And I hope it never ends. This third part is Honors ', or Calli's Riley, story. This world has expanded from earth to the Fae realm. Friends becoming family and expanding. The author's world and cast of characters , the continuity, the different points of view is all so seamless and no one is left behind. This author always delivers. I'm so afraid of turning away and missing something. I will probably still be devastated when I have to say goodbye. So if you're reading this review then I already know you're just as invested as I am. How could you not?
This book was alright. It had multiple povs that I loved. It jumped right in at the beginning with Honor waking up. I felt for her. I also think she had a right to be upset. Her brother and her were so close and she wakes up and finds him MARRIED! Many things happened while she was down and out. Her brother rushes in with his new bride who looks like she’s turning 12 according to the fmc. Her brother should have come in Alone. He should have known to come in alone with ppl she Knew. For all they planned, they didn’t plan that one out and I think she needed more time to come to grips about with his new “mates” including the dragon that dragged her back to the usurper queen. I don’t think they had any compassion towards how she would have felt waking up with enemies in the inner circle. I wish it was done differently, I may have continued the series but I can’t seem to get over this hump. It just didn’t sit well with me. It was described perfectly in the beginning, the fmc emotions well written. Her being saved by her brothers mate then the fmc eating crow by apologizing for her reaction didn’t sit well either. I think the fmc should have had more time to come to terms with her new queen not being a local in her realm. As well as her being so young (the new queen was 20) just didn’t feel right. I think the fmc needed more time to truly feel she could come to grips with her only sibling being married to someone she didn’t know. I know I would be Pissed if my brothers or sister got married without me there. Even a discussion about why they couldn’t wait for her to wake up, but this didn’t happen. I think this book would have excelled if the fmc had the time and more conversations. No one, took her side. She was just expected to get over it. They said they understood, but u could tell all of them were just defending her brother and his new mates. I don’t think I’ll be reading the next book.
My rating system * Didn't finish, would not recommend ** Finished book, but would not continue to read series or author *** Enjoyed book, will read more by same author **** Highly enjoyed, addictive read can't wait to get to next one ***** Phenomenal book, usually only given 1-2 a year. If you've read 1-8, you've probably got a lot of interest in Honor. Not to mention Lukas who has been doing a ton of heavy lifting since book one, but we've never heard directly from him. So read on, by be warned this is the last book published as of 08/21
This series is my first from JL Madore and I have to say that I am officially a FAN! I want to read all of her books! This series is amazing! And one of the BEST RH I’ve ever read. This book was the first in Honors part of the series…I absolutely loved it! I love how her story is unfolding and the surprise twists and turns! I preordered the next book! Can’t wait to see what happens next!
All the first book in the second wave third wave actually, possibly third arc of this Fais realm was awesome! I was a little concerned at the beginning was a little pissy about some attitudes, but it resolves in a timely incorrect manner. JL does an awesome job at weaving a story pulling you in and making you decide sleep is not quite so important. Here’s to reading more tonight
Very exciting, sooo much action happening, and new characters coming!
I truly felt that Honor was crawling her way out of the mess her life had become. And processing that the world had changed around her with Creed’s wife, The Queen, and his four mates. I got lost in her struggles; and the surprises didn’t stop there. I loved that the plot remained strong throughout her life story.
I’ve really been enjoying this series but I didn’t like Honor at all in this book. She was so rude, ungrateful and selfish. Which didn’t make sense to me after all she did to get her best friend to become the Phoenix. Her taking her frustration out on everyone around her who saved her life pissed me off. I know she finally came around in the end but by that time I already didn’t like her. The relationship with her guardians felt forced.
I really like the Guardians of the Realms characters and the story continues with Honor (Riley) recovering from her enchantment and coming to grips with what has happened in her absence. It would be easier if she had quiet time to do that but of course their enemies aren't about to stop pushing.
I was slightly nervous starting this book because I didn’t like the last harem all that much at all. Loved Callie & her guys though so I went ahead and gave it a try. I’m glad I did. Greatly entertaining, hot and plenty of adventures & action. Honor and her guys are definitely smoking hot together.
Honor is having a hard time after her abuse at the hands of the usurper queen. Lucas who is generally a tough nut, helped bring her out of her trauma. Lots of action and humour, and sext scenes. Loved it.
Honor is wake and sorting through years of emotional and physical attacks. She is trying to reconnect with her life but everything has changed and is changing rapidly. Can she sort everything out and help save her relm?
I enjoyed getting to know Honor more and Lukas as well! I feel like these next two books are going to be even more intense then this one. There is a threat that needs to be put down and an army to rebuild. I love this series
I started at book 1 two days ago and haven't stopped. This series is incredible and I can't wait to see how it ends. I'm excited to see where shadow fits in.
Not sure if I like her or not. Yeah I get her personality and what she represents but I don’t know. I am happy that Lucas finally gets his story told though.
