folks! I’m done with this, next!!

GREAT READ

I see this series is going to be really good. Thoroughly enjoyed Naz and Flemming's story. I loved that Flemming was a woman who had her own and didn't need to depend on anyone. It just sucked that she was tied to Jeremy's lying, cheating and crazy behind. Naz came into her life at the perfect time and never left her side. He was definitely the man Flemming needed in her life to show her unconditional love. I loved how close the Leota family were. And the way they immediately accepted Flemming and Scout was beautiful. Looking forward to reading the drama of part two with Manu and Tonia. Overall a great read I highly recommend reading.

Prolific Swimmers

WITAH 🤯😮‍💨😬🥴🙂‍↔️🫣⁉️If at first you don’t succeed, we will NOT try, try again with your over enthusiastic, hyper aggressive, prolific swimmers‼️Now, somebody can’t count because at roll call that was definitely more than twelve🥴😬‼️But I certainly commiserate with your agony, selective recall or temporary insanity 🤦🏾‍♀️‼️Nonetheless, “Love’s Octagon”book 1 of this series was a great read. However, I’m just not trying to recall all of those 🤬siblings names, spouses and or their paramour. As required, book 1 Flem & Naz…Tonia & Manu unless he mysteriously falls victim to The First 48 🤷🏾‍♀️🤭⁉️

I absolutely loved this book! This author has a way of bringing characters to life and telling awesome, non predictable stories that is unbelievably amazing. Flemming was a real trooper and so sweet, and after dealing with Jeremy she definitely deserved everything that Naz offered. The love and support from Naz's family was heartwarming, and not only did Flemming find insta love, but she got an instant family and bestie! The fact that this is the first book of an upcoming series and has links to previous Mel Dau novels is a HUGE bonus!

Double blessings

What a beautiful story! From the way they met to the hardship they overcome, Naz and Flemming are made for each other. I love how Naz stepped up to help her in Target and then just never letting go. That store run was a bigger blessing than either of them realized. I hate what happened to Flemming and the others on behalf of a true fuk boy, who caused a lot of strife for his children. But God had his hands on Flemming and gave her double blessings as she stood in the fire and he brought her out. Now that ending though, lemme get to reading.

Those Leota Men

This is my first book by this author, but will not be my last. I love a story with strong family bonds and strong bonds of friendship. This story had both. I also, loved the relationship between Samson “Naz” and Flemming and little Scout. The way Naz’s family embraced Flem and Scout into their family was heartwarming. There were some typos, but it didn’t take away from the story. I can’t wait to read more about the Leota men and their lady loves. I highly recommend!

Leota Family - Naz and Flem

just finished - "Love's Octagon" by Mel Dau you can call me Sponge Bob because I am ready for Manu and Tania! Cause Why???

(And can we say the man on the cover and the Polynesian, Godt described within those pages is not that the same person. This is why I don't let myself get too distracted by covers or book descriptions. They hardly ever match up with the magic inside 🙄.)I digress!

Let's talk about what an on time blessing or happenstance Naz bumping into the overwhelmed Flem at the grocery store was. Just when she thought she was all alone, she gained a bestie in Tania, family, AND organ donors with Naz and he brought D too!!

This was a fast paced read with a few time jumps and a dash of shock and aww!

Will you fight for love?

Whew!! Naz and Fleming’s story was scorching with love, passion, and chemistry from the moment they meet until the end of the story. I don’t know where Mel is going with this series but I’m here for the entire ride. Naz is my new fav favorite book bae! Love’s Octagon is a beautiful story and a fantastic beginning to the series of brothers that will be causing palpitations for every reader .

Wow!!!! That Ending OMG

This book that and so much more. The way the author dealt with the issue of Kidney Transplant and being on Dialysis was on point. She made what Flemming was dealing with after being shot
very realistic and did not sensationalize it. Anybody reading this book would understand what Flemming and Naz where going through. I cannot wait for the 2nd book in this series. And I also like how Mel Dau incorporated the characters from her other books. Awesome!!!!

This story will have you wanting a love just like theirs!!

Naz is the epitome of book bae!! The fact that they took their time and he welcomed Scout as his own with open arms had me swooning from jump!! Flemming is definitely that chick. She just feel for a liar. The close knit vibes of the family makes you fall even more in love with Naz. I hope that the siblings get their own stories!! I cannot wait for the next one!!

The ending though....

Great launch to this series! Loved the chemistry between Samson and Flemming. Flemming's baby daddy was the ultimate fboy and what he did later in the book, whew! I loved Samson and his strong beautiful family. I wanted to be wherever they were. Despite the odds, love prevailed. That ending though, ooooh weee...Manu better watch out because Tonia is waging war. Can't wait for book 2.

That’s ending though🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

I can’t focus on how good the book was because the ending had me in sooooooo more suspense!!!🤔👀👀 I don’t know why Mel did us like that.

This book was a testament to it gets greater later. I loved Naz, he is definitely a man of all men. To love that woman and take on her baggage that early on did it for me. Great job but I definitely can’t wait to see what Tonia and Manu up to?!??!🤦🏽‍♀️

Really Good Stuff

The writer introduces us to another family that's just as loyal as the Washington's and Smiths. This was not only entertaining but it was just a funny. The writer lets you know right out the gate that this is going to be an fast paced high octane kinda story. I liked the fact that we get most of the story about the happy couple. We also get to visit with some old friends. Overall you are not going to be disappointed.

4.5 I enjoyed this and read it in one sitting. Fleming meets Naz and things are almost instant for them. In their short time together, they had to deal with a number of obstacles while building their foundation. I think the story moved well. love this family and the author didn't shy away from a few tough topics. I liked the cultural references and familial dynamics of the Leota family. I would recommend.

This book had me side eyeing a woman just showing up a families house with a young baby, but I realized that sometimes the comfort others bring you will have you doing things you normally wouldn’t do!!!…
This was a well written book and I love how this family embraced Flem and her baby boy!!!…
I really enjoyed it and was happy for both Flem and Tonia!!!…

These Leota Men

I read this saga all backwards but I’ll say this, each of the Leota brothers has stood tall on their love for their women. Nas was no joke about how he came at Flem. From first encounter he was all in with her. That non-baby daddy wasn’t right for the shenanigans he was pulling and I dont want to say it but he deserved what came his way. I an all invested in this family and can’t wait to read about these girls.
