Lots of spelling and sentence structure errors. A bit annoying. Goes from zero to sixty with the sex too which is a bummer. There was some chemistry but they both turn to mush the second half. Oh and it ends at 80% then there's 3+ chapters of the next book. Again. Annoying.
TROPES - Touch her and you die - Found Family - Forbidden Love - Past Trauma -Normal F/ paranormal creature
SPICE 🌶 4/5 (3-4 🍋 scenes)
Overall, I thought the book was pretty good. Female character meets a possessive demon that wants to keep her safe and for himself. There were a few spelling mistakes, but other than that it was good~! Definitely recommend for paranormal romance lovers ^^
This was surprisingly enjoyable because the characters were well developed. There was a lot of sex but as this for the most part, reflected more on the way the characters felt and it was a good plot so the whole a good read.
Years ago Jasmine was attacked by a demon but another demon, Arkon saved her and left her memories intact. Ever since then she's been in and out of mental hospitals and had debilitating panic attacks. No one believed her when she said Demons were real and she started to think she might really be crazy until one day Arkon shows up again because he feels the magic pouring off a magical dagger that Jasmine just happens to get for her antique store.
Arkon wants to find a way through the veil so he can get back to Hell and avenge his parents murder. The magical dagger that he feels a pull to would be just what he needed if the human female hadn't touched it, now all matter of demons are after her to get the dagger and he can't leave her in danger.
With the help of a witch and Arkon's brothers, they will try to keep Jasmine safe but the danger seems to be coming from all over so she's not as safe as they think she is.
I really liked Arkon, he's a demon but he falls hard for Jasmine and she in turn falls for him. Their relationship changes him for the better and he helps her realize that she's not crazy. These two were so good for each other and it was fun to watch them fall for each other. I'm looking forward to reading the next book and seeing his brothers find their mates and hopefully seeing more of the witch because she was interesting.
First if you're going to use the Zodiac in a book you should first know the difference between a Scorpio and a Taurus. A Taurus is not born on Halloween. They're born in the late April, and bulk of May time frame.
Second holy freaking typos, wrong words and half finished sentences.
Third instalove with no real relationship development between the lead characters. And it's not explained as a fated mate sort of thing either. Also no sort of resolution for the fact that the two species would likely have vastly different lifespans.
I mean the start was there for something potentially interesting but the follow through was lacking and if anyone actually edited this the author should ask for their money back.
Demons aren't real and I have definitely never seen one. Never hit one with my car. Extensive therapy and a relocation far from home has told me this....except he's back. He's in my house this time and he is very real. And very sexy. His human glamour does nothing for me...but the real him? I want him even though I know I shouldn't. He isn't interested in me, though. Just in the blade I have somehow managed to bind to myself that I found in my antiques shop. What is the worst that can happen knowing I am the only thing standing between a 7 ft demon and his revenge?
This book is another of my impulse purchases and I am not in the least bit sorry about it. I love paranormal romances and this is no exception. We jump back and forth between Arkon and Jasmine's perspectives in this book. The inner turmoil and their pasts unfolding slowly the more we get to know who they are now.
I enjoyed this book cover to cover and will likely end up reading the next in the series at some point. I have a feeling we will be getting more of Arkon's brothers further in the series and maybe more on a certain sexy witch. This is definitely a forced proximity romance. Arkon has to stay with Jasmine long enough to find a way to un-bind the knife that will allow him to get back to Hell. A friend of Arkon's is looking into unbinding options, but so far all she has is killing the human. Not the first choice. Needless to say the book is exciting with constant threats from other paranormals being drawn to the blades power and the building tension.
Except for the fact there was way too much hot hanky panky going on in the story for me, after all it had no story related dialog. The story itself was pretty good. I liked the characters and the descriptions were pretty vivid. I did like that there was an HEA at the end.
Told she was crazy for saying she saw demons, Jaz is finally in a good place...until demons once again enter her life...including the same one she met years ago. Danger, heat, romance and love...but can they both survive to take it to the next level. So much included in this tale...and another series and author to add to my shelving!!!
Arkon was amazing and growly and just yum. Jasmine had the bada** FMC thing going on, but she was also soft, warm, and emotional. Heat level about 8.5/10. Plenty of love scenes without being excessive imo. The few typos didn't ruin the book. It ends at 90% with a great teaser of another book I really want to read now.
What even happened in this book? Did I read something else compared to other people? There is like 0 plot in this and the ending barely resolved the plot line. There is an interesting premise, but the insta-love + lack of plot + lack of world building don’t make this a satisfying read.
Kindle - overall story was decent, lots of great connection moments and story line but tons of grammatical errors really detracted from to story. There were a few sentences that did t make any sense in both context and scene, like was something cut that made this line not applicable to the story any more or was it just not fully developed before release.
This is not your average demon story. I enjoyed it, but the pace was off-putting, and the spelling errors really interfered with my enjoyment of the story. I will say the plot twists were good and I didn't see most of them coming. All in all a decent read.
After years and years of being called crazy and having life turned upside down. You the person who made everyone think you were crazy. Now you know demons exist. Who knew that he would be your protector.
I really loved this book!! Wonderful characters, beautiful story and lots of fear and action!! I have already read "Rage" and this book only increased my knowing, this is one hell of an author!!
absolutley adore this book with my whole heart, the characters and the fantasy is so so good and i couldnt put it down. reading the whole series but there were so many grammar mistakes that left me ITCHING it was insane.
Holy shiznet!!! What a gr8 story. I couldn't put it down. I became so wrapped up in this story that I read right to the end. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up
An amazing book that will cause you to believe in love and that all creatures, humans, demons and fairies as well as witches deserve to find love and happiness.
The grammar and spelling issues weren't the worst I've seen, but they were enough to keep consistently pulling me out of the story. So was the aggressive overuse of "damn" and "damned". It's 70ish times in 130ish pages - too much.
I agree with other reviews about the Insta-attraction. With the shared history of the MCs, and the fact that they mostly just smell/see each other and get so horny they combust, it wasn't believable. I also have things to say about mortal wounds and having sex very soon after these wounds are inflicted, magic or not. The female MC was a combination of every overly sarcastic, talks-to-herself leading lady we've been seeing lately.
There was lots of potential, but I won't be recommending to anyone.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 A sexy demon on a mission meets a broken human woman who saved him long ago. Together, they face bounty hunters and personal demons (literally). This has a mix of urban fantasy grit, slow-burning healing romance, and a quest for revenge, with supernatural danger front and center.
The character outlines and general idea are fine. The execution is rough. First it is riddled with simple misspellings, malapropisms, or other editing errors. One or two can be funny, but over time they are distracting. Beyond that, there is not enough time to develop backstories, build a relationship, or resolve conflicts in this entry. Intense situations can lead to we survived intimacy, but the vows of love are not very believable after a few hours nor is Akron's release of his vengeance. There are no consequences for the deaths and destruction caused in the action scenes and then the story just kind of fizzles to an end. It's a bit sad, because the emotional impact of you accept me for who I am and I can survive my trauma as long as you don't treat me as a victim are great.
