They believe it’s over. Then the ocean runs red…Cayman Brac, present day. Agent Bradley McCaide’s relief was shockingly short-lived. When the research vessel carrying a colleague previously infected by an alien life-form explodes, the Special Ops leader fears they hadn’t destroyed all the eggs infesting her body after all. And the nightmare escalates when the next day brings a gruesome discovery of a blood-soaked dinghy… and a picked-clean human skull.
Terrified the extraterrestrial hatchlings are on the rampage for more flesh, McCaide assembles a group of experts… oblivious to the sinister beings’ evolution into smarter, quicker, more ravenous creatures than ever before. And elsewhere in the Caribbean, an unsuspecting cruise ship edges toward crimson slaughter.
Can McCaide and his team stop the open seas from becoming a frenzied bloodbath?
VORACIOUS is the action-packed second book in the Alien Hunger horror series. If you like gory thrills, heart-stopping suspense, and courageous characters, then you’ll love Beverley Scherberger’s superbly scary sequel.
I was introduced to writing in the sixth grade when my English teacher told the class we'd be learning how to write short stories. I remember thinking, "Write a short story? I'm just a kid!" But I loved the experience and knew I wanted to keep on doing it.
Attending Miami University of Ohio at age 40 gave me the unique perspective of being older than most of the students and many of my professors. Not interested in who was dating who or what sorority was doing what, I concentrated on my studies and graduated summa cum laude.
After penning over 200 published non-fiction articles for various magazines and newspapers, I tried my hand at fiction and am now hooked. It's what I enjoy reading and have found I enjoy writing it, too.
Currently, I have one full-length novel ("STRANDED") and two novellas ("Saving Serena" and "Legacy of the Fallen Angel") for sale on Amazon. In addition, I have one novella based upon a movie script that will soon be released in theaters ("The Problem with Men"). What am I working on now? A prequel to "STRANDED" and another book based upon a movie script--"The Accidental Filmmaker." Stay tuned!
An unbelievable tale, but very credible. You will not put it down...
Spoiler alert: I always enjoy Calamari with a bit of sea salt sprinkled on top. This tale of gruesome killing and ingestion of humans by alien life-forms similar to earthbound octopi will grab your attention and refuse to release you until you have digested it entirely. I highly recommend it. Read swiftly and enjoy.
I have never ever in my life read a book that had absolutely no sex scenes and no swearing and still be horrifying and gross. This shows people like Clive Barker and Laurell K Hamilton you don't need that garbage to write an excellent book of horror. Thank you to the author I'm a new reader of yours and can't wait to dive into more of your excellent work your just a breath of fresh air
A fast, never a dull moment, creature horror story
This book is exactly what it says..."a thrilling alien horror story". The characters draw you into the storyline quickly. What's not to like? There are gory encounters as these aliens roam around and there are intense moments when these creatures are plotting an attack. This book would make a good movie.
These little aliens are tough son of a guns. Loved it, couldn't put it down. If you are new to this Alien Hunger series, you should probably read the first book in the series to understand the characters and monsters a little better, but this does stand as a good story on it's own. If there was a 3rd in the series I would read that too. Really enjoyable.
This was well paced and moved along smoothly. It was good to see a well edited novel with very few problems with continuity and structure. MS. Scherberger writes very well with a well organized and confident voice.
